how tall do you think Sun+Moon is?? :0c They look pretty tall but idk plus ur the like the only Sun+Moon CEO I follow who I can ask. I need this for science 📝📝📝
You have no idea what being labelled the "Sun/Moon CEO" has done to me, Anon. My Ego is Huge.
Personally, I think they're around 7-8 feet tall? Maybe somewhere in-between. Maybe a solid 7.5 ft in height, if you wanted an approximate headcanon.
But that's only if they're standing upright, which neither of them tend to do often (Sun likes to hunch over to try and appear smaller/so the kids can see him easier, and Moon likes to crouch because he's a Gremlin).

Creamy Beet Pasta Sauce with Thyme
Tumblr media
[image ID in ALT] This recipe just popped into my head a couple of years ago, and it turned out just as good as I imagined it would! You don't have to stick with the amounts listed, it's not a finicky recipe and is easy to adjust to your preferences. I've put a really detailed version under the cut to save your dash. But here's a link to it if you prefer (and a link to the simplified instructions, though I suggest you read the detailed ones at least once since I added a lot of tips). As always, both imperial and metric measurements are included. You do need a blender for this, but it doesn't have to be one of those super fancy, expensive ones. I know the photo isn't very good, but this is my first attempt at photographing food, and I was getting really hungry and just wanted to eat, lol! Though it shows just how vibrant the color of the pasta sauce is, which was the point.
Creamy Beet Pasta Sauce with Thyme The recipe yields about 3 cups/750 mL of pasta sauce.
2 cups/500 mL chopped cooked beets (about three medium beets) (directions below – you can cook them ahead of time or use precooked ones, in which case see the note below about reheating it)
1 cup/250 mL raw cashews, soaked and rinsed (directions below)
about 1 teaspoon/5 mL minced or crushed garlic – or 2 to 4 cloves of garlic depending on their size and how garlicy you want it (keep in mind that as the directions are written the garlic is raw)
about 1 tablespoon/15 mL fresh thyme (see note at the end)
2 teaspoons/10 mL apple cider vinegar (see note at the end)
1 to 1 ½ teaspoons/5 to 7.5 mL sea salt or Herbamare
½ to 1 ½ teaspoons/2.5 to 7.5 mL fresh ground black pepper
about 1 ¼ cups/210 mL water
pasta – I generally go with penne for this sauce but this is your meal so follow your heart!
A) Rinse the thyme stems in cool water and place them on a kitchen towel to dry. You can fold the towel over the stems and gently pat down to speed up the drying process, thyme is pretty sturdy so you won’t wilt it.
B) Prepare the cashews. There are two ways to soak them, it doesn’t matter which you choose. 1) Slow method: Place the cashews in a bowl or container with a lot of room, cover them with 2 cups/500 mL water. Let them soak for 10 to 12 hours. They’ve soaked long enough when you can easily break them with your fingers. Fast method: Place the cashews in a pot and cover with at least 2 cups/500 mL of water. Cook on a low boil for 20 minutes. (If you use this method, pick a pot big enough to cook your pasta in, then you only have one pot to wash!) 2) Drain and rinse the cashews a few times with fresh water.
C) Cook the beets. You can use whatever method you’d like, but I recommend roasting them because it’s easy and retains most of the nutrients. Plus, I haven’t found a faster way to peel them. Though this method seems to work best with fresh beets that still have the greens attached. 1) Preheat your oven to 400℉/200℃. 2) Cut the greens off the beets and rinse off any dirt. 3) Wrap each beet in aluminum foil and place on a baking tray or pan. 4) Bake for 45 to 90 minutes, until a fork can easily be stuck into them all the way to the center. 5) Let them cool long enough to handle, about 10 to 20 minutes, then cut off the ends. 6) Under running cold water push the beet skins off. They should come off really easily without much force or pressure. 7) Chop the beets into smallish cubes – about ¼ inch/0.5 cm – for easier blending.
D) As the beets are cooking (and the cashews if you choose the fast soaking method), destem the thyme until you have around 1 tablespoon/15 mL of thyme leaves.
E) Start cooking your pasta. Of course the timing of this depends on your pasta of choice and how long it takes. But if multitasking is too stressful, cook the pasta once you’re done with the sauce.
F) Throw everything (except maybe the thyme – see #2) in the blender and blend until creamy. 1) Use the smaller amounts of the garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and water at first. That way you can adjust it to your taste as you go. 2) You might not want to blend the thyme in. If you want stronger thyme flavor, a fully creamy sauce, and a deeper, less vibrant magenta color than blend it in. But if you’d like a lighter thyme flavor, are fine with the texture of the leaves, and want a bright magenta sauce, add the thyme after you’re done blending it. (For reference, the photo shown has the thyme blended in.) 3) Blend until everything is nice and creamy and the seasonings and thickness are adjusted to your preference. You’ll have to stop the blender and scrape down the sides every now and then. 4) That’s it, your sauce is done! Now just plate it up with your pasta of choice! You can sprinkle some of the thyme on top to make it look extra pretty!
This keeps well in the fridge for several days, at least up to four. When you reheat it, make sure you don’t cook it. Just get it warmed up enough to keep it from making your pasta too cold. I find it warms up really well in the microwave, but I’m sure the stovetop works well too. I have no idea if this freezes well or not, because I always eat it up too fast to try, lol!
