amnesiac!percy being super, super, super protective of hazel to a concerning degree but he brushes it off as maybe she reminds him of someone from his life before. when percy explains his plan of drinking gorgons blood, hazel offers herself up to drink the blood. she’s died once before, she can do it again. percy has something to do, he has people to find. he can’t risk his life for something like this. hazel can do it. chances are, with the doors of death open and thanatos locked up, she can find her way back as a child of pluto.

percy refuses. he won’t let her get a word out. she insists. he refuses. their argument crescendos into him calling her bianca. its draws them all up short. percy is confused, he has no idea whose name that is. he has no idea why his chest hurts so bad. hazel does. hazel knows. its her dead sister’s name. nico’s real sister. the one he lost years ago.

she knew that percy and nico knew each other, nico pretty much confirmed it but he refused to elaborate on any of the details. percy must’ve known bianca. that must be where percy and nico knew each other from. she has grown somewhat used to nico calling her bianca, she had been a substitute, a consolation prize from the underworld. nico couldn’t find his real sister so he settled for a shadow of her. she had thought percy, someone she had grown to think of as an older brother, would be different. yet here he is, with no memory, calling her the name of a ghost, someone she can never hope to live up to. someone she can’t compete with. someone who will always be better than her.

Initially, he thinks it's a coincidence. It's a coincidence that those closest to him have to bite their tongues or else a name that isn't his falls out.

It's only when he's told about Thalia he realizes that the reason Grover started paying attention to him, the reason why Luke chose to focus so much of his attention on mentoring him, the reason why Annabeth was so sure he was the child of the prophecy was the same.

They saw Thalia, not him.

When Luke betrayed camp, asked him to join Kronos he cried: "Why won't you let me do this for you Thalia? Why won't you let me save you?".

When he woke up after being stung by the scorpion, Annabeth is panicking because she thought she lost him 'again'.

But that's fine. They'll get over it. Luke is an idiot anyway, and Annabeth is slowly realizing they're two different people. The other campers never truly knew her enough to compare them.

When Thalia comes back, he's glad, like everyone else, but a part of that happiness is selfish. They can't mistake him for her when she's right next to him, right?

But she stays at camp after summer while he goes home, and when he comes back after Annabeth gets kidnapped, it's like he was never there. Like he never mattered, like he didn't save camp twice. Thalia Grace is there, the daughter of Zeus, and he doesn't want to be a stereotype and hate her, but suddenly she's their leader, and he's no longer necessary just a backup.

He was her replacement, but now the original is back. He can't help the bitter jealousy.

She joins the hunters, and suddenly everyone loves him again, as if they didn't shove him to the side the second he wasn't needed.

Silena does not expect her summer to start with Percy Jackson knocking at her cabin. She's worried that he knows, knows she's a traitor, knows about the upcoming attack.

But he holds up a box of shitty blue box dye.

"I don't want to be Thalia Grace anymore."

And Silena is a daughter of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Not all of them are vain and beautiful, appearances don't always matter, not compared to emotion. Aphrodite loves Ares, Aphrodite is of the sea, Aphrodite is worshipped under the epithet Areia.

She knows what it's like to be compared to others, to what you 'should' be.

"Of course, Percy."

Some bats (doesn't matter who) get stuck in a sticky situation with Peter dressed as a civilian, and man, would spider-man be convenient at this moment! Except he doesn't exist here!

Which sets off a light bulb in Peter's head. Like, 'well, shit, Spider-man doesn't exist here, so they can't tie me back to him!'

So he casually walks up a wall to do a thing to get them untrapped. So he's doing the things, and the literal vigilantes he's stuck with are starting at him like

'Fuck, he's a vampire'

And it doesn't help he has! Literal! Fangs! He's straight up venomous! But they don't know that. Now the bats think there's a vampire casually prowling the streets of gotham, and now they're not even hiding their stalking.

Percy, who is left with cloud like scars on top of the grey hair after holding the sky, because he never quiet stopped holding the entire world on his shoulders.

Even better if no one notices for a long time bc they're usually covered by clothes. They start fading after defeating Kronos, but return even darker after he walks through the Little Tiber. He ends up wearing something a bit more revealing around New Rome and Nico sees them and puts it together in horror.

Percy Jackson a member of the Wayne family. He was never involved in the Bat business, always kept at an arms length.

Jason Todd dies, the rest of the family ignores him, he's a demigod.

He runs.

Years later, his memory is only just returning after Hera stole it. He looks Death in his eyes, and he bargains. A favour, for freeing him.

The dead are coming back to life either way, with the doors open. What difference does it make in Thanatos leads one mortal boy out?

Peter Parker always has his webshooters on. And even if he wore long sleeves each day, they tend to hitch up, right?

So the solution? Make them look like something normal. They look a bit like leather bracelets, so Peter leans into that.

MJ notices first, of course she does. She doesn't connect that particular set of dots, so while in Europe she buys him a bracelet as revenge for the dahlia necklace. It's not plain, like the webshooters, it has a bunch of stars on it.

After that, they're a bit more noticable, so people lean into it. Secret Santa's, birthdays, hell May even buys him one for some occasion.

They're annoying to take of each time he has to put on his suit, but he refuses to stop wearing them. They start to mean something, at some point.

Especially after NWH. He inscribes on the inner side of each one the date and who gave it to him.

i think tony has a thing for grafiti.

i think he carved his name into the walls of that cave in the hopes that, if his body isn’t found, at least his name will be.

and ever since, when he sees words and names splattered on walls, he can’t help but think of a person who just wants proof that they were there.

spots where only one person has gotten up make him think of the lonely night picking out a spot in the wall that isn’t likely to be destroyed. the quiet of scratching his own name in. What it might have felt like to get up there, alone.

