Aight, I'll ask. Monsters vs. Aliens with Megamind? If it's not too much trouble?

It's more of a fan theory than like a fic idea or anything, and I'm surely not the first person to mention this, but two other ppl asked about it so I digress --

Quick recap of the first couple minutes of Megamind: Megamind (and Metroman) were both shuttled off of dying planets by their parents a la Superman. Megamind was also given Minion, a fish with some kind of satellite implant, and told Minion would "take care of him".

Minion's existence here implies two things: one, that Megamind's planet hosted more species than just the blue humanoids Megamind is a member of; and two, that these species (as well as whatever other species existed with them) have a hierarchal relationship. Given that Megamind's planet is also very blue, and what little architecture we see is wide-open and curvilinear, we can also theorize a bit about Megamind's species being amphibious or semi-aquatic. Megamind's incredible intellect and predisposition to engineering also seems to have a precedent on his homeworld: a supercomputer and some out-of-focus machinery are shown in close proximity to baby Megs' crib, implying that his people were a highly industrial species relying on advanced technology.

Now consider Gallaxhar's design from Monsters vs. Aliens.

Distended cranium, blue (indigo, but still) skin, purplish flush on his ears implying red blood and black eyebrows – all features Megamind's species has. He's even got the glittery white clothing and high collar that Megamind's parents wear. Now of course, Gallaxhar also has considerably different features – he's in the 7-8 foot range, his head is much taller than those of Megs' species, four eyes instead of two, and six tentacles instead of two legs. It's highly possible that hierarchal scale, larger craniums and extra limbs/eyes were prized features on Megamind's world – more brainpower and ability to multitask, which are both ideal in industrial cultures.

So extrapolating off of our theories on Megamind's planet, it's possible that Gallaxhar is of a species that dominated over Megamind's before their planet was destroyed.

Consider, further, this bit of Gallaxhar's backstory:

Now, Megs' planet was pulled into a black hole, it didn't have the relatively easier destruction of a core meltdown. But we're never given a good ceiling for the abilities at Gallaxhar's disposal, and "destroyed" could mean anything from "I caused a black hole to happen" to "I knew it was happening and decided not to warn anybody". (You could go with the latter option if you wanted the Superman callbacks in Megs' backstory to hold out.)

What does this mean for Megs? Personally I'm given to think the events of Monsters vs. Aliens happened before the events of Megamind, since MvA came out a year before. And Megamind seems to have eidetic (or at least very clear) memory of his homeworld – I wouldn't put it past him to have scrounged the wreckage of Gallaxhar's ship both for parts and for answers about himself.

Especially where his de-gun comes in. What is that blue glowing stuff it uses, anyway?

Trace quantonium, perhaps?

Other ideas for an actual crossover are as follows:

-A legal loophole of some sort prevents Area Fifty-Something from appropriating Megs and Minion since they were already in federal incarceration (The Metro City Prison warden and General Monger have had more than a few annoyed calls over the years)

-Roxanne and Derek are related (they have similar coloring, slim figures and squared-off jawlines. Derek is like, Roxie's cousin who's unashamedly trying to replicate her success) or they at the very least know of each other

-In the same vein of thinking, Roxie taking Susan out to lunch sometime

-Megamind & Dr. Cockroach team up (but quickly get more preoccupied with Minion becoming drinking buddies w the Missing Link)

-Somehow I want B.O.B. and Metroman to meet and B.O.B. fucking loves MM's music. They're himbo kings

-Also B.O.B. reading Hal to filth

-Again, I don't have like, actual fic ideas for this, but I do at some point want to draw Susan holding Megs in the palm of her hand because that would be incredibly cute.

hey, sorry idk if its ok for me to ask for advice here, but im really lost and dont know where else to go.

i might be starting testosterone really soon, (via informed consent) but i keep flipping back and forth on whether or not i'm sure i want it. some days i think, "yes 100% im a man i want T right now" and thinking abt the effects of T makes me euphoric. other days i think, "wait AM i sure tho? what if it turns out i hate it actually" and thinking abt the effects of T on those days makes me anxious and ambivalent.

i think it might be just a fear of change, but i'm not sure, and i'm worried about making a decision i'll regret forever. it doesnt help i keep seeing ppl say things like "you need to be 100% sure you want hrt before u start because going back and forth puts a huge strain on the body" etc, but i dont know if i ever will be 100% sure.

what do you make of this? do i really need to be 100% sure? am i rushing in too fast? or is this just anxiety talking?

i spent years agonizing over if i was really sure that i wanted to start t, and you know what it taught me?

no one is ever 100% sure about anything. it’s an impossible task. that’s just not how people work — you’re always going to find more things to be anxious or unsure about when you think about it because it’s an unknown thing and it’s completely natural to be at least a little unsure of unknown things.

and most of the time, nobody expects you to be 100% sure about big decisions because we all know it’s an unfair expectation. nobody told me i couldn’t go to college because i wasn’t 100% sure where i wanted to go. nobody tells you to never drive anywhere because you’re not 100% sure that the car won’t crash. accepting risk is a part of life. trusting ourselves to make the best decisions we can — and trusting ourselves to be able to handle whatever happens next — is an unavoidable part of life.

the only reason we’re held to that impossible standard of 100% certainty when it comes to medically transitioning is because people are transphobic and they want us to second guess ourselves and put off hormones or surgery out of fear. if everyone waited until they were 100% sure, no one would ever transition, and that’s exactly what they want.

i look at it like this: hormones are like any other medication. you take them because you decide they have a good shot at making your life better even though there’s also a chance they might be ineffective, have bad side effects, or even make things worse in the end. we accept that risk every time we take a medication because we weigh the options and decide the good that could come of them is worth that risk. imagine if doctors only offered medical care to people when they were 100% sure it would work and not have any side effects — they would never do anything at all!

i can’t tell you if hrt is right for you. i can’t tell you if the risk is worth it for you. what i can tell you is that, when i was unsure about what to do, there were two things that made me decide it was worth the risk:

the first is that i knew i wanted to give myself a chance. the idea of going on hormones only to get more dysphoria from it sounded terrifying, but the reality was that i was already living with dysphoria! and the idea of just accepting that because i was afraid to try the thing that could make it better was even more terrifying. at the end of the day, i decided it was better to choose the option that could make things better than it was to just spend the rest of my life wondering if it would’ve helped. the worst case scenario in both choices is dysphoria, so i figured, why not pick the option where the best case scenario is euphoria? i know dysphoria is something i can live with because i’ve been doing it for years, so i felt that i could trust myself to be able to deal with that outcome if it came. i knew it was possible that i would regret it and wish i had never started t, but i also knew i would regret it even more if i went my whole life never having given myself a chance at something better than the dysphoria i already live with. i figured, if i have to take a risk, why not take the one that excites me instead of the one i would just be taking out of fear?

