You may know them from Team Starkid, or you may know them from their own group the Tin Can Brothers (creators of projects such as Spies Are Forever and the Solve it Squad), formed in 2014. To celebrate 10 years, they’re raising a goal of $200k in order to stage seven projects
They’re currently a week into their campaign and have raised almost $50k with 675 backers. But they still have a way to go! And to help, we need to spread the word
TINLIGHTENMENT PROMO SCHEDULE:
Saturday 10th - The Great Debate
What is it?
A live comedy game show featuring Joey, Brian, Corey and special guests pitted against each other to win a debate. It gets silly!
How will I be able to see it?
Live shows in LA (and potentially other places!) throughout the year, digital tickets, and eventually some ‘episodes’ on youtube!
What can I share?
If you’ve been lucky enough to see past great debates on Patreon, talk about favourite topics and moments!
If you haven’t, share moments and clips from the first public great debate livestream happening on Thursday! (I think - if plans are changed then they’re doing a terrible job letting me help them)
Talk about guests! They talked about a Dropout crossover which I know people have been asking for with Starkid. I don’t know what that is but tell the people that do!
Tuesday 13th - Gross Prophets
What is it?
A brand new comedy musical featuring Joey, Brian and Lauren with music by Ali Gordon and Angela Parrish (shitty broadway! https://youtu.be/AZ-bOPiDqo8?si=F6guq3Pk_lOkCB5B)
How will I be able to see it?
Live shows (some workshop-y) in LA leading up to a run at the Adelaide Fringe, with digital tickets and eventual youtube release
What can I share?
We don’t know a whole lot about this project yet, but we do know it’s got a great cast and creative team - talk about those people!
That it’s going to Adelaide!! Australia is frequently in the top backing countries on kickstarters, and those people finally get a chance to see a TCB show live!

Saturday 17th - SIS at the Fringe
What is it?
An Edinburgh Fringe run of the fucked up Scooby Doo parody, with the original cast!
How will I be able to see it?
Live shows throughout the entire Edinburgh Fringe run in August, or a digital ticket!

This is an existing TCB property, so talk about what you love from the original! Share art, gifs, edits, anything!
That it’s going to Edinburgh! As above, UK fans have been desperate for this for ages, now’s our chance! Make sure people know about it!
Tuesday 20th - Spy Another Day LA and London
What is it?
A live concert screening (Hollywood Bowl meets Rocky Horror!) of Spies with most of the original cast for LA and TCB plus Lauren for London!
How will I be able to see it?
A live show in LA in Spring (likely April) with a digital ticket option, and a live show in London in early September following their SIS fringe run
What can I share?
Like with SIS, anything and everything you love about the original show! Angsty fics, art, memes, it’s all good
Joe Walker. To me personally he’s just A Guy, but some people are still shocked to be learning he’s doing a show again! Get those OG fans to support this!

Saturday 24th - TCBoB at 54 Below
What is it?
The songs from their musical This Could Be on Broadway in concert at 54 Below in New York City, with Joey, Brian, Lauren, Esther, Bryce and Clark, plus more performers to be announced!

Live in NYC in November, with a digital ticket option
What can I share?
The first workshop only got a digital ticket release but if you caught that, share favourite parts! And the soundtrack is available, so talk about how fucking good the songs are

Tuesday 27th - Intelligent Life
What is it?
A reading of TCB’s queer sci-fi comedy TV pilot
How will I be able to see it?
Live in LA in early Summer, or by digital ticket
What can I share?
Like with Gross Prophets, this is a brand new (to us) project so we don’t know a lot! But we do know it’s gays in space! We love space gays

Next thought on trying to make my brain behave while meshing Netflix!Lucifer and Sandman is a mostly-Sandman story…
• Nebulously canon!divergent from comics, plot just kind of suspends at end of s1 while Dream continues to try and repair things and better himself
• He tells Hob enough for Hob to think “holy shit my friend you need some therapy”
• Either this is a verse where he’s been friends with Death forever or she’s recently gotten interested in him since Dream got back
• Starts to gently nudge both of them that they might find therapy helpful
• Eventually they agree to family therapy but both seem fairly convinced it won’t do anything/only the other needs it/this is mostly going to be about how shitty Time and Night are
• At some point they decide Hob counts as family and he’s not sure that’ll help but he is *curious as hell* so he doesn’t say no
• Hob has a friend he knew in undergrad who he’s kept up with, and yeah, she lives in LA, but when he offers to pay her an exorbitant amount for remote sessions she decides ‘fuck it’ (This is not Linda, but she would work in Linda’s office)
• Nebulous things happen here where they get some therapy but it’s not as helpful as it could be cuz they’re always sidestepping the supernatural stuff
• If we wanna toss Lucifer in before the supernatural stuff spills over, Lucifer spots Dream on a Skype call or in the office because he’s in the states to do stuff with the Walkers, and declares to him he needs to get a phone because all the hilarious memes are going around about things that would kill medieval peasants and he n e e d s to share them with Dream. Lucifer has no idea that Hob is standing right next to Dream/in the same Skype call when he says this.
• If the supernatural stuff spills over with bo interference, she gets super wigged out or disbelieving and cancels with them for a while, and eventually she’s talking to Linda about things, trying to give them privacy but also sort out her thoughts, but as she’s talking Lucifer shows up for his appointment and Recognizes Some Descriptions and is like “oh is Death really getting therapy? And here everyone thought she was the well-adjusted one”
• Lucifer has either been friends with Destruction for ages or has recently met him and ends up wrangling him into the sessions
• Delirium just kind of shows up
• Destiny shows up next cuz the book says he does
•Desire & Despair are last to be added cuz of all the friction they’d cause on purpose/they’re the last to be convinced they need therapy too

Hello!!! I’m going to be giving my thoughts on tfatws characters in this post so if you don’t want spoilers don’t look past Zemo 🤡

DISCLAIMER: everything in this post is purely an opinion. I, like everyone else, have yet to see the last two episodes and those might just change my opinions, but this is what I think so far. I will NOT tolerate any racism/sexism on my page so if any responses to this post include any of that you will be reported and blocked.
John Walker:
-From literally the first moment, I’ve hated him. (Which now that we see he’s supposed to be a villain, kudos to Marvel)
-As soon as he kept that serum I knew what was coming and I think Marvel and the actor executed the transition in him wonderfully
-The final shot of him standing over that poor man with a bloody shield was 💋🤌🏻 symbolism (but also for that guy to have earlier said that he idolized Steve and to then be killed while begging for his life by the knock off Captain America, is so heartbreaking and I want justice for his character)
Lemar:
-Deserved better. He was literally just vibing, helping his friend out. He had a brutal and unnecessary death.
Sarah:
-I’m so glad we got to meet her in the first episode. I feel like she really helps to show a more personal side of Sam and helps us develop his character more than say a girlfriend would’ve.
-I’m really hoping she’s safe. Like with this last episode, her being threatened, I hope it was just empty promises.
-I love her and I want more of her character
Karli:
-I totally understand where she’s coming from and I support the base idea of the flag smashers but like Sam said, they’re going about it the wrong way.
-I feel like her character development is sort of messy but idk maybe we get more in the last two episodes that sort of tie stuff up.
Zemo:
-Omg why is he so funny and relatable? Like he’s just such a meme I love it
-I truly think he has good intentions but no one is ever gonna trust him because he executes them the unethical way (similar to the flag smashers/Karli)
-Was is he always balling out in that fur coat? He’s so cool. What a fashion icon
Ayo/Dora Milaje:
-OMG OMG OMG THE FIGHT SCENE WAS SO BADASS I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW AMAZING THEY WERE AND WHEN THEY KICKED UP THE SHIELD FROM JOHN I SQUEALED IT WAS SO FUCKING PERFECT I STAN SOME BADASS QUEENS WHO DESERVES NOTHING LESS THAN THE GROUND THEY WALK ON TO BE WORSHIPPED 😍😍😍
-Lol but seriously, they were so cool and I hope we get more of them in the future episodes because as I always do when they’re on screen I got chills.
Sharon Carter:
-I really have no idea what she’s doing at this point. Like she’s just hanging out keeping an eye on them? Idk like if that’s all she’s gonna do what’s the point? Bring her back for one episode and show how badass and useful she is, then just keep her on the sidelines and hardly use her? Why?
-I hope they have more in store for her
Torres:
-What happened to my homie? They did the same thing with Sharon where is seems they just forgot about him? Idk hopefully he pops back up again. He was cool and brave as hell for going in a investigating the flag smashers with no backup
Isaiah Bradley:
-😢 he deserves better.
Sam Wilson
-I JUST WANT HIM TO CLAIM THE SHIELD. YOURE WORTHY BABY I PROMISE (but I get his reasoning)
-I enjoyed getting to see into his family/home life.
-I’m kinda disappointed thus far with his overall role in this show. Honestly feels like it’s more about John Walker and Bucky. Idk maybe the last two episodes dive deeper into his character since they are longer but it just seems weird that really all we got was half the show in the first episode then now just random little snippets of him talking in ways that further our understanding of where he stands with the government and flag smashers. It’s nothing to the scale of what we’re seeing with Bucky.
-I really enjoy the subtle/not so subtle ways they are showing Sams experience as a black man in America. They are executing it well and I think showing it the way they are is important exposure to those topics that can lead to important discussions.
-I love the flourishing bromance of SamBucky 😊
-I really hope we see more of him and Sharon because they’re a good dynamic 👀
Bucky:
-SEBASTIAN STAN IF YOU DONT STOP BREAKING MY DAMN HEART IM SUING (I have so many scenes in particular I want to talk about but I’ll do that in another post because this would be too long if I didn’t.)
-I’m living for this development we’re getting
-I want Bucky at peace. I’m manifesting it 🧘‍♀️
-Again, SamBucky??? I love it.
-I can’t wait to see him with the shield helping Sam train. It’s gonna be so GOOD
In conclusion. I love the show so far and I’m so excited to see where it goes 🤪

