Ghost carefully watched the taller being's movements in silence. They were unsure what to make of her, and while they were not particularly intimidated by her being roughly five or six times their own height (they'd fought opponents of a similar scale before and won, after all, should this encounter happen to turn violent), they remained on guard. They hadn't been in this new land for very long, so this would be their first chance to discern whether its inhabitants were friendly or not.

They certainly didn't appreciate the other pointing her sharpened object at them, though. It bore little resemblance to the nails the little Knight was accustomed to, nor did it look anything like the needle Sister Hornet preferred to use, but it seemed reasonable enough to think it some sort of weapon—at the very least, it could definitely be used as one in a pinch if nothing else. Ghost made no outward movements, seemingly unreactive as the other being rotated the sharpened object. Secretly, however, they were readying their Shade Cloak in case they needed to dash out of the way of an incoming attack.

Then, they were hit with a sudden bonk, and that was all the incentive Ghost needed to warp to the side, not keen on taking any actual damage from the blade. They drew their own Pure Nail in preparation for battle, never breaking eye contact the entire time.

Rather than attempt to land another blow, however, the other spoke. The meaning of the first set of words was lost on them, but then she wanted to know what they were..? They were a Vessel, child of Wyrm and Root, yet at the same time neither, their Pale parentage having been sacrificed in the egg to become one with the Void that they now gave Form.

Of course, with no mouth to speak with, it was difficult to impart any of this information. Their father's intentions of giving them no voice to cry suffering had indeed succeeded, but it also prevented them from offering any sort of explanation to the other being in this moment.

So, sheathing their nail, Ghost simply continued to hold their blank stare. A lack of answer would have to suffice.

Since you asked so ravenously, I will tell u a little of what I'm working on, and oblige you with a cheeky excerpt (which u will automatically see if u expand this post, sorry this format is not the best! oh well!)

I will say my approach to erotica/erotic romance is that themes and allegories and narrative "foreplay" enhance the overall experience! So it's mostly build-up and homoerotic loathing (and since the first chapter was so well-received I don't there will be any strong objections to this lmao).

I'm spending time in Scarab's head on the job to examine his thinking, and leaning into his intense hatred of (obsession with?) Prismo, because I think lingering on those feelings makes his downfall that much sweeter. Show me a man at the top of his game, and I'm gonna want to bring him to his lowest low. >:3c

To that end, I'm actually rewriting their first meeting from Episode 4! I think this adds value because I get to decide what Scarab was thinking the entire time. And we didn't see them for the WHOLE tour of the Time Room, so I get to add in those missing scenes and speculate on the flow of that conversation.

When a square porthole opens into the Time Room with a sound like a slab scraping over stone, Scarab wastes no time scuttling inside.

A glimmer of fear passes over Prismo's expression just as the Wishmaster comes into view, and Scarab knows he's caught the cosmic being red-handed—even if he doesn't know at what, yet.

"Ah—Scarab! Hey," Prismo greets with an awkward smile.

Scarab does not return the greeting. He takes his time, allowing himself to relish the lackadaisical Wishmaster's long-awaited comeuppance.

"Curious... I always thought you had an open-door policy," Scarab leisurely croons. He leaps from the porthole to enter the Time Room proper, and he lands inauspiciously on Prismo's arm. It makes Scarab's toes buzz, and he discreetly steps over Prismo's projected-light form to escape the strange sensation.

"Everybody's pal, Prrrismo," he purrs, with affection so theatrically insincere it makes his mandibles ache.

Scarab crosses one leg behind the other and rests his weight on his cane, awaiting Prismo's answer.

"Hey, that's me!" Prismo nervously laughs. "Well... What brings you here, Scrabby?"

The reminder of that undignified nickname makes Scarab scoff, and he crosses his arms, taken aback. "No one calls me that any more."

After Prismo paraded that odious nickname around the office party, it had stuck for a while. To put a finer point on it, it had taken decades of brusque correction for Scarab to train it out of their sphere of mutual acquaintances. Scarab had never dialed down his answering brutality, nor had he ever stopped begrudging Prismo the inconvenience of it all.

Much like the scandal of touch, a nickname was a pathetic attempt to come closer to the Scarab, and would be met with the same rebuke.

Stewing in that resentment threatens to distract Scarab from the task at hand. Perhaps that is Prismo's aim.

But Scarab is not so easily dissuaded.

With faux innocence, Scarab spins a yarn to conceal just how eagerly he has awaited the Wishmaster's downfall. "I was passing through the neighborhood, making a delivery to the Judgment Hall, when I got an alert... about you."

Prismo makes his excuses, and Scarab entertains them with diligent patience. Though the god-auditor is known for being abrupt, he likes to take his time on inspections and investigations—particularly when he is confident his quarry has been cornered.

What can he say? Time is the most important ingredient to many rewarding experiences—and Scarab enjoys playing with his food. There was little other reason to linger in Kheirosiphon's tea shop as long as he had, but to privately relish the impending conclusion of a successful hunt.

Also, Prismo floundering as he clumsily tries to conceal his crimes features not infrequently in Scarab's top 5 fantasies.

He is not so eager for justice to let that pass him by without savoring it, a little.

Naming Conventions

🌷;; Borrower names are often borrowed from nouns or adjectives, or borrowed from animals/human names.