I think he’d find it fascinating. An art form that is “destructive” in its creation. Proof of life and a signal that one exists.

He’d never admit it. He’d never say as much. He certainly never told anyone of the “TONY” carved in the Afghan wall, or how he long debated if he should have put “STARK”, and the way he wonders if his name is still there somehow and survived the explosion.

If a piece of him is still in that cave.

If these artists whose tags are up all around him are still alive, if they know that their work is still up, if they remember it.

He still wonders. he wouldn’t admit it. But he notices as much if it as he can, and tries to remember the tags, just in case.

He notices new ones, if they’re prominent enough. If it’s an area he sees regularly, and a tag he’s never seen before. He adds it to his mental list of people to not forget, just in case they’re gone like he thought he was back in that cave.

So when “PETE” starts popping up in red and blue with white lines through it, he notices. He doesn’t know of anyone named Pete, save Peter quill, and he wonders.

Who is it that hopes not to be forgotten? Who is it that’s started leaving pieces of themself through the city?

The Sun Spider was something new, something special. Sure, there were the Avengers, but all they ever did was go on 'special operations' and react to 'immediate threats'.

Sun Spider was on the streets, helping, saving everyday people. He was young, everyone knew that.

Marlene and Peter didn't expect him to be their best friend however. A fifteen-year-old boy, getting into fights with insane freaks. They already lost Barty, they can't lose James as well.

And in the chaos and tears, James can't help but think of the first person who ever found out his identity.

I will move on from the jegulus stuff soon, but this is chronologically the earliest stuff so I gotta do what I gotta do.

Hc that Peter, James, Marlene and Barty grew up on the same street, together. They spent their earliest years running around, practicing their 'accidental' magic and playing.

The three noticed how withdrawn Barty would be, how he covered up his skin, especially after he did something Crouch Senior berated him for. Kids talk, especially when worried.

Effie and Monty started asking too many questions, and the Crouch family moved away.

A while later the trio boards the Hogwarts express. They get sorted and there's a boy in Peter and James' dorm, one with silver eyes and pristine robes. A boy not unlike Barty.

They hit off immediately and the two see the signs. If they are more protective over Sirius after any school breaks, well, no one mentions it.

When Barty comes to Hogwarts, the three try to reunite with him. But the hurt boy can only remember that these are the sort his father wanted him to be around. He does not remember why they left.

Just like Sirius chose the light to get away from his family, Barty chose the dark.

The night Marlene is murdered the are two of her best friends present. Both of them cry that night.

After it, Barty starts to regret. He gets reckless and brash and brave in mourning, he get honourable, allows the aurors to catch him and the Lestranges at the Longbottoms. He knows else he'd have to go to the Potters tomorrow. He cannot bear such a thing.

Peter only gets left with resolve to finish his mission. If he quits now, the blood on his hands in useless, he killed Marls for nothing, so he's more sly, cautious, careful not to get discovered.

I love the hc that Percy has his own version of charmspeak ("Siren Song") but it's more dangerous bc it's not as natural.

So my own take:

The first time he uses it, is by accident on the Argo II. They're being swarmed by monsters and Percy's main weapon has always been his tongue, manipulating and goading his enemies, so he panics and just yells 'Stop!'

They do, if only for a few seconds, and the air that left his lungs now can't return, he can't breathe-

Piper has to order him to do so.

He decides not to do it again, unless they have no other choice. He does do it, once more. He's smarter about his order this time. The monster is on the verge of falling under Piper's spell, and the others are too busy with other enemies, so he commands 'Listen to her'.

He cannot breathe again, but Piper manages to help him much faster this time. His voice is raspy afterwards, but heals after a few days.

And then he and Annabeth fall into Tartarus.

There is no Piper to force him to breathe here, but he's dying anyway from the arai, might as well try to protect her.

'Leave her alone! Remove her curse!'

For a moment he suffocates, and he hopes the curses kill him soon as the burning in his lungs is unbearable. Suddenly, the burning seems more real, he coughs out firewater.

The Phlegethon healed him.

He practices in Tartarus, their bodies injured and exhausted enough that, more often than not, fighting isn't really an option.

He gets used to suffocating. After a while though, it stops, as he learns to withstand in. It's not nearly as powerful as Piper's. It's enough to survive.

When they get out, him and Piper start working together more often. Because while you're focused of resisting the pretty voice with a pretty face, there is someone sneaking behind you, just as deadly, and suddenly the pretty voice belongs to whom you trust.

Just as canon dictates, there are things that remain true no matter the universe.

Spider-man's life is tragic.

Where there are superheroes, there will be supervillains.

Miles Jefferson Morales (!MJ Miles supremacy!!) is unpredictable.

As such there are also things that never happen.

People who never get to live long enough.

Relationships that never work out.

Miles Jefferson Morales was never meant to be Spider-man. Even on Earth-42, the spider was going to bite someone else, a classmate. Not Miles, never Miles.

But what makes canon canon, is the fact that if it's meant to happen, it ultimately will, no matter how many times you stop it.

Earth 1610 was meant to have one Spider-man. Miles was bit, Peter died.

Miles Morales was never meant to be Spider-man. The Spider genes mutated because they don't belong to this universe.

He can be invisible. He can shock people. He glitches even in his universe, and he can do so at will and use it to teleport.

It feels wrong, taking a dead person's mantle, he never wanted to be Spider-man, but everyone expects him to-

Brooklyn starts calling him something different. The Vulture, he always finds the weakest links in gangs, managing to get to the heart with ease. He leans into that, changing his costume.

Soon after a new hero appears. She has powers like Peter, like Gwen. She calls herself Silk and her name is Cindy Moon.

Earth 1610 has a Spider-man. It is not Miles Jefferson Morales.