Let's say that Kate isn't David's wife and she's some stranger Javi met on the road, would you ship her with Javi?
Hmmmmm....... honestly? I probably would.
My biggest problem with Javi and Kate is that they refuse to tell David the truth until the worst possible moment and it always feels like it's only there to cause more conflict that we don't need.
Look, the whole "My brother is dead and I fell in love with his wife but uh oh he's not actually dead" isn't new. Plenty of stories have done this and it's hard to do in a satisfying way, y'know? It always feels soap opera-y, drama for the sake of drama in a story that's now a clusterfuck because of it.
I'll never get why they thought this was a good idea. I wanted a story about two brothers reuniting in this fucked up world and the complications of "I raised these kids for years now, but you're their father who we thought was dead and now that you have them back, it feels like they're being taken from me" all while fighting against corrupt leaders of this community. We didn't need "oh and I'm in love with your wife, she hates you now," on top of it.
But, if Kate was someone they came across, she wasn't involved with David at all, and she and Javi had a thing? I wouldn't be mad. I think what upsets me so much about Kate is that I really like her in ep1.
Kate's intelligent! She's worked out a tracking system to make sure they don't get caught in a herd of walkers, something we haven't seen before in previous games. She knows how to handle herself against walkers, she's good at keeping track of what they need and what they're okay on. Yeah, she's smokes weed and that's become a meme, but it's an interesting thing to note about her character.
She also struggles with Gabe, who's having mood issues that leave them both frustrated. I don't like that she jokes about leaving him on the side of the road, and you can call her out on it, but I think sarcasm and humor one way she deals with stress and fear. You can tell she cares about the kids even though she never felt she was mother material. And yeah, she and Javi have likable chemistry together. It's not that I don't want to be invested in their relationship, it's that I can't when all I can think about is David.... y'know, Javi's brother??
But if you take that away, if Kate's someone they picked up and survived with and she was hesitant because of the kids, but saw Javi was trying his best to provide for them? so she chose to help him and they grew close? and we didn't have David weighing down on this relationship and it could grow naturally? It could've been so good!
Kate and Javi have good chemistry, they're a likable couple, but they become unlikable as the episodes go on because it focused on all the wrong things, it was weighed down by stupid shit, and then when Kate asks if you want something more but you try to tell her no, you can't do that to David? She slaps you and calls you a coward. Ugh.

8. How often do people catch onto your little details?
Sometimes! I love leaving breadcrumbs and hinting at things, tbh in general my writing is all about the details and a lot of them are hidden. Sometimes no one catches them at all, like there was the implication a couple chapters ago in Demons that Catra had a sort of implosion of hopelessness because of Shadow Weaver and was contemplating ending things the night before canon starts... like to me that was a real painful revelation that adds a lot of context to her behavior in 1x01-1x03 but then no one picked up on it (or if they did they didn’t say) and I was like aw daaamn a good bit of angst wasted. (Okay for real my writing is all about the details and the angst lmao.) On the other hand, there are some readers who often pick up on the little details and analyze the shit out of my chapters, putting a lot of pieces together. @gimme-tea-bitch and @ncamferdam can be counted on for that, and sometimes @droamiin and @malachi-walker have some real great insights too. It’s really a mixed bag. And of course there are the little details that people will only pick up on reread because the chapters aren’t published all together. So sometimes I won’t even know if people picked up on stuff until a story is finished and has been for a while.
12. What’s the hardest thing to write for you?
Sex scenes. Knowing I have an upcoming sex scene to write is a great way to sap all my motivation — it’s why I haven’t updated [redacted] in over a year. It’s not because I don’t like them, it’s because they are incredibly fucking tedious to write. They’re intricate with a lot of things you need to consider, like level of detail and whether you’re gonna focus more on emotional or physical aspects, on top of all the usual considerations when planning/analyzing what you’re trying to do/say with a scene. I find them difficult because even if you’re not super detailed, they tend to be heavy on description both external and internal (i.e. in the character’s head) as well as highly emotional. So they are taxing to write on many levels, and I really have to be in the right mood for it... and no that mood is not horny (in fact that is counterproductive because it’s distracting), it’s a certain level of motivation and focus that is difficult for me to maintain. I gotta be really locked in/in the zone for it.

