Read a very long scaremongering post about internet culture and the loss of community and it ended with "do you even know the names of your neighbours?" ...as if that was a big gotcha?

Like yeah I do, on one side is Stuart and Rena who are expecting their second grandchild very soon, and on the other side is Mark and his new missus Tracey and his son Ben (who is moving out soon). We send each other Christmas cards and compliment each other's Christmas and Halloween decorations. We bring each other's bins in.

If you want community with your neighbours you just have to accept that it's going to be a little awkward at first and push through the discomfort to make the barest of efforts.

I was definitely glad we already knew each other on the day I woke up at 7am to realise our gas hob had been leaking overnight and the house was full of gas. Mark next door saw the fire engine pull up, came out to see what was going on, and brought us into his house for a cuppa while we waited for the all clear.

Idk I'm just sick of people acting all doom and gloom about things that they absolutely have the ability to change 🤷🏻‍♀️

many of my interactions with my neighbours are stressful but the guy immediately next door to me just texted me to let me know that i left my bike light switched on, so that it didn't drain the battery, and that is what living in community is about actually

Thanks for the heads up! Though, hm, unless you mean the missing period (which woops, I did miss... though maybe that's just how hard she's muttering), that is correct. It would be loosed instead of lost in the context of the described action (unless I've lost my mind, which is at all times possible lol)

ok. so. i just spent abour 4 horus formatting a pdf of "number neighbours" by moonsblack on ao3, feeling a little delirious now but here it isss.. i don't know who made the art i used for the cover, it's from pinterest, if you made it pls let me know and i'll credit. i did design the rest of the cover and the pdf - i think it's pretty cute. dm me if you want either one to make your own copy!!

Another thing is how many keys does the smoker on the balcony have

So far he has his own 2 keys, one for his door one for the building, sunday friend has 1 or 2 keys, harry has 1. Now because after harry gets the key, he then consistently has access to the building, harry’s probably keeping that key with him. Now then the smoker still has clients, so likely he‘s got enough spare to put one under the rock. In total then he has at least 5-6 keys

So the question is was he walking out of the locksmiths jingling at the belt like a warden

got new neighbours upstairs and already they are so Young Adult Men, one of them came to introduce themselves, asked me for my number and just now called me to let them out of THEIR OWN UNIT ?? their door somehow locked from OUTSIDE and they were trapped in their own home, i had to go release them 😭

tiny little number neighbours epilogue

okay… funny story. so, i had some people ask me for a number neighbours epilogue and i was like, “maybe!! (probably not)”

and then i ended up crying over wolfstar at 3am and needed something happy and fluffy.

so i was like, “what if i wrote something that takes place in the number neighbours world?” and then it clicked that i should write a TINY LITTLE epilogue. just a small little thing that takes place way after the ending of number neighbours.

so. here it is. it’s small, but it’s cute and it’s them and ugh i love them so much.
