The people living in the city of Mondstadt have their suspicions but these two are too stubborn to admit it, eventually Rosaria noticed them heading alone somewhere so she's listening in to their conversation to see if people were right.

kaeya once made little ice crystals at the angels share (like his burst but a smaller version) and diluc just grabbed one, put it in his mouth, and cronched it.

kaeya makes an effort to refrain from using his vision in front of diluc from that point onward

hands laced together, almost gingerly - as though with too much strength one could shatter in an instant, as the moon peeked through the satin curtains of each and every window. the room, barely illuminated thanks to the limited candles and glowing visions, echoed with the soft music from a phonograph's vinyl record and footsteps. the floor's faint reflection of soft blue and red lights was more than enough. for once, marianne smiled. it was in moments like this where she felt she could ever do so - to smile, to be herself... to love, and be loved. and for once, the darknight hero - or rather, the uncrowned king of mondstadt, could rest easy, even for a brief moment. but nonetheless sleepless souls hold each other close, unspoken love conveyed through chaste kisses on the crown of marianne's head, or chaste kisses on diluc's cheeks - ah, if only a moment this quiet and tender could last for much longer... at the very least, marianne was more than content with this, even as a hushed i love you is spoken in a single breath.

A winter event where we get to see Diluc in a scarf and getting caught admiring the snow would fix me. I know it would.

The peacefulness of it? The stillness broken only by the sound of the falls near the winery? His red hair and dark coat a stark contrast to the flurries that dash about as he makes his way to Mondstadt?Immaculate.

Genshin Impact AU where everything is the same, but Diluc decides (as a side gig to managing the winery) to open a cafe since he doesn't like alcohol. He still works Angel's Share, but I could see him liking barista work and also liking coffee/cafe drinks.

And so it plays again, like so many nights before and as it will for many nights to come. The night of his 18th birthday. The death of his father. The revelation of his brother. How quickly his world was ripped away from him and how lost he felt. The anger he felt. The hopelessness he felt. And then the rage.

And then, tracing it all like scars across burned and tender skin- regret. The frustration of it all, knowing that he had done too much and pushed too many away in a fit of desire to solve it himself, to bring about that retribution for the wrongs and for what was taken from him- from his father- whether it was friends or otherwise.

Kaeya... Diluc furrows his gaze, thinking about their fight, how they had parted ways. It was a silence he was unaccustomed to. To think his own light, as well as Kaeya’s, were both taken at the same time, leaving him stumbling in the dark like a naive fool. Even now, returned to Mondstadt from his ‘bender’ as some had called it, that light wasn’t back. There’s a bitterness, an awkwardness- so many walls that had been put up and cobbled together out of the many bright memories the two siblings had shared.

What would it take to tear it down, so that dawn could break over that horizon again? What windows would they have to make? What sacrifices would they have to stomach? And what then? Could things go back to how they were after all these revelations, all these other walls and curtains torn away in the burning house that once was his comfortable picturesque life? Was it even worth it? Could it even be done?

“We’re fine.” 

Yes. There has to be.

This will be solved between us alone. Just like it started.

despite the sad and tired eyes, the cryo allogene raises her head just a bit more after meeting those familiar, fiery red eyes she knew from yore. she smiles, knowing despite the hardships and turmoil everyone was forced to endure - was life truly that cruel? - she knew this was that very same friend from their childhoods. the same friend that fed the birds by her side in silence, the same friend that gave her comfort the night her parents were called home by the gods... if only she extended that same comfort when crepus met the same fate.

maybe then diluc wouldn’t have had to endure so much pain. and yet what wishful thinking marianne had considered...

“and i, you,” marianne responds after a brief bout of silence. the healer steps closer, and a hand reaches out in invitation. no further action is made, lest this gesture in offering an embrace was accepted and reciprocated. “... welcome home, my friend.~”