TWDG S4 First Playthrough
E1 - Ohh how I’ve missed these characters. S4 isn’t flawless, but I love it so freaking much. The collectables are one of my favorite parts, tbh. I’m such a simp for Louis and that’s never gonna change, ngl. He’s so cute and caring and ugh. I need me one of those. Clem is so damn lucky.
Unsurprisingly, I’m the worst at controlling this season in particular. I’m not used to the mouse sensitivity being so high with the camera when you’re walking around but I can’t change it because then it’ll be different when I’m picking choices and stuff. I freaking suck at all of the kill walker scenes, I seriously died like 5 times clearing them out to help the hunting party. I’m concerned about when I have to help James at his camp lol.
The confrontation with Marlon at the end is so damn good. I just always find it so perfect and well done. Also, Louis helping AJ up when he gets pushed down is so fucking sweet. I love him so much. Appealing to him really hit hard and seeing that “Your relationship with Louis has changed” is just oof. I know what CJ has been talking about all this time now lol.
E2 - All of the cuts when Clem and AJ are talking at the beginning are freaking gorgeous. Like, with them standing in the same exact position with the background flashing are just MMMMM. That was really, really well done.
Fuck Lilly. Fuck her trying to help Clementine stand up. She makes me so damn angry. And Abel twisting AJ’s arm and Clem begging for him to stop just breaks my heart. It makes me wonder how much of these interactions Violet and Louis saw, because they would have known to turn around the second they heart that first gunshot. Like, while they were sneaking up, what all did they hear? I told Vi to shoot Lilly because, once again, fuck her.
I’m still so damn bad at the walker killing scenes. It’s honestly sad how terrible I am at them, like, I don’t know why I struggle so much. I think a part of it is that in previous seasons, it would only be like 2 or 3 walkers, meanwhile in S4, it’s like 5 or 6. It’s also probably the fact that we have to control both the camera and Clem’s movements. I just can’t do both.
James is cute. I love him. He’s a sweet boi. Louis carrying AJ in is cute. I love him. He’s a sweet boi. When they get upstairs and AJ calls for Clem, he just sounds so scared and it hurts me. He’s still just a little kid and I couldn’t imagine my cousins that are his age going through these kinds of things.
The banter between Clem, Ruby and Mitch at the greenhouse is so cute and wholesome. Like, Ruby saying that condensation is a big word for Mitch and him daring Clementine to drink whatever is in the vials with her saying “not in a million years.” It’s just so sweet and so similar to modern jokes between friends, it just makes me so happy.
Also, Mitch is one strong boi. Like, Clem is strong, don’t get me wrong. She fuckin chops down trees and pushes adults off of balconies, but she couldn’t get that damn propane tank to budge, meanwhile Mitch comes over and picks it up with one hand. It reminds me of Peeta in The Hunger Games with how he could throw bags of flour over his shoulders super easily.
Another also, the way Mitch says propane annoys me lol. He puts the emphasis on the O instead of the A, so it’s prOpane instead of propAne. It’s just always bothered me and I had to complain about it lmao. Ruby is cute. I love her. She’s a sweet gorl.
AJ asking to sleep in Clem’s bed, her saying she’s still little, and him saying he slept better with her are just so damn cute. I freaking love their relationship so damn much. They’re just so sweet together and I can’t help but gush over them.
Louis talking about Marlon while shooting arrows is just a great scene to me, no matter how short it is. I don’t understand how people can still hate him so much when he explains how close they were and how guilty he feels, not just about kicking Clem and AJ out, but his role in Marlon’s death.
In the previous seasons, I think players became really desensitized to a character losing someone. 1 was honestly pretty good with Kenny’s loss of Duck and Katjaa with his anger and hyperfixations, 2 was a mess with Luke losing literally everyone he knows and being like “meh”, and 3 was also really bad with how Mari, Gabe and David can all die and three days later, Kate’ll still be like “let’s start a family uwu.” I think because of all this, people were really hard on Louis when he reacted like a normal human being over Marlon, which really sucks.
During the card game, when Louis reassures AJ about not being there for the old world and he and Clem kinda nod at her, is so ffffucking cute. I’ll never get over that. They shared a similar look their first night when he gave AJ the rest of his soup even though he was clearly super hungry. I cherish these looks between them and for once, it almost seems unbalanced with Violet lol. Like, I don’t feel like you get those looks with Violet no matter what you choose like you do with Louis those first two episodes. And Louis teasing Aasim about Ruby is really adorable.
And of course, helping him tune the piano is just UGH. He’s so damn cute and I can’t get over it. The scene has some of my favorite interactions between him and Clem. One, where he’s like “How do you feel about our imminent deaths?” and she doesn’t say anything and he says, “You know I’m here for you.” and it’s so CUTE. Two, he has her blow on the strings, she says “I can’t believe I fell for that.” while laughing and he goes, “It’s good to see you like this.” Like, how damn sweet is this boy? He sees that she puts on just as much of a cold exterior as he does with a humorous one, realizing that they both let their guards down around each other. Three, Clem calling Louis a weirdo and him saying that she likes that so in reality, they’re both weird.
Another thing I’ll never get over is Mitch’s death. It makes me hella salty and just grrrr. LOOK HOW THEY MASSACRED MY BOY!!!!
E3 - Willy crying over Mitch’s body is oof. Louis holding Clem’s hand is oof. I wish there was a third option during Abel’s interrogation where you could tell AJ that you don’t want him to watch rather than saying he doesn’t have to.
Again, unsurprisingly, I sucked at James’ camp with the walkers. I had to kill some of them because I literally couldn’t stay alive, so that made me angry. I also missed some of the collectables at James’ barn which also made me mad. AJ and Clem’s interactions with the salt lick are super cute. Talking to James about walkers is much more of an oof when you actually let Lee turn.
So, here’s my thing about the scene in the barn with the walkers and the chimes. No, I don’t think there’s anything more inside of walkers and I agree completely with the dialogue choice that it sounds like hell if that’s true. So James is saying they’re at peace when you go in and touch the times, but that isn’t accurate. They walk up to the chimes because it’s noise. You can’t hear them growling and moaning because the audio switches to music to try and make it more meaningful. James then proceeds to say that when walkers are alone, they’re innocent and harmless which is so inaccurate it hurts. What about Sandra in Clem’s house almost killing Lee? What about the walker that bit Duck? What about the one that bit Lee? Or the one in the shed while Clem stitched her arm? The one that dragged Luke to the bottom of the lake? It’s bullshit.
Louis’ date with Clem makes me hella salty only because he doesn’t get to give her anything like Vi gives her a pin. That’s also bullshit. He’s fucking cute though with being unable to light the matches and saying, “Have you met you?” and shit. Ngl, the first time he said he saw some magazines in the headmaster’s office, I was like LOUIS NO, but they were just about dating so it’s ok lmao. AJ and Clem with the ball and the “I love you” are so fucking adorable.
The hootenanny is cute. Ruby is cute. Louis saying “a woman after my heart” is cute. Him saying leprechauns are too hard to explain to AJ is cute. It’s all cute. Clem tells Ruby that purple was her dad’s favorite color, but it also was her favorite color in S1. If you stand around her and Katjaa for long enough, she’ll tell her that it’s her favorite. So, it’s apparently changed, and it makes me wonder what it is now.
I don’t believe Willy’s reason for getting sent to Ericson. I think that the real reason he was sent was really upsetting, so he never told anyone why he was actually sent there. So, when he learned about masturbation, he thought it was funny and used that excuse instead to make it funny.
I know that the shit with Louis’ parents really hurt him, but I always laugh so hard over the meme that’s like, “violet: my grandma killed herself in front of me 😔. louis: my parents got me the wrong gucci flipflops 😭😭😭.” It’s really tempting to say the dialogue option “worst party ever” but I never do lol.
The dream sequence with Lee always gets to me. Specifically, when we hear “Hey, sweetpea” and Clem looks up in shock, when she runs to hug him, when he’s like “Just look at you,” and when he leaves saying, “It’s time to go. There’s people that need you.” And goddammit, wHERE IS MY OPTION TO TELL HIM THAT I LOVE HIM??!?!?!!! I DON’T JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I MISS HIM!!!!!! I WANT IT ALL!!!!
I’m not even going to get into all of my problems with Violet’s scene in the cell because it makes me too salty and mad. There were some issues with Louis’, too, but not nearly as many. Just grrrrr.
I suck at the fighting sequences as well lol. Like, I got Clem punched so many times lmao. Also, where is my option to be like, “Hey AJ give me the gun” so Clem kills Lilly. Because I want her dead and I want James alive, but I don’t want him to be the one pulling that trigger again. Angery. Where are my choices, choice based game?
E4 - AJ’s talking for the previously on TWD gives me chills when he’s like, “But I remember all the rules. And the first one...is never go alone.” So good. If you can give me chills with just audio and screencaps, you did a good job. Y’all, everyone’s gotta be so damn sore after that explosion. Like, they running around a limber and shit but nah, everything’s going to hurt. And Clem’s climbing all over all this metal with fire literally right next to it, that shit would be so damn hot you’d burn your hands.
Fuck Lilly and her trying to make you feel bad as she’s getting away on the raft. Fuck the fact that you can’t shoot her afterwards. I make the choice three damn times to shoot her, and you still don’t let me have my choice. Bullshit. I hope she eats shit and dies.
Louis and Clem hugging on land is so cute. Violet getting blinded is dumb. It’s like they had to even the levels since Louis got his tongue cut out, which is just stupid. If they wanted to have them both hurt, they should have just set that they pulled out her eye or something instead of her getting blinded after the fact. I find it really dumb. I can’t even tell you how many times I died on the damn beach trying to get through the walkers. It shouldn’t be this hard to control your game.
As much as I hate James’ character flip in the cave, I do love that scene and I prefer it over the one without him. AJ really does have a lot of problems and if I didn’t know that not trusting him would kill Louis, I would have picked that. But I love Louis too damn much for that. He’s still so young and none of these are choices that he should have to make. And the fact that he chose to shoot Tenn in the neck adds to that. He doesn’t know to aim for a non-kill shot to stop someone like Clementine does, so his first real friend ended up dead. And his perspective on things after the game is still messed up, which you can tell by the “What Clem taught me” segment at the end.
The reunion with Louis is adorable. Him saying “longest damn minute of my life” is adorable. Him talking about his skylight and the house they’re going to build is adorable. I love all of it. I always have a hard time with the final touch, because I love that he wants a new piano, the nostalgia of a treehouse, and the dialogue “Thanks dad” for the skylight lol. Tenn’s face when Louis tells him he can help with painting is so fucking cute.
Minnie coming up to the bridge is so well done. It’s so ominous (I think the French version is the creepiest) and the look Louis and Clem share is just like “wtf, do you hear that too?” I died a million times during their fight scene as well because I can’t play this game for shit. I don’t know why, but I find Louis jumping the gap really attractive lol. Like, our boi woulda killed it in long jump lmao.
Y’all got an axe. You shoulda broke the damn lock off that gate. Smh.
As always, the whole process of Clem getting bit and her talking with AJ in the barn is heartbreaking. It gets to me every damn time, just like her and Lee’s does. It’s honestly hard for me to decide which one is sadder because while Clementine raised AJ his whole life, Lee became her family so quick and was cut so short. I prefer the choice of killing Clem just because you get more dialogue between her and AJ before he cuts her leg off, but I didn’t have it in me to tell him that, so I told him to leave her.
I have mixed feelings about the placement of the flashback to McCarroll Ranch. Part of me thinks it belongs in a different episode, but another likes it where it is. It just doesn’t seem to fit well where it was placed.
Much like 9 year old Clem being able to drag an unconscious Lee into the jewelry store, it would be impossible for 5 year old AJ to get her thicc ass into that wheelbarrow and push her to the school. I enjoy the headcanon that James arrived not too long after the amputation and helped get her back, but decided to stay in the woods because he didn’t want anyone to see him.
I missed another collectable in the damn shed which I’m salty as hell about. I love the reuse of Take Us Back, as many of us do. I just had to bring it up because it makes me emotional. Clem pushing AJ on the swing is adorable. The dinner scene is adorable. Violet’s voice is adorable. Louis kissing Clem on the cheek is adorable. It’s all adorable.
When Clem asks if she did a good job, I will always and forever pick the “Is she crazy?!” option because everything she did was incredible. She never had to take care of AJ. She wasn’t stuck with him. She could have left him behind so many times, but she never did. And like Javier said, not everyone is like her, not everyone wants to take care of a baby. And she fought like hell for him day after day, no matter what.
And you can see, especially in the cave scene when AJ brings up the fact that she’s still just a kid too, that she still has so much bottled up inside. She grew up so damn fast and became a goddamn powerhouse. Anyone that got in the way of her and AJ was going to end up dead. She never knew what it meant to be a parent before the world ended. She didn’t get to the age where you understand the choices parents make when raising their kids. And yet, she still raised a child all while raising herself in the middle of an apocalypse.
Clementine, you did a better job than anyone else ever could have.

