I have many hyperfixations and this is where I go to rant about them. Hopefully the void of Tumblr enjoys what I have to say. Warning for the rest: I talk a LOT

I've seen like three posts in a row about the set-dressing in Lois's apartment...
So as soon as I have a Blu-ray for that movie, I'm STUDYING her living quarters. I need to see and appreciate all of the little details...

I make AUs too easily, it's a little insane...
Without trying I made up my Batmare!AU, I have a Young Justice Season 5-type AU (That I've taken to calling Young Justice: Generation), AND I just accidentally came up with a semi-Batman Beyond AU where Bruce didn't royally fuck-up all his relationships.
#Batmare!AU#batman au#because of course they were all Batman#I clearly have a problem#definitely an obsession

I adore Damian, he's literally my favorite guy, and I literally call him my son. However, with all of that love I say, I don't think he should inherit the Batmantle.
Personally, I think he should just retire and only be brought out of retirement for like- World-Ending threats that NEED all hands on deck. Maybe he can be like the late Dr.Leslie Thompkins and be the go-to doctor for heroes. Surgeries on supers and all that.
I also fully believe that if any of Bruce's children are going to take up the Batmantle, it should be Cass. Because Cass has the best understanding of what it means to wear the symbol of the Bat. She's scary, efficient, and keeps to a clear set of morals. In some comics it's even shown that she's sneakier than the Bat.

Even then, I think it's okay for someone else to take up the Batmantle, someone with absolutely no relation to Batman.
Like Terry McGinnis (before they decided he would be related to Bruce), someone who came to the same conclusion that a Batman was necessary. Someone who separately carries the same beliefs that Bruce formed in that dark alleyway a lifetime ago. I don't fully believe the Batmantle should be limited to those once housed within Wayne manor.
Which, in that reality, I think Babs would be an amazing mentor. She could continue assisting as Oracle, and share her knowledge from her Batgirl days. A true final form for everything she's been. Plus, it gives the other Bats a chance to continue their lives. Afterall, Barbara was raised in Gotham, with her father being the Police Commissioner and first ally of Batman. It'd be a fun little moment for her to act as the new Batman's teacher.
I ALSO think it'd be cool for Tim to take-up the mantle of Oracle to give Babs a chance retirement. (He doesn't have to be called Oracle, but I think it'd do him some good to get away from Robin-adjacent names) He has the intelligence and the experience within the field. Plus, I see him as becoming the CEO of Wayne Enterprise so it works out for him to finance the new Batman.
In all honesty, I think it works out to just have the poor fool who takes up the Batmantle accidentally inherit the family too. Because that vigilante means too much to them to just not work with the guy.
Could propose a fun future where Babs, Tim, and Damian take up the respective roles of Alfred, Lucius, and Dr.Thompkins. Alfred's role being the ground support/first ally.
Hell- If you were to use Dick's cop background, we could even have Commissioner Grayson. Who went back to police work in his retirement. Plus, imagine the parallel between Babs and Dick doing their father's work.
Don't you just love it when a post runs away from you, this was originally supposed to just be about Cass. Now I might have a full AU on my hands...
#i also think that if Damian is taking up any mantle#it should be Nightwing's#partially because Dick was HIS Batman#and thus it's like a father-son moment#but also so Jon can be Flamebird and not Superboy/Superman 2#cassandra cain#damian wayne#dc batman#dc batfam#definitely an obsession#also I feel so smart for coming up with “Batmantle”#terry mcginnis#Tim drake#barbara gordon#dick grayson#batman au#I guess??#At this point it is