🍀;; The following shows the most common borrower names. Some names have strong female or male associations, but most of them are unisex. Most borrowers' names are strictly dictionary, literal nouns and rarely have deeper forms.

❄️;; After seasons: Spring, Winter, Summer or Autumn/Fall. Often because they were born in that season or because it holds a special meaning for the parents. Example: The parents met in Summer, the kid was born in Winter, or they found a home in Spring.

🌺;; After flowers: Rose, Lily, Ivy, Violet, Magnolia, Lilac, Rosemary, Bluebell, Wisteria, Tulip, Margaret, Buttercup, Peony, Orchid, Camellia, Lavender, Petal.

🌳;; After herbs, trees and other plants: Basil, Dandelion, Laurel, Cedar, Leaf, Willow, Aspen, Clover, Cypress, Ginger, Olive, Mint, Herb, Sage, Moss, Pine, Oak, Branch.

Changing your name in borrower culture:

• Contrary to popular belief, often borrower names given by parents don't actually have a deep value, like with humans. They're often more than welcomed to change it however they wish, this is known as "to borrow a name".

• Some borrowers will change their name just because they found a nicer one, or they want to transition to one that fits more their current identity or their age. Some nicknames may transform into a borrowers' name, this is surprisingly common. This tradition is popular, especially reaching adulthood or even late teens, and some communities heavily encourage the borrowing of a name to signal a borrower is ready to get involved within the community. A borrower may have borrowed lots of names through their lives.

• Some people give their kids ‘baby names’. This is the case of names like ‘Peanut’, 'Raindrop', "Button" or ‘Seed’ and they are expected to be changed later on when the borrower finds their own identity. The new name shall be called the "Chosen name/true name", and it is considered demeaning/patronizing/sometimes mocking to insist on using the baby name of someone to address them (if you happen to know it); this happens a lot with parents and their young. Baby names lose their value the second they change it, so it's not really necessary to let others know what it was unless you want to explain the term to a human and get teased for one month.

🪲;; Some spelling has changed over time, transforming “Bird” into “Byrd”, for example. There is also a tendency of choosing shorter names, making "Leaf" or "Petal" one of the most common ones.

🪲;; Giving nicknames based on their skills, personality or appearance is very common. This tradition has developed from survival purposes but now it is considered cultural, a form of showing love and is especially seen from older borrowers to the young.

🪲;; Borrowers don't have middle names.

About last names: This depends on the family, some of them consider them superficial and have no last names. Some borrowers do HAVE last names, especially the ones living in communities. As with names, last names don't usually hold a deeper value and have very literal meanings. Most of them reflect the particular part of the landhouse their hideout is close by, whether it's the Clock, the Cabinet, the Shower, etc. Their last names may or may not be subject to change in case they move out, some could be slightly attached to them so they choose to keep it.

Generally speaking, when a borrower "marries" another and they move out, they'll get a new last name based on the location they're building their hideout on, which their children will inherit until they move out. This would make most Borrower's last names transitory.

Happily Ever After (Princess Academy) — PattyCake Productions music video

Along with their conspiracy of villains, PattyCake had also gathered quite a few Disney princesses over the course of their "Unexpected Musicals". Those young ladies are known for their kindness and strength of character. So what better way to introduce this second original series than by having them help a pessimist find a sunnier outlook on life?

Trivia:

Olivia had been playing Snow White for PattyCake since their very first music video, "Snow Spears".

Anna had originally auditioned to play Ariel in "The Grande Mermaid", but Tony and Layne kept her in mind for Aurora.

Tiana was yet another of Tony's fellow "Beetlejuice Revue" alumni, having played cheerleaders Hip and Hop, and Cleo in the later "Mashup" version. She had also played Belle in the live stage show at Disney World.

Many of the other actresses were cast through an open audition process. (Which was a pretty sure bet, since PattyCake is so close to Disney World.) The final role cast was Monica as Moana.

This video was filmed at The Ballroom at Church Street, which PattyCake had previously used for their "Beauty and the Bieber" video, as well as Fernando Varela's "Phantom Showman" mashup.

During the week before it was released, the guys had some of the cast come into the studio for a few final pickups and ADR sessions to make sure it was as good as possible.

The guitar track was recorded by Ryan Simpson, who played Rick Grimes in PattyCake's "Walking Dead" music video a year and a half earlier.

In addition to playing the reporter, Melanie also served as the production manager for the video shoot.

Layne's family paid a visit to the set while the cast was getting ready so that the girls could meet their favorite princesses.

Because there were so many characters to style at once, Tony called in reinforcements from a few local businesses to provide some of the costume pieces, wigs, and jewelry.

Ben got caught looking over Raven's shoulder in between takes.

I love old horror movies, dungeons and dragons, meat, bugs, bones, and nature. I collect plushies, have a lot of plants, and always stay up too late.🌑

I'm still figuring out my identity, atm I feel comfortable with calling myself alterhuman and otherkin.

I'm definitely a werewolf, I also feel very close to wild dogs, wolves, coyotes, foxes, and ravens. overall I'm just a creature.🐦‍⬛

I have my suspicions about autism, anxiety, and depression. I'm not going to self-diagnosed myself, but I will speak about my experiences and want to make it clear I do not have a formal diagnosis.