Sonic Character Fights in Sonic Adventure: Two words: ‘oh no’
The Boss fights from Heroes onward not the Egg Dragoon or the Werehog stages: Boring, straight lines with not much variety when you take them out of context and place them side by side. Sad, when there was some creativity before.
Forces Boss fights: besides like, one, all of them are just generic ‘teach the player how the final boss fight will go’. And for that specific one, how the fuck is not jumping when the Queen slams the ground allow you to go higher???
Sonic 06 Bosses: So fucking slow and unrealistic.

Quick Thoughts on TRH Book 1 Chapter 5
• Now that we are five chapters into this story, now seems like a good time to get the masterlist of this series out! 😁 Which I will be doing shortly after this QT is up. If you've missed the other chapters, you'll be more easily able to find them all there! I'll also be reblogging my TRR series masterlist sometime this week, since my TRR Book 1 Chapter 5 chapter is close to getting finished as well.
• I'm hoping to get this one out early, it's an extremely light chapter for the most part. It's practically filler, filled with little vignettes between the characters here and there and mostly diamond scenes. The heavy stuff inevitably seems to be left for the actual Walker Ranch (sigh).

• Besides being mostly filler stuff, this chapter had a lot of diamond scenes. Two outfit changes (one OOTD and one lingerie for the LI), a group scene and the book's first character scene (Liam).
• A few people I know have been asking me about the differences between "character scenes" and "LI scenes" (and indeed a lot of people were confused by my use of these terms in my Book 3 QTs). So once I get to my general thoughts section, I'll elaborate on those.
• Title: The Open Road
Alternative Title: Enjoy The Fillers, Dear Fans, Coz You Got A Walker-Storm Comin'!
• We're now on our way to the States, barely days after we got back to our own estate. The Council is looking after stuff in exactly the way they have since we left for our honeymoon, except that now it's lost all its core group members besides Olivia. Her, Hana and Kiara must probably share whatever few brain cells exist in that Council between each other.
• If you've unlocked the "casual clothing" scenes for the LIs in Book 2 (Liam's t-shirt, Hana's crop top, Drake's Henley and Maxwell's muscle shirt and Bubbles necklace), that's what they'll be wearing on their journey this chapter.
• Maxwell is now the self-appointed Royal Entertainment Committee.
• Bertrand WOULD be freaking out about spoons.
• Our OOTD today is an off-shoulder crop top with floral designs, and ripped shorts - paired with a blue and pink statement necklace and a few bracelets. Esther DuPont and literally every other MC is more confident about pulling this outfit off than I will ever be.
• Maxwell suggests the outfit in the Liam, Drake and Hana playthroughs, and Hana suggests it in Maxwell's.
• First Stop: Our old workplace in NY! Our manager is no longer around (probably got fired lol) but Daniel is! Or as I still like to call him, Not-Henney 😂
• Hana is so cutely excited about visiting the place where it all begin, a place she must have till now only heard about in the other LIs' stories. Sigh. Wish we'd brought her here earlier.
• Not-Henney has issues with how little attention Maxwell gave to the MC's origins. @callmetippytumbles points out that there's not much you can expect from an author who put his face on the cover of a book about you. Cmon, Not-Henney.
• Told you "Things are Great" would become a meme.
• He now asks what the experience of being an actual Queen/Duchess is like. You can go for the funny route (glam parties that'll make Beyonce jealous. Oh idk, does Beyonce like an overabundance of apples?), the realistic route (speaking about everyone's expectations weighing on you), and the romantic route, which brings out some cute responses in both Not-Henney and the LIs, ranging from delight to awkwardness.

• We make a run for it (in two options, with Daniel's help), and keep driving. Somewhere in the middle of the conversation, the MC mentions a motorcycle when speaking about Drake, which makes me wonder in we will end up having a motorcycle scene in Texas itself. I mean, the writers did mention being excited about a scene featuring one in their livestream.
• Maxwell picks the next stop, and it's that engagement barn we built for Liam, apparently. Or the house of Robert, Steve Tennyson's (PM) dad. Where he has found the "biggest ball of string". Only Joy and Hope, my corgis, seem even remotely happy about this.

Hana needs to roast people more. Roast EVERYONE in that friend group and EVERYONE in that court!
• Fun Fact: This chapter was released on the 50th anniversary of the historic 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing 😁
• As proven from this scene, the few brain cells this group collectively has, all belong to Hana.
• It's now time to check out what the group brought as provisions:
MC: Nothing, she's only here to ask what everyone else brought
Drake: Jerky
Maxwell: Tequila (!!)
Liam: IDK Esther I thought a four-course meal would just fall upon our laps from the heavens
Hana: ME! Bring cookies that I've NOT warmed by the fires wrought from the bowels of the deepest hells??? BLASPHEMY.
As always Hana saves everyone's ass this fine day. I actually quite like this bit with Hana, because it veers a tiny bit more towards "perfectionist" than just simply "perfect". Hana would be the kind of person to worry excessively over being a good hostess, since that's something she's been learning since she was a little girl (remember the tea scene in the flashback).
• We now stop by at Washington DC - Hana's suggestion - because she wanted to look at the cherry blossoms. I was quite chuffed about this when I found out coz I always used to have her down as more of a "plum blossom" girl, and this is pretty close 😁
• That little bit in DC where speaks of the area as "a marvel of both nature and civic engineering" is a nice touch, since Liam has always been associated with monuments and national legends.
• THE PAPS?? AGAIN????
• ...If my spouse and I have to spend ALL our time answering questions about babymaking, where are we going to find the time to babymake, mediapeople? Ever thought of that? Huh? Huh??
• This option is hands down the best fucking option in this chapter lol:

YOU'RE ALL SUCH DORKS ISTG
• We're now in a small town where Liam wants to mingle and be one with the locals. He's not been very successful in doing this in Cordonia (where people can literally look at his face and figure out who he is), but because it's the US and not many people might recognize him here, his chances of not being caught are better.
• This is the first character scene in the new series. It's pretty alright, not a lot of insights or anything, just a simple scene where Liam gets to not worry about acting like a royal, occasionally acknowledge his privilege, be charmingly naive, order milkshakes, and listen to the MC's insights on how she will bring up her/their kid. He does mention it opens some new perspectives on understanding his people, but I'm not sure we'll get to see much of what learnings he will put into action because, yknow, Cordonian commoners are practically invisible.
• This scene is also proof that you can take Liam out of the court but you can't take the court out of Liam.
• It begins with what the MC calls "a sidewalk hello", where she can either guide or massively troll him. The first two options are awkward as hell (I did like the bowing one though lolol coz she tells him he's probably made someone's day with his "courtly manners"), and the third is for Liam to simply ignore the other person and stare at his phone.
• Next scene involves getting Liam to buy groceries...coz he's never brought groceries. Why would he Esther he has a staff.
• They have a choice between fruit, nachos with everything on them (and they weren't kidding about "everything") and chocolates. I chose fruit.
• You also get some cute tidbits about Liam's life growing up in the palace. Here are the important ones:
- Constantine and Eleanor agreed they wanted Liam to be self-sufficient but "disagreed on how far to take that principle" (given what Liam says about her in one of the other options, I'm guessing Eleanor wanted to take it a lot more further).
- Liam can make spaghetti carbonara!!!
- Laundry: So there was this one time Leo and Liam played tag close to a champagne tower at an event, and it fell down. Eleanor insisted they "clean up the mess [they] made. A reasonable lesson in decorum and consequences". I kinda like this little crumb of info considering there is so little we know about her.
- Eating leftovers: Liam used to have sleepovers at Jackson and Bianca's quarters, and he tells us he was "proud to help Drake's mother microwave the leftovers" coz to his little mind he thought that was cooking 😁 I know, I know, I believed my mom when she put a tiny bit of coffee powder in my milk and told me it was actual coffee haha.
- Doesn't know how to do dishes. He knows soap and water is involved lol.
• The final part of the scene involves Liam treating himself at a diner with (what else!) a milkshake, while casually chatting with the MC about how she feels about the simplicity of her past life, and the way she plans to bring up her (or their) own child.
• Liam not immediately understanding that utensils are self-serve reminds me of Hana's confusion at the idea of a McDermots not having wait-staff.
• The MC has options for how to respond to Liam's question about bringing up a child - 1. I'd like my child to be practical and aware of their role, they don't need to learn how to fold a bed sheet or do dishes. 2. I want my child to have a bit of both worlds so that they're more flexible in their approach. 3. My child should be acutely aware of what the common person in Cordonia goes through if they're going to have to rule fairly over them. These three options in some way allow you to imagine what the MC would be like as a mother, and what upbringing this 'heir' might have.

I've never actually seen YOU make much of an effort to find out in Cordonia.
• There's also a tiny bit about Regina that follows this optional dialogue if you're married to him, which I really like: Liam states to Esther that those are "wise words from the wisest queen I know", following which she points out that he's lucky Regina hasn't heard it. Liam's response to that is: "after all this time, I think she'd agree with me". Regina's kinda grown on me over the series, and I do hope we see her again!
• Overall the scene's alright. It's there, it's cute, it's filler like the rest of the chapter. Only time will tell if it will actually result in anything in the future, which kind of leads me to wonder what Character Scenes are going to look like going forward (now that the LI scenes mostly perform the function for both characterization and romance). But the biggest takeaway right now for me is what Liam has to say about his parents, and optionally about his mother. I think that may point towards something later on.
• LMAO @ the random stranger in the diner optionally thinking Liam's brother might be Thor. Leo would be pleased 😂 Also a nice touch to see her recognize us again at the lingerie store if we buy both scenes!
• We now have a scene featuring the couples in their hotel bedroom, where the LI and MC have either had a bit of a wild night, or where the MC has just finished her at-home fertilization procedure (if the LI is Hana). There's a little chit-chat here and there about the moments they have now and about privacy, but it's different in the case of Hana.
• You finally get the chance to ask about how she feels, and this is the response:

• That's it then, I guess 😒 I'm honestly not surprised, given how much in a hurry they were to have Hana concentrate on the MC in the doctor's office itself. I'll expand more on this later.

LIAM. YOU FOOL. I'M WEARING IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
• Honestly I don't see the point in having the MC suggest the lingerie in Liam's playthrough (the others basically make the suggestion instead, and they say "well, you're wearing that", instead, implying that they're talking about what she has on already) if they're not going to code it properly.
• The actual lingerie scenes are pretty cute! And fun! And comes with cool dialogues options, and this:

• NOW I know why Hana's lingerie was head and shoulders above the rest. SHE WAS THE ONE WHO CHOSE IT.
• So here's a rundown of all four LI scenes:
- Liam: The clerk from the store (who was also the girl who noticed Liam in the Incognito Scene if you bought that) recognizes Liam and the MC, freaks out and closes the store so they can shop in full privacy. The rest of it is cute playful banter, like expressing surprise at this being Liam's first time at a lingerie store. She then chooses black silk boxers with a golden baroque design. LMAO trust the MC to get him a Versace. 😂
- Drake - Tells the MC he likes it when she takes the lead. The MC then gets to ask him whether he would be down to wearing handcuffs or pink feathers. To the second option, Drake claims that he would "wear a tutu and crown if you told me you had a thing for the sugar fairy". LMAO they really are desperate to show us how much they learned from the "pink cake" fiasco. Pity how they couldn't teach themselves to treat their one female LI with respect. Anyway, the MC chooses red silk boxers with polka dots (!!)
- Maxwell - This scene is a fever dream from start to finish. Maxwell is happy and excited and SUPER SUPER enthusiastic, asking the MC to drop a beat so he can break into a dance at the store. The MC chooses blue silk boxers with squid designs on them. EVEN MAXWELL CANNOT CONTAIN HIS SHOCK. (PS: This scene marks the third appearance of "release the kraken!" 😄).
- Hana - Hana has apparently seen shops like these from the outside but has never been to one (same sis same). She speaks of how she never had anyone to do it for, which is why she is so happy about it now coz she can do it for the MC. A sweet, simple conversation. The difference here is that Hana knows what she wants, and chooses the lingerie herself: a beautiful lace and fishnet number with garter belt and stockings. She looks amazing and part of that is because unlike her friends, she realizes that her wife has deplorable fashion sense.
• It's now the next day, and Drake tries really hard to hoodwink everyone into making his "next stop" the Walker ranch, but the Royal Entertainment Committee threatens him with an "intimidating interpretive dance performed by me" (is he going to jump out the car and sing Kiki Do You Love Me too?). It's enough to scare Drake into picking a nicer stop.
• It's now time to listen to some tunes!! Everyone squabbles a little over what music to choose and the MC gets to pick either of them:

- Hana's Choice: A piano concerto that Liam loves, makes Drake cry and Maxwell go all happy-sleepy.
- Liam's Choice: Chartbusters. "Top 40s". Drake is surprised coz the last time they drove together, Liam made him listen to 52 versions of a single Bach sonata, to which Liam cheekily responds that doing so made him figure out which one was Drake's favourite.
- Maxwell's Choice: Some song that Maxwell did a deejay mix to, and apparently Liam (and presumably Drake) lent backing vocals to. Going by Liam's advance apology it must be pretty fucking terrible.
- Drake's Choice: Classic rock tunes that he can do air-guitar to. Liam concedes it has rhythm, Drake responds that it has rhythm and attitude. He tries to do air guitar in the car but Hana, panicking, reminds him that he's the one driving.
- What Would Have Been Bertrand's Choice/We Shall Drive In Silence!: Apparently when the MC says this, Maxwell says that she channeled Bertrand so hard "he flashed before my eyes". The MC reasons that if no one wants to listen to anyone else's music they might as well be quiet. Maxwell tries to bring up other alternatives such as playing his kazoo-tar, at which point EVERYONE agrees that silence is golden.
• This bit is one of my favourites in the chapter. Probably the second after "say cheese" haha.
• It's Hana's turn to drive and Maxwell is helping her by asking she carve that path from her heart. Which she does, even though she has mentally memorized the next twelve steps she needs to take.
• Liam drives, explaining when the MC asks that Drake was his first driving instructor (Drake had his licence already and they may have used a royal golf course or two for practice runs).
• Maxwell finds a new waypoint: Thrilltown. His reasoning is quite poignant (everything is changing, the MC and LI - in some cases him - will be having a child soon and everyone will be busy in their respective roles, when will everyone be together like this again?). The rest of the group comfort and reassure him, stating that they will probably see more of each other now. In any case...perhaps to Maxwell this is like a last hurrah to the carefree life he used to have.
• We start with choosing rides. Maxwell and Drake choose The Accelerator, which Maxwell describes as "fast. furious. and it uses gravity at speeds that Thrilltown can't legally release to the public!". Hana and Liam choose the "gentler" option - the carousel - which has you ride unicorns, griffins, dragons and other fantastical beings.
• I'm surprised the writers don't have him react even a little to the carousel, considering one of his scariest experiences took place on one (Book 1 Chapter 16). Just show him say "yeah...I'll pass" or show some emotion or other. It's like that armoury scene in his playthrough of Book 3 Chapter 11 where Madeleine could mock Liam about his feelings for the MC and Maxwell is pretty much sitting there not reacting. It's so lazy. I can't.
• Carousel with Liam and Hana: I loved this one, very cute. The carousel has fantasy elements and mythical animals, things that both Liam and Hana love. The MC gets to sit on a phoenix (like her optional Valtoria sigil!), Liam on a dragon (like the royal family's old crest! Dom would be proud) and Hana on a unicorn (which suits her particular style of whimsy). It's cute and fun and sounds exactly like the kind of thing Liam and Hana would enjoy.
The Accelerator with Maxwell and Drake: They call it EXTREME, and it lives up to its name. Maxwell is ecstatic obviously because he's a thrill-seeker and a ride like this is completely in his wheelhouse. Drake gets caught red-handed handed actually enjoying the ride.
• We try out something called The Vortex of Terror, where Liam challenges his friends to not scream up until the end of the ride. Ironically he's the first one to cave 🤣🤣
• "I accept your terms, Liam...as long as you're prepared to lose". Badass enough to challenge the king of the country xD (considering the way that ride goes, I think she was right haha).
• I need more Competitive, Sarcastic Hana outside of cute group scenes.
• One of two people can win this challenge: either the MC or Hana. If the MC wins, she gets to hoist herself on the LI's shoulders towards the next ride. If Hana wins, she perches herself on top of Drake's because he's pretty damn tall.
• Our last ride is called "Lover's Leap" and it's pretty much the romantic portion of the group scene, really.