the second is that hormones are fucking slow. there can be some changes that happen fast but for the most part, the changes on t take time to happen fully, and if i wanted even more time i knew i could take a lower dose to slow things down further. it’s not like you just wake up one day with a totally different body — it’s a process, and if at any point in that process you realize you don’t like what’s happening, you can stop! you’re completely in control; the second it starts to feel like it’s making something worse instead of better, you can decide to stop taking it. even with the changes that came quickest for me, i had time to assess as they started happening, and it would’ve been as simple as putting down the syringe and never using it again if i decided i didn’t want those changes to continue.

(and the people who say you can’t start and stop because of the strain on your body are exaggerating — i had to start and stop multiple times because i was having allergic reactions to all of the serums we tried, and i was totally fine. that was never even a concern my nurse brought up to me. i’m sure it’s not ideal to do that constantly, but i don’t think it’s a big thing you have to worry about.)

again, i can’t tell you if starting t is the right move for you. all of this is just how i made that decision for myself; i can’t make yours for you. what i can tell you is that you are more than capable of making a thoughtful and informed decision without being 100% sure. certainty is not a requirement.

and frankly, anyone who tells you they were 100% sure when they made that decision is either lying about it because they feel like they should’ve been totally certain, or they were in a position to make the decision so quickly that it didn’t leave time to mull things over and find things to be unsure of.

which leads me to my final point: if you’re thinking about it this hard and trying to be this meticulous about making the right decision, you’re absolutely not rushing into it. whatever decision you make, you’ve clearly put a lot of thought into it and that’s all anyone can ask of you.

this is your decision, not anyone else’s, and already you have everything you need to make the best decision you possibly can. trust yourself to choose wisely, and trust yourself to be able to handle whatever your choice brings. you got this.

am I the only one who doesn’t think steve actually liked robin romantically? if you think about it he denied it the whole season while dustin pushed him onto her, which is a call back to how mike was pushed onto el in s1 until he figured that’s what he should want, that he should like her, which i think is the conclusion steve might’ve also come to with robin. idk it just didn’t seem very genuine when he said it, he gave reasons before for why they don’t fit together romantically, they have major platonic best friend dynamic (I think elmike is more of a sibling dynamic but it still works), and the qualities he named when he was saying why he liked her were all very platonic compliments imo.

(one could argue they work both platonically and romantically but he didn’t say anything about her looks or stuff like that which people (especially steve) usually would in that type of confession like “you’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen yadayadayada” idfk lol something along those lines)

also he just didn’t seem sad at all when she told him other than realizing that she was gay which I think was a whole other deal, he wasn’t sad she was gay cuz then they couldn’t be together, he was processing robin coming out to him in the 80’s as someone who’s called ppl homophobic slurs lol.

also if you see stobin like mileven their relationships parallel each other very well possibly foreshadowing milevens fate

these pictures next to each other are very telling if you apply what i’ve said to them, they both have a closeted gay character (robin and mike) and then a character who supposedly likes said gay character (steve and el) only difference is mileven has been together for a while and stobin never did because robin came out to steve instead of going along with it and (possibly) using him as a beard which does make sense for several reasons one being that they’re older so they’re more mature and robin has come to terms with her sexuality already. plus if you consider the above screenshots, two slowburn/‘will they won’t they’ romances which one of is already canon and I can’t begin to list the amount of joyce/mike parallels…

also we know how steve is sort of trying to fill a space with almost any girl, he just wants to be in a relationship so when he seems bummed he and robin can’t be together in s4 it seems more like he would see her as an option just because she’s there, if she wasn’t gay.

anyways I don’t think steve or el actually like mike or robin that way! I haven’t rewatched s3 in forever tho so maybe this is wrong but I just can’t see steve actually having liked robin ever. Would the rest of the smiling critters have Miraculous/miraculum (idk how's it exactly called) too? Which ones would they have if yes? Would it be kinda based on the animals or character more, or maybe even smth else?

Cuz ironically the pig miraculum is like for a cheery person so it fits with the piggy smiling critter in both cases

Alright so, on the og series the miraculous are given to whoever the miraculous guardian aka master fu decides they are worthy of having them, so he gives the cat and ladybug miraculous to adrien and marinette bc they proved they were good people. The thing is that besides them two, and ofc the villain, the rest of the people that get miraculous they only get them temporarily when chat noir and ladybug need help.

THE THING IS that who chooses who gets the miraculous in the og series is marinette?, like ok shes a very good ladybug but i find it kinda nonsense that she being a 14yo teenager gets trusted by the miraculous guardian (whos like, old af) to choose who gets supernatural power????? idk but personally doesnt make sense to me, i would understand it if she had like atleast A DECADE of experience with them but she barely has any ;-;

SO MY POINT WITH THIS is that i wanted to avoid that same thing bc again, doesn't make any sense to me, so in thia AU theres no guardian! yippeee!

So how the fuck do they even get them in the first place? Easy! They found them! This universe follows the same prompt as the og one where nineteen of the miraculous were sheltered by the order of the guardians (Ppl designated to take care of them), BUT on this AU said order would eventually fall apart/perish for a reason i havent figured out yet LOL on my behalf i just made this au like, yesterday LMAO

