Nadeshiko is PAINFULLY optimistic in a way that even the readers can’t really connect with at this point. We KNOW something happens. 

And maybe she’s thinking more long terms, or maybe she really is just hoping so much that she might just pull through, but you can really see where Sakura gets it from. 

Also I think the translators might have slightly confused the phrasing on the Touya page, since to me it looks like Touya is replying to Fujitaka but it has him phrasing it as if he’s correcting himself. But either way! He’s picking up on The Vibe, and it’s not looking great. 

(Fantastic that we get an outfit detail here too, as if it’s a fun moment - like he’s walking into the room from another genre entirely. He’s still living in the fun CCS lifestyle while everyone else has been in the slow build up to a horror story that they haven’t been able to avoid)

(And how could he have known that he was in that horror story too? They never told him)

i spent 10 minutes scanning ceara's following list on instagram to see if i could spy any potential gawyns, you know, as one does of a sunday, and ngl i did spy a potential gawyn! i cannot emphasize enough the fact that i have 0 actual evidence to support it and that you should not trust me in any way - i'm purely going by Vibes here. (and by the fact that ceara follows him, as does donal but donal was liking posts of his back in like 2019 so i doubt WOT is how they know each other. and by the fact that he has 0 posted or tagged pics between late april-early august 2023 aka when the bulk of s3 was filming. but other than that i have 0 evidence!)

So the reason Tradewinds was shelved and not published like 8 years ago, is because I couldn't find an Aboriginal sensitivity reader willing to read m/m with disturbing themes. I had sensitivity readers for the other side of things (like Matan and his heritage), but I kept either not finding anyone, or the one person I found took my $200 USD deposit and vanished and never spoke to me / responded to any of my emails.

As a result, I was uncomfortable distributing it anywhere broadly, even though I was relatively confident the novel isn't offensive, because I just don't know 100%.

I am a lot more confident releasing it via subscription as an exclusive novel, because the people who pay for subscription are often folks who are a) already used to my style of writing and b) generally know what to expect from me, vs. cold audiences who don't. I'm kind of kicking myself that I didn't realise that Tradewinds would make a great exclusive/paywalled release for subscription, because it means it's only ever going to find a very narrow bandwidth of readers.

Basically if I could release it for single purchase - as basically an ebook - I would have released it like 8 years ago, anon. And the reason I have actually released it this specific way is down to the fact that I'm just not really confident offering it for broader distribution.

That might change one day, if I happen to stumble across a sensitivity reader who is okay with my style of writing, who is reputable + has references (i.e. so I know I won't lose a fair chunk of money in the process, because that burned me pretty badly, not gonna lie). But until then, having Tradewinds be limited is the only way I'm comfortable releasing it at all.

Folks are more than welcome to sign up for one month, download the book (and read any other early access they want) and then leave. They can even just put 'I only wanted one thing and now I have it' in the exit survey so I know what they were there for if they want. Then it's still a single purchase (with some early access extras), and they still access the downloadable file. :)

I think someone should just throw all of the BG3 companions into Dungeon of the Mad Mage. Just take the post-canon generally considered "good" endings and throw em in there.

Why? Because it would be hilarious to me and also that's like the one official module that goes up to level 20.

Narcissa has NEWTs too… not to mention her being Head Girl. What is she doing up here? Regulus pushes James away. He looks thoroughly confused but follows Regulus' lead anyway. What Regulus finds when he looks away is Narcissa Black staring at him with disgust, with Alice Fortescue hiding behind her.

"What are you two doing here?" he asks with an accusatory pointing finger, his hand still entangled with James'.

"I imagine it's so different from what you and Potter were just doing," she replies with an edge of snark. Regulus notices that she's holding Alice's hand the same way he's holding James' and realises the similar predicament they're all in at the moment.

"Don't tell anybody what you saw here," they both say at the same time, and Alice and James descend into laughter, dragging Narcissa and Regulus down with them.