At the end of it, the LI brings you a green candy drink, and then lets you know how this trip to Thrilltown is representative of their journey together and the change the MC has brought to their lives.
• Both Hana and I have no freaking clue what Liam means when he says "I call shotgun" before they head out.

• We now reach the ranch, where those of us who didn't marry Drake meet his mother Bianca for the very first time (in every other playthrough she is called "The Rider" and in Drake's her sprite is addressed by name).
• There ends the chapter, on a 'suspicious' note, the kind that seems to sound like things are suspicious but they're probably not. Bertrand's head must be exploding from the lack of spoons.
General Thoughts:
• It's a good thing this filler chapter exists, even if it's mostly inconsequential fluff, because at least that's one chapter less to deal with BertVannah and Drake and his family.
• It's also pretty expensive because the writers knew their crowd by now and know that that crowd is willing to spend.
• The scenes were in keeping with the mood of the chapter - light and fluffy, lots of friendship and some amount of romance. I ended up liking the free short scenes more than any of the diamond ones this chapter honestly.
• So...on the outset, it seems good that the MC is able to check on Hana, post the visit to Dr Ramirez. Hearing Hana's answer, however, brought back every issue I've ever had with the way they've written Hana.
I mean, sure, not everyone reacts the same way to such painful news. I understand that. But here the writers are basically using Hana to minimize what she's going through. They use her to dismiss her own pain with "oh that's okay, I'm just happy that at least you can carry that baby". All that proves is that the female LIs' experiences and pain mean nothing in front the MC's needs.
I've spoken before about the numerous times Hana's pain had been brushed aside or her space eaten into, to favour particular characters, and this just happens to be a repeat of the same formula. This is especially bad because it proves that the only reason they put Hana through this kind of hell in the first place is so that only the MC can carry the child. Her condition isn't allowed to be anything else other than a plot convenience: not an opportunity to open a conversation on this, nor to help develop her as a character. It's merely a narrative device meant to make coding easier. It's dismissive, lazy and reeks of a deplorable lack of care. And again I have to ask, why put her through this if you're so desperate to ignore it afterwards??
• The other big problem is that considering the gravity of that situation, why is checking on her an option rather than actual default dialogue?? If you choose the option to continue talking about playlists instead, the topic just never emerges again. Again I have to ask, what the hell kind of wife is the MC? I mean even before they got the news, the MC was pretty much doing nothing. She wasn't planning for Hana, she wasn't thinking much in terms of what to do for her, everything seems to just revolve around her even in a scenario where either one could have been a mother.
• The lingerie scene seems to me to have elements of a type of diamond scene in the flagship series - the ones where we could buy new casual clothing for our LIs in NY. The LI requires a new look, the MC suggests for a change and often picks out something that she thinks would work (some of her choices - like Liam's pants or Drake's sunglasses are...questionable 😅), and from then on this would be their option for ultra-casual occasions. The one casualwear scene that is different from all these is Maxwell's: he gets his sleeveless shirt and Bubbles necklace at a shop in Coney Island, during the group scene (I think part of this was that they were attempting a step-by-step LI-upgrade because they were a new couple at that point...which was why his first 30 diamond scene was during the Gala, after they'd been together for a little while. Still doesn't excuse all the ways they ignored his background and history though).
The main difference between the casualwear scenes and the lingerie ones is that the first dealt put the MC and LI in different situations and dealt with different issues (therefore was a scene of its own) and the second really just revolved around the lingerie. Perhaps the lingerie scene would be what you'd call an 'extended outfit option'? As opposed to something that's a scene all on its own?
• I was actually quite surprised we got a character scene in this series. Given how much they'd drastically cut down on them in favour of beefing up their LI scenes more, I was fully expecting not to see them. I do prefer them to the LI scenes sometimes, because my LI is not the only one I want to be keeping tabs on, and I do want to know what's happening in their lives.
• What is the difference between the two? I hear some of you ask. Well, good question because I'm about to launch into one of my long-winded explanations again.
• Diamond Scenes in TRR/H: I've been holding off on writing about these, since I believed that the series probably had done away with character scenes and preferred to use LI scenes for both romance and development. With this chapter, I now understand that's not the case.
• So...simply put, the difference between an Character Scene and an LI scene, is that the first focuses on the same character in all playthroughs (eg. no matter who you are romancing, if you buy these scenes it's Hana who will play Snow Angels with you, or Drake who will go fishing with you), and the second focuses on who you are engaged/married to (eg. If I'm romancing Hana, I will not be going to the movies with Liam. If I'm romancing Maxwell, I will not be having a cake testing session with Drake).
During Books 1 and 2, when the MC wasn't altogether exclusive with any LI as such, each character would have their own specific scene which expanded further on their characterization and gave the MC a chance to learn more about them. Most of the romance in these scenes were by choice, with the exception of a few lines here and there. The writers tried to continue this way of formatting diamond scenes even beyond Liam's proposal, but the amount of backlash from the portions of the scenes that involved the MC cheating on her confirmed LI...kind of made them backtrack on this plan quite a bit.
Book 3 switched the format up a little. It was similarish in a lot of ways to RoE, except that unlike that book (where the other two would disappear once you got engaged to one), we were also friends with the other LIs. Besides outfits and plot development scenes (such as the one in the Nevrakis replica armory with Olivia and Gladys) and group scenes, the book also offered two types of scenes for the reader to connect with the characters they liked:
1. LI Scenes: These scenes are meant for the LI the MC is marrying, and are coded differently based on that. This kind of scene was first used in the series in the first chapter of Book 3, where the MC and LI could comfort each other in the safe house. The initial chapters had a similar approach to the scenes as RoE Book 3 (where Mr Sloan, Leo and Dean all ended up sounding like each other), in that the dialogues sounded pretty cut-and-paste, with little to no actual variations beyond a few things (an example of this was how - in the Book 3 Chapter 6 Spa Scene in Applewood - all the LIs spoke of being "dumb in love" with the MC - which suited certain LIs, but sounded extremely jarring on others.
During Book 3, a high number of complaints about the series revolved around this copy-paste routine for the LIs, mostly because the characters were so different from each other, and wouldn't speak the same or even have the same experiences. Around Book 3 Chapter 8, major shifts began to happen in the way these scenes were written, starting with the Movie-going Scene in Castelserraillian. Post that chapter, and the hiatus, there was a significant decrease in the number of individual character scenes, and an increase in both number and quality of the LI scenes. It is very possible that they found juggling both stressful and dialed back on one to personalize the other further.
2. Character Development Scenes: These were scenes with the LI that you got regardless of whether you were marrying them or not. This scene would be viewed over all playthroughs, with differences based on whether you were marrying them or not. If you were not marrying them, these scenes would appear neutral and the romantic options would simply not be there, or be replaced by more neutral ones. Examples of such scenes include Drake's Cordonian Waltz Scene in Fydelia (Book 3 Chapter 3), Liam's Gastrodiplomacy Scene in Castelserraillian (Book 3 Chapter 7), Hana's Polo Scene in Portavira (Book 3 Chapter 5) and Maxwell's Armoury Scene in Lythikos (Book 3 Chapter 11).
The most important thing to remember is that these scenes are expected to be coded differently (according to your relationship with said LI), not only by adding romantic options for the MC to choose, but also in the actions of the characters by default. For instance, the Fydelia Cordonian Waltz scene in Drake's playthrough incorporates - by default - all the sensuality you should be finding in this waltz, while his friendly playthrough is merely the MC teaching him the basics so they have an edge over Neville. By default, if you buy the Gastrodiplomacy scene as Liam's fiancée, the chocolate souffle you sampled with him would feature at your wedding reception.
I say the scenes were expected to be coded differently, because very often they were not. In a lot of cases the only proof you'd have in those scenes that the LI and MC were even together were from the MC's actions. For instance, even though Hana was going to be a duchess on marriage to the MC, the same as Drake - only Drake got to speak in detail about it. This opportunity came for Hana very briefly only by Chapter 14, well past the midpoint of Book 3.
• So when Book 3 began the formula was mostly "leave the character scenes for developing the LI's issues or getting them to teach something, and concentrate on nothing else but the romance for your LI scenes". However this wasn't exactly workable given how different each LI was and therefore how odd some of their dialogue sounded. The dial back is understandable (though, as someone who has looked through various playthroughs in this book, I can tell you the imbalances found across character scenes were on a whole different level).
• Why I've elaborated on this is to give context to a question I now have about the narrative: what are the Character Scenes going to look like from here on out? Post the hiatus, they would vary - they could be mostly plot-driven, or fun and light but not much depth or variation, or fun and light, and also opening up diverging conversations based on your relationship. Now that they seemed to have locked down some format in this book at least, what's it going to sound like?
The Liam Character Scene today was fun, light, had default differences based on whether you were marrying him or not, but ultimately had very little to give to the story other than a few facts about Liam's home life and (in a way that expands on what we already know about her and her dynamic with Constantine) his mother. What exactly does he learn? What new insights is he getting as a King who self-admittedly exists and operates in a "statesman's bubble"?
It also remains to be seen whether buying this scene will have any effect of future events - like Liam's Applewood Tour Scene, where his retelling of King Fabian's story had an impact on our conversation with Kiara's mother Joelle. I'm probably going to keep track on how these character scenes are being written in this series, considering that we already have a pretty good idea of how their LI scenes are done.
• Twice I've seen Eleanor associated with pasta. In Book 1 Liam mentions simple tomato pasta as a childhood dish that reminded of his mother, and here shortly after he speaks about his parents he mentions knowing to cook spaghetti carbonara. IDK what that's supposed to mean but I'm bringing it up anyway. I'm mean, what if it's a part of Auvernese cuisine 😂

