Like I said in my intro post, while I am a fandom artist in my main, this blog is only for my SMG4 theories and related show stuff. So, sorry but no art requests please. It's not bc of commissions or anything, rather:

I simply don't have the time (last year of university, capstone, production job, etc.)

The tablet I use is hanging on by a thread; I don't know how much longer it will last. Definitely scared that it might crash and lose my progress in what I've drawn. So, while I'm saving money for a new one, I've placed a limit on using it entirely

It's not that I have anything against anyone, yall been chill in the community. Just overall, I don't want to pressure myself into a commitment I can't keep. When I'm not able to. Everything I know heading into Crescent City for the first time (as soon as I hit post): starting with the obvious it’s called Crescent City😂 and written by Sarah J. Maas (and will be my last “unread” series of hers thus far).

The books are very large, and have many cover renditions changing up the color combos, and theories I have based on the fact one has wolves and another has a girl with a lock heart… the latter feels Throne of Glass reference to me, the former to it giving werewolf vibes (which I think some characters are?) though I believe most are Demi-fae

The main characters name is Bryce Adelaide Quinlan, she’s something starry, wine-red hair (same as Ansel), and great representation. She seems to be someone I will love! With some great quotes!

Danika has cool hair, seems like my vibe, will probably love her… I think she’s a main friendship in the books? But I also know there’s a murder so idk.

Lidia Cervos has great fan art (and some ship that looks like day and night) and I have a feeling she might be a favorite for me, plus she’s listed as a Throne of Glass character (though I don’t recognize the name; could be a fandom wiki error) but I have hope as there is crossover between ACOTAR & maybe TOG (I don’t know for sure on that one; I just have hope).

There’s a cute dog/lion/wing (maybe Chimera?) thing/pet/creature and I already love it.

Some guy named Hunt is supposed to be a hunk (yes I said it that way mostly for names sake😂)

There’s good star lines… like literally just talking about quotes about stars!!! A Maasverse classic!

That's right. We all love poll stealing, and although we've made the decision to discontinue it for the grand final of the Les Mis Shipping Showdown, we couldn't just let it go entirely. Which is why we're overjoyed to announce Steal Off 2, an absolute free for all to determine which ship from our original bracket is The most loved when it comes to dedicated creators of excellent fanworks.

You heard us, ALL 32 SHIPS entered into this tournament WILL be eligible for submissions, regardless of when they were eliminated. So here really is how [your OTP] can still win.

As a reminder, here's the original bracket (we'll also include a plain text list of ships under a Read More at the end of this post for anybody unable to see/read from the image.)

Did your favourite niche ship like Valjean/Fauchelevent or Fantine/Favourite not make the cut? No worries! As part of Steal Off 2 we will also be holding a separate Newcomers' Championship for those of you who want to show your love for the rarepairs, crackships, etc. that didn't make it to the bracket proper - and who knows, perhaps the steals we receive could be used as supporting evidence for their inclusion in future mini tournaments? 👀

Now onto the boring but vitally important part:

Submissions for Steal Off 2 will OPEN at 00:01 BST (UTC + 1) on Monday 21st April 2025, and close at 19:30 BST (UTC + 1) on Wednesday 30th April 2025.

Any works submitted late OR early will not be counted. Even if it's early or late by one (1) singular calendar minute. If you submit early we might be niceys and politely remind you to resubmit your fanwork once the submission window has opened, but as this rule is intended to avoid overloading the mods during a period where we are both very busy IRL, we might also just get annoyed with you and say you've wasted your chance and your fanwork doesn't count anymore. So don't take that risk!

The submission guidelines and scoring system remain exactly as they did for steal works submitted as part of the bracket, with one exception - ONLY brand new works (or brand new chapters/instalments of existing works) will count for this submission period, with the previous backdating clause now null and void.

As per our post from the other day, works deemed as egregiously low effort, designed to exploit loopholes in the scoring system, or which contribute to a pattern of spamming from a specific fanbase or creator may see their scores reduced or the offending works disqualified from the contest entirely. Part of the reason we have given you a) a nearly ten day submission window and b) almost three weeks' notice before submissions even open is to allow you to focus on creating quality fanworks with real time, effort, and love put in, as opposed to focusing purely on The Points of it all. Think of this as a fandom-wide fanworks fest that just so happens to have a winner at the end ;)

Even right now, as I am writing, I still don't know if I will actually post this or just add it to my drafts as nothing more than a personal vent. Regardless, I guess that if I am here I just need to talk about this.

So let's talk.

The way the FNDM has been acting all defeated all month long has really grown to annoy me, and I am tired.