After this happened, the miraculous they sheltered got lost, and since the Order was erradicated, there was no one that would actively search for them. SO some time later, mr prototype found an old book that told the tale about the miraculous and blablabla and the infinite power that the black cat and ladybug miraculous give to whoever lands their hands on them, and so he decided to hire investigators and archeologists to find these precious jewels he learned about. Although he didn't find the black cat and ladybug miraculous, he did find the butterfly and peacock. Then after a while, catnap and dogday found the ladybug and black cat miraculous. So going back to your question (too many words just to get here LOL), i still need to develop this au some more, but im planning to make dogday very interested in the miraculous thing, therefore while investigaating them them out of pure curiosity, and adding that the ladybug miraculous makes him luckier he would actually get to find some of them. This said, the rest of the critters could get one on two situations, 1) like dogday and catnap, they get lucky enough to find one, 2) a little like on the og story, in a very very VERY VERY VERY (emphazise on V E R Y) fucked up situation they might encounter, as the critters are good friends to dogday and catnap, they could give them one of the ones they found, but again this would be on a VERY fucked up situation

if i had to choose which one of them to give a miraculous it would prob be either crafty or kickin mainly bc they are the ones that dogday trust the most besides catnap, or in a very specific situation bubba could get one too, a Felix like situation where he steals one from the prototype but on this case it would be out of greedyness lol, very much like layla

and about which one would they get.. i was thinking on giving crafty either the fox (gives the power of Illusion) or the rabbit (Gives the power to time travel), as for kickin he would prob get the turtle (gives the power of Protection aka s h i e l d) or i would go for the safe option and give thim the rooster. As for why they would get those animals miraculouses, my main reason for choosing them would be how responsible they would be (or how i think they would be) with the power each of them gives, for example, crafty would get the rabbit one bc whoever carries it must be really careful with it as it involves time travel, and on my personal vision of crafty she would def be able to handle it

I think both parties are overreacting regarding Malia and Katelyn. People took it way too far with hate and jealousy , but also people saying “you are just jealous of their beauty” whenever someone says that they just do not like girls. Not hate her , but don’t like , simply because girls aren’t a public figures the way snc are. And truthfully we don’t have to like everyone surrounding snc. I mean we liked Seth in the past, cause he was snc “friend” and later it turned out that he wasn’t entirely good. Elton too. I am not saying girls are bad people, but that’s the whole thing. We do not know them and that’s why i think both sides should relax. This was longer than I intended but it’s just a rant about kid fics in the startrek universe 🤧💜

I can always tell when a spirk kid/mpreg fic is written by someone with a fundamental misunderstanding of how culture and race works. I hate fics that outright condemn Spocks culture and especially when they use Kirk as a mouth piece for it it's so out of character.

It's so nasty to me to see ppl write Kirk haphazardly raising Vulcan/half Vulcan children. Neglecting their Vulcan heritage and culture. It smells like white parents rasing poc children and filling their head with dangerous notions about race. Neglecting to teach them about racism and dismissing their concerns for how the world will treat them once they enter society independently. It's why so many mixed race children grow up with a weak sense of identity.

Considering that xenophobia and discrimination are still very much present in star treks sociopolitical climate it would be extremely damaging to interspecies children and their sense of identity and even their biological health bc of actually being a different species.

WE LITERALLY SEE IT WITH SPOCK. How his lack of education on his human heritage and forced emphasis on his Vulcan heritage has left him fighting these two identities FOR MOST OF HIS LIFE. So why would y'all write Kirk taking care of Vulcan children in such a negative and dangerous way???

One of my fave kid fics is my beautiful human by ladyTauriel on ao3. It paints a really vivid picture of a loving multiracial parent child relationship. Kirk works hard trying to teach his adopted son Vulcan heritage to the best of his abilities WITH real research and he seek outside sources when he knows he is not enough. His child’s emotionalism isn’t shamed or neglected. But as a Vulcan the path of logic is essential to his growth and wellbeing and Kirk may not get it but he knows its necessary. It's so great and healthy and beautiful I love it.

For the ppl who just don't GET IT. Let me put it in another way. Living with strict or conservative parents/family and having to stifle a certain type of self expression and then finally u hit those year when ur finally independent and ur left spiraling trying to figure out who u are bc u weren’t allowed to explore or even learn about other options? Well that is this. Except racial identity is not an invisible internal struggle it also an unwillingly external one and it's something every poc is gonna have to deal with.

For queer ppl do y’all know how much different it would be if ur parents would have given u the option to explore ur sexuality??Or even expressed to u that different sexualities existed and they aren’t queerphobic???

Growing up as a interspecies child having one half of ur identity just not even made available to u is wild. So many consequences. Vulcans are telepaths. They need guidance perfecting these abilities why would Kirk just??? Neglect this especially if he’s taken in the challenge of parenting. Kirk raising Vulcan children as if they are just average human children then them being set out independently into society being rejected by both Vulcans and humans and not having either identity properly reinforced at home would be fucking awful to them.

You'll have a cute new pocket-sized gf who's always down for snuggles and will absolutely shoot people who wrong you, darling. <3

Neutral Ending: If you're not alright with her polyamory or with waiting on her, there's two ways this can go! You part on amicable terms, but there would be an option to be open to flings in the future, lol. but once you Agree to "only flings" then you'll never have another chance because she's going to mentally mark off the possibility of a serious relationship with you entirely KJDNG but you'll still get to see her sometimes! :D Otherwise, just parting ways, you may never see her again at all.

Bad Ending: This could come from several possibilities. Either you haven't been down with her snuggles or smooches or piracy shenanigans at all, and she kinda just drops you because those are all super important to her. :'( Or you get to the point of the nighttime visit and have Big Issues with her about the disappearing act! Secretforger's Route (never thought I'd write those words) would definitely be... Interesting! They are aro/ace so there isn't a romantic possibility, but you could be shooting for a QPR anyway so have at it! - I have no idea how this would start. You either know Eliana who's carrying the book, or Liifa who's carrying the book, or Secretforger picked you as their next victim and you pulled an Eliana and decided you were going to make them into your friend now! I'll work based off that one because it's easiest lol. - They're going to... Well, try to do their 'job' which is haunting you, showing you horrible visions, and implanting paranoia-inducing things into your mind! They're also going to try to get you to make a Deal that gives them access to your soul. If you want to live, Don't ♥ - You'll need to have your own Edgy Angst Streak to garner their interest, but they definitely have a preference for the ambitious and ruthless. Often you can actually distract them from their game by doing horrible things to achieve your goal, and they'll want to see more horrible things so they'll help you out sometimes! But they do also want to see you fail sometimes. :)

Good Ending: You end up with a somehow-amicable friendship with them! If you're on good enough terms, you may be able to talk them into snuggling! (Even if you don't ask, they might swap to Domestic Housecat Form and snuggle you anyway, but you can't say anything about it. Say a word and they leave.) I don't know if they'd ever be in an official QPR? so this is about as close as you can get! (unless i figure smth out later lmao)

