concept art/character design for an acachalla centric horror story i've been brainstorming since last school year ^_^ still havent finalized any of these designs, i feel like they need a little more tweaking...

WARNING: blood, body horror, the mangled corpse of a dead animal, guns, crowbars, medical equipment and general medical imagery, and all around just weird and gross stuff

ADDITIONAL WARNING: really fucking long

story and images under the cut:

i imagine the premise is that sue, at the police station, gets a call from the acachallas like in canon. she decides to go to their house to help, alone because her coworkers are all busy/hate her (theyve been in the force long enough to go corrupt while sue still tries to do whats right)

when she goes in she discovers that the acachallas have been dead for like 10 years and their bodies are barely even intact. she also notices that their house is trashed, not only does it seem completely reclaimed by nature, covered in fungus and insects and blood, but a lot of their furniture and appliances are missing. their rooms look like theyre missing all that wouldve signaled the character of whomever inhabited it, and she thinks, well, maybe the house was looted after they died, but that doesn't explain who called...

then she accidentally steps in a pile of fungus. which wasnt there before. she turns around and a man, fully formed, has sprouted out of the ground. he is made almost entirely out of mushrooms and he has 2 shotguns for arms. he tells her to leave his house. she starts to run but then another figure stops her. a very tall woman who speaks in the same voice that called the police department. her form is indiscernible in the dark, but soon sue comes to realize this woman is not human.

she's not even alive.

sue meets the others and, sure enough, they all seem to be amalgamations of various household objects, both inorganic and organic matter, forming crude fascimiles of who they once were. there are 5 bodies and 5 of them, so they must be possessed by the immortal spirits of the acachallas...!

of course, it turns out they never needed help. it was merely a trap to lure sue home.

they accept her and care for her far more than her biological family or "friends" at work ever did. but being with them takes a toll on sue's body. eventually she dies and they build a new body for her. she wakes up as a beautiful monster. she wakes up as herself.

you're going to notice none of these drawings are of sue- that's because she's still just a regular human in this. by the end she might become a horrifying monster like the rest of them, but i havent designed her.

i took inspiration from a variety of sources, but i can only remember some of them off the top of my head:

undertale (lorewise the whole thing about monsters dust being spread on their favorite object so they can live in it, also photoshop flowey designwise was a huge inspiration)

deltarune (largely just the enemy designs)

dont hug me i'm scared (the teacher's designs, general vibes, also lamp's explanation of what happens when someone dies in episode 2 of the tv show)

tipping point (literally just stylistically. i need to learn digital collage to properly portray these designs)

tokusatsu (the costumes for the gorma in gosei sentai dairanger are like. really good. i enjoy their designs severely)

communications era ghost and pals mvs (the collage stuff speaks to my soul)

and thats all i can remember rn. now heres the first pictures i drew of each member of the family (on my world history notes) and the most recent draft of their designs (in mspaint) this is basically all of the drawings of them.

beginning with spencer, he's the smallest of the family at only 4 feet tall. he is made out of his computer and manga collection basically. on each of these i left a lot of notes in the pictures breaking down what each part of the body is made out of. i wanted to incorporate figurines and action figures into his design too but i decided to keep it more focused. but all these designs are still subject to change. a teacher walked by as i was drawing him and said she liked how it was "very industrial but feminine" or something like that.

sally! im not entirely sure what that first sketch is but as you can tell i wanted her to be wearing a doll mask from the start. i gave her this big poofy princess dress to conceal where godzilla connects to the shelves that act as her legs because it looked very strange and did not look like the shelves were her legs. the dress turns into curtains which are draped over her shelves. she was very hard to design but very fun. also i just chose random dolls and stuff i know g3 draculaura and kylie and pnp sasha are like recent dolls that wouldnt exist yet. its a mockup ok

next we got billy who is built out of his own medical supplies. i wanted to make his body one of those IV drip stands, although that means both him and spencer have very similar lower halves, with the wheels. hes the only one who doesnt really wear any clothes because billy doesnt really have an iconic outfit; the only thing i remember he wears is obviously his medic outfit but thats like. a whole outfit. i dont understand the layers of it so i can just put part of it on this thing. maybe i shouldve just given him scrubs. or what i think billy would wear that represents him

gertrude having a dead cat as her hair is a reference to a really specific one-off joke i read about on the wiki but dont actually remember from any of the videos. i think hair is a very important part of self expression so they would want to recreate their hairstyles with whatever they could find. it was hard as hell getting that cat into a shape that made literally any sense but i think i figured it out. her outfit is a combination of what she normally wore and her old costume as the crowbar, which i was inspired to design my version of as well (will post that drawing later). i think its very interesting how gertrude seems to exist to trap and keep safe or detain/kill various dangerous beings. shes like a shepherd but also an executioner.