RWBY's future is unsure right now, and all this uncertainty is painful. My feelings are all over the place, swinging from terror and sadness to hope, all the time. I constantly check Kerry's and RWBY's Twitter page in hope to find any kind of news.

I can't give you a certain answer because, again, this is all uncertain. But that also means that there's still hope.

My point is, acting as if we have already lost isn't going to help anyone. Not RWBY, not CRWBY, and not ourselves, the fans who love this show so dearly.

I don't know what is going to happen, but I know that I refuse to stand around and do nothing. It's why I keep checking for news, why I am playing the show both on rooster teeth and crunchyroll all the time for views (I think that on CR I already replayed the whole series at least twice). It's why I am spamming tags, and being loud about my love, and looking and sharing all RWBY and CRWBY posts to give engagement, why I am watching every rwby_vt live on twitch.

I want to know what is going to happen more than anything, not knowing is killing me, but at same time I am terrified of the answer. Despite that, and despite my feelings swinging all around, I am still choosing to have hope.

Hope is a conscious choice, and a brave one. Because I know that being pessimistic is easier, it avoids setting us up for disappointment... but if we rob ourselves of the chance that things could turn out alright then all we're doing is decrease the chance that it will happen, and just anticipate our pain and disappointment.

As Yang said, no hope means we have already lost, and that's not the case. CRWBY, Kerry, is working really hard to save RWBY. Acting defeated already isn't just a disservice to us, but to them specifically and to everything they are currently doing. It's like telling them that it's all useless, that they've already lost, and I find that insulting. I refuse to. They deserve to see that we care and believe in them.

RWBY is THE show about hope. Shouldn't we follow the example?

General Roleplay Etiquette & Tips

whether you’re new to roleplaying or have been doing it for a while, it’s always good and dandy to brush up on some general rules to avoid problems!

1) Communication!

Communication is key when it comes to roleplaying. It can be very easy to overstep boundaries! To prevent this, you should always consult with your partner before sending starters. It’s wise to discuss genres, plots, triggers, and general knowledge for your characters.

2) Tagging and Spam!

Before tagging another blog in your post, you should stop and ask yourself 1. is this relevant to them? And 2. did you ask them for their permission? Tagging people in posts that don’t involve them can be repetitive and overstep a boundary, leading to possible problems down the road.

3) Rules and Carrds!

You should be reading their rules and guidelines! Don’t skim, just take a minute and read them thoroughly! Reading rules and triggers will avoid any possible future slip ups. And read the full carrd! A better understanding of their character will lead to meaningful world building and plots.

4) Canon Blogs and OC Blogs!

Do not always assume a canon blog is going to know your oc! If somebody roleplays as a canon character, then it is best not to assume that they will want to be part of your own muse’s lore! Ask them before involving their blog!

5) Plagiarism and AI!

Roleplaying is all about creativity and originality. What’s the fun if you use AI or copy other people? From the way people design their characters, carrds, or overall blog, it’s not cool to steal somebody’s flow without even crediting. Be cool and original! It is more fun this way.

6) Minors in 18+ Spaces!

I get it, it can suck feeling left out, but it’s there for a reason. Adults can feel uncomfortable too! And making other people uncomfortable isn’t a good feeling, whether you’re an adult or a minor. So if the blog says 18+ only or MDNI, do not interact!

It is for the protection of both parties as minors shouldn’t be seeing 18+ content, and the adult could get into serious problems or feel unsafe if a minor was snooping around their adult content.

Also, don’t lie about your age. 9/10 we can absolutely tell that you’re just some kid trying to write your muse in lewd adult situations.

7) Building Up to the Moment!

In the same way that we as roleplayers have to communicate, so do our muses! You can’t just out of the blue claim two muses are dating (especially if the other person wasn’t aware of this. Communication!) you gotta ease into it! I promise roleplaying the initial meetings and dates and everything leading up to the big question is just as fun, if not more, than the actual status of your muses dating.

This goes for other genres as well! Lead up is very important! And it will make the overall world building much easier.

8) Trigger Warnings!

Does your character or post include some triggering topics? Whether it’s eating disorders, racism, sexism, any type of disorder, puking, smoking, cursing, neglect, abusive behavior, trauma, bullying, or anything, it is thoughtful to add a disclaimer! Think of it like AO3 tags, warning the audience of what’s coming.

You don’t have to follow all these tips, but remember the general etiquette. Making others uncomfortable isn’t going to make your roleplays magically better or any more fun. Boundaries are important in every space <3

Part of me wants to reblog all of my posts to another account, for safekeeping, but reblogging too many posts can also get your account terminated for spam or shadowbanned... there's no winning 😅

To avoid having to edit my theme in the future, I'm going to be removing all my pages, and making a post to replace them (like I have with my navigation post). Posts can be edited without risking losing my account. So before I touch my theme, I will make and post those. I'm totally not delaying it for as long as possible

Stormlight Archive x Pokémon crossover (Part 1)

I picked each character's pokemon team by drawing inspiration from several things: spren, companions, personality, occupation, abilities/powers, story events, and last but not least... vibes.

