Me in the middle of the night: *coming up with ideas for papers, developing points to argue, thinking of concepts for stories I want to write, imagining worlds that make me eager to start writing*
Me when I’m finally in front of my laptop: How do I write?

Learning CSS
Today, I started learning CSS. CSS helps to give style to text. I also learned that some CSS can be written in HTML, but this would not be worth doing for large and complicated projects. But I'm happy that I'm continuing to learn new things. So far it is manageable. I do fear forgetting stuff, but that is where practice comes in.
In Other News
I have been craving ginger cookies lately. Ginger is my favorite spice. I even like it in perfume. Anyway the cravings could not continue for much longer. This weekend I found a recipe that does not include molasses and I made ginger cookies. Gingersnaps, specifically. Instead of molasses, it calls for honey. We also added fresh ginger and more of each spice than the recipe calls for. The cookies were a bit soft though we followed the instructions and baked them for twelve minutes. Then, the next day, we put them on for a little more with the bottoms of the cookies facing up. It was much better and the spices were even stronger. Even though the cookies were a hit, my family is excited to see how they will taste with the traditional ingredient of molasses. Looks like I'll be on a gingersnaps baking adventure next weekend too. And all I can say is I'm excited!
If you would like to try the recipe I used, here is the link: Gingersnaps Recipe Without Molasses

Completed HTML Course!!! 10/30/20
That’s right! I completed the Codecademy course on HTML!! It was the free one and did not include all the quizzes or projects, but it still feels so good. I’m often the type of person to accomplish a task and say, “Now what?” But with this, I really feel happy. And it feels good to be happy about something. I think it feels good to have worked on something challenging and to see that I can do it. And I’m excited because I know I’ll be able to use this skill.
I am scared by my next challenge which is CSS. I know HTML was a basic thing to learn and things will get more complicated. The only thing that gives me hope is that I successfully completed the Learning to Code course which makes me feel like I might have the mind for programming. If anyone feels like me, do not give up! The phrase that comes to mind is: “You won’t know unless you try.”
I’m just at the beginning, but I feel really good!

Long Time, No Blog
10/23/20
Yes, it has been a while. I know I said I would blog regularly but I have an ancient computer that takes thirty minutes to an hour to get running. I do not have the patience for it. However, I now have a keyboard for my tablet so maybe things will change.
I went on Amazon and found this keyboard after four hours of research. It is sort of cheap. Had mixed reviews, but 60% gave it five stars, so I thought, why not?
Well, the first keyboard switched the question mark and underscore. I don't like having to return things, but I did and got another one with the hope that this will have no defects. For the second keyboard, I typed out every letter to make sure they correspond to the correct key. Success! But, when I started to type more freely, one thing became glaring. The "A" key does not work unless I smash the key down with a bit more force. But I don't want to have to complain about another item so I'm keeping it. This is the long way of saying, if any of my sentences are missing the letter "A," well, now you know why.

Quote
We are, as a species, addicted to story. Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories.

About Me
Hi! My name is Shareen. My goal is to blog a little everyday. But I am an ENFP so just keep that in mind. I'm not saying that is a good excuse, but it is something I've learned about myself when it comes to keeping goals and habits. Although I have been more successful since the pandemic, despite the underlying dread I know we all feel right now.
Anyway, I'm learning to code right now. If I am as terrible as I fear, then you can probably see all my html structure. But, if I am successful, then I can remind myself that we are often our very own worst critic. The goal is to write a little each day to practice all the code I'm learning. Hence, this will be my mini or micro blog where I can write random thoughts and occurrences all the while committing code to memory. To make this worth your while, here is a little bit about me.
The Basics
I have two dogs. The small one is evil and the big one follows the crowd. I like to write, draw, and paint. I love all forms of storytelling and I really want to write and illustrate stories for children. Besides this blog, I have a more official one by the same name, Strawberry Damsel. That one has more posts on lifestyle and skin and hair care. People really love my articles on skin and hair care. Unfortunately, I have been getting styes from eye cream and face cream so I have not been able to test and review products as much. But I have been having success with controlling my acne. So expect to see some posts on that soon.
That's all for now. Do you have any questions, class? Maybe you can give me some ideas for my next post. In this one, I practiced headings, paragraphs and adding a hyperlink. I've recently learned how to create tables so slowly, but surely, I'm getting there. Thanks for reading.

This has become my favorite sleep aid. And no, this is not sponsored. But, I like to share things that are useful to me since it may be useful to someone else. If you try it, I’d like to hear if it works out for you, just as it has worked out for me. <3

While making my Webtoon comic, I learned 3 lessons. But I did not know these lessons would apply to the bigger picture or comic that is life.