The Untapped Potential of the Supersons within Young Justice: Animated
So, as I'm sure anyone who's see Young Justice will know, Outsiders and Phantoms (seasons 3 and 4) both include scenes with baby/toddler (I'm bad with ages...) versions of Damian al Ghul- since he's not officially a Wayne yet- and Jon Kent. This means that we have Supersons potential.
[Look at the absolute babies!!]
So, of course, since I saw these two around the same time...I've been considering what their team-up within this universe could be like.
–And I genuinely think it could be a really compelling variant of this duo.
Spoilers for Outsiders and Phantoms (mostly Phantoms)
So, firstly, what all do we know about this variant?
As of Phantoms (at least), the Shadows (or at least those under Ra's al Ghul, if more branches persist) are no longer killers. Instead, they now appear to be devoting their lives to rehabilitating those they indoctrinated and hurt. Which, perhaps, could've begun with Jason Todd's death. [If their reason for changing was established in the comics made for Young Justice, that's my bad I haven't had the chance to read them]
We also see that Talia plans for Damian to be raised right at her side. She even shames Cheshire for abandoning Lian (S4 E5 Tale of Two Sisters). Which means she believes her son is not only safer with the Shadows, but safest at her side. So she probably won't be sending him off to go live with his father. Damian also appeared relatively happy in the scenes we see him. He's quiet yes, but he doesn't seem to be very murder-trained. Definitely not how he often appears to be in comics when he's with the Shadows.
There doesn't seem to be any attempt to disguise Clark's other line of work from Jon. He attended a hero wedding with his parents at the end of Phantoms, so Conner would also be a more constant presence in his life. Nevermind, the existence of Young Justice in this universe means Jon could probably become a hero very early on in his life [Especially since I can 100% see Conner advocating for Jon's membership by saying he was even younger when he joined]. Also, Conner is a public hero, and (now) very open about the fact that he's a Genomorph.
We also know that Jon's powers came in when he was still a baby (S4 E3 credits scene), which seems decently similar to how Clark's own powers worked. This would be a Jon likely raised with knowledge of Midwest, Kryptonian, and Martian cultures. Surrounded by friends that are the children of other super-powered individuals (as shown in Home Fires, S3 E9), meaning we'd likely already have most of the membership for this generation of Young Justice.
However, the million-dollar question,
What does this mean for the Supersons?
A flip on the norm: In Young Justice, with Jon is being raised AROUND the hero life, while it seems Damian is being kept far away from such lessons. Which means Damian would be new to hero life when he first arrives in Gotham/America. He could be looking for answers about his father. He might've begged to accompany Cheshire after she's finally worked up the confidence to visit Will and Lian, or he was sent to accompany Jason as he's almost fully recovered. Either way, we have potential for Jon to be the one introducing hero life to Damian. Already more than familiar with the ins and outs.
Less Bratty Damian: We know that Damian arrives in Gotham as a bit of a bratty character, which isn't a crime, he was trained to be a weapon and wasn't fully sure how to handle suddenly living under the Bat's code of conduct. However, he likely wouldn't have this character are given the new leaf the Shadows have turned. With that, it would make sense that Damian would be raised with less killing and more saving (of the medical variety). He's be quiet, I'm sure, but likely well-read and more careful about what he says. Especially since he'd be socialized around those recovered from their time as Shadows. Although I'm sure he'd be taught to defend himself, I doubt he'd be "Killing more people than Jon could ever meet".
Anyways...
I'll most definitely be writing more for/about this. Especially a blurb for proof of concept, but I needed to get this idea out into the world. Also, there's a different YJA post I have to make before I revist this concept.
There would also have to be another major timeskip, but that's not out of the ordinary for this series.

I spent far too long editing this...But this has been stuck in my head for months. This probably exists already, but here it is.
Also, I'm calling this "Ric Grayson's search history", because I needed a profile picture for the top corner...and I think it's funny to imagine "Ric" immediately googling who tf Nightwing is (I actually haven't read that run, his haircut scares me)
Under the cut is a second version with the search I came up with AFTER I finished editing this, and decided to make the pfp Ric.
I put an odd amount of effort into this
I hope it's funny enough to be worth it

I feel like the use of an "Angry Robin" shows a misunderstanding of the characters.
Damian wasn't an "Angry Robin", he was raised to be a weapon and in some cases led to believe he was only worth love if he proved it.
Jason wasn't an "Angry Robin" he was bitter and hurt after being resurrected because his father didn't seem to care that he'd died.
Dick wasn't the "Angry Robin" because all he wanted was vengeance for what happened to his parents. His not angry for wanting his parents murderer dead, he was a child.
All of the Robins clash with Bruce on occasion, but not because they're angry. It's because they're individuals with their own personalities.
So even if it's easier to call them "Angry Robin", "Happy Robin", and "Bratty Robin" that's looking at a shallow fraction of their characters
*climbs onto stage clutching a picture of jaybin and wailing*
HE"S NOT THE ANGRY ROBIN YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME
*security starts dragging me away*
PLEASE- THERE IS NO ANGRY ROBIN LISTENNNNNNN