papa acachalla doesnt have a draft cause this was literally the first time i tried drawing him in this story because i was stuck on trying to imagine what hed be made out of and how he would look like. then i remembered fungus comes in all shapes and forms and also works as a metaphor for his connection with his family and his roots. also his arms are guns LOL! i wanted to make him more catholic but i couldnt come up with how while still having him look like papa acachalla. maybe adding that priest collar cause i think father grigori has it anyways but its hard to draw stuff around his neck area.

#poolverse - An nextgen AU revolving around an alternate AVOS cast. It's set in the aftermath of a very different OotS where the Clans decide to abolish the borders and attempt to live peacefully...to mixed results. This is a soft reboot of my older "new generation au"!

Years after the reconstruction of Cybertron, and it’s newly revised government, there are now many more individual situations that have arisen from the aftermath.

i aim to remain as accurate as possible to the character, but i will occasionally throw in some small headcanons or otherwise non-canon content if i see fit. dont worry though, they wont be super outlandish or anything, im a loyal keating devotee so i would never stray too far.

4-Year Anniversary! + Writeblr Re-intro (again)

My blog turns 4 years old today! I didn't even realize its anniversary was coming up, but I'm glad I didn't miss it! A lot has happened in those 4 years that I won't get into but I have NOT given up on my stories. I've been slowly cooking them over the years, sautéing them til they're juuust right. Just you wait.

Hello everyone! My name is Kianna Arroyo (she/her). I'm a Mexican-American college student studying botany. Welcome to my little corner of the Internet! Here, you'll find lots of writing advice from other people, writing memes, and (of course) some of my own projects!

About my writing:

I write mainly fantasy. My other genres include sci-fi, thriller, mystery, and action/adventure.

Specifically my works revolve around stuff like magical realism, dark fantasy, superheroes and villains, superpowers, non-human POVs, dimension-hopping, mythologies, deities, "minor" fourth-wall breaking, and lots of shenanigans involving my OCs.

Most of my projects are geared toward the middle-grade and young adult audiences, but I have some adult projects as well.

I'm not a fan of romance so the majority of the relationships in my stories are either familial or platonic.

I'm not kidding when I say that it took several read throughs before I sent this 😭 I was just wondering if you'd mind linking any marvel meta and critiques pertaining to civil war and the accords, endgame, tfatws, tony, peggy, and the way steve and bucky's characters were treated.

context: I'm trying to explain some things to a friend of mine, but I just know there's posts that explain it better than I can. I spent over an hour scrolling through various tags and I really struggled to find my favourites.

I hope this doesn't sound too demanding, and feel free to ignore it if you're busy or you don't want to do it. This is my defining WTF Endgame article. I don't see how anyone can argue against it. There is no explanation or reasoning to give out to the obvious and intentional erasure of Steve and Bucky out of Endgame's story narrative and why it doesn't fucking matter if you like the ship or the characters at all, erasing them, denying it, failed the set up of the story structure and the basics of arc complete writing.

I was drawn in by it's argument on the "Bucky is alive!" moment of Endgame critic, because it highlights that the movie itself knows Stucky makes more narrative sense and importance and therefore uses it, but of course won’t let it be acknowledged. America’s ass is on display, just not the one they think.

I'm being really critical of Peggy's character being so beloved lately, examining my past defense of, but I think this article is the bomb on why Endgame's Steggy is dismissive of the pairing and characters whether you like them or not. In that Karli read more villain than John Walker to me, despite show intent, and it needs massive overhaul, because it's message sucked in many many ways. And I thought Sam and Bucky did come of as morally wrong and kinda massive jerks in comparison to Walker, as did the ethics of the Flagsmashers, the Dora.

That doesn't mean I've any love or interest in the John Walker character independently, as Jessica Jones season 1 did that style story better...it's a story meh in comparison to what I want which is a focused Sam story...and I certainly have no love or respect for Zemo's addition likewise. Where to go with the Captain America stories and ethics of the characters is so f'ed right now.