Neutral Ending: They're still harassing you, trying to corrupt you, etc. You're treating them like Abaddon's most disappointing child who couldn't balance a pencil on their claw if they really really really tried to. Mutual annoyance! :D

Bad Ending: homeboy (gender neutral) it's a demon from a book of demons, this ending is the most likely probably! :') They're going to corrupt and possess you and use you for evil things, like murder and general mayhem - and then they're going to unpossess you, and leave you to deal with the aftermath of their joyride. >:) honestly their route is kinda one of those... "you're lucky if you die before its over" kind of routes because otherwise you have to deal with their cruel curses and aftermath for the rest of your life. gkfjnKJSDFNJ they are Not Kind <3

I wrote out so many quotes 'cause your language is beautiful and you manipulate it to express complicated figures with simple words so easily is breathtaking. SO I took many quotes and one seriously got on my mind

"would you forgive him just as readily if he were to kill someone in front of you?" I feel like I'd need you elaborate on that one. The thought looks curious as an idea for a situation but at the same time I understand how easily forgiving reader would be borderline ignoring severance of the situation(maybe??? Im still not sure how this works since we got fans already knowing he unalives ppl easily in the first place + the whole setting does collocate with high death rate so...) and on the other hand, abandoning him is just gameover. So I thought the closest to actually getting through this situation without being too unrealistic would be two options

First one is probably classical "y/n already knew it before and them getting close to FMN was with that fact taken into account" and the second one is (mourning the loss of life then) turning to him to adress the issue and try to figure some other ways to "win" without killing anybody(paralyze potion??? More mind games? idk). As if it's _our_ problem and not just his. tldr: jokes on him we are not getting off of that ship.

NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS, I LOVE LOVE LOVE DISCUSSING THINGS IN-DEPTH WITH PEOPLE! this is us right now, we're sitting and talking about FMN's unstable mental health together and we're holding hands and we're having fun

when I wrote that oneshot, I wanted to keep everything as vague as possible when it came to the reader - this includes their involvement with FMN's and how they tackle the ticking bomb that is his personality and moral compass!

the only thing regarding the reader that I wanted to come across is that the reader cares about him to some degree - the depths of those feelings are pretty much up to you and how you feel about FMN

the SECOND thing I wanted to come across is the fact that FMN lives in his own head, so everything HE perceives about the reader is either projection or wishful thinking, like. you CANNOT take him at face value because everything he thinks and says is a contradiction. he's obsessed with you but both denies it and revels in it, he spends so much time observing you but also misses INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS things about you. he loves you and he hates you. etc etc.

so when FMN starts thinking all that shit about how would you react if he were to kill someone in front of you, that's all intrusive thoughts. they make no sense and are fueled by impulse and things he doesn't actually want to engage in (but might, just because he's one hair away from constantly ruining his own life in one way or another, FMN is self-destructive above all else)

the message underneath is that he simply just wants to keep being awful and irredeemable because he wants to show you that he's ugly inside and outside because he's STILL pretending to be a smooth and very hinged person. it wasn't meant to establish that the reader NEVER saw him kill or commit any other atrocities, or that they're willingly blind or anything else - again, those aspects are left vague for whoever reads this to fill in the blanks AND FMN cannot be trusted in here, especially when reading his POV

ultimately, I can't start elaborating on how the reader would react if they saw FMN kill people fireworks style after this oneshot - because YOU are the reader, I don't control your thoughts or perception. in this oneshot, the character of the "reader" lacks any sort of backstory, motivations, or any solid info to even start thinking if they'd forgive FMN or abandon him or whatever, if that makes sense. I didn't establish if they're an arcanist or human, if they're mixed or infected, if they're willingly siding with Manus or are blind to FMN's affiliations with them, etc. it's all up to you in the end! you get to pick how you'd react in the aftermath!

if we were talking about more specifics like, "how about a reader who rejects the foundation and believes in manus?" or "can you write about a human reader caught up in the crossfire?". those things I can deffo work with because there's context for me to start from

Hii so sorry for bothering you but, I love writing I’ve been doing it for a long time. I’d like to post on tumblr but I’m kinda new to it and don’t really know how to use it (gifs, text colors,…) so if it’s okay for you could you maybe teach me how to use it or give me some tips?

Don't worry, it's really no bother at all💖 And while I don't think I'm the best or most experienced person to ask, I'll try to help to the best of my abilities :))

One: Banners

So, firstly, when you have everything laid out for your fic and you know your basic plot, you'll want to make a banner. It doesn't have to be fancy or anything but I feel like the nicer it looks, the more people would be attracted to read your fic. To make the banners you can use either Canva or VistaCreate. Just type it into Google and it will take you to the respective websites.

Two: The masterlist.

After you have your banner, you're gonna want to create a masterlist.

It's basically gonna keep everything organized and help people find the chapter list for the rest of your fic. You'll also include a basic summary of what your fic is about, add any warnings you want readers to know about and maybe even add your update times etc. Here's an example of one of my masterlists (idol crush! Masterlist). As you can see, it has the banner I've created (note that you really don't have to put the summary on the banner like I did) and I've also chosen to stick with a blue colour scheme.

At the bottom are my taglists which include the ppl who asked to be added. Overall, it just keeps things really organized for both you and readers.

Three: links, fonts, colour

Links

Okay, so in the masterlist you can see I've added a list of all my chapters and ppl can basically click on it and they'll be sent to whatever chapter number they've chosen. So, the way you're gonna do that is to add hyperlinks to you chapter.

An Example:

chapter one: yn?? as in THE yn??

Basically, you'll just type out a similar text as shown above in your masterlist (how you choose to label your fic chapters is completely up to you).

here, there is no hyperlink. It's just text - so if you click on it, nothing will happen. What you want to do is actually get the link to chapter one and add it to the text. You'll do it like this:

i.e) you'll type out your a text.

go to the to the actual post you're referring to.

click those 3 dots and copy the link.

go back to the original post where your text is (in this case it's your masterlist) and select the text you've written (in this case "chapter one: yn...") then click that link icon that I've circled and click paste.

You'll know you're successful if your text looks like this: chapter one: yn?? as in THE yn??