For the character art I wanted something cohesive both art and size-wise (Tumblr crop feature I hate you), so I went with the colored renders of the Stormlight minis created by Brotherwise Games, (Kaladin and two others didn't have their logos but the rest will).

This is part 1 of 12. All posts of the series are finished, but I'll probably do weekly updates to avoid spamming the general tags too much, so make sure to check the tag #Stormlight x Pokemon for any future updates.

The reasons why I chose these pokemon are under the Readmore. Beware spoilers!

Swablu was the pokemon that best reminded me of Sylphrena. The blue color is similar to hers, and the cloud wings evoke windsprens (yes, I know that she's an honorspren) and the Windrunner order, and Swablu's cute design matched Sylphrena's childish nature better than the regal Altaria or Dragonair. I still included Dragonair because it also matched Kaladin, but I felt Swablu was a better spren representation.

As for Lucario, as well as Absol... those are vibes based, except the vibes are that I believe Kaladin would detest that they reminded people of him... which was why I had to choose them.

Timburr and the wooden beam it's holding I thought worked as a representation of his time in Bridge Four. I went back and forth a lot on whether to choose Timburr or Gurdurr (who is carrying a steal beam above its head). None were a perfect fit, but in the end I went with Timburr because another character will have Conkeldurr in their team, and I wanted to distance them a bit.

Togetic, besides being associated with healing, has wings (easy to associate with Windrunners) and is lanky, which I why I picked it for Kaladin "tall even by Alethi standards" Stormblessed.

Hello Just wanted to hop in to say how much your Burning Spice and Golden Cheese story analysis made me happy and hopeful for some actual discussion within this community. I didn't want to spam in the tags on your posts as I didn't know where to even start with praises.

I'm curious, what do you think of a possibility where Burning Spice's return might mean a potential ally for the Ancients or willing disowning of his soul jam? Perhaps being a voice of reason for Beasts that, at least Golden Cheese, are really really strong? I do agree bringing him back for a 1v1 with Golden Cheese would be an absolutely horrendous idea. Nevertheless I think Burning Spice has been one of the best written characters in the game and I'm excited to see more of him.

I'm rly glad to hear you liked my analysis posts!!! i'm honestly just a sucker for prying the media i like wide open on a writing level so these mostly come naturally to me and the engagement is a rly nice motivator

As for the idea posed... Eeeeeehhh it's. Kind of tricky, honestly. Burning Spice is, at the end of the day, someone addicted to power and destruction. He outright avoids any sort of more rational or emotional thought (mostly shown in him completely shutting down the moment he brings up the first kingdom he ruled and getting pretty damn mad afterwards) and like. I think that honestly so long as he has his power there's very little in the way of reasonable redemption for him. Someone who's this detached from everything as a result of immortality, this high on power, this bloodthirsty, this dependent on his own power to feel anything, is hard to reason with. Specially because he knows what he's doing isn't good, that it's not contributing to anything, that he's not doing the world any good, and outright rejects all those ideas very actively. He knows he's evil, and he holds no remorse over it, even if he does think it's the only way.

Sure he could get his soul jam taken away later but... Frankly, with how this ending went, I really, really don't trust them to do anything like that. They seem to have an adversity towards bumping characters down a notch for their own good. It admittedly makes me really worried for what the future holds regarding Dark Enchantress, but, that's a side tangent.

So yeah basically I think the only real road to redemption for him is having his soul jam removed whether he likes it or not, then having him work from there as a mortal without any god-like powers who eventually finds something to be attached to (Again, whether he likes it or not). There might be some other way, but man I am not creative enough to find it.

Hello and welcome to tsbs shipfessions! Got a ship you want to yap about? Headcanons? AUs? Drabbles? Confessions? Then you've come to the right place!

You can refer to me as Mod Ruin! 21, any pronouns ^_^ I'm currently the only mod on this blog, but there may be more sometime in the future!

Before you send me an ask, I have a few rules I'd like to share with you. Most of them are pretty self-explanatory, but I felt the need to write them down anyways.

nsfw/suggestive content is allowed. It will be tagged as #tw nsfw and labeled as mature for easier filtering.

Asks pertaining to characters that are canonically minors (Jack, Dazzle, etc.) aren't allowed. I don't feel comfortable allowing pedophilic ships on this blog, sorry!

