being embarrassed to buy books at the bookshop for the third time this week and it's always the same employee who serves them

sharing the bookshop as a mutual safe space

walking through the bookshelves and dreaming of another life

"Is there something you can recommend?"

coming back to the bookshop just to see if a certain copy is still there, not knowing someone watches their daily action

"You should start working here. You're here every day anyway. And the employee discount could save you some money."

A secretly puts out recommendations for B on a shelf they noticed B always approaching first

"You're our best customer."

the atmosphere in the bookshop helps them to battle their anxiety

knowing a lot about the other just by observation but never having talked

shy smiles between the bookshelves

using the books in the other's arms as inspiration for their own to-be-read list

running their fingertips over the spines of the books because everything is as familiar as home

ao3 writers will be like "sorry if its out of character i wrote this for myself when i was half asleep" and then its the most beautiful well thought out character analysis youve ever read

To any fic writers who worry they are wasting their time... I read a fic for a relatively small and inactive fandom about three years ago. And there was one specific scene where a character watched another dancing like an idiot to a beyonce song and it was so sweet and loving that even now years later I have that song on one of my spotify playlist so every once in a while it will play and remind me of that fic, and every time it does I smile and feel a little happier.

The stats on a fic will never really tell you if your writing touched someone. There's no numerical way to show you what impact you made. Maybe you are wasting time, or maybe you are writing something that someone will remember for a long time, something that will never fail to make them smile.

There are many instances in time when the world doesn’t seem real…when life just hits different.

Leaving a concert.

The day after your birthday.

Staying late at school.

Sleepovers at grandma’s house.

Heading home on the train at 2am.

Going over to your friend’s house for the first time when you were little.

As it turns out, these moments feel like they’re not real because they aren’t.