2. Fonts and colour.

Personally when I'm doing a fic, I'll pick one central colour that I'll use for everything. In idol crush!, you'll see it's blue. For the colour options, you'll see that when you select a portion of your text, a few colours will pop up like this:

To change your text to a colour, you select you text and then this bar of colours will pop up. Pick your desired colour and your selected text should change to whatever colour you picked.

I'm sure you can see that you're limited to 7 colours because those are the only options that tumblr gives. But you can go onto the internet and type in something like "font colour generator" and it'll lead you to a few websites that will allow you to customize whatever text you want, into whatever colour you want. Then you copy that, come back onto tumblr and paste it in your post!

The only troublesome thing is that you need to add some coding stuff to make it work and I honestly haven't figured out how to do it yet, so I'm just sticking to the default colours that tumblr offers for now💀 there are other authors on here who know how to do it tho! So try and ask them and I'm sure they'd help :)

Now for your fonts.

You're also given some options by tumblr. If you look up at the picture you'll see "Aa". Click on it and it will basically give you some options. "B" is for bold and then "I" is for italics.

The way to use it is also to select a portion of the text you want - then that bar will pop up and you'll click on "B", for example, if you want that text to become bolded.

Alternatively, you can also go onto the internet and search "fonts generator" and it will lead you to a website that allows you to type your text in a fancier font.

Luckily, you can simply copy it from the website and paste it into your tumblr post and it will work. It doesn't require and wierd coding stuff (?) so it's fairly simple and easy.

Some tips I'll give you:

Don't overload your posts with different colours and fonts. Sometimes it just ends up looking messy if you're trying to use too much elements at once.

Stick with one or two central colours and then one/two fonts. Also, try to not use bright colours excessively in a post because some people will shy away from reading it because the colour strains or annoys their eyes. So I highly suggest you keep the body of your fics black.

Also, make the title of your post bigger than the rest of your fic and bold it - just so it stands out more (don't make it too big though). I also suggest leaving your actual story in the plain, default black font + make sure that the spacing between your paragraphs are equal and small. It just looks neater to read.

At the end (or beginning) of every chapter, also add a link to your masterlist, the next chapter and the previous chapter. If readers see that your fic is "easy" to read (ie. they don't have to go hunting for every chapter through your blog) then it'll likely interest them in keeping up with your story.

Example: I leave something like this at the end of every fic: a link to my masterlist and a quick synopsis.

Lastly, tumblrs algorithm.

It's terrible.

Honestly really, really, terrible and if your post doesn't get attention within 2-3 days, it will get lost in the tags. I'm not saying this to discourage you, but don't beat yourself up too much if your first few posts don't blow up. There's a chance it probably just got buried in the tags and most people only pay attention to the fics at the top of the list.

That's why I want to encourage you to use the tagging system to your advantage. If you're writing a jungwon fic, use literally all of his tags : enhypen x reader, yang jungwon, Jungwon fluff, Jungwon angst etc. That way your fic will be under many tags and hopefully many more readers will see it!

The shitty algorithm is why you'll always see writers encouraging readers who've enjoyed their fics to reblog. It's the only way fics get to stay on top of the list or circulate around the platform.

I don't wanna carry on for too long bc this post is already long as it is, but I hope this has helped! And I genuinely don't mind if you have any more questions to send in. This was a very general overview, so if you want to send in some specific questions then I don't mind and I'll try to help as best as I can :)

How do you come up with super pretty design and fur patterns??

ooo this is such an open ended question theres a lot i could say ill ramble more abt more technical n specific tips under the cut, but honestly my biggest tip would just be to like, look at so much fucking furry art. looking thru other ppls art n character design is both rly fun and literally studying for ur own work. i mean id recommend looking at char design both furry and not furry in general cuz its all useful stuff and rly good to get like a diverse variety of shit to live in ur brain u can take out as insp or little things here n there for ideas for ur own design when its useful. looking at actual animals of all types and species is also useful, lots of cool patterns u can find that way and for some design in particular i will primarily be using markings similar to actual animals ive seen (at least like for example the concept of a darker mask of fur that goes under the eyes a certain way, etc). canines and felines in particular have a very very wide variety of markings u can use as inspiration. other animals too but those tend to be popular w furry art n design n r some favorites for me personally lol

for me its like, a lot of practice to get good at furry art and furry character design specifically, like pretty conscious effort since i was a kid cuz thats what i was interested in and those were the artists i admired and found as big inspiration and wanted to draw like. and ofc i am still trying to improve n learn more myself! so id say to start like.. a lot of practice, ofc looking at actual animal markings cuz u can get a LOT of good ideas that way, and big time: studying other ppls art and character design. u r never looking at other ppls art Too Much u r learning when u r having fun doing that

looking at a wide variety of dif furry styles w furry design in particular is pretty useful, especially when theyre all made for dif purposes; fursuit design vs designs for comics vs furry adoptable designs vs designs created to be animated (’animator friendly’ designs), to name a few, all r serving dif purposes n have dif goals n dif reasons for why they look the way they do.

on a more technical level of How i come up w them/make them, i sat w this one for a bit n here r some ideas i wrote down. i was trying not 2 ramble but u asked the autistic guy who is very interested in and passionate abt furry art n character design so <3 many thoiughtz under the cut so its not massively long

first is that i fuck around a LOT before i settle on smth. slap colors on shit and take colors off. if ur drawing digitally and u have a program w a filter -> color adjustments option like sai 2 u can mess w hues n saturation to get combos u never wouldve thought of without that bonus help. i tend to start working on colors/markings w digital (while i may do preleminary traditional sketches of what the character could look like before colors) cuz its way easier to test smth out and then undo it if u dont like it on digital lol. and even w how i tend to try many dif things i test around before i decide on smth i like, i always keep open the possibility that this design (if im using it as an oc) is open to being changed in the future if i find smth i like more w them

getting attached to pieces of a design and wanting to build around that is great cuz its how u figure out what u like and what is important to u w this design/character, but whats also important is being able to recognize when smth just isnt working (at least the Way ur approaching it, or maybe the character ur trying it with, etc) and u need to try a different track. u can always keep that trait u rly like and want to put on a character and just rework it into a dif design later, i do that all the time! just be content with some designs maybe just taking more time to come together and thats cool too, u need time to stew on ur thoughts n try things in ur brain b4 u test them in actual art sometimes (i mean, for me at least). sometimes u just need to sit on a character design for a while and try a lot of things before smth Clicks. at least for me! sometimes its very easy to design a character and figure out markings n stuff but other times it takes me a lot of attempts and building up a design w new ideas i am getting along the way. maybe i realize this particular design trait is cool but just isnt working on this character/design so i file it away on the backburner to test on a new character later till i find a design (or oc if i RLY like it and want to draw it a lot) who it DOES fit. 