I've been thinking about pre-existing characters in my Batmare!AU, and I've more or less decided...
The (MLP) Villains are the same, or have been replaced by an adjacent (DC) Villain
Chrysalis stays the same - J'onn is a Changeling instead of a Martian, so he's on of her children. Starlight Glimmer's villain role is likely going to be taken by Lex Luthor. Aka he's getting a more Syndrome-esc origin for this AU as feeling scorned by magic/cutie marks. Also might give him some history with Clark since I'm obsessed with Smallville. Also Nightmare Moon is a really big character to MLP Lore (as she's the only reason the Main Six are together), but I haven't yet decided if I want another character to fill her role exactly (banished princess) or if I just want a different DC Villain (ponified) to be the reason the Justice Herd (working name) team up.
Speaking of Nightmare Moon, prominent characters (like the princesses) have been replaced by characters that match the vibes
Celestia is replaced by either Jor-El or Lara Lor-Van, who mysteriously disappeared after a conflict in Canterlot/Krypton (might come up with some fusion name for that), and no one knows what happened to their son But actually, whichever parent is the Alicorn teleported him to a random rock farm on the outskirts of Ponyville/Smallville - Meaning Clark is LIKE Applejack (kinda), but with the farm of Pinkie Pie Similarly, Queen Hippolyta will likely fill the role of Cadence (kinda) she's going to be an Alicorn from Themyscira. Which for this Lore is going to be an island full of Pegasi/Griffons (because it's going to be in the sky) I might give them a more crystal texture when they're on the island, that slowly goes away as they're away from home. Since it is semi-mixed with the Crystal Empire (being that I might make Sombra into a Wonder Woman villain) I do plan to include the Justice Society as a semi-Pillars of Equestria. Which will likely end up being apart of Diana's lore.
The Mane Six is just gone, they don't exist in this universe
While I think it would hilarious to have the Mane Six and the Justice Herd, it just makes more sense for only one to exist However, the Justice Herd still fill the role of the Mane Six. Be it with the personalities or their use of the Elements of Harmony
Organizations Still Exist, even where their characters do not
Canonically, for this universe, Hal's father is a Wonderbolt, so they still exist. Although this AU is moreso just using MLP as a base as opposed to a crossover of the two
Nevermind, I still have to decided what (DC) characters do and don't exist for this universe.
Like, I adore the BatFam, but I'm unsure of if they'll exist within this universe. Since that's a lot of foals for Bruce to take in I might treat the "Seasons" (since each season of MLP tends to end with a big villain confrontation) as a year and have the characters age through that. Thus unlocking more options for characters However, ignoring that I do already have concepts for what most of the BatFam will be Pony-wise. The only one not included in that is Damian (because he's not a pony in this AU). Also, the lore behind "Green Lantern" is that it's a magical artifact that gives ponies the power of the Alicorn, so while I'm not saying there isn't more than one, I am saying that Halcifer will be the only one we meet for awhile. (Also Alan Scott is going to be a "Pillar of Equestria")
Final, mildly unrelated notes:
I haven't decided on this yet, but I might just steal "Maretropolis" for where Clark moves to after growing up in Ponyville/Smallville
I also haven't decided if they're going to be as spread out as they are canonically, or if I'm going to saddle them all in the same town (I'll probably do both, and just leave the farther distances to the characters who can fly)
I might make Ponified names for the characters?? Like based on their talents, I'm not yet sure as I'd have to do more research (combing through SEVERAL G4 Ponies and finding the relation to their names/Cutie marks/talents)
Also, if this interests you, here is the original where I introduced my original, general idea.

If you or a loved one has confused Marvel/DC superhero names
You may be entitled to financial compensation.
Such cases may include:
Mr.Fantastic (MARVEL) vs Mr.Terrific (DC)

One is a stretchy man who's the leader/patriarch of Marvel's First Family: Mr.Fantastic of the Fantastic Four
The other is DC's resident genius known for his integral role in the recent Superman movie and his use of T-Spheres: Mr.Terrific of the Justice Gang (proper name pending)
The confusion is understood however, both contain a name with "Mister" as well as an adjective highlighting how great they each are. In fact! They both have a team that shares that adjective in its name!

Spider-Man (MARVEL) vs Superman (DC)

One is the Friendliest in his Neighborhood after being bit by a radioactive spider: Spider-Man of the Web Warriors (Ultimate Spider-Man my beloved)
The other is a friend to all of Earth and allergic to a radioactive rock: Superman, Last Son of Krypton
This one is the more famous mix-up, given I'm like 90% sure that what the news reporter meant. Being two of the most commonly-known heroes, sharing a color scheme, and both having a "Sp-Man" sound. It's no wonder these two are mixed up so often!
Also, I lied, there's no financial compensation. Also also this is entirely a joke, I've just noticed that people on here and people in my real life often mix up these names. I even mess up Spider-Man and Superman when I'm speaking very often I'd add more, but I can't think of anyone else. But I debated originally including Hawkeye and Hawkgirl, but I haven't seen anyone actually make that blunder.

