When you’d asked Crowley to come on a picnic with you, he’d grumbled a bit for an hour or two and then finally caved. You’d known that he would. He couldn’t say no to you even if he tried. He was enraptured by you. Utterly and completely. 

You’d given him a kiss on the cheek and asked him to be ready the next day around ten in the morning. You’d sort everything out except the wine. If he wanted that, he’d have to pick which one. Not that you or he minded that particular task. Crowley was quite the connoisseur with his wines. 

That left you to sort the blanket, snacks and cutlery. Not a problem. You’d spent the afternoon shopping for things that you might like to bring. An expensive cheese, some nice crackers, cheese board meats and some scones. That would probably do you, given that Crowley didn’t eat much- it would mostly be you nibbling on things, but you might manage to get him to try the cheese, maybe. 

The next morning you were waiting excitedly by the door, hat and basket grasped in one hand, and phone in the other. Crowley had said he’d text you when he was there to get you, and it was now 10:01 in the morning. Crowley wasn’t usually late to things, and just as you were about to start worrying- you heard the telltale sounds of Bentley rubber on asphalt. 

You locked the door behind you, settled your belongings safely in the backseat and sat down on the passenger side. 

“Good morning,” you beamed as Crowley took off towards the secluded picnic area you’d picked out for you both. 

“Morning,” Crowley replied, giving you a soft but tired smile. Ah, not a morning person, then. 

You both made idle conversation on the hours drive up to the picnic location, and you found yourself learning a lot of things about Crowley on the way. Namely, that his driving terrified you, and secondly, that he listened to a lot of Queen. Like, a lot of Queen. 

“Sorry,” he said, changing the station on the radio only for it to settle on another Queen track. “The old girl likes her Queen.” He petted the dashboard of his car and you nodded as if that explained anything. It didn’t. 

When you finally got to the picnic spot, you were definitely grateful for the chance to get out and stretch your legs. 

Crowley, ever the gentleman- took the things out of the backseat and set them up in the shade by a rather large oak tree. You both leaned up against it and Crowley broke out the wine he’d chosen. It looked old and expensive. You weren’t usually one for wine, but you took a glass from his outstretched hand anyway.

“For wine, this is surprisingly good,” you said thoughtfully, swishing the liquid around in the glass. 

“Mm- glad you think so,” Crowley replied with a charming smile. He took a sip of his own glass and sighed happily. “You know, this wasn’t such a bad idea after all. It’s quite nice, really, isn’t it.” 

You snorted as you shoved a cube of cheese into your mouth and shoved his shoulder lightly. 

Once you swallowed it down and once you both had finished off your glass of wine, you stood up and ushered him towards the lake across the grass. By the time you got there, there was a trail of clothes leading back to the tree.

Naked, you waded into the water. You sighed with relief as you discovered the water was the perfect temperature after being in direct sunlight all day. 

You waded further out and gestured towards Crowley with a come hither motion. He was powerless to resist and found himself wading in after you. He wasn’t usually one for being submerged in water, but he was so focused on you that it didn’t seem to bother him. 

You swam back towards him and coiled your legs around his waist. Unabashedly, you pressed your lips to his and were met with his split tongue. That was not unexpected, though, of course, as he did like to open up your kisses and deepen them as soon as he could. 

“Greedy,” you mocked with a sly grin. His tongue tasted of his expensive wine, and his arms wrapped around you to squeeze your ass. 

You rolled your hips back against his hands and delighted in the grunting noise he made in response. You pulled away from his lips to press kisses up his jaw. 

Crowley was watching you with hungry eyes as one of those hands trailed under your ass to slither closer to your cunt. He arched a brow in question as he softly rubbed the folds there- asking permission. 

With one hand, you reached down to grasp his own and rub his fingers against your hole in invitation. Crowley let out a very horny ‘ngk’ sound and plunged two fingers inside you. 

Your head drooped back, exposing your neck to Crowley who then eagerly nipped, sucked and bit at the skin until the column of your throat was mottled with hickeys and bruises. How you were going to cover these in the middle of Summer was a complete mystery to you, but you were sure you’d managed it. 

You could just hear Aziraphale taunting you now- “savagely mauled by a bear, were we?” 

The thought made your lips turn in a coy little smile, though they dropped open in a pleased moan when Crowley hooked his fingers into your g-spot rather ruthlessly. 

“Fuck, Crowley,” you whispered. Your arms tightened around his neck and with his spare hand, he pulled you closer onto his lap.

 

The water was a balm against your heated skin, and the juxtaposition of such different temperatures on your body only served to turn you on all the more. 

Crowley’s thumb rubbed at your clit then, tight little circles in just the right way that had you canting your hips towards his hand. 

“Crowley- don’t stop-” you panted, rolling your hips into his thumb, basking in the pleasure he was playing along your body. 

“Mm- no, don’t think I will, Pet,” he agreed, nosing at the side of your throat. “Reactions are far too pretty for me to stop, don’t you think?”

 

You nodded desperately, panting harder as you felt your body readying itself to cum. Releasing a whimper, you knew that Crowley wasn’t going to stop until you came for him. Your hips jerked, but he brought them right back into place. 

