once he does join you in bed, he can be a bit shy. you'll have to actively invite him to lay closer to you

once you do that, he feels totally comfortable!

albedo likes to be close to you, enjoying your body heat as much as he can.

sleeping with him is comfortable. he doesn't exude any heat, but he isn't cold, either - so no matter the weather, he's a good nap buddy

his favorite place to sleep is up on his lab in dragonspine, next to you, in a bed covered in furs and blankets so both of you can be completely tucked in. it's like a cocoon of comfort!

cannot sleep without you next to him!!

he also often stays up late, but is easily convinced to come to bed. his work can often wait until morning and you are really in need of your favorite pillow

he sighs softly, gives you a quiet smile, and blows out his candle before pulling the covers back and sliding in next to you

diluc likes to hold you while you sleep. it makes him feel safe with you in his arms, held securely against his chest

usually you sleep facing each other with your nose a bit squished between his pecs, but i mean... are you complaining?

diluc is a heavy sleeper and doesn't wake up until either you get up or his natural rhythm wakes him up, usually midmorning.

he is not a morning person. it's going to take many kisses and some coffee to convince him to wake up all the way.

it's a really sweet and intimate way to get in the sleepy time mood!

he's not one to take care of himself, but he does care about his appearance. so you two have this now.

he's a light sleeper! he shifts around a lot during the night, but whenever he does, he subconsciously will reach out for you

therefore, if you wake up in the middle of the night, it's a coin toss as to what position the two of you will be in. however, nine times out of ten, some part of him will be touching some part of you

he wakes up early to report to the knights of favonius, though it's certainly not below him to indulge a few times a year week sleeping in next to you

this guy will not sleep until you DRAG him into bed and then he's whining the whole way. why would you go to bed when you could stay up singing and having fun!! what about board games!

and then the minute you finally get him to lay down next to you he's down for the count

venti is also a VERY affectionate guy. so while he sleeps he will cling onto you like a koala

he might drool on you just a little bit

he's a really heavy sleeper but he's also a bit of a kicker

he's fallen out of the bed while still gripping your arm in his sleep on multiple occasions.

sometimes, on rare nights, you'll wake up in the middle of the night to hear him softly humming something, still completely asleep.

CHILDE

as a fatui harbinger, he's out a lot

this means that he really does treasure the time he spends with you, especially at night

he's clingy.

he will spoon you, he will hold you against him, he will lay you on his chest

he needs to be touching you at all times. unfortunately, he can sometimes sweat.

he trained himself to be a light sleeper. nothing can sneak up on him, even while he's asleep. he's the perfect protection for his beloved partner!

he doesn't want to get up in the morning. you have to poke him and sometimes drag him o.ut of bed by his ankles.

he whines about it but he loves you. and soon enough he's dressed and on his way to work with a quick kiss goodbye.

you have to beg him to either go somewhere else or join you

he doesn't want to leave you to sleep by yourself, unprotected... so he reluctantly agrees to lay down next to you

hm. actually, this is kind of nice.

xiao realizes that actually he is a little bit tired. a lot tired.

he awkwardly opens his arms for you to crawl into, and then once he hears your breathing slow down, he allows himself to close his eyes.

xiao sleeps like a log, for the first time in hundreds of years.

this becomes habit. when he isn't spending the night off hunting monsters, he joins you in bed and allows himself a few hours of rest.

ZHONGLI

nighttime is when zhongli allows himself to let go

he trusts you with everything, and therefore, as the two of you are getting ready for bed, while he's washing up, he lets his more draconic features show.

his tail appears, his arms take on a darker shade, bright golden veins just visible, and horns make their way to the top of his head

even his teeth shift, becoming just barely noticeably sharper and larger.

it's in these moments when you remember your lover is an ancient being and quite literally a god

zhongli's demeanor doesn't change, though. he's still a gentleman.

he situates himself in bed first, makes himself comfortable, picks up a book, and invites you to lay with him.

he'll stay up for a bit reading by candlelight with you next to him, until he finally gets tired, snuffs out the candle, places a soft kiss to your temple, and lays down next to you

he's another one that likes to hold you while you sleep.

