hello friends!! as you all know I've hit 500 followers!! this is a huge milestone for me and I am over the moon! I started writing only a few months back and here we are with 500! I love you all so much and I wanted to do something quite special! I've never done one of these before so bare with me if its *ahem* a little crazy! but hey, I do love crazy so!

i wanted to do a writing challenge. it's been on my mind for quite some time but I haven't had the time too but now I do! as you all know, I will be going on a trip next week with a few friends so this writing challenge will be extended! so with that, here are the rules:

There's no word count that you must follow but it is advised that it at least be over 350-450. But that is only a consideration! You write what your heart desires and how much you intend to write is completely up to you.

According to information shared on Russian social networks on January 29, 2024, Russia is expected to start serial production of the S-70 'Okhotnik' (Hunter) strategic bomber later this year in the Novosibirsk region.

Lieutenant Governor Sergei Semka announced that the Novosibirsk Aviation Factory, a subsidiary of Rostec's Sukhoi Company, is preparing to start serial production of the Okhotnik heavy unmanned aerial vehicle in the second half of 2024.

Sukhoi Company has been diligently developing Russia's inaugural heavy attack drone, the S-70 Okhotnik, since 2011. The project reached a milestone with the first experimental prototype flying on August 3, 2019, followed by a subsequent model with a flat jet nozzle, designed to reduce the radar signature, emerging from the Novosibirsk aircraft factory in December 2021.

Series production will focus on the heavy reconnaissance and attack UAV, designated as the S-70 "Okhotnik-B". Several prototypes are currently in the final stages of comprehensive testing, with particular emphasis on optimizing the weapons control system software. Production models are expected to have a narrow section nozzle, aiming to achieve a reduction of 2 to 2.5 times in the infrared signature and a marginal decrease in the effective reflective surface at the back of the UAV.

All S-70 vehicles are programmed to be equipped with terminals for the exchange of tactical information and telecode information through secure radio communication channels of the KDL-I type (0.96 - 1.25 GHz). This technology is designed to allow the operation of UAVs under the control of Su-30SM2 and Su-57 crews. The range of the communication channel is projected between 350 and 450 km, allowing these multifunctional fighter crews to deploy the S-70 as "unmanned wings" without the need for manned vehicles to enter the enemy's anti-access/anti-aircraft (A2/D2) zones and the fighter maneuver zones.

The S-70 Okhotnik, with a 14-meter fuselage and a 19-meter wingspan, is comparable to the MiG-29, has a take-off weight of up to 25 tons, including combat load of up to 3 tons.

Although the composition of the 3-ton combat cargo remains uncertain, the initial studies of the project suggested a wide range of guided aerial weapons, from anti-aircraft missiles to tactical aviation cruise missiles. The aircraft allegedly has internal weapon compartments similar to those of the Su-57 fighter, allowing the use of weapons beyond the visual range, including R-77M air-to-air missiles and Kh-59MK2 air-surface missiles capable of avoiding radar detection. However, at the end of 2020, Russia announced plans to use Okhotnik to launch unguided aerial bombs.

NCIS is celebrating a milestone that not many television shows can brag about! 

On April 15, the hit CBS franchise will air its 1000th episode after more than two decades on air and spawning four spinoffs set in Hawaii, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Sydney. The mothership show aired its first episode in September 2003 and has racked up more than 450 episodes alone, while Los Angeles and New Orleans have contributed 320 and 150, respectively, to the overall total. 

The franchise follow the lives and cases of agents with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and has kept fans around for years thanks to its heart-stopping storylines, incredible guest stars -- including pre-fame Zac Efron and Millie Bobby Brown -- and tender moments between characters. 

On top of a retrospective element, ET's NCISVerse: The First 1000 hosted by Kevin Frazier will look ahead at the two new shows coming to the franchise, NCIS: Origins and an unnamed series starring fan-favorites Cote de Pablo and Weatherly. The former will be an origin story for Harmon's character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, while the latter series will see de Pablo and Weatherly reprise their roles as Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo.