You cried out as that coil began to tighten, your muscles tensing all over as you got closer, and closer, and closer until-

“Cum for me, Pet,” he growled in your ear before licking a stripe up your neck. 

You cried out as the coil crashed open, causing you to shudder and jerk in Crowley’s arms. The water lapped around you at your skin and the pleasure coursed through you. Crowley cooed next to your ear, fingers finally starting to slow but still working you through it. 

“That’s it, love,” he comforted, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “That’s it. Good girl.” 

You slowly came down from that peak, melting into Crowley’s embrace quite happily. You could get used to this. 

“So- first picnic,” you said, swishing your hand in the water. “What do you think?” 

Crowley snorted behind his sunglasses. 

“I think we should do this more often.” 

You couldn’t agree more.

"So, how's everything going?" Lydia asks, following Kalim into Scarabia. It's been a few days since everyone appeared, Crowley still looking for a way to send them home. Kalim leads her to where Jeanne and Copper are, sitting in the main room of the dorm. He laughs before he responds, a smile lighting up his face.

"Everything's going great! Jeanne and Copper are so much fun. It's interesting to hear about how things are like in their world! Though, I would have liked to throw a welcome party for them..."

Lydia smiles at this, waving to Jeanne and Copper. "That's great to hear, Kalim. Have they been joining you around campus?" Kalim nods his head, moving to sit between them.

"Yep! They come to class with me, and to my club meetings. They're even gonna attend our concert next week!" He tells her with a smile, looking between the two. Lydia frowns for a moment, the thought that they may not be here next week crossing her mind. She wasn't going to ruin the mood though, nodding her head as she tried not to think about it.

"Where's Jamil?" She asks, changing the subject as she looks around the room. "Oh, he's in the kitchen! The others are there with him." He informs her, pointing down the hall. She thanks him, nodding to Jeanne and Copper before leaving.

She heads down the hall, entering the kitchen to find Jamil in front of the stove. Some of them are helping him cook while the others watch, sitting at the table. He glances towards the doorway when he notices someone enter, his features going soft as he realized who it was.

"Hey, Jamil! I just wanted to check in and see how you were." She starts, her voice causing him to turn. While he looked tired, he seemed to be holding up alright, and everyone was accounted for.

"Yuusha... made shirts." He states, sounding tired yet... the tiniest bit fond. At least he seems to like them, she thinks, finally taking notice of the clothes they were wearing.

Each person wore a shirt that said "Jamil Support Group", with flames coming up in the background. "Oh... how creative!" She says, unsure what the proper response was. She does a double take when she notices the stuffed animal around Mayu, almost looking like a realistic snake, with a red and black pattern. Jamil noticed where her attention was and sighed, moving to the sink.

"Apparently, it's supposed to be me... they worked together to make it."

"Him!" Mayu corrected, causing Jamil to shake his head. "It's noodle Jamil." She says, introducing him to Lydia. A small smile comes to her face as she pats the stuffed snake's head, thinking to herself how cute it was.

"Has everyone been getting along alright?" She asks him, Jamil leaning closer to make his response more private. He keeps his voice low, glancing whenever he mentions someone.

"Silas doesn't seem happy, but everyone else is getting along. They've been telling each other stories about their Jamil's, and follow me around campus when I'm out."

"Most of us refer to Jamil as 'babygirl', just like I thought." Astrid chimes in, redirecting Jamil's attention.

"Don't call me that." He states, crossing his arms. With his back turned, he was unaware of Kalim coming to the doorway, having heard some of their conversation.

"If you don't like babygirl, how about habibi?" Kalim adds, Jamil's head snapping towards him.

"Don't give them ideas!"

"Oh, can I have a shirt too?" Kalim asks Yuusha, becoming distracted. Jamil shakes his head, muttering "Are you even listening to me?" before dropping the subject. He focuses back on Lydia as Kalim and Yuusha talk in the background, Rebecca and Fayrouz plating the finished food.

"So, you're checking in with everyone?"

"Yep!" She says, nodding her head. "I already checked in with Ryoko and Kiyuu, who's with Jack. I also checked in with Daisy while I was there, since Ruggie was nearby. And Malleus is taking his group to look at gargoyles, since he's curious to know if the ones we have are different from the one's in their worlds."

"Is that why Sebek's been running around campus?"

She laughs awkwardly as she nods. "Malleus didn't tell him where they were going, and he doesn't trust them yet. So he's worried about Malleus being alone with them."

Jamil's eyebrows raise at this, having seen them around campus. While he didn't know their names, they seemed harmless, and didn't mean any trouble. Lydia laughs at his reaction, having thought the same thing.

"If you've met Chris, Leota, Sophie, or Ellis, you'd know how much they care about Malleus. I mean, you could probably see it too, just by how they act around him. But, you know how Sebek is..."

Jamil nods, Lydia checking her phone for the time. "Oh, I better get going! I still have a few people I need to see." She says, walking over to the doorway. She waves goodbye to everyone, Jamil watching her go.