SLEEPS LIKE A ROCK (literally). you swear sometimes it's like his body temporarily turns to stone.

zhongli's body sleeps on a schedule, so he wakes up at the same time every morning to prepare for work.

if you're still in bed by the time he has to leave, he'll leave a letter on his pillow and a kiss on your head before he goes.

AYATO

the evening is his favorite time of day

(the time when it finally comes to an end)

as the yashiro commissioner, he's busy most of the day, and doesn't often have time to spend with you. while he's around, he can't devote much of his attention to you, which he sincerely regrets.

so nights with him are when he shows you just how much he loves you.

he makes sure you're comfortable and helps you get ready for bed, a routine which includes many many kisses and a few apologies for being busy all the time (you understand, and he knows this, but he likes to make sure you know he still loves you)

ayato likes to hold hands while you sleep. there's something so intimate about it that he's such a sucker for.

he doesn't sleep really lightly or heavily, just sort of in the middle. he wakes up to shift his position a few times a night but that's it.

he's also a sucker for being close to you. you'll wake up learning that at some point in the night, ayato has pulled you much closer to him than you were when you originally went to bed.

he has to wake up early, but he hates it. he leaves a quick kiss on your head before he gets up for work, and will check in with you throughout the day, too.

loves sleeping with you but denies it

he NEEDS to be holding you while you sleep. ever since the incident with yae miko, he's trying to break the embarrassing habit of sleeping with his tail in his arms, and he figures you're the perfect replacement!

light sleeper and twitches in his sleep, a bit like dogs when they dream. it's adorable

subconsciously pulls you closer to him while he's asleep, too. having you near him is comforting.

he's incredibly warm! and his tail is SO fluffy. you might want to sleep on opposite sides of the bed during hot weather.

he hates this though, and you'll probably wake up in his arms. he'll deny moving you and say it must have been you who craved his hugs, not the other way around.

BIG BAN BIG MAN

he's such an affectionate guy too. just be careful of the horns

his favorite position to sleep in is on his back with you on his chest. he WILL trap you with his arms

doesn't mean to trap you. but he's just so big and strong... it just kind of happens!

snores. it's annoying but endearing. he doesn't even know he's doing it

when he snores, the bridge of his nose will scrunch and it'll look a bit like he's snarling. sometimes his huge teeth come out

he's big, so he also exudes a lot of heat. however, unlike gorou, he won't even let you sleep on the other side of the bed

he Will hold you. there is no escape. he sleeps really soundly and pretty much doesn't move an inch all night.

itto is not a morning person. you have to shake him awake and then he whines about it.

A SWEETHEART

he helps you get ready for bed and then tucks you in and everything <33

actually kazuha really likes to sing you to sleep or recite a poem for you before bed!

won't overtly cuddle you unless you ask for it, but is never opposed to it!

he's just not really sure how to handle it sometimes, so he just kind of keeps to himself unless either of you are feeling particularly affectionate

as time passes, he becomes more confident, and needs more and more cuddles.

kazuha is a light sleeper, but is quiet and careful enough never to wake you up when he does in the middle of the night.

he likes to wake up at the same time as you, so if he wakes up first, he waits for you before starting his day.

when it's cold out, he's the perfect bedtime buddy. when it's warm, you two sleep on opposite sides of the bed with pinkies intertwined in the middle

like kaeya, he likes to wash up thoroughly before bed. sometimes he even does his hair so it'll look nicer when he wakes up

on nights when it's warm, somehow, in the middle of the night, despite starting on opposite ends of the bed from one another, you'll find that you gravitated towards each other and met in the middle.

he laughs and apologizes and offers to sleep somewhere else. you refuse and hug him even closer

thoma really loves physical affection while sleeping

his favorite is sleeping facing each other, and sometimes you two find yourselves staying up until the early hours of the morning talking until he realizes it's one am and he has work tomorrow.

always leaves you a kiss and a note before he leaves to tend to the kamisatos. and of course you're always welcome to visit!