While I will tag for a specific meme if asked, I’d overall prefer to tag for the meme in question, rather than simply “unreality”. For a number of reasons, I’m distinctly uncomfortable with the idea of labeling stuff on my blog with “unreality”, starting with what that implies about a lot of the other stuff I post about and continuing into the ways that interacts with my own discomfort around surveillance, loudly reality-checking strangers, etc. I personally would not feel safer, were I in such a position, to be getting my grip on reality from strangers online placing it in my hands, though maybe that’s just a me problem.

While I am happy to do my best to tag things for almost whatever you want, as best my sometimes iffy short term memory allows. There are, however, some things that I absolutely and flatly refuse to tag for, for reasons pertaining to my own well-being, and that would probably render such tagging useless for anyone who asks anyway. Those are: food, body shapes of any kind and scars or other permanent type injuries, or sexual stuff. There might be some others, see above with my memory problems, but those are main ones that I know I can’t do. As said above, I’m also probably not going to be able to tag for unreality, though I can absolutely tag for a given meme, or for fictional stuff, I can tag “story”. If you want, you can ask or message and I can try to work something out, with my own boundaries in mind too.

I. DISCLAIMER

II. ACTIVITY

Most of the time I reply in the order of how I receive things, though there are times when I may feel like doing one type of reply over another.  Depending on the time I have, it’s likely that I’ll prioritize short responses and the stuff in my ask box and save longer responses for days when I have more time to write. This is a low-activity blog, please wait at least a week before reminding me of a reply I owe. Things slip through the cracks sometimes, but I'll never intentionally ignore anyone. Building on that, please don't constantly bug me for a reply, it's a good way to make me not want to do it.

III. FOLLOWING

Most of the people who follow me, I tend to follow back. I’m not very selective in that regard and honestly, I’m down to roleplay most things within reason. That said, on the off chance that I do unfollow or don’t follow at all please don’t take it personally. I don’t like a cluttered dash. I don’t follow personals. I don’t like drama. And usually, if I don’t know the fandom or am not well versed in it I may not follow for that reason either. If I haven’t followed back and you want to roleplay with any of my muses don’t hesitate to tell me. You could see an obvious way to do so, but that doesn’t mean I do. If I like the idea I’ll be more than willing to do it with you as long as it fits my characters!

IV. SHIPPING

I absolutely love shipping (romantic, platonic, antagonistic, all the above!!). When it comes to romantic ships unless otherwise stated all my muses are multiship. There needs to be chemistry, of course, but I'm easily convinced, lol. Some muses will be easier to woo than others, so please keep that in mind!! (Also should anyone want pre-established stuff, I’m always down to plot!! )

V. NSFW

I’m not into smut. It’s likely you will never find smut on this blog or any blog or mine. If somehow I am convinced, it would be underneath a read more and tagged appropriately. If I were to ever do it, both the mun and muse cannot be underaged. There could be allusions to sex, but likely never the act itself. I’d have to know you pretty well and be comfortable with you to even consider it.

VI. TRIGGERS

As far as triggers go… I don’t have any to speak of. As long as the obvious things like blood & gore (slasher film level stuff specifically), and sex are labeled it’ll be fine. Should you need a certain thing tagged and I don’t do it, please let me know. I read all the rules but my memory can be shoddy, so do not hesitate to remind me.

VII. EXCLUSIVES

I don’t do exclusives. I don’t personally like it that much. I don’t mind if other people do it, but I’m not comfortable doing it myself. I don’t like to limit the people I roleplay with if that makes sense.

#Joelkémons normally pertains to questions about comparing them or idk the fact that they exist. And joelkémon is a term someone made up referring to this blog's different Joels (see FAQ on my header for more on that)

Hey Hi Hello!!

Proper post now so I have to reiterate, this blog is run by @soup-for-ghosts (they/them)! It revolves around a personal project called Garden of Blue Sky and its story and characters.

This blog will mostly be for me posting art related to the project, info dumping about the sometimes complicated lore, and also answering any asks about the project (which are both very welcome and very appreciated!).

I don’t think I have to outline any rules, in general just don’t be gross or disrespectful. Transphobes, homophobes, ableists, proshippers, etc. etc. kindly don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Also if you’re just gonna be a jerk, you can follow them out too. If I have to say more than that as far as rules go, I will, but for now I think that’s good.