"Should I make a shirt for her too?" Yuusha teases, Jamil giving her a look as she smiles to herself. After a moment he shakes his head, making his way to the table. He better eat, before the food gets cold...

Lydia heads to Ignihyde next, asking Ortho how Perse and Yuya were. She felt bad for not meeting with them directly, but she didn't want to risk seeing Idia, and kept her distance from the group. Ortho informed her that they both seem to be doing well, and that they spend most of their time with him or Idia's tablet, since Idia hasn't left his room.

"The Board Game Club should have a meeting tonight, so he'll leave his room then. Have Perse and Yuya join him." Lydia tells him, with Ortho agreeing to do so.

She moved on to Pomefiore, making sure Flurin was good with Vil before looking for Rook. He wasn't at the dorm, and when she looked around campus, she found Hopper and Lysander. Just not him...

"Hmmm..." She hummed to herself, wondering where he could be. He was supposed to be watching them, after all. Wait...

"You know Rook, when I told you to look after them, I didn't mean like this!" She shouts, looking up at the trees. Rook is hidden between some branches, high enough to where you wouldn't see him at first glance. She waits a moment for him to come down, shaking her head at his explanation. She understands he's a hunter, and while she appreciates him trying to make things more exciting, she needs him to stay with them. They couldn't afford to lose someone else...

"... Actually, Rook, go back up in the trees. Maybe you can find Yuu Shi for me..."

After standing under the trees for a bit (and Yuu Shi still nowhere to be found...), Lydia moves on to Octavinelle, passing by Ace along the way.

"... Ace, where's Ashi?" She questions, noticing he was by himself.

"Oh, I think she's back with Deuce. Wh-"

"Ace, stay with Ashi... please! We've already lost Yuu Shi, we can't afford to lose someone else!" She exclaims, anxiety on her face as she grabs his jacket, shaking him as she speaks to emphasize her point.

"Woah, woah! Calm down, Lyds." He says, grabbing her wrists to make her stop. He looks down at her as he moves her hands away, doing his best to ease her worries.

"She probably went off on her own somewhere, and I doubt she's in any danger."

"Still..."

"Alright, alright. I'm going..." He puts his hands up, turning around. "I'll be back later to visit, alright?"

"Ok, sounds good!" She says, a smile coming to her face. She waves him goodbye before continuing on her way, making it to Octavinelle. She just had to check in with Shuu and Jewel, and then she could go have lunch with Cecil and Yuuki. At least, that was her plan, entering the Lounge to find Floyd had left his shift early, taking Jewel with him.

Azul spots her quickly, making his way over as Shuu followed. She's thankful he at least listened, and hasn't been using Shuu for free labor. (At least, that she knows of...)

"Lydia, do you mind?-" She interrupts him before he could finish, already knowing what he was gonna ask.

"Let me get my apron..." ♡

All the Draconias can basically spawn a flower garden when they are at the peak of their happiness. 🌹✨⚘

Each Draconia has different flowers that they can summon (maybe because they resonate a lot with its meaning?).

For example Malleus' flower was Wisteria, and its meaning is described on this post.

I like the thought of Malleus and Malenoa overreacting when they receive affection-- So, I'm just imagining that Malenoa once drowned Levan in a waterfall of roses once he received a "marriage proposal" from him‼️

Why did I make Levan refer to Malenoa as Malle-chan? Well--- the gargoyles from the GloMas event referred to Malleus as Mare/Malle/Mal. Since that event seems to correlate to Briar Valley and Levan a lot, I'd like to imagine that Levan once gave Malenoa a nickname such as Malle-chan or something cute like that-- YOUKNOW LIKE HOW IN MALLEYUU THERES TSUNOTAROU--‼️🤭🤭🤭🤭✨✨✨

And, Levan seems to be twisted from Diablo (pet bird of Maleficent who got turned into a stone by one of the 3 fairies)

I love how she referred to Levan as the only person she can rely on because you can relate it on the part where Malleus couldn't confide with anyone about his fear of losing Lilia--- SO!!! he went to visit Yuu—🥲💖

In that way, you can correlate it with Malleus viewing Yuu as "the only one he can depend on" as well 😭‼️💕

Crowley before The Fall

Ok, so I love angelology, it's so interesting to me and is one of the main reasons I found out about Good Omens.

We all know Crowley used to be an angel and helped build some nebulas, but that was it from season 1.

I found interesting this comment from season 2

"You'd have to be a throne or a dominion, or above".

Crowley had access to the files, meaning he was a very high ranking angel, let me explain:

In christian catholic angelology there's 9 chorus (types of angels) divided into 3 ranks (being the 1st rank the highest) so we have:

1st rank

• Seraphim

• Cherubim

• Thrones

2nd rank

• Dominions

• Virtues

• Powers

3rd rank

• Principalities (Here's Aziraphale)

• Archangels

• Angels

Considering the duties from the 1st rank and dominions (from the 2nd rank) I consider Crowley was a throne, here's why:

- Seraphim are the caretakers of God's throne, continuously singing "holy, holy, holy", they have 3 pairs of wings and they use one of the pairs to cover their faces from the light of God. "The Burning One".

