“... A worm that looks like Blair…?”

Firefly looks down in confusion at the weird little bug that purposely keeps bumping into her shoe, a small bow on top of its little worm head that looks exactly like the one the trailblazer wears.

At the mention of the name, the worm begins to wiggle in a weird way, almost like it’s doing a little dance.

Firefly scoops up the worm in her hands soon after, a look of shock on her face. “The worm… is Blair?!”

Okay, sure, it’s a stretch. But it’s a bit hard to argue when the worm is wearing a tinier version of Blair’s bow and doing a weird little worm dance. Also it’s Penacony, and if Blair can be turned into a marketable cartoon character, surely a worm isn’t out of the question? Also, she doesn’t think there’s any bugs in Penacony to begin with. Unless bugs can go in the Dreamscape but that doesn’t seem likely. Certainly a worm would not be here.

Panic quickly sets in, she looks around rapidly to see if there’s anything that could indicate what turned her partner into a worm. … There is not.

Just how far did Blair travel as a worm to find her…?

No, that’s not relevant right now.

Firefly shakes her head as she looks at Worm Blair, who is still doing a silly little worm dance. She needs an idea, and quick. Maybe Kafka could offer assistance..?

She takes a quick video of the dancing worm and sends her to her fellow Stellaron Hunter, small tears in her eyes due to panic.

“Blair’s a worm!”

“Lmao, that’s hilarious.”

“No, it’s not! I need help!”

“Lol. Sorry, can’t really help much since I’m not there. Try looking around for clues to figure out how it happened.”

Well. It wasn’t much help, but at least Kafka assisted in her own way. Though Firefly can still picture her somewhere laughing about all of this currently.

Either way, she takes a deep breath, calming down more as she looks around the area more. And well, there in the distance she notices someone searching around the ground and under items, very much not subtly.

“...Sampo.”

Her face blanks, she should’ve known. The tiny worm in her hands dances quicker, confirming what she already could figure. Of course this was his fault.

She walks over to him, an irritated look on her face.

“What did you do to Blair?”

His face turns from panic to surprise to his typical expression in a matter of seconds. “Oh, there’s the Trailblazer! I told him not to wander off from me!”

“What. Did. You. Do.”

“I just wanted to show him a bit of fun! There’s so much to do here, after all.”

“Fix Blair. Now.”

“Now, now. No need to get aggressive. Of course I can easily fix this.”

They stood there for about 15 seconds, just staring at each other.

“... You don’t know how to fix this, do you?”

“Nonsense! I know exactly what to do! Lemme just..”

He scoops up the still wiggling worm in his hands before taking off running.

“Hey!”

Firefly immediately chases after him, determined to get her poor worm partner back.

Perhaps this will be fixed in time, for now though. At least one question is answered: Firefly would indeed still love Blair if he were a worm.
