20th Century Fox logo aka the only thing worth looking at in the otherwise pointlessly chaotic MOULIN ROUGE (2001).

The 1981 20th Century Fox logo had quite a number of variations, but did you ever notice the different searchlights animations in this logo?

Up until I went traipsing around youtube for random logo vids in middle school/early high school, I didn't know just HOW LONG good ol F.H.E. was in business. I had two christmas special tapes back then that were released around the late 80s and another one from the early 90s, so my kid self only saw the yellow 80s variant and the 90s paintbrush one.
Yeah, you can tell this was made on a real low budget like a LOT of vhs company logos in the early 80s. It's sometimes called the soda pop variant and for good reason imo. The big computer generated ball of light makes me think of fizzy pop and the popping bleeps and bloops sound almost exactly like the sound a glass of ginger ale would make immediately after pouring it, only with the audio increased by a lot.

20th Century Fox (1994, HD version)
youtube
I love the look of 1994 20th century fox logo, but it’s fanfare is so overrated.
The 1994 fanfare honestly sounds like I'm in the military rather than an opening to a movie. I mean that fanfare can fit if it was a serious movie like die hard but, not anywhere else. I think that's why 20th re-recorded the fanfare in 1997.

Watched the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer like five times now. No idea if this movie is going to be good but it sure looks fun.
Spoiler-ish thoughts after the jump.
Stoked for the premise of Buddy Cop Mad Max in the Void at the End of Time. It took me a couple watches to realize that was where they are for like half of the scenes in the trailer. But that is definitely where they are for like half of the scenes in the trailer. You can even see Alioth in two shots.
Makes sense given that the T.V.A are such a heavy presence in the marketing up to this point. Have Wade and Logan been pruned? Is that why Wade's world is in danger? The T.V.A. aren't supposed to be doing that anymore. I'm very interested in seeing where the film is going with this.
That the 20th Century Fox logo has been pruned is such a... Never change, Deadpool movies. (Also that Feige cocaine bit. XD)
Only vaguely familiar with Cassandra Nova. I think I've read one arc of X-Men she was in? The wicked sister of Charles Xavier or something like that?
She seems to be in the Void too. So she's probably not what's threatening Wade's world. (Probably the T.V.A.)
Trailer doesn't give away much details but gives a basic idea of what to expect. Like The Marvels, it looks like this is a movie that's going to be carried by the chemistry of its leads more than anything. At least, that's how it's being marketed. The twin "Let's fucking go" recitations gave me chills.
Be interesting to see how this movie does at the box office. Deadpool films have been pretty stable; $782m and $786m respectively.
On the one hand, Logan's presence may provide a crossover bump; Crossover films typically sell like hotcakes in Marvel's market. Though Wolverine's never made the kind of money Deadpool does; Wade is actually the X-franchise's biggest seller. Even Logan, critically acclaimed though it was, never reached the heights of either of Wade's films. But that doesn't change the fact that crossovers sell.
On the other hand, it's been six years since the last Deadpool film so some of the momentum may have been lost; Deadpool and Deadpool 2 only had two years between them.
So it's a toss-up as to how well this film is going to perform.