- Cherubim protect the entry into the garden of Eden, and they continue to guard holy spaces where God dwells and Heaven and Earth overlap. "The One who Blesses". (Aziraphale has the characteristics of a Cherub, but I'll explain that on another post).

- Thrones hold the throne of God, they're depicted as great wheels containing many eyes, and reside in the area of the cosmos where material form begins to take shape. They mete out divine justice and maintain the cosmic harmony of all universal laws.

- Dominions help keep the world in proper order, they're know for delivering God's justice into just situations and help angels in lower ranks stay organized to perform their work well.

"Let there be matter, let there be gravity, let there be everything from pages 11 to 3,000,602 inclusive".

Crowley: Gravity, it's, umm... A thing that happens when objects are pulled together. In this case, they're all pulled downwards because the earth is the largest thing around.

Jim: Why?

Crowley: Honestly, I don't remember. Seemed like a good idea when we were all talking about it.

Crowley made the nebulas Elephant's Tank, Carina and Horsehead (with Saraqael); also helped create the star factory (universe).

Also, at The Fall, some angels from every chorus fell, so it would be no surprise if a throne fell as well.

timeline rundown

tbh this is mainly just for my reference and i will probably come back to it at a later date; a lot of other much cleverer people are spotting some scenes that appear to be out of order, and before deep-diving into scrutinising each scene and frame, i decided to (for the first run, anyway - im sure others have gotten much further ahead, but i personally like to do my own research) just go with a surface-level, basic approach of looking for time indicators.

edit 02/01: additions!!!✨

couple of notes:

this is initially going with the assumption that no fuckery is going on, and only highlights where things appear to be consistent or inconsistent

on the clockhands, and which way round to read them, this caused me no end of headache. for example, reading the ornate hand as the hour makes ep6 sensical, but then makes ep1 gibberish (and vice versa). so, im doing both! and colour coding them!

blue: ornate hand is the hour, other hand is the minute

orange: ornate hand is the minute, other hand is the hour

green: a timestamp that isn't shown by the clock, or has been surmised/hypothesised.

you can make your own conclusion as to which reads make the most sense, but i'll be adding commentary anyway!!!✨

episode 1:

aziraphale gets maggie's letter: the only thing we know is that the bookshop is closed which, given aziraphale's stunning opening hours policy, doesn't mean a whole lot but for the most part, he seems on average to open the shop between 9.30-10am, and close at 3.30pm

shostakovich: aziraphale gets the records and heads off to listen to them, saying that he will be doing so for the next 21 minutes. i know there have been theories out there stemming from mismatched serial number on the record - but for my money, the explanation is a bit more watsonian than that; that aziraphale has a certain amount of free time to chill out to some music before something else happens (ie., to me, before crowley arrives to the shop). therefore, i would say that it logically follows that the previous scene, and this one, is late afternoon after the shop closes.

crowley in st james' park: as the camera sweeps past buckingham palace, you can hear bell chimes in the background, likely posed as coming from big ben. it starts with the cambridge chimes melody, falls silent, and then rings the number of tolls for the hour. when the agent joins crowley on the bench, i can hear a count of five tolls, for 5pm. example of the 5pm toll here.

gabriel/jim arrives: when aziraphale pauses the record, it appears to be 4.20pm.

when jim is handed the hot chocolate, the main bookshop clock reads as 5.20pm, or 4.25pm. seems odd that there would be such a gap for the former, (albeit plausible given that aziraphale gets jim settled and fitted with a blanket etc.), but the latter is more likely.

- capture of the two preceding timestamps

shax and crowley again: crowley's phone reads as 10.35am which, needless to say, does not fit in the above and below timeline at all.

jim and aziraphale conversation continues: the main bookshop clock reads as 6.20pm, or 4.30pm. again, given that aziraphale immediately looks in the box after retrieving it from outside, makes the latter more likely. it also makes sense taking into account the following hypothesised timestamps.

aziraphale calls crowley: not time-stamped, but crowley notes that he is 'two minutes' away when aziraphale calls. jim doesn't appear to have moved, so presumably the call is made soon after the last scene, and when they are both in the café, it still seems to be fully open and running. if we accept that the start of ep1 is most likely around 4pm, and the aziraphale/jim conversation wraps up around 4.30pm-ish, this would make sense - that crowley arrives to the café around 4.40pm. they then obviously leave, and it cuts to:

maggie gives nina the record: same as the above; maggie remarks that she wants a little something "for the end of the day", and nina says she has to finish closing up. nina has cleared away the dishes from the boys' table, the café is has just emptied, and nina's colleague is getting ready to leave. if we treat this scene as concurrent with the "ah! gabriel!" scene, probably around 4.45pm.

crowley lightning strike: maggie is chucking away her tea bag, and nina is upending chairs. if we say that the "ah! gabriel!" and "so did i!" scenes together take maybe 5-10 minutes in-universe, could hazard that the lightning strike is around 4.50pm - 4.55pm.

