Allison brought a round of beers to the table. "Thanks for coming out, you two! When Cam and Ronnie caught norovirus I thought we'd never find substitutes for science and history. Everyone's an expert in movies or celebrity drama or whatever, we've already got those!" They didn't know Allison too well, she was one of Rea's coworkers and they were friendly with her, at least.

"It's no issue," Thanatos replied smoothly. "We usually go out on Tuesday nights. Hopefully we can lend support to the team."

"Thanatos," said Rea, and from aer tone he could already tell this was going to be an inane question, "what is 'pub quiz'?"

He sighed. "I've already explained this to you. We compete to answer the questions and whoever gets the most wins a prize." Ae was pretending to be a ditz again, one of aer private jokes. Thanatos knew aer memory was perfect and that ae was capable of retaining a concept such as bar trivia for longer than three hours, but if Rea wanted to make Allison and Jace think ae was stupid until the game began, he supposed that was aer prerogative.

"You're… sure ae's an expert?" Jace had certainly fallen for it.

"Oh, certainly. Anything to do with science or mathematics, ae'll have a comprehensive response ready for you near-instantly. If ae feels like it, that is." At present, ae was draining the pint in several long gulps and stifling a belch. Not exactly backing up Thanatos's statement. "I'll be writing the answers for aer, you don't even want to see aer handwriting…" Or the fact ae couldn't read.

Rea had finished another two pints by the time the questions were being read out, and Allison was clearly wondering how ae wasn't drunk yet but rationalizing it as being related to aer height. "Ae's gonna be all right, isn't ae?"

"I'm having fun!" said Rea, and Thanatos shook his head.

"Ae's fine."

Thanatos knew his husband wasn't even close to impaired, and aer answers to the trivia proved it. Every response within aer knowledge was delivered clearly, concisely, and immediately, and not just in regard to science. Apparently ae'd been picking up popular culture from that video app ae was always on… Between the two of them, they managed to pull out a perfect score, with only a minor amount of assistance from Allison and Jace.

"Sleepy, Thanatos…"

"I know, love." Now that ae'd had aer little joke, it was time to go home. He didn't expect Allison to invite them to do this again. "Did you have your fun? You've been a bit ridiculous, you know."

Ae giggled. "Yeah." Absolutely incorrigible.