CYNO

very awkward about sleeping with you

he's just nervous! you have to reassure him you're comfortable around him and would, in fact, prefer he sleep next to you comfortably than on the floor.

it takes him a while to warm up to the idea, and starts off very stiff, but over time, he learns that in fact, he sleeps much better when you're there with him.

cyno sleeps deeply, and doesn't shift much throughout the night. you could probably use him as a pillow if you wanted, he wouldn't object.

he likes when you sleep on his chest the most. the pressure of you being on him is very comforting and he likes having his arms around you.

he calls himself your "general mahamattress," and proceeds to overexplain even though the joke is rather clear. he's very sweet about it.

sleeping near a loved one is good for your brain!!! there's science to back it up!! probably!!

snuggles you like a koala when you sleep together. there's no escaping tighnari's grip of death.

before he discovered sleeping next to you, it was pretty difficult for him to get to sleep on time.

therefore, in case it's a rough night, he has a bunch of herb remedies for insomnia that are tried and true, his own recipes

he's found that a dab of sweet smelling flower dew on your forehead helps with sweet dreams, and while you're sleeping with him, you rarely have nightmares.

tighnari and his bushy tail are here with you to chase away the monsters!!

he's a forest ranger and a fox. and he gets up when he WANTS. do not try to drag him out of bed you will be (gently) bitten.

He had been at the tavern all night and around 11pm you finally decided to go and get him. He was drunkenly playing his lyre in the tavern and when he saw you, he lit up "Y/nnn!!! come here let me play you a song~!!" He said slurring his words. "No Venti, it's time to go home" you said sternly. His smile dropped "Noo I don't wannaaa~!!" he protested but after a bit of back and forth he finally agreed to go home.

Once you got home, he got into something to sleep in, and you make him some dinner and got him some water and brought it to him in bed. You laid next to him, and he laid on your shoulder as he ate his food. He was starting to sober up by now and after he finished his food, he looked up at you. "Thank you, y/n" he said as he moved his head from your shoulder to your lap. He fell asleep and slept the rest of the night on your lap.

𝑲𝒂𝒆𝒚𝒂

You were at a party with Kaeya and the rest of the knights. You weren't sober but you could tell that Kaeya was overdoing it and he had way too much to drink. You said goodbye to Jean and went over to Kaeya. "Babe, I think we should go" you said placing your hand on his shoulder. He nodded and didn't protest, He felt like shit after drinking so much so he was ready to go home too. You got him some water as soon as you both got home. He drank his glass of water as he got comfortable in bed. "Y/nn come here~" he said opening his arms for you. Once you got in bed, he immediately wrapped his arms around you and laid his head on your chest. You massaged his scalp softly and just laid there with him for a little while in silence. You then looked up and saw that he had already fallen asleep. You smiled and closed your eyes and fell asleep as well.

You had already gone to bed in Kazuha's quarters in the crux. It was Beidou's birthday, and you had been celebrating with the rest of the crew but around 10pm you got tired, and you kissed Kazuha softly. "I'm going to go to bed, don't stay out here too late, okay?" You said softly. "Goodnight, my love, I'll be to bed in an hour or so, sweet dreams darling" he said. However, an hour later he told the rest of the crew he should head to bed and the crew convinced him to stay a bit longer.

He stumbled into his quarters where you were sleeping around 1am. He drunkenly changed his clothes into something to sleep in, trying to be as quiet as he could so he wouldn't wake you. But when he got into bed you woke up and saw him getting into bed. "Kazuha what time is it?" you asked as you rubbed the sleep from your eyes. "I don't know..." He said drunkenly. You could tell in his voice how drunk he was. You got up and got him some water.

As he drank his water you sat on the bed next to him and just talked to him for a little while. Once he was done with his water he laid down on your lap and shut his eyes and sighed in comfort as he felt you massaging his scalp. You got a hairbrush off the dresser and brushed his hair softly. "Night y/n... love you.." He said as he dozed off in your lap. "I love you too, Kazuha"

You and Joe sat on the couch, unwinding after a long day of Christmas festivities in Athens at his parent's house.

