I Thought I Lost You (Tim Drake x Female!Reader)

Request: @audioshoes - Yoo could you do a Tim drake X reader where he thinks the reader has died because their building got blown up by a villain or something but the next day they call him because they were at their friends house that night and their like why tf my building gone also can you do she/her pronoun's (if you don't wanna write it das cool )  :)

BOOM.

Tim was startled by a sound that he did not want to hear at all tonight. As his cape covered him from the burning heat radiating off the building along with the rubble and debris, a wave of fear went through his body. 

He lost you. 

Firefly was at it again, wreaking havoc onto the city with his unstable nature. The building of his choice just happened to be your apartment building, and Tim was there to watch it burn.

“Robin, I got him.” comes from his comm, Batman had defeated him. Tim’s hands trembled and a lump formed in his throat. He couldn’t speak.

“Robin. Report back to me.”

“I’m a couple blocks away from the 

building.”

“Are you alright, Robin?” 

“... Yes.” 

“Report back to the Batmobile.”

“Noted.”

As he puts the comm away to make his way back to the mobile, he feels the tears welling up on his eyes and his breath hitching as he attempts to prevent himself from crying. He couldn’t look at Bruce in this state, he didn’t even know you two were together. Bruce didn’t even know who you were. 

It was early in your relationship, but losing you was the worst feeling he’d ever felt. Losing his parents was one thing, but losing someone that chose to love him back was something else. 

The ride back was silent, no one said a word. As they entered the Manor, Tim ran straight up for his room. He ran as quick as he could because waterfalls were pouring down his face the second he stepped out of the Batmobile. As he ripped the domino mask off his face, his puffy red eyes revealed themselves to the night as he covered them with the palms of his hands.

How could have this happened? All he needed to do was to be quicker, find you, and get you out of there. He already lost people in his life but losing you was the last straw. 

As he laid on his bed, looking up to the ceiling searching for answers in his mind as to how this could happen, how he couldn’t save his love, his phone rings. He slowly gets up and grabs his phone, wiping tears away. He doesn’t bother to look at who’s calling.

“Hello?”

“Tim?”

He freezes. Was this some cruel joke to ruin him even more? Who the hell would do that?

“Tim? Are you alright? I just heard about the fire at my place. I was at a friend’s. I just wanted to call you to tell you I’m alright.”

Tim releases a sigh of relief.

“I thought I lost you.” He says as his voice gives up at the end as he begins to sob silently.

“Oh my God, my love, it’s okay, I’m still here. I’m headed there right now.”

“Thank you, I need a hug. That was terrifying, losing you is the last thing I need nowadays.” He says to you. 

“Alright, I’ll be there in a bit. I’ll see you soon my love.” 

“I’ll see you soon, (Y/N).” You hang up on him as you made your way to him. 

You felt a sense of guilt not calling him earlier. You knew he’d get upset, he already lost so many people in his life. Too many. 

You rang the doorbell of the manor, and instead of being greeted by Alfred which is usually the case, you faced a puffy eyed Tim longing for your touch. You immediately wrapped his arms around him to remind him you were there, that you were alive.

“My love, it’s okay.” you said consoling him as he cried. He dropped to the ground as you held him tighter. You bring his face up to your level and looked him in the eye.

“I’m here.” You said to him with a smile forming on your face in hopes that it would comfort him. You bring his lips to yours to remind him that all is fine, you’re both together, that you’re alive and that won’t change for long.