|| So whether or not he’ll brag to the high heavens or not is completely dependent on his mood, but there are just somethings he’ll never brag about and always shove them off as ‘nothing special’ or ‘necessity’  but he holds this one in his heart as one of his more prized accomplishments, but he’ll never speak a word of it to anyone. 
He can walk.  He can walk on his own two feet with no help from anyone. 
No more walker, no more crutches, no more cane, no more parallel bars. 
Walking on his automail for the first few times hurt like a bitch because of the sheer weight of it. trying to move that thing with just the strength of his own frame was horrendous. He almost thought it was a horrible mistake he’d made and he’d never be able to walk on that damn thing by himself. but he pushed himself. He pushed himself so hard, he’d drop himself in pain - so hard (just as Grams predicted) he was spitting up blood.  
Edward wanted it. He wouldn’t be bound to that fucking wheelchair for the rest of his life. He’d have his life his back, so he fought for it. He still thinks of it as the greatest fight he’s ever been in, because it was a battle for his independence.  Its a thing most people don’t think about, it’s just something we do but Edward cherishes it. 
Most people in his life, don’t know about his leg because he hides it so well and almost constantly but he can still remember pulling himself on the ground in a desperate attempt to save his brother unable to get up and move for himself.  He can remember falling flat on his face when he lost hold of his cane and lost his balance. 
But he can walk on his own. He can run and jump and flip and kick. He’s got all his mobility because he fought for it. His mobility is a source of pride for him, but if anyone said anything about it, he’d smile and laugh it off as nothing special.

You know, considering the story they’ve been writing this past season I can’t say that I hated the GOT finale, and had it been better written, I would even say that I loved it. However, everything they did - it made sense to me, but in terms of how it could have gone, how it would make sense if it were developed -with a few rewrites, of course, particularly focusing on Bran and Dany, and the importance (or lack of importance) for Jon. 
It’s important to note that both Bran and Dany have the same vision - this is, to the best of my knowledge, the only one shared by two characters in the show. And, we finally get to see that vision in the show (not exactly the same, sure, but ultimately the same scene). Dany is the before - what causes the Red Keep destruction, the pain and overall foreboding that is just drenched in that whole atmosphere, though she doesn’t understand that when she sees it, both in the vision and real life. Bran also doesn’t understand why he sees the Mad King, or the throne - it is, after all, seemingly unrelated to his NK storyline, except his story isn’t supposed to end there. Bran is the after, the vision is shared by the person that causes the events and the person who will fix it. 
Bran being king. I’m going to be honest, while my first thought was that it was dumb, on further thought I do think it makes sense, and that it’s beautiful in a way. The two things that are first introduced to us in the story are: white walkers, and then Bran’s POV. It’s fitting to end the story on someone who is so heavily entwined in the white walker storyline, and who opened up our entire story. It was initially going to be his story, and it was, in a way, because our boy who thought he could never be important or useful because of his disability is king. And he can see everything that has ever happened and is happening - he can scope out people trying to betray the kingdom, learn from the past to work towards a future. It makes sense. But, the show didn’t earn this. The very same character they made king they also cut out of an entire season because they didn’t know what to do with him. Instead, they skipped his training arc, vaguely explained his Night King connection, and then forced Bran to become emotionless for the rest of the series. In season 8, they just seemed to lean into the meme and had Bran stare at others and make one-liners and that...was really it? Bran Stark, who had an entire arc regarding the dead, becoming almost omniscient, and such complex and important emotions about his usefulness now that he’s disabled is just....staring at people from afar and warging into birds for unspecified reasons. 
But I’ve seen theories that he’s the Night King and - to fit that into him being the ruler of the kingdoms, well...what if fate were changed? Let’s say that Bran remains the same, character-wise, until the Battle of Winterfell. It’s because he’s worked out what the audience has worked out - he is the Night King. It’s the only thing that makes sense, right? He caused this to happen, just as he caused Hodor to happen. Bran goes back in time to try and warn the Mad King, but he messes up. The thought gets planted to use wildfire, but in Aerys’s mind it’s to kill King’s Landing, who are now the monsters in his mind. Bran goes back farther to try and fix his mistakes and then wargs into the man who would become the Night King. And, people say how then the NK could kill Bran right before Arya (or Jon, as expected) kill the NK, thus trapping Bran in his warg and solidifying him becoming the NK and everything going full circle. And in this version, we’re sure of that, and Bran becomes sure of that - he’s been told he can’t escape destiny, that everything is written, and this has to follow that. 
But what if it didn’t? 
Bran wargs, and is trapped, and becomes the Night King. He closes himself off, he’s spent centuries confined to this fate, and he just needs to kill his original body and ensure that things happen as they’re meant to. He almost forgets how he used to look, and he goes after each Three-Eyed Raven, until finally he gets to himself and is determined to just carry out destiny. But then, something happens. His original body never dies. Arya kills the NK, whoever he had become, and Bran is back and he suddenly realizes that he was so sure he was going to tie fate together, make everything full circle, and now he’s here back in his body and there is a future that’s going to happen for him and for once he isn’t sure what that’s going to be. Bran goes from being sure that he has to play at something else - the Three Eyed Raven, the Night King, and now he is suddenly hit with the fact that he’s Bran again and he starts letting himself feel again. He may have these powers but no matter what form he takes he’s now back to being Bran and he’s suddenly no longer so sure of himself and we see uncertainty, we see him going back to the same question he asked Jaime - how do you know there is an afterwards? Bran starts thinking about what he’s caused - with Dany’s life, causing her father to go mad, the cycle that he caused as the NK, and everything that occurred without him (after all by this point, he’s seen men thousands of times over ignore real danger in favor of their egos, all without any of Bran’s involvement). And Bran starts thinking about what he can do, how he can stop a cycle from occurring and if he can. 
Dany going mad could happen simultaneously while Bran is having his journey. Again, something I could easily see, and I thought I had seen signs of madness in the past. And Tyrion’s conversation with Jon? About how you just keep rooting with her because you have to, because there’s a clear line and then it just gets harder and harder but she’s still technically right and now there’s the line that she’s crossed? I thought that was an excellent commentary on Dany. It’s exactly what I think of her and her character...except we didn’t see that progression. Tyrion himself named clear-cut examples and then jumped to what we see in the show - Dany going from that to child murder. We should have had at least a whole season to go into Dany’s madness, see her continue to make more morally grey choices until King’s Landing, and see her so utterly convinced she was right because she’s been right before, why should it be different now? To see her actually rule would have been amazing - see that she wants to make a better place while simultaneously having her being a tyrant, no matter how unintentionally. Maybe even have her find out about what Bran did, and have her resent him for planting the thought in her father’s head, because it makes things all the more complicated - we don’t necessarily know who’s in the right for that. Nobody really is, they all messed up, but it would fit in with Dany thinking that anyone who’s against her is an enemy and with Sansa and Arya not kneeling and finding out Bran unintentionally caused everything with the Mad King - even if Robert’s rebellion were to still have happened, Dany would still view it as yet another reason the Starks were out to get her. Add it all up and there’s more conflict and reasoning to have her go against them. 
Have the conversation with Tyrion and Jon, how much they both love her in their own way, how they know that she is good at her core and that she has so much love to give but that it does not change the fact that they need to do what is right even if it is terrible. But don’t do it in the episode where she dies. Have it the season of, or the episode before. Jon gets the POVs for half the time during this season in this version of events. We see him struggling, trying to figure out how much Dany would be willing to give. We see Sansa’s POV with Dany, with Jon silently watching every interaction that Dany has with Sansa or Arya. Give that morality question to them then, and focus on Dany on her death episode. Let her have her point of view that we have grown to know, how she thinks of things, how sure she is that she is doing things the right way and that this, this will bring a better world! Let us see it from her point of view rather than two men discussing her disintegrating mental state that occurred within an episode. 
With that, with another season and with an even split between Jon and Dany’s POVs, we get to see the real descent into madness for Dany and Jon’s struggle between his identities - his Stark and Targaryen one. Because I don’t care if Jon becomes king or not, I don’t even care about him being Azor Ahai or not. I actually rather like him giving a big fuck you to destiny and going off the be king beyond the wall, essentially. Because that’s what this is, a fuck you to destiny - Bran gets to be the king, Dany tried to follow a destiny and failed, and despite everything stacked making Jon out to be the hero Jon finally puts his foot down and says fuck being Aegon Targaryen fuck people constantly forcing him to be the “ultimate hero”, he chooses his family, his real family who he’s been raised with and will protect when it comes down to anything, even the woman he loves, and then he looks at his two identities when all is said and done and decides that he wants to stay Jon Snow and be where he’s seemed the most at home so far in the books and the show, and goes off to the North. Because Jon being a Targaryen doesn’t make him special. Jon being Azor Ahai doesn’t make him special. Jon being a Stark, no matter how much we all love his Starkness and his familial bonds, even that doesn’t matter. None of those names or destinies matter, because like Sansa said a season ago, Jon is Jon. That is why Jon is important, because no matter what hero or name gets put onto him, he will do what is right, genuinely right, and then at the end his reward is that he’s allowed to not be the ultimate hero, which is what Jon wants. 
I know it’s not perfect, and that obviously it’d depend on them having had written an extra season (and not cut Bran out of an entire one) but thinking about how it could have been makes me think that there’d have been more emotion with that, just keeping everything the same but adding to it so that the emotional payoff feels earned rather than cheap, and made people at least slightly less bitter about the way these three ended off.