i have a pretty big stock of inspiration n ideas i have in my brain bcuz i have been autistically obsessed w furry art and improving at my own since i was a kid so i just have a lot of Interest in this stuff and have a very big like.. amnt of shit to draw from i think? again, padding out what u have to draw from in ur brain in the first place. u could also save character design insp somewhere and look thru it before u start working on a design urself, i do that sometimes! it gets the creative juices flowing for me to look at art i admire and feel inspired by before i work on my own. do stuff to get urself inspired or ur brain working in that direction, whatever way that works for u, u know urself best w it

i often keep notes of little ideas i have or things i want to try so i can try making a character design around it later, i have always loved making characters and character design so i dont rly have problems w lack of ideas or anything, its smth u just work on and if its fun u keep working on it! as a kid id do stuff like, just look thru lists of animals and then just make a bunch of furry designs for those animals, or do stuff like assign colors or plants or elements or whatever animals and then make Furry Versions of those. that was entertaining to me and how i had fun. this kinda stuff is still good practice (emoji randomizers r fun to make character design from, for example). 

when im stumped w my own design or looking for new ideas to try that may click better, or when i just need a break cuz i definitely am not drawing all the time, i take a break from drawing and go back to looking at lots of art, aka, STUDYING <3 read comics, watch movies, etc too, whatever ur interested in and inspired by. i think a lot abt my own designs n ocs n stuff i want to draw and ideas i might use or like (or things i dont care for or am that interested in that i think ‘how can i implement that in a way that i DO like in my own design, how can i make this become interesting to me’) while im like, just living my life and seeing outfits and seeing palettes and seeing other ppls work n stuff, not JUST when im drawing. im playing around w ideas in my head before i actually draw, this is smth u probably improve on with just like, time and practice and gaining the ability to gauge if smth is worth trying before u actually draw it. again i cannot stress enough how important looking at a lot of other character design is; both what u like and what u dont like is going to be internalized and is going to be rly useful for making ur own designs. look at a lot of different art styles, look at how other ppl design characters. know that character design is something u can absolutely improve on, its not like, a talent some ppl have and some ppl dont, some ppl just r going to be more passionate abt it and WANT to spend more time on it and improve Because of that. 

back to colors! the good thing is palettes (and well everything else abt designs) r super dependant on what u personally enjoy so theres not rly right or wrong ways to do them. liek if someone asked me for tips on how i personally often create palettes for characters Right Now i could think abt it and try to pick up patterns w my own art and then explain my like thought process abt it to ppl, but thats just what i personally like doing right at this moment, and that changes! u have a lot of room to just have fun. rly look at character designs n palettes that r RLY speaking to u and figure out whats working abt it for u or how u can incorporate how much u love how that artist uses colors n palettes n what theyre Doing there to make it work into ur own work. fun studying!

now a more personal one: typically (not as a general rule but often) my oc design is built to be drawn repeatedly and not be overwhelmingly complex to me.  the goal is to get smth that looks good and interesting without actually being difficult for me cuz i know myself and know i wont draw a character thats too complicated for me lol whether id get bored or intimidated by the idea of just having to draw a whole complicated fuckin thing when i just want to doodle. for me, this means i tend to pull a lot of character design tips i learned from animation. ‘animator friendly’ kinda stuff, BUT i can typically afford to be a little more complex bcuz im not animating them. im not sure if this is still common but when i was growing up ‘good furry designs’ at least w the artists and other kids i was hanging around were often considered what was the most complex and cool looking over what was actually like, replicatable and feasible to draw consistently without spending a lot of time coloring. stuff that would make having to draw that oc for someone in a commission a complete fucking pain, but sure looks cool as a finished product so u Get why ppl go for those. but personally while i like seeing those designs i know myself and probably wouldnt buy one of those adoptables for that, cuz i know i woldnt draw it enough lol. i enjoy em and can draw some for art fight but as my own oc’s they probably wouldn’t like.. fit my own needs? i may have a much easier time drawing them now bcuz i have drawn furry art and furry character design for a long time so i can figure out what im looking at easier, but it probably wouldve overwhelmed me quite a bit when i got started (been too long for me to remember lol). and thats good to know, its good to be aware of what u want to be drawing and figuring out what kinda stuff YOU like. 

adding on from above but that paragraph got long: of course having designs that r rly complex is a lot of fun n stuff im not saying dont do that im saying for ME personally a lot of my oc design tends to be centered around ‘what do i know /i/ will be capable of drawing multiple times without getting either overwhelmed or bored’. so thats a thought for me w my own designs. i also often make designs that i plan on using for like comics or smth later so i do want the design to not be terribly hard to reproduce if im planning on ‘this character is gonna be showing up quite a bit and i dont want to put a ton of work into every panel’

i will also say that like personally while markings r definitely important i DO try to mix design traits thru a more Character Design lense with a Furry Character Design lense. what i mean by that is its good to expand ur Character Design ability in general by paying attention to drawing differing body types and proportions, face shapes and like cheek/chin/etc shapes/fluff, nose and eye shapes, hair style and hair texture, etc. furry adoptables focus on creative and interesting markings on a base to make the character stand out from other wolf guys. which is also very useful to be studying and getting inspiration from for sure! i enjoy those often complex designs for sure. but for me personally i do try to take the approach of diversifying w designs (particularly w my own ocs), cuz its fun and cuz its pretty necessary when ur talking abt like, Character Design.  even as someone who often puts a lot of design traits i Know i like onto many of my ocs (mohawks <3 muscles <3 etc) like w character design its important that ur characters would not all look completely the same if they switched clothes or palettes or hairstyles yk? even when putting ‘buff’ onto multiple chars of urs cuz u just like that and drawing muscles theres many ways to make a character muscular on a lot of dif body types and proportions, for example. and while there r parts of the making these characters all look different that may b harder w furry character design (like u got all these wolves and now u gotta figure out how they all look different beyond just colors!!) its definitely still like, Necessary to me personally! i assume u were asking more abt like fur patterns rather than this kinda stuff but i would recommend u think abt that when designing characters as well, its fun and it will definitely improve ur own work in general! and it is rly necessary to practice things like a wide range of body types and hair textures n styles. it will make u a better artist overall.

