Konark Sun Temple Konark Sun Temple is a very famous and ancient temple located in Konark in Puri district in Orrisa,India. It is an ancient temple dedicated to God Surya. The name "Konark" is made up of two Sanskrit terms 'Kona' mean corner or angle referring southeast direction of Konark and 'Ark' mean sun or surya. It is a classic illustration of Kalinga architecture attributed to king Narsimhadeva l in about 1250 CE. It celebrates a very popular event around February called 'Chandrabhaga Mela' which attracts most of pilgrims' attention. This temple was called the "Black Pagoda" in European sailor accounts as early as 1676 because its great tower appeared black. It served as an important landmark along with The Jagannath Temple in Puri called the 'white pagoda' for sailors in Bay of Bengal. Unfortunate death of India's Former President-Dr. Pranab Mukharjee Dr. Pranab Mukharjee was India's 13th President serving from 2012-2017. He was a senior leader in Indian National Congress and has won many reputable awards like 'Bharat Ratna' and 'Padma Bhushan'. He was suffering from lung infection and was in coma for sometime before he died on August 31,2020 at the age of 84 in Delhi's Army's Research and Referral(R&R) Hospital. As a mark of respect, seven days State Mourning will be observed in India from 31 aug.to 6 sep., both days inclusive and the National flag would fly at halfmaston all buildings throughout India,where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment. Reservation ratio system in colleges of India Reservation is a big issue in India whether it's job or study. In India, special seats are reserved for some group of societies.bIn some colleges of India for a reference in Chandigarh,15% seats in each college are reserved for the students who lived outside Chandigarh. Due to this a high part of students are not able to get admission in Chandigarh. Deserving students who obtain 90 or above percentile does not make it while a student with 80% who live in Chandigarh can claim their seat. Is this the way India is heading towards progress? A student always applies to a college outside it's resident city because it doesn't have proper colleges. But due to this reservation system they are forced to study either in inferior colleges or do complementary studies because of lack of resources.