interlude, where we then return to crowley getting back to his bentley, and it's nighttime. then gets abducted by beelzebub, before squealing off at 110mph+ back to the bookshop. there isn't a timestamp until:

from @katalina27ua (thank you!), crowley restores power: nina's phone reads as 9:02. this would suggest the morning, but i would suggest that given phones can be set to either the 12- or 24-hour clock, and coupled with darkness and emptiness outside, it's 9:02pm.

the dance: the main bookshop clock reads 1.45am, or 9.05pm.

episode 2:

"what comes after 'K'?": when aziraphale gets startled by jim, the main bookshop clock reads as around 6.53am, or 10.35am.

archangels arrive: the main bookshop clock reads as 09.55am, or 11.45am.

aziraphale starts playing the record: as has been pointed out by @canarybell, this scene is so clearly cut in half from the muriel-arrival scene* in ep3. possibly for timing issues, but still out of sequence of the above; im very tentatively putting the time of the main bookshop clock as somewhere around 11.40am or 8am... only the former could work in the ep2 timeline, but again, it is reasonably certain that this is cut from the beginning of ep3 where, in the context of that scene, it is most likely 8am*, and this scene's place in ep2 is just a continuity issue/post-filming to make up timings.

dirty donkey: no time-stamp, but going on face value of how packed the pub is, seems to be at least mid-late afternoon, or post-lunch weekend. im erring towards the former - that people have come in post-work, and it's somewhere around 3.30pm onwards.

jim remembers: the above makes sense with this scene in context, as the main bookshop clock reads 5.20pm or 4.28pm.

post-job flashback: when we return to aziraphale in modern day, and he calls for crowley, the main bookshop clock reads as 6.30pm.

crowley/nina conversation: the record store is still be open in this scene, which would be odd for 6.30pm onwards, albeit not impossible. the café is definitely closed (it's empty and you can see chairs on tables), and nina is only just leaving/finishing up the close. in which case, it makes sense that aziraphale dozed off for a couple of hours, crowley to have wandered off, and nina to have closed up (if her café closing time is, say, 6pm). so, im going with this being around 6.30pm also.

episode 3:

note: i miss out a fair few scenes in this episode and ep4, because a lot is so flimsy in the speculation. with scenes in the bookshop, we can help gauge time with the shops/crowds around it etc, but in ep3 - eg. when aziraphale is in the bentley - i don't think i have enough surrounding data to make a reliable estimate on when it is... so essentially, im just going on what timestamps we do have.

returning to *the muriel arrival scene from ep2: if we accept that this is meant to be joined with the ep2 scene, the main bookshop clock reads as, most likely, 8am (but reminder: could also be 11.40am) when he sits down to start going through the articles and drawn gabriel, which seems to take some time (given the next timestamp):

however, when muriel turns up at the door, and aziraphale pauses the record, the clock reads as what i think is 7.50am or 9.35am (quality is such that i can't quite tell which hand is which, but i think it's this way round). i think, however, given the continuation of the scene, the latter is the most likely:

cupperty: when aziraphale enters the main room with the teacups, the main bookshop clocks reads as 9.50am.

crowley enters: clock still reading as 9.50am.

- capture of all three preceding timestamps

a hefty jump forward to the gravity conversation: the main bookshop clock reads as 6.17pm, or 3.30pm.

another jump forward, when aziraphale gets to the graveyard, and borrows the phone: clock on the phone reads as 5.30pm.

crowley picks up the call: the main bookshop clock shows as around 5.25pm - 5.28pm - so a couple of minutes' difference, but still fairly reliable.

episode 4:

frankly this episode is anyone's guess, given that there's only two main scenes in modern day. but to start, aziraphale is obviously driving back during the night, so possibly late evening/very early morning. he says that he is late, and so presumably he was meant to get back to london before nightfall/at least, before its very late in the evening.

aziraphale parks up: nina's phone in the café reads as 6.47am. this is supported by the background crashing sounds; with lots of restaurants around, likely bin lorries emptying the bottlebanks/bins.

episode 5:

the opening, when aziraphale leaves to go invite the other shopkeepers, shows that the bookshop is closed but the café and marguerite's is open; the former doesn't really mean jack shit, but i reckon marguerite's is likely to be a lunch/dinner joint. so, with that in mind, likely to be sometime in the afternoon.

crowley has his 'oh' moment, and whistles aziraphale over: we obviously don't know how long crowley has been sat there, but long enough that the patrons have swapped over - so let's say maybe an hour, and again still likely afternoon.

crowley then leaves to go confront gabriel, and aziraphale presumably follows up behind him shortly after. when crowley returns downstairs, and aziraphale is sprucing up the shop: quality is once again dogshite so i can't be sure which way round the hands are, but fairly certain the main bookshop clock reads as 12.30pm or 6pm. the latter seems the most likely, given the following scenes/dialogue:

aziraphale sends out crowley to find nina and maggie, and make sure "they are on their way" - it indicates that the party, set to start at 6.30pm, is soon. rightly enough, crowley pops round to the record store and it's closed, but maggie is inside - and nina has closed up the café and set to leave also.