Asks must be related to a tsbs ship in some way. It's literally in the name of the blog! Off topic asks are considered spam and clog up the inbox. The only exception is if the asker has a genuine question/wants clarification about something.

Do not hate on other people's ships! I myself have ships I like and ships I dislike, but all ships are valid here. I'd like to avoid drama and ship wars as much as possible on this blog!

This blog runs on a queue. If I don't get to your ask immediately, there's no need to panic! Depending on how long the queue is, it might take a while for your ask to be posted.

hi thank you so much!!! so i normally use clip paint studio OR ibispaint, however some very very recent stuff has been done in krita as an experiment.

these 2 here were done in krita. i dont know the name of these brushes but i exclusively use these two (screenshotted below).

More Cosmic Exploration/gathering thoughts:

- Reached level 70(+) for Botanist, the timed node quests sucked, but I'm done with them forever (unless I want to level BTN on alt, which might be a possibility far, far in the future at most, crafting/gathering will probably stay on my main).

- Finally used Cordials. What I didn't realise is that they also have a cooldown (logically, like all potions do), so while I already wanted it before, now I definitely 100% want faster GP recovery in Cosmic Exploration. It's just unfun to wait on what is now straight up two cooldowns.

- Another awkward element I noticed was the Mission timer running out while using a node and not even giving you a window to finish it. It lead to some frustrating close losses.

- I actually think the animation lock for gathering (and also Collectibles) might also be an issue. I feel like making the animation alone faster would avoid the frustration of the close calls much better because it would put failure and success further in your hands. This issue can also compound with ping issues and as a result close calls can feel absolutely dreadful because of that lack of control on your part.

- I've had an unreasonable amount of luck with getting in the mech earlier in the day. Very obviously when there are fewer people around, you indeed seem to have a much bigger chance to be chosen.

- The C level Stellar Mission to build gathering chains became kind of a cheese moment for me because it was so easy to get gold on and it was so commonly on the list of missions.

And if not gold, I got at least a silver almost every time I did it (I think I only failed it once) and most of the time I didn't even need any GP to complete it. Got a level in like 10 minutes just spamming it.

So, I kind of got in a rythm of doing some easy golds/silvers between the big gold attempts for missions that were harder and I didn't have a gold medal on yet. I don't know how efficent leveling it was, but it felt rewarding.

- You absolutely don't "need" the golds, but they are also really rewarding to achieve when you do get them.

- In terms of rewards, so far I've gotten the Micro Rover, some dyes and the Parasol.

I got the cheap dyes though, so I suspect I've been missing the new ones.

I generally only use the Big Bang tickets because the difference of odds really does feel pretty big.

I think the junk options like prisms really need to go though and as before, I definitely continue to agree with having more pity options.

(Apparently we do have a deterministic version of the mount, which is locked behind a massive grind at that. I'm all for a few options like this. Gives reason to stay around longer for those who want something to chip away at for bit by bit.)

Or if they really want to keep the wheel, even just halving the ticket price or giving other ways to get the better tickets seems somewhat of a solution.

- Collectibles are an interesting system that took me a bit of time to understand, but I like it for variety between all of the regular gathering.

- Looking at CE in the bigger picture, I really feel like this could be the foundation for future zones in general because one criticism of the game's zones for me has been that there's been barely anything to do in them once they're done in terms of story. I feel like adding similarly urgent goals, bigger variety and more substance to FATEs would automatically give the zones more longevity.

We already have the gemstones for a reward structure, too. Shared FATEs are a start, but they wear on you really bad because they're so basic and similar to each other.

- One big element I didn't mention in my first post was that you can queue and use PF in Cosmic Exploration, so you can effectively work on something while waiting, which also ties to my point of this being essentially a possible prototype for new zones.

Making the overworld elements more substantial would effectively make entire zones something to still actively engage with long after MSQ is done and just give you something to do even while just waiting for a queue to pop or your party to fill. It'd fill the "dead air", if you had the wish to fill it, of course.

- Finally, reiterating that the big FATEs that transform the base should probably have a smaller solo version that triggers when someone who missed a previous step enters the content and plays out in intervals when they missed multiple because not everyone can be there for it.

The "story" has been really minor and I'd say the big FATE is probably my least favourite bit of content in terms of gameplay, but on the other hand, it is also a cool moment to evolve the base you've been working on by putting in that final bit of effort to get it done.

In a general sense, I really have been enjoying Cosmic Exploration and gathering. CE came out at the right time because I've been in the mood for grindy content (and I've also been looking for something to do while waiting for the party to fill in PF or for my queue to pop).

With Occult Crescent also coming out next month, I think I'll have enough of it for quite a bit of time.