Tyson and Miles slept in the car the entire ride home, so when you two arrived, Joe carried them upstairs and put them in their beds.

Before you guys left Robin and Jimmy’s, you had put the boys’s pajamas on, already expecting them to crash in the car.

Now, Joe loved his family, don't get me wrong, but usually after a get-together with them, he wouldn't want to be around a lot of people for at least a whole day.

In other words, he'd keep his circle limited to you, Tyson, and Miles.

Currently, Joe was cuddled up to you while talking to the baby in your stomach.

Joe was adamant that his baby girl would know her father's voice as soon as she met the outside world.

You loved being a third wheel in their conversations, finding the way Joe’s tone went up an octave while talking in a baby voice to be cute.

But unbeknownst to you, Joe was planning something not-so-innocent.

He had a prank up his sleeve.

Joe was fed up with being on the receiving end of all your little pranks, and now it was his turn to be the prankster.

A few minutes ago, when Joe was “using the bathroom” he was actually on DoorDash ordering your favorite Starbucks drink.

But it was for himself.

That was the prank.

Joe was proud of himself for already having your go-to order memorized because it came in handy today.

Baby girl’s conversation with her daddy was interrupted by a slight knock on the door.

Joe had specified not ringing the doorbell because there were sleeping kids.

You watched him stand up and walk to the door. Joe seemed calm, cool, and collected while you were slightly worried about who or what was knocking on your door at nine o'clock at night.

When Joe opened the door he took a few steps onto the porch and bent over to pick something up.

He walked back into the house, shut the door, and pulled the bag out from behind his back to reveal that it was Starbucks.

“Joey! Did you get me a refresher?” - you grinned

Joe pulled the drink out of the bag and sat back down in his spot next to you on the couch.

Without saying a word Joe moved the cup to his lips and took a slow sip.

You laughed when you saw his face contort slightly, Strawberry Acai refreshers can be sour sometimes.

“Can I have it now?” - you

Joe shook his head no and continued drinking. He tried and failed to not make a face at the sourness.

Now that 1/4 of the venti cup was empty, you realized what he was doing.

With a longing glance, side-eye style, Joe took in your slightly sad expression.

Fuck, he made his pregnant wife sad.

“Wait, shit, I'm sorry. Here, you can have it. I was just trying to prank you, not make you sad.” - Joe

He handed you the drink and you apprehensively took a small sip, trying to mess with him.

“Mama… I’m sorry. I'll order another one if you want. Want a cake pop? Or two?” - Joe

You giggled as you watched him frantically get on his phone to find the DoorDash app.

“Babe, I’m okay. Just this drink is fine.” - you

“Are you sure? I can order another one!” - Joe

“Joe, it's fine, I promise. Was this your way of getting back at me?” - you laughed

“Yes, but I failed miserably. You have too big of an effect on me for me to prank you.” - Joe

His comment made you smile and cuddle back up to him, your head leaning into his shoulder as his hand found its place on your bump.

“I think we should leave the pranking in this marriage up to me...” - you

“Hell, that's for sure.” - Joe scoffed before laughing

You spent the rest of the night cuddled up with Joe as you sipped on your refresher.

The next morning, you'd wake up alone because Joe was working out in the home gym.

You immediately went downstairs to start breakfast for your three boys and yourself, and your heart warmed when you saw what was on the counter.

It was a small bouquet of different colored tulips, a venti refresher, and a cookie already out of the package sitting on the paper.

There was also a small note next to it and a grin spread across your face when you read it.

Sorry again for that prank, Mama. I hope the baby is craving a chocolate chip cookie this morning, and I also hope this makes for a good apology.

Like, squirrels in Genshin really have no fear, all they think about are pinecones. Many times I approached them, but they didn't run away like other animals, they just stood there, near their pinecones.

So I imagine a character who has a hat, like Mona or Venti walking in the forest and a pinecone gets stuck in their hat. Then a squirrel followed them all day, leaving them confused, not knowing why the squirrel was following them. And what the worse was that the squirrel had no fear, they even followed them into the city!