mrs sandwich and then mr brown arrive: the main bookshop clock reads as around 6.20pm - 6.30pm, but we then don't get a clear shot of the clock for the rest of the episode. we know it suddenly gets really dark as soon as nina flies into the bookshop, but given the demon raid going on outside it's not really a reliable indicator of time.

so up until now, ive been pretty certain that the orange timestamps are the more correct, as they seem to flow the most with the general in-universe happenings of the story, and correlate most with the external green timestamps of the eps. however, ep6 goes very screwy in this respect, and it seems that the blue timestamps suddenly become the more accurate.

episode 6:

demons enter, attack, and the bookcase falls/maggie and nina hold them off with fire extinguishers: the main bookshop clock reads as 2.30am or 6.12am.

crowley comes back from heaven, and the demons arrive: the main bookshop clock reads as 6.02am or 12.30am/pm.

just before the gabriel/beelzebub flashbacks: the clock still reads as just gone past 6am or 12.30am/pm.

gabriel returns: the main bookshop clock, over maggie's shoulder, is out of focus so i can't quite see which way round the hands are, but i think reads as either 7am or 8am, or 11.37am, just before they're ushered out by crowley. either one of the two blue timestamps seems the most likely.

crowley drops off nina and maggie: nina remarks that she should have been open "half an hour ago", which if she normally turns up to open up the shop anywhere between 6.30am - 7am (as per her phone from the end of ep4 - 6.47am), makes 8am more likely - that she turns up at around 6.45am, ready to open at 7.30am.

angels and demons arguing: the main bookshop clock reads, just behind dagon's head, as approximately 08.25am or 4.40am/pm.

michael threatens aziraphale, and metatron arrives: the main bookshop clocks reads as 8am (9am?) or 12.43pm.

"extremely alcoholic breakfast at the ritz": reliably informs, for the avoidance of any doubt, that this scene is in the morning. indeed, when crowley gets out of the armchair, the clock shows again that its around 09.02am, or 12.45pm.

crowley tidies up the bookshop: the main bookshop clocks reads as 09.23am, or 4.47am/pm.

"id better start talking": the main bookshop clock reads as 09.25am or 5.45am/pm. it remains this time for the whole first half of the feral domestic, right up until the kiss.

crowley leaves, and metatron returns: the main bookshop clock now reads as approximately 09.40am or 8.47am. we are shown the scene in pretty close, tight-knit order, with no conceivable gaps in the scene where 20 minutes could have gone missing.

aziraphale leaves the bookshop: the clock remains at 09.40am or 08.47am

again from @katalina27ua! crowley at the bentley: the time on his watch reads as, at least (from what i can tell at the quality i have), within the ninth hour. however, the linked promo shot shows clearer - if we accept this to be taken directly from live filming etc - that the clockface reads ~09:15am. edit 03/01: however, there is a different promo photo where it appears that the minute hand is pointing just between the 4-5, reading at 09:25am (i have hit the photo limit but will add to the rb!)

so. couple of things to talk about here.

for the most part between eps 1-5, the clock has been pretty consistent with not only keeping track of time as scenes have developed etc., but also matching up with other instances of where a timestamp is given to us outside of the bookshop. with that in mind, it is highly likely that the clock is a reliable source of marking the in-narrative time of the story. this, for me, is evident with the orange timestamps - where the ornate hand is the minute hand, and other marks minutes.

however, when we hit ep6, it goes to shit. the orange timestamps (providing that ive tracked this all correctly - but error on my part is a very high possibility, i couldn't be bothered to go get pen and paper) suddenly go screwy, and it's the blue ones that make more sense.

we'll revisit that second point in a minute, but returning to the first point - this tells me a crucial thing (imo). first, that the clock can be accepted as the constant in the equation upon which to compare the variables. therefore, for example, crowley's bell tolls in st james' park, and his phone clock, are immediately apparent as 'out of sequence'. the same goes for the part in ep2 where aziraphale starts drawing gabriel - this of course could just be down to a non/extra-diegetic we-need-to-cut-ep3-but-plump-out-ep2 reason (and i think that's probably the case), but crowley's phone is so purposefully and blatantly (and arguably needlessly - could have just answered straightaway and achieved the same result) displayed with the 'wrong' time, that it doesn't feel accidental.

so if the timeline more likely follows the orange, why does it go completely bonkers in ep6, and instead start to follow the blue? god knows, i really don't have much of an answer beyond the "freaky-deaky time shit is going on", and maybe "the demon incursion/crowley going to heaven/the angel and demon stand-off/unreliable narratorship all round might be something to do with it." but to my mind, it is the blue timeline that suddenly makes narrative sense - it's likely morning, crowley supports this with "breakfast at the ritz", etc.

similarly, what is interesting to note is that despite neil's answer that the 20-minute skip during the kiss was a continuity error (and i will say, full disclaimer - perfectly prepared to still accept this as the truth), the crew/team seem to have been fairly hot on keeping the clock otherwise within continuity for the whole show. for a scene of this magnitude, where they know it's going to be emotionally upheaving for fans, leaving them gasping for an Explanation for how it all went down, and therefore scrutinise it for every little detail? sorry, im personally not buying that it wasn't deliberate... will probably end up eating my words, but there we are.

my brain has melted out of my ears trying to wrap my head around this, but i'll probably come back to it at some point with, no doubt, some corrections - and some further thoughts✨

The secret timeline inside of Good Omens season 2 revealed, *part2*

Part 1 l Part 2

The ineffable cut is explained in part 1. Please read that first. (I’ve burnt a timecode into this ineffable edit to help pick up the rhythm.)