ET first reported on de Pablo and Weatherly returning to the franchise in February when Paramount and CBS revealed the official description for the 10-episode first season, slated to film in Europe this year. 

In December, ET spoke with NCIS: Sydney star Olivia Swann, a newcomer to the series, who said that when it comes to joining such an iconic franchise, she couldn't feel more humbled or grateful by the opportunity. 

"It's such an honor being part of a franchise like this," she said. "It kind of hasn't been until now that we're realizing the magnitude of it, which is mind-blowing. We just have the best time and we're just so grateful to be a part of this this world and this universe."

Similarly, Wilmer Valderrama -- who joined NCIS in its 14th season as Special Agent Nicholas Torres -- told ET in January that while the show's 21st season was shortened to 10 episodes -- primarily due to the 2023 WGA strike -- the fans were in for a treat from start to finish. 

"We're gonna try to make sure that every time an episode ends, you know, something in that episode is gonna carry over and we're gonna try because I think it's time for producers to evolve and the future of content and how it's being consumed. I think CBS does it better, they know their audience super well. So, I'm really proud of what we're doing," he shared.

Hello, everybody, and welcome to part 1 of 2 of this 300 follower Taco Dragon recipe special!

This post will be detailing the process of making one of the components of the dish, which is

Five Spice Mole Sauce!

Without spoiling anything for tomorrow's post, I decided that this called for a mole sauce. After debating on how I wanted to approach it (the other options being to either use a premade mole or a 20 minute quickie recipe), I finally decided to say "fuck it" and go for a mole sauce that actually takes a bunch of preparation and ingredients! Whether that's due to my dedication to the craft, the fact that this is a follower milestone special, or an exercise in masochism is something I'll leave up to you.

Anyways...

Let's start with the following:

Onion

Tomato

Tomatillos

Garlic cloves

Cut all these in half or quarters, place on a foil covered sheet pan coated with oil, and roast at 450°F until browned/charred

You could also broil all of this to go faster and get better results, but I had other things to do, like preparing the dried chiles!

Deseed and break apart 4-5 of each of the following dried chili varieties:

Ancho

Guajillo

Japones

Feel free to use whatever varieties you want/have on hand.

Toast them in a dry pan for five minutes, add 2 cups of water, and let simmer/steep for 10 minutes in order to hydrate and soften.

Allow the roasted veggies and reconstituted chiles to cool to a workable temperature before adding to the jar of a blender. In the meantime, we have a lot (and I mean a lot!) of other ingredients to toast/brown. Don't believe me? Look at the picture below:

For the sake of simplicity and my own sanity, I'll be listing these ingredients in separate chunks.

To start, we toast some spices in a dry Dutch oven over medium heat:

Sesame seeds (3 tbsp)

Ground coriander (½ tsp)

Whole black peppercorns (¼ tsp)

Whole cumin seeds (1 tsp)

Dried oregano (1 tsp)

Dried thyme (1 tsp)

Four whole cloves

Once toasted, these will go into a bowl for storage as we do each subsequent part.

Next, adding oil to the pot at the start each time, we toast/heat the other ingredients in the following groupings:

2 corn tortillas, cut into wide strips

⅓ cup sliced almonds

¼ cup raisins (or craisins, in this case)

10 saltine crackers, 1-2 graham crackers, two star anise pods, one cinnamon stick, and 2-3 slices of licorice root

One slice of bread, torn into pieces

It's worth noting that these ingredients are highly customizable, and you can pretty much go by what you have on hand or otherwise have access to. I'm basing this largely on the Binging With Babish version, but I've taken cues from several other recipes, as well as throwing in the five spice element to make it more appropriately "Taco Dragon."

With everything else prepped, they all go into the jar of a blender, along with a teaspoon of minced ginger, 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, and enough chicken broth to thin everything out and make it blendable. You'll almost certainly need to blend in stages and push things down and around.

After blending (which I forgot to photograph 😖), I poured the whole thing through a fine mesh strainer to catch the tough bits. You may not actually need to do this, and you'll end up with a higher yield if you don't.