Colson x Presley (Original Female Character)

Synopsis: Presley and Colson fell in love accidentally, but they were meant to be. Now that all the obstacles have been removed, they're moving in together in LA. Now, they have all the time in the world for Colson to teach Presley all of the things he knows. This fic is the sequel to Mine, which can be found in my masterlist!

Warnings/Content: angst is sticking around for a bit. big emotions, Presley finding out about Col, swearing, mentions of suicide attempts

This chapter is a little less intense, but it's still heavy. Please take care of yourself and skip if you need to.

Presley

I’m not ready to go home yet. I’m on a high after confronting Megan and getting my proof, but I’m still a little mad at Colson. I need to grab a coffee, maybe, and think about what I’m going to do.

Jason will never agree to play the audio recording for anyone, so I’m going to have to publish it somehow without permission. I’ve gained a lot of followers since being with Colson, so I know people are bound to see it and probably save it, screen record it or something. It will clear Colson’s name and make Megan look like a total idiot.

I drive to Starbucks and grab a venti coffee, then climb into my car and lock the doors. I pull up my phone and trim the audio recording. My mind is racing and so is my heart. I should let Colson know before I do this, but he wasn’t in his right mind yesterday and I doubt he’s any better today. He’ll probably tell me there’s no point. 

I decide to take a little bit more time to myself. I slept like shit last night, and despite this coffee, I know I’ll be able to nap. I take myself back to Cash and Liv’s place. When I get inside, Cash is on the couch playing video games. He glances over at me. “Hey. You okay?”

I nod. “I just need a nap.”

Cash eyes the coffee in my hand. “Good luck with that.”

I shrug half-heartedly. “Thanks again for letting me stay.”

“Of course,” Cash says, pausing his game. He taps his fingers on his thigh. “Hey, Pres?”

“Hm?”

“Have you talked to Colson since you…left?” he asks. 

I shake my head. “No,” I say weakly. “I know I need to, I just…” I push a hand through my hair. Colson hurt me so badly by talking to me that way. I’m not ready to talk to him yet. What if he’s in the same headspace? What if he says more horrible things to me? Emotionally, I can’t handle it right now. 

“Would you mind if…” Cash pauses, chewing his lip. “Would you mind if I went and checked on him? I know you need space and I 100% support that, but I think maybe Colson needs a friend.”

I consider this and my eyes well up with tears. No matter what, I’m so unbelievably sad for Colson. I need to let him know what happened with Megan but I just can’t do it right now. I don’t even know what I’m going to do with the audio.

“Yes. Please do that,” I say. “Thank you, Cash.”

He smiles softly. “Go get some sleep. Love you.”

“Love you, too,” I say, then go to the guest room and pass the fuck out. 

I wake up when the sky is dark. Shit, guess I really needed that nap. I stretch out and reach for my phone. I really need to take it off do not disturb. It’s been that way since I left home almost a full day ago, and at the very least, I need to let Colson know that I’m okay, that we’re okay. We can make it through a fight. I’m confident in that. This is going to fix everything and we can go back to normal. When I get home later, I can explain everything in person and we can decide what to do together. 

I sigh as I turn off do not disturb, finally feeling ready to message Colson. As expected, there are tons of texts and missed calls from him. Even a voicemail. I listen to that first and frown at his voice. He sounds so devastated and guilt stabs me like a knife. But at the same time, he was out of line and I needed space. Cash went over to check on him, but I’m so torn on how to feel. 

I call Colson back but it goes straight to voicemail. I frown and try twice more, but he doesn’t answer. I scroll to our texts, finding a ton of messages pleading for me to come back. Lots of apologies. I text him back but my iMessage won’t go through. I send it as a text message, but worry causes my heart to race. Why is his phone off? Why isn’t he answering? Does he just need space from me or is something else going on? 

Just then, a soft knock sounds on my door. I sit up in bed and call out for the person to come in. Cash appears in the doorway and immediately, I can tell something is wrong. I turn on the lamp and scrutinize him. He looks exhausted and terrified and traumatized. “Cash?” I ask worriedly. “Come here.”