look at tips from ppl who do professional character design, whether its furry artists or ppl who work with dif types of media (movies, tv, comics, video games, etc). a wider knowledge base never hurts! i have always rly personally valued tips from ppl working in the animation industry so i think thats like one of the primary ‘tutorials’ i paid more attention to and integrating from +as well as my history as a furry artist and what furry artists tend to like and consider ‘good’ character design. it just tkes a lot of fucking around n building up stuff u can draw from. and ur taste will probably change with time and as u improve. theres a place for everything and ur eyes will get better at figuring out what looks good paired together, to u, over time. u can also get great ideas n tips n inspiration from artists of all sorts of skill levels of course! 

anyway i hope this helps at all or answers ur question in some capacity, im sure theres stuff i missed but theres a lot of Words here but thats cuz i dont like.. think abt this stuff very consciously so it sounds more complicated when u write it out vs just doing it, which starts feeling more like second nature when u improve at it. i rly appreciate the compliment btw im always flattered to hear ppl like my designs!

talking about gear 5 thoughts

Okay okay so it makes perfect sense why that devil fruit would choose Luffy out of anyone else in the world because 1) he's just some goofy guy & 2) his will is absolutely indomitable. like if he wills it it's going to happen. Loss isn't even a consideration let alone a factor because he simply will become king of the pirates. While Luffy isn't some altruistic figure he does care about people especially if those people are experiencing suffering, case in point wano. it was always about beating kiado, it just also happened that the samurai had aligned interests & meeting otama, her circumstances, the overall circumstances of wano + learning about their mutual connection to ace just solidified the resolve to destroy kiado, not only because he was a monster but as a secondary motivation. kaido was never not going to be beaten, simply because that was never an option.

I think that's also a part of why ppl are drawn to Luffy specifically, he's not masquerading his intentions. There's an agenda, but it's not hidden or done via shady means he shouts it to anyone who will listen. I also love how absolutely fucking terrifying his df actually is like ur telling me this guy can not only manipulate his environment because it functions as an extension of himself, but also manipulate his opponent as well? (Seemingly, if the effects on kiados body during the fight aren't just exaggerated for the viewer) of course they wanted to hide the fruit it's fucking busted, not only that but the historic secretiveness/denial of "liberation" figures both in media & irl is soooo fitting for the op world. someone that powerful who inspires a level of trust and admiration that Luffy does is beyond threatening to a government system but especially one as fucked up & exploitative as the celestial dragons/world government.

Also the ppl bitching the animation was too goofy or silly on gear five are haters that cannot experience childlike whimsy or fun. It's a perfect contrast to how serious & dark the color palette has been through all of that fight & most of wano in general. Plus ur missing the point. like I said luffys just some goofy ass guy, it makes perfect sense for gear five to be mega silly + it honestly makes it more intimidating. ur fighting a guy that's giggling and bouncing around the whole time he's beating ur ass? insanity.

(all abt characters) while i was in my lurker phase i once saw a post that was like saying if ppl had the whole "well maybe __ shouldnt have gotten in the way 🙄" (sorry to vague the person its just genuinely been months and i doubt i could find it again) reaction towards tommys exile and tubbos execution then tommy n tubbo apologists would get mad and ive been thinking abt that, as well as the take that if techno can be criticized for tubbos execution then tubbo should be criticized for exile. similar takes had played the age card, claiming if tubbo wasnt a minor ppl wouldnt be so mad. and i think i finally settled on why that always unsettled me

one- the use of "stop playing the age card" irks me so heavily because god am i fucking *sick* of adults who do that whole "i hate kids theyre entitled brats and i shouldnt be expected to deal with them" song and dance (newsflash- kids will lash out if all you give them is negative reinforcement and hammer into them that they deserve to be treated badly because of the idea that kids shouldnt be treated with care for being kids). theres no point in playing a card of "well if the kid was an adult you wouldnt care as much!" because the fact of the matter is is that the victim is a kid and that adds serious factors into how to assess the situation. tubbo being a child factors in heavily to the situation he was put in both during his execution and during the exile arc, especially due to the adults that manipulated him. tubbo is/was inherently on unequal footing due to being a minor during those events. technoblade was not

Chat noir cannot stand being at home anymore and by chance stumbles upon Marinette wich turns into an unexpected sleepover

He couldnt think straight, he just knew that he needed to get out as fast as he can

Plag popped out in a look of concern but before he could say anything Adrien already climbed out the window and yelled "Plagg claws out" and jumped out

His movement wasent his usual cat like swiftness

It was heavy and frantic

He was stumbling around in the dark and crashing into a wall or a random pole every once in a while but ignoring it as nothing happened and just, keeps going

He was going around blindly

With the only purpose of just, getting away

After a while of hanging about at the dark he calmed down a bit, but he was still fearful

His dad yelling still ringing in his ears and with each sound feeling like another hit

"Ignore it he insisted"

"You are safe." he whispered to himself loudly with a bit of a panic in his voice and a desperation to make these words feel true

But it was getting late he knew that soon he will need to go back home but he couldnt bring himself

"Chat Noir?" Marinette blinked trying to figure out where the dark ends and where the cat starts

Marinette unexpectedly decided to be the first one to break the silence

"Thoughts, just too many thoughts" she replied honestly and wiped her eyes in tiredness and maybe tears

Even though her answer seemed quite generic he recognised the real weight these words hold

"You?" She asked softly in sleepiness

"I just couldnt handle staying there anymore"

He blurted out choking on a bit of tears

"Her honestly just made him feel like he couldnt keep it inside anymore and that he could just share it safely and it will be okay"

"Like he didnt have to keep it down anymore and he really couldnt not like this not when he finally feels safe and the adrenaline from earlier is starting to die out and the tiredness is kicking in"

"Not next to Marinette"

"When she just comes with honestly openness and without anything to hide behind"

"She could of waited a little longer he would have come up with a joke to sweep her off her feet or at least made her laugh thats a win too"

"And just have a normal conversation"

"But she chose openness and he couldnt help, but choose it too"

He was a bit shaking he didnt notice till Marinette put a hand on him "hey, do you wanna go talk inside?"

