Since Found is officially cancelled on NBC

I just feel like everything would've been better if all the characters were allowed to cuss. If they somehow shop this show to HBOMax or something they could really improve the storylines. But these networks a.) refuse to promote their shows properly, and b.) they keep throwing projects into the shitter to make way for the umpteenth sports liveshow when they could just move the shows to streaming services full time.

I'm just disappointed because, despite all of the show's shortcomings, it was a fun. campy, drama that was endearing while being serious. You can tell that the cast and crew genuinely loved their craft and if they had their way, they could've improved as the show went on. I always thought that Found is a show that needed at least 4 seasons to wrap everything up well. Just imagine it, with all of the loose ends and uncovered mysteries concerning Zeke, Dhan, and the other characters, a Season 3 and 4 would've given them the chance to rectify all of that.

I'm probs going to write another post to get my thoughts together, but I just wanted to put this out there. In a time where actors, writers, producers, directors, and all creatives are getting the short end of the stick and all their projects and hard work are being shit on, it's very disheartening when executives just give up on them when they don't have to. They didn't even try with Found. They didn't have any special promotional material for the show besides the fan accounts and the base-level promos.

Networks keep screwing everyone over!

Cancelling a bunch of shows to make room for MORE sports timeslots is sickening work. NBC, count your days. Now the ending of Found is gonna be nonsensical cause we can't even wait on a season 3 to wrap everything up properly.

Damn! Now I wanna see a fic for this, or maybe even write it myself. Craig and Liberty going out would've definitely been a game changer in the grand scheme of the storylines. I was tired of JT snubbing Liberty until suddenly liking her and kissing her in s4, and Cranny never clicked that much for me tbh.

Headcanons for Craig Manning/Liberty Van Zandt (Van Manning/Craberty)

-Craig’s pet names for Liberty are Lib, Libby, and “Doll” (during special moments)

-Liberty’s favorite feature of Craig are his eyes. Craig’s favorite feature of Liberty are her lips.

-They both have a fascination for older eras of music. Liberty gets Craig into 60s/70s funk and soul music while Craig gets Liberty into 60s/70s/80s rock and grunge

-Their romance saga begins when despite Emma and Manny arguing over who gets to like Craig in S2, Craig is more interested in Liberty, who he bonds with over doing photos for the journalism club.

-Unfortunately because Craig is Craig, he initially breaks Liberty’s heart by dating Ashley by the end of the year because he feels that Liberty is too young.

-S3 is a messy love square between Craig, Liberty, JT, and Ashley. Craig is dating Ashley while being in love with Liberty, who is in love with him but is pursued by JT who finally returns her old crush on him too late.

-One day Craig kisses Liberty, who at this stage in her character arc doesn’t want to be the other woman. She rejects him, confides in JT about what happened, JT tells Paige who then tells Ashley.

-All hell breaks loose. Ashley obviously dumps Craig for cheating. Liberty also wants nothing to do with Craig and starts dating JT at the end of the school year.

-Craig broods over the summer

-A new school year begins. Liberty decides that she still wants to be Craig’s friend even though JT doesn’t like it. Their relationship crumbles two months in. The sh**ting happens. Craig and Liberty become closer during this hard time and it leads to them finally getting together on her birthday.

-Joey adores Liberty but Harold Van Zandt hates Craig and is ableist towards him when Craig has a meltdown in public. He doesn’t want his golden child dating a “nutcase”. Joey hates Harold as a result.

-Craig has written quite a few songs about Liberty, who gets flustered every time he sings them to her.

-Danny thinks Craig is cool and Craig inspires Danny to get into music himself.

-Liberty helps Craig a lot with his schoolwork. He affectionately refers to her as his favorite genius. They often have to sneak out or lie about their whereabouts from Liberty’s parents in order for them to see each other.

-Liberty gets Craig into reading books. They love watching movies together while at the theater or at the Jeremiah residence. Because of their height difference at first, Liberty likes snuggling into him to feel protected.

-The rest of Downtown Sasquatch tease Craig relentlessly over how much he simps for Liberty, and they get annoyed whenever Craig is too mopey to perform after fights with Liberty but they come to respect her.

-Liberty and Emma become closer friends because they go on frequent double dates with Craig and Sean

-Liberty associates Craig with the scent of oranges, and he wears it as his favorite cologne

-When Craig is diagnosed with bipolar, Liberty educates herself thoroughly on the disorder and does her best to support him. Even though her attempts overwhelm him sometimes and he does occasionally snippy, he genuinely does appreciate how much she cares.

-Manny after getting over the initial jealousy of Craig being more interested in Liberty than her years ago is their biggest fan. She’s the one who affectionately names them “Van Manning” and is always encouraging Liberty to be forward with him.

-And she has a messy romance with Spinner as the trade off 🥴

-Even though he’s still tempted to drop out in this AU to go on tour, he graduates and attends UOT for Liberty’s sake. This ends up even more beneficial in the long run because he gets discovered at university in a different way. Liberty being the great organizer she is maps out an entire schedule of when they can meet up or talk on the phone

-Craig and Liberty lose their virginities to each other in late S5 on Craig’s prom night (kinda wild to this day we never saw a grade twelve prom for Class of 06 wow)

-This leads to Liberty being pregnant in S6 🫥

-The Van Zandts are of course outraged, especially when Liberty’s parents have finally come around to accepting Craig. They tell Liberty to dump Craig or she’s no longer welcome in their house. Liberty picks Craig and with his inheritance money, they have to rent an apartment by UOT campus

-Liberty is the one who cooks most of the time because Craig doesn’t really care to read and comprehend instructions most of the time and if left unsupervised he WILL burn down the kitchen

-Liberty loves Lord of The Rings, and she often jokes that she cuts Craig slack only because he looks like Elijah Wood 🤣

I do want to say re:food appropriation, for Palestinians it is a very very very sensitive issue. I don't know a single Palestinian who doesn't react vehemently to calling food "Israeli." One, because you have to recognize that this is within a larger pattern of completely erasing Palestinian identity, and two, because food is an essential core part of culture, where historical, familial instruction should be acknowledged.

I find it incredibly.... insulting to say "well food can be exchanged between cultures and people, so what's the big idea?" and neglect the fact that even within the Levant, there is a diverse array of cooking styles. To call certain dishes "Israeli" especially within the context of how the state of Israel was established, plays into the erasure of Palestinians.

It's often necessary to attribute the food we eat to specific cultures. For example, I, a Palestinian, would never claim ownership over Macarona Bil-Bashamil, or Yalenji, because they're "Arab." That's just not how food culture works. Different cultures, different climates, different environments all contribute to the food we eat and the clothes we wear. Food in itself is political because of how heavily it is tied to a location in which things are grown and raised.

Food is what builds community. Women, young and old, pass this knowledge throughout generations. And ESPECIALLY between peasant families that grow and raise the very flora and fauna we rely on in our dishes. This is a professional sort of knowledge that we celebrate and consider incredibly important. To strip our very food of our identity is not only insulting, but negates the centuries worth of food culture we've established in favor of homogenization. So yes, it IS possible to appropriate food, especially when you do not acknowledge the centuries worth of knowledge shared.

The ease in which Palestinian men are dehumanized. People saw those lineups of halfnaked men and there was relatively no international uproar. Is sexual violence against our men permissible for some reason as long as you write them off as "terrorists"? Humiliation is part of the colonizers' playbook after all. But this is a complex issue of two politically equal entities so don't worry about it.

That last line was sarcasm.