He walks over and sits on the edge of the bed, pushing a hand slowly through his hair. His hand trembles as it returns to his lap. “What is going on?” I ask anxiously.

Cash’s lip trembles but he takes a deep breath. “I need you to just listen,” he says, “and not panic because everything is okay now.”

“Cash, what the fuck is going on?” I ask, and my voice is whiny with fear. 

“Colson is staying overnight at the hospital. He’s safe,” Cash says. Instantly, my blood runs cold and my hands start to shake. The hospital?

“Wh-what?” I whimper.

“Just let me get this out. Okay?” he asks, glancing at me before quickly looking away. “When I got over there, he kind of lost it. Broke down. Before I got there…” He pauses, swallowing hard. “If I hadn’t gotten there when I did, he was going to…he was going to take a bottle of pills.”

I blink, stiffening. “Wait.” I try to swallow but my mouth is dry. I scramble out from under the blankets and get up, pacing on shaky legs. “No. No no no,” I whimper, eyes filling with tears. “Oh god, Colson.”

“Presley,” Cash says firmly. I snap my head over so I can look at him. “Let me get this out.” His voice is firm and it shuts me up. I nod. 

“He didn’t take anything,” Cash continues. “I took him to the ER because I was worried. But he instantly regretted his actions. He scared the shit out of himself, Pres.”

I can’t stop shaking and I’m on the verge of a panic attack. My Colson, my sweet husband, thinking there was nothing left, no reason to live. The love of my life, intending to take his own life if my brother hadn’t shown up when he did. I crumple to the floor but I keep my mouth shut. 

Cash gets up and comes over to me, wrapping me in his arms. He scoops me up and brings me back to the bed, cradling me in his arms. “It’s okay, Pres,” he says weakly. “He’s staying overnight and he can come home tomorrow. I really think he’s okay. I think he scared himself enough that he would never dream of doing something like that again.”

“Cash…” Tears spill down my cheeks and I can’t stop them. My body trembles with sobs as I cling to my brother. “This is my fault.”

“Presley, no,” Cash says firmly. He cups my chin roughly so I’ll look at him. “Don’t you dare.”

“If I hadn’t left…”

“If you hadn’t left, then your fight would have escalated,” Cash interrupts. “You both would’ve said things you regretted.”

“Bullshit. This is my fault,” I insist, pushing off of him to get to my feet again. 

“Presley, this is not your fault–”

“How?” I cry, throwing up my hands. “I left him, Cash! I left him when he was at his lowest and then I turned off notifications so he couldn’t even get ahold of me, the one person who he needed to stand by him! How the fuck is this not my fault?” 

“Oh, so you’re just not allowed to have feelings?” he shoots back, getting to his feet. 

My brow furrows. “Huh?”

“So you’re not allowed to be upset about any of this. Megan’s accusations. Colson’s behavior because of said accusations,” he says. “You’re supposed to be perfectly strong for Colson and sacrifice your own mental health.”

“That’s…that’s not…”

“Yes it is, Pres,” Cash says firmly, walking closer to me. “You’re being way, way too fucking hard on yourself.”

“But he was going to kill himself, Cash,” I say miserably, face crumpling again.

“I know,” Cash says. “Hey.” He grabs my chin and turns my head gently so I’m forced to look into his eyes. “Could you have stayed? Sure.” He shrugs. “But something was bound to happen. What happened that made you leave?”

I swallow hard, then explain it to him. Cash nods and sighs. “Anyone in their right mind would have done the same thing as you,” he says gently. “Presley, I don’t care how much you love Colson or how much he was hurting. You didn’t deserve that and you deserved to get some space from the whole thing. No one could blame you for that.”

I slump over, hanging my head, and heave out a huge sigh. “Fuck,” I whimper.

Cash’s hand goes to my shoulder. “It’s okay, Pres,” he says quietly. “None of this is anyone’s fault but Megan’s. If you need to blame someone, blame that bitch.”