The cat was frozen in surprise at the sudden touch

but as soon as it went is as soon as it goes

"And I know your identity needs to remain a secret for yours and the safety of your loved ones"

"So tell me just as you can and want of course" she made a serious face in the end but he couldnt ignore how cute it was

He noded thankful and followed her in

"Not surprisingly her room was much warmer than the cold outside"

They set down and Marinette asked while fiddling with her fingers "So, what happened?"

"My dad just yelled at me"

"Again" he rolled his eyes with a snort of someone who learned to turn their anger into despair and nihilistic jokes

"Its or he leaves me alone and neglects me or he yells at me and traps me"

"And in the past it used to be or he neglects me and traps me or he yells at me and traps me"

"But good luck trapping Chat Noir ha ha" he said with exhaustion and finger guns

"Unless you are hawkmoth if he would of being I bet he would have trapped me then too" another bitter laugh escaped his mouth

"What about you?"

"So you know those nights when you try to go to bed and you just lay there but you cant stop thinking and your thought are running and running and you just start shaking and you cant stop and no matter what you cant sleep and you wish so badly you can but you just cant so you stand up cause you cant take it anymore"

She blurted out as well just more in a mini frantic tangent

Instead of a frantic blurt out

"So maybe" she says with a twirl of her hand like she tries to drag the word longer and just not let the sentence end

"Im having one of these nights"

She covered her face with her hand and looked away like she is even ashamed of having a problem

"Wich is super unfair everyone has problems" he scoffed in his head

"And also one thing was made sure by this conversation she was crying earlier"

"Actually yeah" he replied looking up from his knees and surprising them both

"I do get these nights from time to time"

"Now it was his turn to look away"

"Now he is the one feeling shame in having problems"

"Honestly, he thinks it made both of them feel better knowing they are not the only ones even though he and of course Marinette! would never wish this upon each other it was still nice being in the same boat"

"Its exhausting" she exclaimed and looked like she was trying to rest her had on air and getting grumpy each time it doesnt work

Chat tapped to time on his knees to signal that she can use him as a pillow

Marinette without taking a second thought took the invite and settled down

At the moment of contact Chat Noir felt like lightening were running up his spine he just hoped he didnt move

He wasent used to other ppl contact much

And he always withdrew away quite quickly

"Its not that he didnt like others touch"

"Its just that it would always overwhelm him so much"

"And it made him feel like he needed a break but every time he was ready to come back"

"There was nobody left"

"And lets not talk about how it was before school when there was nobody to begin with"

"She looked so comfortable like it was all natural being so close to someone and just putting your head down"

After a moment of rest and a sigh of relief Marinette asked "So, whats the plan?"

"Kinda how he would of asked his lady on battle he wondered if thats how he looks like"

"Uh, I kinda planned on staying awake outside until I will collapse of exhaustion..."

"Well, thats a horrible plan."

"In retrospect, he agreed but its not like he had any other options" he thought to himself

"The only room with a decent lock is the bathroom but I cant let you sleep in the bathroom!"

"I considered sleeping outside so this sounds much better"

"Chat!" She protested

"Its not like I have any better options" he sighed into his hand

"Okie but Im putting a clock to 5 in the morning so you will be back before anyone notices"

"But then what about you? dont you need any sleep?"

"I dont think I will fall asleep befor 5 am to be honest" she made an awkward laugh in an attempt to make it seem not as bad

"And, having company for a change even if will be a sleeping one soon is nice."

She looked up to him still resting on his lap with a soft smile that looks like it means Im really thankful you are here but you need to go to sleep now

"Marinette I-" he couldnt help but let a sigh of relief escape his mouth "I cant thank you enough"

"Hey what there are partne- pretty good friends for!"

"She started stammering. Now he was sure she was too tired for communication and needed some rest"

"So lets get ready for the sleep part in our kind of spontaneous sleepover!" she said like it was all part of just a regular late night party

He chuckled and replied with a simple sappy "yeah" and he got ready to bed

And in a long time he actually had a good sleep even though it was in the bathroom

I think you are spot on about Sam not wanting to get married because he feels like it ends his youth. But realistically if him and Kat want to get married and have a family, they can’t wait til 40 because it’ll be hard for Kat to naturally get pregnant and have a safe pregnancy. Sadly us women have an expiration date on that stuff. That’s why girls got pregnant at like 16 waaaay back when.

But they are too young and not ready now. I think they’d reevaluate at like 30 or so. By then their mindset on life may be totally different. And there’s nothing wrong with them being together that long and not married. I’ve been with my partner 12 years and we are only just finally feeling like we can afford to get married lol. Sometimes it’s not about being emotionally ready, you can even decide to be together forever without having to do the legal thing. They’ll figure it out I’m sure. I still think Colby will fall hard for a girl though and randomly get married before Sam LOL

sam definitely has issues with no longer being young or feeling that way, and that makes total sense. plus, as i've mentioned a bunch, marriage is a huge step that he might not be mentally and emotionally ready for. so it's better in the long run for them to wait, regardless of if either one of them wants to do it now.

but i do disagree with you on them waiting too long to have kids if they wait until 40, give or take. 40 was just a joking number to begin with for sam. i don't really think he meant literally 40, he just meant when he was older. but also, women can have children past the age of 35, which is usually the age the general consensus likes to make women worry about not having kids at. the study that most ppl refer to when talking about having the cut off date be 35 for a woman was based off stats done from rural french women from the 1600s. so there most likely was a huge list of factors that were the reason why those women couldn't have children after 35, or struggled to. you can have a health baby in your 40s without there being complications. miscariages can happen more often in your 40s, so that's something to take into mind. but women don't have expirations dates. there is more to us than just producing babies.

the reason why a lot of women had kids earlier in life too was also bc the life expentancy was lower. and modern medicine wasn't really as modern as it is today. plus any woman can have issues getting pregnant regardless of age. and on top of all of that, if they were really were struggling to have kids, adoption is always a viable option.

but i do agree that they are too young to get married or have children. i think they both have a lot of stuff they want to do still that settling down would either hinder or would make it more difficult to do bc they were a family.

maybe i'm wrong tho. but again, whatever works for them is good enough.

and yeah, i can see colby getting married before sam, hilariously. that is, of course, if he actually allowed himself to feel something for someone.
