Tips to keep a balanced diet

simply just eating more fruits and veggies. Getting in your 5 a Day or eating at least 5 portions of fruits and veggies a day is recommended. This can include frozen, fresh, juice, canned, or even dried. Typically an adult portion of fruits and veggies is around 80 grams. Many people can find it difficult to fit fruits and veggies into their meals but by finding new recipes that incorporate these you might even find a new favorite. Starting your day with a serving or two of fruit and a veggie with your breakfast, for example, this could be adding a side of berries to your meal or adding spinach to your eggs and repeating that with your other meals. There are a variety of ways to incorporate your fruits and veggies into your diet you just have to figure out what works best for you.

Ever tried convincing a little one to eat their five a day? It's a battlefield of negotiations.
First, there's the kindness approach: "Sweetie, veggies are like little superheroes for your tummy!" 🥦 Result: Blank stare.
Then, the reasoning stage: "See, carrots make you see in the dark like a superhero!" 🕶️ Response: Mommy, superheroes are not real. (Yes, this is the time when he has to start to question what’s real and what not…. 🙈🤷‍♀️
When all else fails, there's the force strategy: "Open wide, here comes the airplane!" ✈️ Outcome: 1 extra hour cleaning for you….
Bedtime negotiations are a whole other saga. ⏰
Started giving 5-min warnings an hour before, thinking I'd outsmart the the little beast’s bedtime resistance. Spoiler alert: They still win. Every. Single. Time. 😴 #ToddlerNegotiations #MomLife
And don't get me started on asking them to bring something. 🤷‍♀️ "Can you bring your shoes, sweetheart?" Cue 100 reasons why it's impossible right now – too busy, too important, maybe later. 🙈 #ToddlerExcuses

Wellness Rituals
ICYMI 🗣 Self-care is ✨MAGIC✨ So! I have some daily wellness rituals I try to focus on.
One of them is having a minimum of 5 servings of fruits and/or vegetables a day. One way I do this is by making "trays" for lunch and breakfast. Like the tradition of a bento box 🍱 I fill my tray with half f/v's and then whole grains and or proteins.
The other daily wellness ritual I strive to complete each day is 9 hydrating liquids a day. My morning is usually 2 cups of water mixed with one cup of juice and a half serving of chia seeds 1 1/2 tbs). And then a large cup of tea. That's half my liquids! 🫖💧🧃
My AM tray is usually a grain and fruit & the drinks. Lunch is usually some combo of yogurt, granola, cheese, nuts, rice cakes, veggie snacks, and fruit. 🥜🥗🥕🍅🍇🍎🍊🍌🧀🥖🍽
I plan to take pretty pictures of my meals and post them regularly for accountability's sake ���️

My #flexitarian lifestyle means I eat a lot of veg, fruit, nuts/seeds/healthy fats. I limit dairy (kefir and Greek yogurt) and meat (mainly chicken) plus fish. I haven't posted any of my own food for a while but today I felt like being a bit extra :)

Today I made some banana breakfast muffins with 1 banana, 2 eggs, and a couple spoons of oats. Then, I sprinkled over some flax seeds, flakes almonds, and pumpkin seeds. For some, I added dark chocolate or blueberries for a little more decadence. Of course, I had to have some peanut butter to perfectly complement the banana.
I personally feel that it turned out really well.
