6. self-made by @onewhodiedyoung [Cho/Ginny, T, 3k] 💔🦢 Beautiful post-war story. Ginny grappling with her identity and who she is after everything. Cho knowing and supporting and growing.

7. My Kink Is Karma by @chaos-bear [Lavender/Gilderoy, E, 3k] 🔥🤣 What a pairing!! Hilarious fic with some hot and then awkward smut. But absolutely perfect.

8. thorns, in amber by @thisisdecemberista [Sirius/Lily, established James/Lily, E, 5k] 💔🔥 God, this fic. The infidelity angst mixed with war mixed with their all-consuming love for James. A whirlwind of emotions that had me in a death grip. So so good.

9. Bouquet by sky_watcher_rose [Minerva/Poppy, T, 3k] 🌼💐 So sweet, so lovely! A professors getting together story that melts my heart. I always knew Minerva was a sweetheart beneath that strict exterior.

10. the end of illusions (who could ever be saved) by lovelit [Tom/Percy, E, 3k] 🦁🐍 Percy discovers Tom's diary and things spiral from there. I absolutely adore Percy in this: hardworking, overlooked, and just seeking a friend.

11. Come Slowly, Eden by Paimpont [Voldemort/Molly, M, 3k] 💔🥧 A pairing that at first glace seems incongruous but actually works so well! Molly showing Voldemort kindness, and him showing her family mercy. *chef's kiss*

12. Tom Riddle Sr. by @limetameta [Tom & Tom Sr, T, 4k] 💔🏡 A Tom Riddle Sr. character study in which he raises Tom on his own. Voldemort is so much the same, and so much different. I would read so much more of this universe.

13. Unfinished by @turanga4 [Fat Friar & Harry, T, 1k] 💔🌙 Grief, love, and loss. A lovely, heartfelt look into the aftermath of the BOH and Harry finding comfort in Hogwarts.

14. Through the Sleepless Night by @mugsdontlie [Mundungus & Arabella, T, 2k] 🌼🐈 I love friendship fics and I love their friendship here! Mugs is the master of rare pair dynamics. There's such familiarity between the characters. It feels so real and the perfect backdrop to canon.

15. Sexy Gobs by @emilyrickman [Lighning Era & Professors, T, 650] 🌼📝 Hilarious and so creative. The formatting is insane! But I'm most impressed by creating a cohesive story simply from a couple of post-it notes.

13 and 27 year in review?

Hello helllo!

13: what were your shortest and longest fics posted this year?

I was about to answer that my shortest fics are all triple drabbles, but I checked and I have another fic that's even shorter! It's "demon breath" of 151 words, which I wrote for a little writing game

For the longest, I personally don't really count unfinished (chaptered) fics for this, so that would leave "I could kill you and I should (fuck it, this is love)" as the longest at 5.562 words. I usually write between the 1k and 2k per oneshot fic, but apparently, writing with the mindset of 'this is going to be the crackiest crack fic I've ever seen' unlocked a new power or something haha

27: how many events did you take part in?

I think it's 6? Most of these have been done in the last 3 months

The Swiftli week in March for which I both submitted drawings and fanfics

The day-long drabble royal event for which I wrote 4 drabbles!! (Really proud of that actually)

The DnDoods server bingo. I wrote multiple fics for this!

My attempt at my first NaNoWriMo on pillowfort, for which I didn't even get close to my goal, BUT I did start! So that's something!

The DnDads fairytale AU event, for which I ended up only posting the short comic, which was based on the unfinished first chapter of a fanfic, so I think that still counts as writing haha

And lastly the secret santa event which I'm still working on, but it needs to be finished very very soon, so I count it!

I also want to participate in the DnDads S2 zine event, but I won't be starting on that until after I'm done with secret santa, and the end date for that is somewhere next year anyways

I'm genuinely surprised I participated in this many things. Some were - admittedly - a little stressful, but I'm glad I did them anyways!!

I think I’m gonna not update Ikigai on weekends, actually, unless its for another fandom or something.

That lets me update about 3 times during the week (either Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Monday, Wednesday, Friday, depending on the dates. I like publishing things on odd-number days, with character birthday exceptions)

I mean. The fic is going to be long, but each chapter is 3.5k words at the very least. My recent chapter (Chapter 7 as of this post) was actually 3.7k words.

That’s still at minimum 10.5k words per week. That, on top of the fact I do have a job, other hobbies, interests, working out...it really is a lot of effort. I don’t want to burn myself out writing 3.5k+ words every other day until it’s done. I do need more than 1 small break day.

It’s different spewing out a 1k to 2k word oneshot often, but Ikigai is taking a lot of time and concentration, and I’m putting all of my hard work into it.

And honestly, I think updating 3x a week is still a lot, considering tons of other fics and authors take even longer sometimes (justifiably so).

This will give me plenty of time to finish with it being on Chapter 16 by the time LIPxLIPs birthday rolls around (putting it on a pause for their bday oneshot ofc), and finishing the fic at the very start of March.

I may publish oneshots between it? Whether it be for other fandoms or random bursts of idea for my other hw ships, I don’t know. I can’t say for sure what I’ll be hyperfocused on in the future.

And depending on how things go, I may even be able to start posting the project that Bean and I are working on.

Bee's 8K-inktober Bingo Celebration

Okay, so I’m not quite there (I’m within, like, spitting distance lol), but I’m very nearly at 8000 followers, which is just out of this world insane. When I started this blog 2.5 years ago, I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d end up here with my writing. I have never had this much faith or confidence in myself for anything, so to finally feel like maybe I am alright at something I love like writing just means so much to me, and that’s because of you guys. Your comments and love and support are what got me here and what is keeping me here, so thank you.

If you know me and my blog, you know that Kinktober is definitely a celebration I love to get involved with. This year I’ve decided to couple it with my 8K celebration (Hence why I’m celebrating a little prematurely), and host a game of bingo!

BUT, this game isn’t for writers, in fact, no writing for you guys involved. This was really important to me, because I always host writing challenges, but I want to celebrate my readers, because you guys are the entire reason I’m even here in the first place, so I wanted to create something that anyone can join in with!

HOW TO PLAY

As you can see, above is a 25 square bingo card filled with prompts. You are probably familiar with them! Only, this one has a twist! For this bingo, you will need to read through my masterlist and reblog a fic of mine that includes the square, in order to cross it off. When you reblog, use the hashtag #bees8kinktoberbingo.

But wait… there’s a catch!! (Hold on to your dicks, bitches, this shit is getting cray – please read that with the irony of me really not being cool 🤣) There is one square on every line that I haven’t written! There are five “non-fillable” squares in total. Your job is to find those squares and send in your guesses! The fillable squares will range from easy (multiple fill options) to hard (one fill option).

Any fandom or character on my masterlist is a valid entry, and every square can be filled with either a oneshot or Drabble, so reading mini series or full series isn’t necessary to play, but I will accept chapter reblogs as fills.

Masterlists aren’t necessary, but you may wish to create one to make submitting your board easier. You need to fill a minimum of 4 squares (anywhere on the board, no line needed), before you can submit any guesses. For every correct guess, your username will be entered into the prize draw.