“Cash, she confessed,” I say, looking up at him. “That’s where I was this morning when no one could get ahold of me.”

Cash blinks in shock. “Wait, what?”

I nod. “I went to her house,” I explain. “I had my phone recording in my bag. She confessed to the whole damn thing.”

“Let me hear,” Cash says hastily. I pull my phone out and open up to the clip. Cash’s eyes widen and by the end of it, he’s even smiling. “Holy shit. You got her to confess, Presley. What are you going to do?”

“Post it to Instagram,” I say. “Tag her ass. And hope it’s up long enough for people to hear it and not get it taken down.”

“Do it,” Cash says. “Now. Post it right now.”

“Are you sure?” I ask.

“Send it to me. I’ll post it, too,” he says. “Hell, we all will. Let me call the others.”

Within half an hour, everyone is at Cash’s place. Ashleigh, Slim, Rook, Baze. Within minutes, everyone has the recording and we sit around the living room, our fingers hovering over the post button.

Cash looks around at us. “Are we ready?”

“Ready,” Slim says.

“Consequences be damned,” Ashleigh says. “This shit ends now.”

“Okay,” Cash nods. “We post in 3…2…1.”

Honestly I am SO PRIVILEGED bc my workplace is kept pretty cool (it’s a grocery store) (I am 🤏 this close to demanding a fight to the death to the next customer who says it’s nice out (to be fair at 7am it is still nice)) and I have a nice setup to keep cool on my break outside/in the car (it’s nearly a shade box and I have ice packs and a mini fan) even if I still get very warm doing my job. (I am taking it slowly so that I hopefully don’t overdo it)

And I drive. And I can usually get going quick enough that the wind from the open windows isn’t too bad. (I try to park where there’s going to be shade over the car when I get off) and bc mum and I aren’t good in the heat we have many fans already so we have several fans going and with the furnace “cool air fan” as well. the house isn’t that bad either with all the fans going (not about to do more than absolutely necessary or bake anything though)

Like. Tbh. At 6-8 degrees cooler. I felt way hotter last week when I got my new tattoo bc I was walking around in high humidity SWEATING SO MUCH and it couldn’t evaporate until I got a long time to sit under strong cool air. Bc I wasn’t just inside all the time like im making a concerted effort to stay inside right now.

But uh. After the heat dome of ‘21. Definitely got Even More fans. (Some rechargeable portable ones) More cooling bandanas. More ice packs.

It’s me!! (With enough fans and access to the concrete floored basement that I can lay on as needed - or sleep on if desperate so far it’s tolerable indoors at least :) …I say as if I haven’t had at least a bit of a headache most days DESPITE holding up at least two of the food/water/sleep triangle of helping to prevent but the Tylenol and Advil are mostly keeping it from getting too bad so far. ) but uh. I’m managing alright as long as I can mostly stay inside I think

(I uh. Totally answered the door in a mesh bra and just the shorts. Oops 🤷🏻‍♂️) it’s. Just about 30 which. Is awful and horrible and Should Not Be. (I remember when 25 was a BIG DEAL bc it wasn’t normal) but at least it hasn’t crossed above 30 yet. And it shouldn’t based on my shitty weather apps’ latest forecast update? We’ll see but I am HOPEFUL!!

Im. Physically. Physically I’m doing better than expected to be honest. But I’ve feared the heat of the summer for a while and EVEN MORE bc of how I had to try to hold it together during the heat dome and how I really couldn’t but had to help mum survive it. I’m mentally not doing great because I am so stressed out and kinda panicking (even though mentally I’m not even panicking im jsut resigned) over it even though I know I’m as prepared as I can reasonably be and I have lots of stuff to help keep cool.