So now that I've shown you XX:X6 is the number of the beast in the last installment, what else can we glean? Well, it turns out angel numbers (sequences of repeated numbers ex: 22:22 or 20:02) are quite important events in the S2 universe! I've cut together every "Angel Number" I could find in the timeline and put them in order. I first noticed this near the end of the ineffable cut, where Beelzebub and Gabriel hold hands, so I've started with that one just to give you an idea how bonkers this whole sequence is. Don't forget, sound on! Breakdown below the cut.

So we start off with this Beez and Gabriel sequence near the end of the cut. They start singing to each other a little out of time, but lo and behold, at 02:03:20 the music comes in right on time with the seconds ticking by to line them up. By the time they reach 03:33 they're gone.

Aziraphale is excited to get his "record"! He's doing something sneaky, and as a result opens the door to go off to said covert activity on 00:02:22.

Crowley asks "Do they know?" on 03:33. Who are they and why does he want to know? This whole scene is on a St-James park bench so spying and double speak is in progress, clearly.

Crowley then asks "Something big?" on 00:04:44. We get the hint for the main action of the entire second season here. Something's up with the up...

Now the real fun begins! I'll come back to the ones I just skipped in a later post because they're more subtle. Here's the first "real" angel number at 11:11. Aziraphale discovers THE box and touches it for the first time.

At 22:22 Nina and Maggie's signs are "mysteriously" ignored by a human passerby.

This is wild. Aziraphale is learning about the Everyday record and something funny happens. 33:31 Aziraphale says, " Do you have a copy?" 33:32 Maggie says, "Mm, too many of them" and at the same time a car horn beeps twice. 33:33 Aziraphale is startled by the fact that a double car horn happened on a XX:X2 and looks out the window in concern. So the question is: does Aziraphale feel or know the rhythm of the timestamps?? And are things that line up with numbers a signal he's paying attention to?

A funny one! At 44:44 Aziraphale seems to be wanting to check if Gabriel is really who he says he is, and is watching him like a hawk. Gabriel does all he can to do nothing at all and look innocent while the angel number passes by.

Another funny one. Nice. 55:55 reveals that the Bentley likes Aziraphale more than Crowley, and does whatever he wants, including not speeding when he puts his foot down.

This next one's a little peculiar. It seems like an exchange about Gabriel's whereabouts, but it's the halfway point of the edit (1:11:10-11:11:11) of the ineffable timeline and we seem to be having two conversations at once. Shax says on 11:11 "He hates you." Does she mean that she thinks Crowley hates Aziraphale, or... that Gabriel hates Aziraphale. Aziraphale looks noticeably shocked at her reply. After the eyebrow raise of "You don't seem like his type at all" I would bet we're not talking about Crowley anymore. How did she get this information?

01:22:22 Gabriel does a little laugh to himself while signalling with the lamp. What the fuck? Does someone know morse code?

01:33:33 Maggie extends her had to Nina at the ball, to invite her to dance. Nina looks pleased, but doesn't move until... a very odd miracle sound on a XX:X6 happens and she jumps up to take Maggie's hand. That miracle sound is not Aziraphale's, and besides, he would never miracle on a 6. Who's the demon making Nina dance...

Aziraphale's halo toss is the flip from ACT II to ACT III of season 2, and as such, get's a special time right before rolling over to the second hour. He decides to throw it down on exactly 01:54:45, and at 01:54:54 gets a giant tubular bell ring in the music to highlight the action. It lands on the ground at 01:55:01, and incinerates the demons at precisely 01:55:10.

01:59:59 Beez and Gabriel hold hands, and a magical chime sounds at 2:00:00. Maggie start her sentence "Aww, that's really sweet" at the same time, and manages to finish it on 2:00:02. (Dagon politely waits to pretend to barf on a XX:X3 after she's done.)

The last one is a big one : 02:02:02 gets "to face CELESTIAL punishment" by Michael. This is what we've been waiting for the entire season, the Checkov's gun of the book of life. But, where is it? We then get an odd cowboy showdown style stare-off between Michael and Shax. I'm predicting that missing chunk of time in the bookshop before we come back to Michael threatening Aziraphale with the book of life is going to be a pretty interesting reveal in season 3. -------------------------------------------

People, this is the short version of this post. There are SO MANY things to unpack. Next up is doubled numbers. If you want an ides of what it takes to break things down, here's my workflow timeline right now. The stuff after the first big space is numbers I haven't shown you yet... This show is insane.

More Maggie weirdness.