Anyways, here's what I got after blending and straining:

Now we simmer it, adding 2 oz. of baking chocolate (ideally you would use Mexican chocolate, but it's what I had) and letting it melt in. Simmer for 15-20 minutes after this, adding 2 tbsp sugar and salt to taste.

This sauce is an interesting beast. You get the heat from the chiles, sweetness from the sugar, a noticeable chocolatey background, and a complex spice profile. I have a feeling it'll really have a chance to shine when paired with actual foods. You could use this for, say, tacos or enchiladas or any number of things. The question is: what will I be using it for?

Styled at Zagato’s Milan headquarters, the iconic Italian design house has evolved the 2011 Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Coupé form and created a new, pure Speedster twin. Sharper, cleaner and highly collectible – thanks to their limited run and significance in Zagato’s history – both are now fully clothed in carbon fiber. The design changes run from the nose, which incorporates a new splitter and front wings, through to the sleeker tail, now with active aero that transforms the cars’ balance but retains the defined Zagato lines whilst at rest. The TWINS can be specified as matching or individual designs, with owners already benefitting from one-to-one time with the car’s designers and engineers to personalize virtually every element.

The superior quality of materials and attention to detail are evident in every facet of the car’s build with R-Reforged’s team leaving no stone unturned in its ambition to create cars truly worthy of marking Zagato’s centenary. R-Reforged is now able to offer a full body ‘visual carbon’ finish as a further option. The 400-hour process requires extensive and careful preparation so as not to disturb the carbon weave, before the subsequent application of a bespoke lacquer providing UV stability prior to tuning both the color and density of the tint to any shade requested. Alternatively, the body paint color can be matched to any sample, whether matt, satin or gloss. Ultimately, each TWIN is truly individual and bespoke for each owner.

Inside are sensory rich materials, including Bridge of Weir’s finest Grade A leather with an almost infinite range of colors, bespoke patterns and textures. Choices to-date include a mottled surface texture, just like that of a pebble, and gloss leather to complement the exterior body finish.

A closer look inside reveals further touches that underline R-Reforged’s forensic approach to the build. These include color matching the horn push button on the steering wheel, the first time in the Vantage’s history that has been done. Other examples include a sleeker, longer windscreen for the Speedster and retooling the entire carpet boot moulding, which required a significant investment, purely because the original material and form did not meet R-Reforged’s stringent standards.

Assembled with pride in Warwick, UK, at R-Reforged’s newly expanded 2,800 square meter facility, each car takes a team of 12 craftspeople 16 weeks to assemble. All cars are extensively stripped, analyzed and thoroughly refreshed before receiving over 500 new components to ensure the finished car is both aesthetically and performance wise pin sharp.

“Revealing these cars marks an incredibly special moment in both Zagato’s long history and in our own, very short journey of just three years,” says R-Universe’s CEO Thomas Mayer. “We have brought together an incredible team of engineers and craftspeople to develop and produce these beautiful, exquisitely detailed cars that amplify the design, craftsmanship, performance and ownership experience of the original.”  

Underlining that ownership is about more than just buying the cars: owners will also receive a series of incredibly special tailored gifts that starts with a TWINS carbon fiber presentation case, cataloguing specification details using scale models and samples. Customers will continue to receive a stream of themed gifts, invitations and experiences throughout their ownership.

Ensuring the cars’ performance matches the build quality and finish, the prototype cars will be used to determine final geometry, damper settings and spring settings at Spain’s IDIADA test facility early in 2021. Before then, these TWINS, which are ultimately destined to reside in Zagato’s private collection, will be on display at flagship dealership Aston Martin St. Gallen in Switzerland until early in the New Year before embarking on a global tour including the US and Europe.

I know it might not seem like that big a deal but wow, I’m so close to reaching 500 followers now that it’s insane! Also, before I say anything else I’d like to apologize since I meant to do a chibi drawing giveaway when I reached 450 followers, but I lost track of that post and a lot was going on around that time. I still want to do something to celebrate once I reach the 500 mark, I’m just not sure what yet. That said, I’d like to thank all of you for your support and I’m really grateful that I have so many fans that I hope always look forward to seeing my content.
