Q: 19% Describe your first queer kiss.
A: At sleepover with the squad after a tough tournament loss. Our game of ‘Truth or Dare’ was getting pretty wild when my biggest crush (2 YEARS OLDER THAN ME!!!) was dared to go down on me. I remember being really nervous but also really excited as she took me into the bathroom and told me to get on the sink! I ALMOST PASSED OUT when she gave me a playful nip 😵💫 and after that I just started to spill my guts to her only to get stopped by her laughing hysterically at me when I said that I hadn’t even kissed a girl before. She gave me a masterclass that night. When we woke up the next day, she gave me the best “good morning” kiss I’ve ever received.
xx

you said, earlier, that you weren't going to make the same mistakes you did with chara again. is that what those fallen children were to you? is that what *frisk* is to you? a replacement, another shot at redemption?
* No! I-I would never—
* . . . No. They are all my children.
* But I have learned much from each of them, and I know which mistakes to avoid.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

as an aroace person with limited sexual experience, no interest in watching porn, and poor sex ed as a teen, there IS something simultaneously funny and vaguely tragic about being 28 adult years old and realising how extremely tiny your frame of reference is for genitalia and deciding you should expand this to better understand bodies (yours and others). and then you're just there like "okay so what the fuck do I even google right now, anyway"

CDC voice: "I know I said we'd do something about covid if it got very high again, but we have real tough jobs to do, like removing the recommendations that children with head lice or watery diarrhea be sent home to prevent further spread of their illness."

Random goon: Hey boss, were you the one to pick that name as an alias? And why this one?
Red Hood : I used to have another name, before... A long time ago. But that person is dead now. I get to choose for myself now, they can't take that from me. I won't let them.
Goon: Huh.
***
Random Goon: Say boss, why do you never take off your shirt in front of us?
Red Hood: Well uh, I actually have that really fucked scar on my chest and I'm not comfortable with...
Random Goon: Don't worry boss, we get it, you don't have to explain yourself to us.
***
Red Hood, high on some toxin: God, I wish my family...
Random Goon (on boss-sitting duty): why not try reaching out to them?
Red Hood: They would never accept me as I am now... They wouldn't agree with my so-called "life choices". Besides, they don't miss me, they miss the person they think I used to be... I wasn't even a man when I last saw them.
Random Goon: Damn boss, that sucks.
***
And then the goons throw the Red Hood a party on trans visibility day and Jason is so confused he straight up cries.

TAKEAWAYS:
We are in the biggest Covid surge in the US in at least two years
Time to wear a mask in crowded spaces (personally, I'd recommend one in all indoor public spaces and crowded outdoor spaces)
Immunity has waned and the new variant is 'distinctly more challenging to our immune system'
Updated boosters should be available the week of September 1st
The US needs to invest more in nasal vaccine programs, and should have already - this is the thing that could help actually get us out of the woods.
We are continuing to see more folks develop Long Covid even from mild infections
You should just read the article it's not that long but that's the run down
Me Editorializing: Let’s protect and care for ourselves and each other!

I just want to remind people that it’s 2024 and we didn’t “go thru a pandemic” we are “going thru a pandemic” present tense. It is still happening. People are still get sick, still becoming disabled, and still dying. Covid hasn’t gone away and I beg people to not normalize getting sick with it.
