Obsessed with the way Dick is just-so good of a parent that kids love him so much that they’ll just abandon their real parent to go to him instead.

Rose: literally talks about how Nightwing is so special and cool and how she wants to spend more time with him (I’ll upload the panel when I remember the comic). I think Slade bombed Bludhaven because he was mad Dick turned Rose away from him. Emotionally and ethically.

Jon: Superman literally calls Dick over when his son is feeling sad because Dick understands the kid so well and Jon loves him just as much.

Lian: Dick was the only person she was closest to after Roy. He called her princess and she was his second parent since her mom was in jail and also just because he treated her that way.

Gotham kids: When Dick takes care of people, they instantly bond to him and show him a level of respect that is hard to come by.

His son, Jake. Jake is a special case and my favorite because Kori actually left Dick to do her own superhero thing so Dick raised Jake by himself, as a single parent, with the help of Alfred. The devotion and mothering/fathering he did for Jake was reciprocated by such a loyalty I felt compelled to make this post.

Before the end of the Season and the leaks for the new one, i would say adapting chris as Superman son in MAWS Just makes so much Sense, like he is so anime coded

And also would match with clarck's Narrative arc about belonging somewhere about the whole journey of "being normal"

I finally got to Hey, Melissa! And Im going to have to insist the lang brothers give paul just one goddamn happy ending at some point (preferably soon) Cause um… jesus fucking christ.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a good story and i see what they were doing (p.s i stan a serial killing team of ladies. Im a feminist), but uh, this was a level of torture and humiliation i was unprepared for. And paul was just trying to help- to the point that he didn’t answer emmas call just so he could be there for melissa. Paul comes across as a very neutral guy but he’s actually a full blown hero.

And fucking Ted! Like he didn’t deserve it either but at the same time…fuck you ted.

a lot happens in chp 10 of adwd involving mance raydar and the wildlings but what i always focus on and what crushes me every time is jon's loneliness.

he's 16. he spent 14 years with no friends of his own, being constantly told he was below everyone he loved and now he thinks they're all dead. he finally made friends at the wall and those same friends got him voted lord commander, which leads him down this path of isolation.

he's plagued with nightmares of guilt over ygritte's death and his plot to send sam and gilly south. he dreams it was his arrow that killed ygritte, that sam drowns and gilly cries "tears of blood".

he desperately doesn't want to be alone, "He knew he had to eat, but it was company he craved, not food.", and when grenn invites him to eat dinner with them, "Jon wanted nothing more."

but jon is haunted by ned stark's voice telling him, "A lord may love the men that he commands, but he cannot be a friend to them." and so jon declines dinner with his friends, goes to bed and thinks, "This is my lot, from now until the end of my days."

he doesn't throw a tantrum or cry himself to sleep, like any isolated teenage with too much responsibility would be well within their right to do. he accepts that this is how it is and it will always be this way, because he has always been isolated and apart from those he cares about and how could he ever have dreamed that this wouldn't be his lot.

i wish jon would feel more connected to the rest of the superfam. he had two books in the last few years and none of them made a point to built relationships with kara, kon, kenan and nat. i think more people would care for him if he had strong familiar relationships. so far he has a relationship with his folks (and even then, it’s kinda strained) and his siblings. his most prominent relationship right now is his boyfriend (which is not a bad thing, i like jay). his only friends are damian (and damian has his own things going on right now so they aren’t as close anymore) and perhaps nia too (even though they’ve had almost no interactions and we’re mostly told about their “strong” friendship). i like jon, but i wish he didn’t feel like an outsider to his family. but then again, he probably wishes the same.