My sister (THE FUCKER) is enjoying it and is actively going outside to lay in the sun 😭 (she wears sunscreen at least)

Uhhhh venty TW for uh. A whole bunch of shit/anything you can think of probably tbh. (Stress, panic, suicide, disordered eating, weight are the big things) Under the cut 😬 (but seriously as long as I survive the heat (and hopefully don’t catch Covid again even though I have to sometimes drink a little bit at work and probably won’t wear a mask (as I do in all indoor spaces) on my ship when I sail tbh) I’ll be okay :))

Like the stress and panic is. Like I don’t mentally feel like I’m panicking. But my body certainly feels like it. It’s awful and horrible and I can’t wait for fall to come. Or the cold wind on the sailboat. Or at least just. Low 20s as the high again.

BC despite what everything in me is saying. I WILL fucking survive this. The alternative doesn’t let me talk to my friends and make silly doodles.

But it’s been a while since I’ve felt so like. Suicidal. but strangely so disconnected from it. (Don’t worry I’ll survive The Thoughts,they’re just an old friend at this point that comes back every once in a while like “STILL? 🙄” even though for the most part I actually like. Want to live and am the happiest I’ve been in my life.

But more than that (bc that’s tolerable and I’m the Most Familiar with that) it’s the fucking. I’m having trouble eating bc of the stress and heat. (I was able to eat my after work dinner though which is good bc I have a board meeting soon)

And with certain people being harder on my food choices than normal I’m just “just lose weight. 50 pounds and nobody could say shit” is PREVALENT and echoing but. I don’t really have the energy to devote to that. And while it may be important to build my strength back up to Portaging again (bc I want to do more paddling) but the thing is there are only two valid reasons right now for me to seek to lose weight (my doctor (who to be fair I rarely see but at least once a year lately for various complaints) hasn’t said anything)

One reason is bc I’d probably fare better in the heat if I were smaller. (The other is maybe I wouldn’t wear out the thighs of my pants so quickly).

But the only two times I tend to ALLEGEDLY lose weight are if I’m stress free walking around on vacation for a While or if I’m basically relapsed into an eating disorder, not otherwise specified. (Nobody knew nobody figured it out but I live i got through it I’m fucking amazing bc I live. And I give myself the fuel to keep going bc fuck it never really worked bc I needed nobody to know so badly that I still needed to eat a bit but even still now even knowing how much harm it could’ve done I’m still fucking proud of the fact that I’ve gone 48 hours without eating anything at all. And I hate that I am. (Or after sailing and then getting covid I did end up losing at least 10, but I don’t keep very good track of my weight generally for my own sanity and wellness)

But unfortunately I don’t have the kind of money to quit my job or reduce hours to part time and just walk everywhere without regard to time.

So I’m at a bit of an impasse.

Im. Mostly okay with my body. It hurts a lot. But generally speaking I can do everything I want or need it to do if I haven’t reached my limit that day.

Im striving for body neutrality and positivity on better days.

Like fuck. Someone else I’d find cute with my body. But because it’s *me*

But it’s fine.

I’ll survive. I’ll read some stuff to cathart.

Hopefully I’ll get some time once it cools down to SHAKE MY ASS to some of the cool new music that I’ve been sent bc tbh I think honestly it would help a LOT. (Finding the joy in movement to letting the music take over FUCK YEAH)

Setting up camp has become a ritual for the two of them now. Every night, No matter where they are, Scott chooses a spot and then Scar build a fire and cooks them dinner. aahh its been a day. I . started my day wth my dog being sick in... a variety of ways off and on (i wasnt able to sleep a lot bc of it ;-; poor guy needed to go out every like. hour + was heaving too. almost missed the transit bc of cleaning up ?? you know

+ when I got home my older brother who's been visiting from BC had to be carted away via ambulance bc he couldn't move <:' ) he'd hurt his back pretty badly a few months ago and something let go tonight. so !!

all that being said I might be a little absent this week. hopefully both boys feel better soon. I'm worried sick over them + am, a bit afraid of falling asleep too deeply lest my dog shit / v*m on the floor and have to sit in the room with it bc I've passed out cold orz" .....vet tomorrow if hes still ucky feeling. idk if that warrants staying home with him (bc im afraid he'll shit and v* on the floor/on the deck ? and generally just not knowing whats wrong with him) but !! i huheuhugghh I waNT TO
