As a child you love your mother. She is the one who created you. But Allah swt is the creator of all. Why not give him the same love and attention like your mother? Actually, more love and attention then your mother.

﴾وَلاَ يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُواْ﴿

Translation: And don’t let hatred for a people make you avoid justice.

This means: Be just with everyone, regardless if they’re a friend or enemy.