I love this question, because whenever I write any kind of Batfam Fanfiction, I make it a feature that those not close to the Wayne family (normally reporters) refer to them all with just the Wayne last name. So like, they'd say "Richard Wayne" instead of "Dick Grayson".
But also because I adore Damian (he's my son), and I think he should keep both his last names.
Also, also because Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne lives rent free in my brain, but I feel like he'd just take on the last name after he starts running Wayne Enterprise. (Also I ship Timberkon, and I think it's REALLY funny to imagine Tim just COLLECTING last names like Pokémon)

I've been meaning to make this since before I started posting on Tumblr (literally have had the photos in my camera roll, and just haven't made it), so here it is.
I love Dan Mora's artstyle, and genuinely the art in World's Finest is the main reason why I bought it (also like- Batsy and Supes being friends again for once)
I mainly like how the Women are drawn though...because he makes the hair look so fun and full. Nevermind the expressions have SO MUCH personality.
Anyways, praise done...and the meme has finally been made.

I love the idea that in every multiverse concept Jondami end up being at one another's side...but it introduces the sad caveat...
That only works if they're both alive.
Like in Injustice, technically Jon does eventually end up there, at Damian's side...but without the ability to cross between dimensions that would never happen.
Because Jon died in that universe before he had a chance to live.
But as long as they exist at the same time, no distance matters because they will find one another. Whether they mean to or not...

Superman (2025), Spoilers Below!!
tldr; My favorite part about the movie is that every character (at least that mattered for the ending) FELT like they had a personality. Even if they didn't get a whole lot of screentime.
Cat Grant? A gossip who talks a lot regardless of if she feels like someone is listening, also seems to be friends with Lois (this could be one-sided, but given Lois shared details about her relationship I do think they are at least close work friends)
Also, this version of Cat Grant reminds me of the one in The Death of Superman, which I really enjoy. I think it's nice for Lois to actually have friends...
Meanwhile, Kendra ISN'T the standard no-kill, squeaky clean reputation that we tend to see for heroes. Nevermind she isn't just willing to kill, but it seems like she's very open about this aspect of her identity. After all, I'm sure Guy was coordinating the attack, and he CHOSE to send Kendra after the dictator.
Also, she has a battle screech, which shows a bit more ambition and drive on the battlefield. While Mr. Mr.Terrific is literally sitting back in a floating chair- and Guy is trying to find the most interesting (and kinda helpful) constructs to assist against a giant Kaiju- Kendra is rushing straight in, mace swinging. She even shouts about how her MACE is stuck, so she cares about that weapon.
She doesn't have many scenes (if I remember right, it's four), but in every scene, she has a distinct personality that shines through. She's agreeing with part of what Guy says, being very open and vocal about how much she hates the name "Justice Gang", she's not giving much input in the battle focused more on the fighting itself, and where Guy chooses to spend his freetime eating cereal in a random diner she's relaxing at home. Completely away from work, I even saw the movie twice, and I don't think I saw her wings/mace anywhere in frame.
Speaking of Guy, I'm glad that time was actually taken to understand his character. Because for someone like Guy, it could be really easy to just say, "Well, he's an asshole. The ring doesn't account for if you're a nice person"
But I think that's a lazier route to take, because what's really happening is that he has a strong willpower (he's stubborn) and he's an expert at overcoming fear through that willpower (he doesn't scare easily). Which means that, yes he can shout at Superman while inches away from his face without even flinching, even if he just heard that this guy was sent to colonize Earth for a dead race of people.
The truth is though, that for all of Guy's ego and stubbornness, he still has a heart. He still does consider Superman a friend, but he doesn't want to risk the planet he's meant to protect as a Green Lantern. Because that risks so many more people. He protects the kid, but let's him know that Superman isn't refusing to save them, he's just held up (and he even sent them an "upgrade").
I dunno, I just think it's good characterization. It shows an understanding of the characters beyond their powers and the fronts they put up.
I've only seen the movie twice tho, so I could've missed something. I'll probably come back to this topic once it's out on Blu-Ray/Streaming Services, and I can analyze it frame-by-frame.