• I can’t stand Jimmy x Maggie and Kit x Grace/Kit x Alma so this ship solved SO many problems I had with AHS.
• First of all: Kit FINALLY gets to be happy!
• He deserves to be loved, cared for and protected.

• Thomas thinks Jimmy’s hands are super cool and he always asks him to take him to see the freak show.
• Julia talks to Jimmy about everything because she thinks he gives the best advice.

• Lana had to give him “the talk”.
• She just wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to hurt Kit in any way.

• And that’s why Jimmy is so protective of Kit.
• He won’t let go of him for one minute.
• He doesn’t like holding his hand in public because he thinks Kit will be harassed for being with a freak.
• Kit doesn’t care.
• He hates when Jimmy tries to hide his hands or when he wears his gloves.
• “You have nothing to be ashamed of, you should be proud of your hands!”
• Jimmy would fight anyone to protect Kit.
• He gets mad pretty easily so Kit has to keep him from getting in fights with random strangers that insult him or call Jimmy a freak.
• He’s even more aggressive when he’s drunk.
• He has three moods: he’ll try to fight everyone, cry about his Ma or try to convince Kit to have sex with him.
• Sometimes he doesn’t even recognize Kit when he’s drunk.
• He calls him “Ma” or “Maggie”, sometimes he even thinks he’s Dell and yells at him for abandoning him.
• Kit has to take care of Jimmy because he makes stupid decisions when he’s drunk.
• Jimmy promised to stop drinking if Kit quitted smoking.
• It was hard at first because Kit is a stress smoker and he’s always stressed.
• Eventually, he managed to quit.
• Jimmy was so proud of him.
• Kit loves to be praised.
• He has the biggest praise kink.
• He just really likes being told that he’s doing good.
• Jimmy is always there to tell him he’s great.
• Kit likes to wear Jimmy’s shirts to sleep.
• He feels so safe when he’s on Jimmy’s arms.
• Jimmy really knows how to make him relax… if you know what I mean.
• Kit feels so safe and loved when he’s around Jimmy, that he can actually manage to have a peaceful night of sleep.

As he navigated their way to the basement, Sam wondered why the hell he had opened his big stupid mouth about this place. It was all fine and dandy when there was nothing haunting the upstairs, but the basement was basically a beacon for trouble. Some girl murdered her whole family down there, that was bound to leave its mark. And it wasn’t like he could chicken out either, because he was with Sawyer and he had his dignity to hold onto.
“Are you absolutely one-hundred percent sure you want to go down there? Because if you don’t, that’s totally cool.” Sam asks as he shines the flashlight down the old, dusty stairs. It was so dark down there, he couldn’t even make out anything beyond the sixth step. Maybe she’d change her mind… Or not, as she confirmed she wanted to explore the basement.
With a nod, he mutters quietly to himself as he takes the lead, “fuck my life.” Sam didn’t feel nearly as brave as he was acting, but he’d take the brunt of whatever hell awaited them to keep her safe. Mentally talking himself through the scared feelings, Sam slowly descends the stairs until his feet meet the concrete floor at the bottom. 
“Watch that last step,” he tells her as he shines the light on it. They start to look around now for, well, anything of interest. A ghost, a monster, a… Was that a body? “Holy shit!” He exclaims as he stumbles back a few steps, nearly tripping over an old bucket on the floor.
As Sawyer rejoins him to see what the commotion was, he shines the beam with a shaky hand at some humanoid looking thing on the floor. “What the fuck is that?! Is that a body?” He was almost afraid to get a closer look, so he kept his distance. As she steps forward though, he grabs her arm stopping her.
“Are you crazy? What if that thing jumps to life and tries to eat your brain? This town has fucking vampires and hybrids and shit, I don’t think zombies are out of the realm of possibility,” he argues as she gives him a look. “We’re kids with flashlights, how do you expect to fight a zombie? You can’t kill the undead. They’re already dead.”

“Well, Hollywood also says you need silver bullets to kill a werewolf and vampires sleep in coffins during daylight. What if he’s like Jason from Friday the 13th and can’t die?” Breathing out an anxious sigh though, he looks back toward the body as he, once again, takes the lead. “Fine. I’ll check it out,” he mutters as he cautiously and hesitantly approaches it. 
Kneeling down, he closes his eyes as he reaches to turn the form over. “Please don’t come alive, please don’t come alive.” Opening them though, he finds that it isn’t a body at all. It was some kind of dummy, or Halloween prop. “Oh.” Well, now he was rather disappointed it didn’t come alive and try to eat him. What a waste. If this were a horror movie, this would have been the worst fucking plot twist ever.
Coming back over to her, he informs, “it’s not even real! This is the worst fucking haunted basement ever.”
