So yeah, until I hear that they've cut ties with Midjourney and that stuff on this site won't automatically be scraped under any circumstances, I'll be posting new art to Cara.app. I would like to take this moment to thank everyone who's been following me over the years. I haven't been posting as much due to work recently, but I hope my little pictures have been entertaining to look at and I hope you'll still get something out of my work in the future somehow. I might come back here to post an update or two about if I'll be selling at a show or if the Game my company's working on finally announces, but I won't be posting any art here for now.

This. Just this. AI is so ridiculously awful on so many levels that I don't currently have the energy to get into.

This is my annual impassioned post against unethical AI use and what you can do to help. AI is here to stay but unethical AI should be actively condemned. -It is the devaluation and abuse of a group that rarely has the financial means to legally defend itself. Anyone can create art. But art doesn't belong to everyone. It belongs and is owned by the people who make it. -AI Art is copyright infringement on a massive scale. It is also a tool that is being weaponized in a social capacity (nudify online tools). -AI is not a replacement tool for learning anatomy. Real, consenting humans are. Things you can do to help: - Call out unethical AI use in the workplace. Stand on facts and not feelings about how it is unethical. Several companies already have major class action lawsuits in progress, and nothing it creates can be legally owned by a business. It is also going to get companies into a world of trouble regarding cultural appropriation, mainly AI bashing things together that a prompter is unaware may be culturally significant, harmful to include. -Avoid Artstation and other websites that have thrown artists ( and others) under the bus. https://cara.app/home is a great new place that supports human made portfolios and applies Glaze automatically to your portfolio submissions. -Glaze/ Nightshade your work if I doesn't affect the quality. -Support ongoing lawsuits and spread awareness of them. And in conclusion: Just learn how to draw. It's fun.

Bee -n really busy. I spend most of my art time nowadays working at the day job and when I'm off the clock I've kinda preferred to make wall hangings or paint miniatures. I also finally got married last weekend after a 1+ year engagement, so thats a lot off both me and my wife's minds.

Been too busy making art for my day job and moving to a new place to update lately. Heres a weird thing I was working on for my portfolio before I got hired at Otherside.

I’ve got things in the pipeline... I’m thinking after my contract is over that I’m gonna take a month or so to just finally figure some things out and set up some kind of regular rhythm for posting to social media. Finally getting to work in Concept Art for games has really helped me figure out some approaches I want to take in my personal/ professional art that I just couldn’t sort out back when I was in advertising. Its been just such a crazy couple of months after leaving my last job. Lots of things to re evaluate.

Dear heavens I’ve been busy lately. I’m currently working a long contract with a really wonderful client (Lotta game scenario and landscape work, its legit the best gig I’ve ever had), but that’s been really sucking my art energy dry each day. That and I’m planning a wedding. And going to weddings. So many weddings. Everyone suddenly realized how short life is and decided to get hitched I guess. That said, I never like to post without SOME kind of art, so heres my Half Orc Cleric “Iyallo Blue Shoes”. He worships knowledge (Church of Deneir in the Forgotten Realms setting) and constantly seeks out information on horrid aberrations and abysal monstrosities even though all it does is fuck him up in the head. First game is on this Friday. If anything crazy happens I’ll try and post a doodle or something.
