"You're warm." Eddie murmurs against him, his hands trailing down his spine. It's different than before, muted. Like hearing a familiar song playing in the other room. His hand is gentle on his back and instead of quieting the sizzle of his skin like before, it makes a flurry of sensations rise in Steve's stomach, instead. His heart beats faster, if anything.

It takes too long for Steve to recognize that Eddie is waiting for a response.

"So?"

Eddie speaks quietly, voice only trembling slightly but it might be because Steve's hand is moving again.

"I don't know - it's weird, right? I don't really feel... like I did before."