Her shop loses its name sometimes.

Here's a shot of what the name and the general top of the awning looks like:

There's a little bar above the awning and a gray frame around the name section. Swirly name.

Here's the shop when Crowley pulls up coming back to do the apology dance, s2e1 38:20, which is also when Maggie is locked in the cafe with Nina.

Here is the same shot, super brightened and overexposed to show where the name isn't. It should be in the big orange section above the gray looking bar, which isn't actually gray, you can see the orange on the far left and far right.

The name is not missing because it's night or because she's not in there. I looked at other night shots, the name is there.

Here's the shot of the shop when Maggie is also locked in the cafe a bit earlier, lamenting to Nina that just anyone could go steal stuff, at 36:34, also overexposed and brightened:

Notice there's two places for the shop name. The top one is definitely missing in the above Crowley shot, but I can't tell if the bottom one is also missing. I tried brightening the shot again, but there's too many shadow artifacts to be sure. If someone's got an OLED they can take a shot from and brighten that, I would like to know what you find.

I tried looking for other nighttime shots or other times we see the shop, either they didn't show it or it was there.

Here is another instance during the day of there being no name on the top, while Azi is driving away in the Bentley in e3 at 0655.

Bottom name is there, I think.

I don't think the original Vinyl Fetish store that was there in S1 had that extra bottom name. Here's some of the few shots we get of it. It does not look like there is an extra nameplate under the awning.

What's the point of Maggie's shop losing its name?

Orange represents god. People can no longer find or identify god? God is gone from this world? God is so changed that even those looking can't find her? Not a satisfying in-universe reason though. Shops don't just lose their names, I think this is more evidence we're looking at a memory and not real time.

When does it happen?

It doesn't happen just because the Bentley is leaving, because the first one has the Bentley pulling up, and here's another where Crowley has just parked during e5 at 01:01 and the names are there.

Thank u for witnessing the story of how Kiyuu came here to see pretty ppl. Made a few lil stuff:

Kiyuu who, next to helping the Princes, volunteered to oversee the rest of the event as well (Crowley was super happy [with himself]).

Extra knowledge stuff for funsies:

Ryokiyuu had Grim in those baby carriers for the first few minutes of the ball. He ended up escaping though (They let him go because they felt bad and because they dressed him up fancy and trusted him enough and etc.)

Kiyuu would have fangirled over every single person in the party (usually secretly unless she knew the other person was comfortable receiving a flurry of compliments) and ultimately ended up not being able to vote for the Belle of the Ball (LOL).

Very honestly, Kiyuu probably hung around Jack and/or Ryoko (if she wasn’t busy) for the latter half of the ball because she got tired (not of socializing or anything, just in general) and went to one of the few people she felt most comfortable being vulnerable with.

I didn’t mention Azul and Malleus in the lines because like. I just couldn’t fit them in. So their relationships are!!:

Azul and Kiyuu have a strict business relationship because she used to work part time at the Mostro Lounge from Book 3 to Book 5 (Ryoko always double checked Kiyuu’s expenses because she was worried Kiyuu would get scammed). They’re amiable but not really close.

Malmal and Kiyuu are friends!! Kiyuu likes stargazing so they actually meet up quite often out of school. Kiyuu fell in love (aesthetic attraction) at first sight, and they have a normal friendship!

Season 2 Timeline

Featuring Maggie and Nina helpfully changing their clothes each day to illustrate the passage of time.

Day 1: Episode 01 (day - night)

Gabriel arrives at the bookshop. Aziraphale and Crowley fight about whether or not to help him. Nina and Maggie get locked in the coffee shop together. Crowley and Aziraphale use a miracle to hide Gabriel from Heaven and Hell.

Day 2: Episode 02 (day)

Aziraphale hears Gabriel singing Everyday and decides it's a Clue. The archangels appear at the bookshop, but don't recognise Gabriel. Aziraphale explains the miraculous energy they detected as an attempt to make Maggie and Nina fall in love. To maintain this cover, he and Crowley agree to play matchmaker.

Day 3: Episode 03 (day) || Episode 04 (night)

Muriel arrives in Soho to verify Aziraphale's alleged miracle. Aziraphale drives the Bentley to Edinburgh, investigating his Clue. Crowley stays in the bookshop and tries to spark romance between Maggie and Nina by summoning a rainstorm. Shax harasses both Crowley and Aziraphale, and deduces Gabriel is in the bookshop.

Day 4: Episode 04 (morning) || Episode 05 (day - night) || Episode 06 (night)

Back in Soho, Aziraphale tries his own hand at matchmaking by hosting a ball. Shax gathers a small army of demons and storms the bookshop, looking for Gabriel. Crowley sneaks into Heaven with Muriel while Aziraphale, Maggie and Nina fight off the hostile demons.

Day 5: Episode 06 (morning)

Aziraphale and Crowley finally learn that Gabriel fled Heaven after falling in love with Beelzebub and choosing them over the divine plan. The Metatron offers Aziraphale the position of Supreme Archangel. Probably something else happens here idk I forget what it's not important... ;)