Note about Thyme: Normally I’m a dried herb person but this recipe just wouldn’t be the same with dried thyme. So do yourself a favor and buy the fresh this time (lol). If you don’t know what to do with the rest of it, just tie the stems up with a bit of string or thread and hang it somewhere out of direct sunlight and let it dry. It should be dry in a few days to a week. You can easily take it off the stem by running your fingers down it, against the direction the leaves grow. Now you can put it in a jar and you have no wasted thyme! Note about Apple Cider Vinegar: You might be tempted to skip this, but please don’t! When you are using plants to replicate the creaminess of dairy, you need to add a bit of acid since dairy is acidic. You can replace it with other acids but your results may vary. Lemon juice is a poor substitute here in my opinion, and you need to use more of it. You could use balsamic vinegar, but you probably need more of that too, since it’s not quite as tangy as apple cider vinegar. The point isn’t to taste the vinegar, but to add that bit of acidity it really needs to shine.

───────────────── ●◉◎◈◎◉● ─────────────────
Tonight’s the big night. And you already screwed it up.
You pace back and forth frantically in front of your wardrobe, chewing on your fingernails.
You shouldn’t have kissed Silco before your first date. You’re going to scare him off with how eager— no, with how desperate you were. Everybody knows you don’t kiss until the third date. Or at least, that was what a little girl at Janna’s Hearth had told you. At the ripe old age of nine years, she had spoken with a confident, matter-of-fact tone that conveyed all the wisdom of her life experience. You had listened to her carefully with wide eyes; at that age, it’s important to show children that adults will respect what they have to say and take them seriously.
Maybe you should have paid closer attention to her.
It’s a ridiculous Topside expectation for you to wear a different dress to every single social gathering, as if it were a war crime to wear the same outfit to different parties. Why did Pilties care so much about something so inconsequential? It shouldn’t be such a big deal as long as the dress is clean. Most Zaunites wouldn’t have the money or patience to buy an excessive amount of formalwear, much less keep it in good condition.
You’re grateful right now, though, looking at six of your dresses laid out on your bed. That’s more than enough to choose from. But it also means more time to waste as you put one on, scrutinize yourself in the mirror, take it off, put it back on again, then start all over with a different one. Which do you look best in? What would Silco like?
You look at your clock. Shit, you’re running out of time. He’ll be here soon, and he’s never late. If you pick something now you’ll have just enough time left to do your hair and makeup.
Just as you’re finishing up, someone knocks on your door.
A few deep breaths help calm your rattling nerves. Also, maybe making him wait a little will help you seem more composed, if only to compensate for your earlier overzealousness.
You open the door slowly. Only to be greeted by a breathtaking sight.
The first thing you notice is that Silco has tied his hair back. His brilliant eyes are on full display, as well as a hesitant smile playing around his lips. The setting sun casts shadows on his face that emphasize the sharpness of his high cheekbones now that they’re no longer obscured.
His lithe form is emphasized all over by his outfit, carved and sharp long lines emphasizing his handsome features. A long, smoke black overcoat reaches just above his knees; its inner lining a deep, rich maroon as revealed by the large collar circling his neck. His svelte waist is encased in a close-fitting double-breasted vest, medium gray with a burgundy tint. The vest's wide collar is a darker black that emphasizes the broadness of his shoulders. His formal vermillion shirt and an eggshell white tie complement the vest. His pants and boots are the same deep obsidian as his coat. The coat and vest have matching golden edges, intricately stitched and shining in the last light of the sunset.
All in all, this is the classiest outfit you’ve ever seen him wear.
It’s so different from his more casual tank tops or long-sleeved shirts, but he’s so handsome that you could definitely get used to this look. His clothing could fool the untrained eye into thinking he's wearing Topside attire, but there are mismatched stitches here and there on the seams of his pants, a sure sign that the clothing was repaired in the Undercity and not Topside. Still, Silco is more handsome than any Piltie gentlemen you've ever seen, despite the exorbitant cost of their expensive tuxedos.
Silco shuffles his feet. He opens his mouth to greet you, but a hitch catches in his voice as he stutters. He tries to cover it up by clearing his throat to say, “Hello.”
“Hi,” you smile shyly at him. “You look very dashing.”
“Thank you. I can only hope to imitate the beauty that you depict in so many of your artworks.”
“Yeah, about that. Do you wanna know a secret?” you grin mischievously at Silco.
“Do tell,” his smile settles into an intrigued smirk.
“It’s all in the collars,” you tease, lightly pulling on his coat. “Everybody knows that bigger is better.”
“I did aspire to outshine the average gentleman in that department,” he smirks. He strands straighter, seemingly even taller than usual with how your eyes are dragged up and down his body. You only just now notice the picnic basket he has hooked over one elbow. “But no one could compare with how beautiful you look tonight.”
You blush. Agonizing over your preparations was worth it just to hear that. The dress you’ve opted for tonight is a light lilac wisp of a thing, off the shoulder with short sleeves. The boned corset of the dress cinches almost skintight around your waist. From there, the dress rests close to your body, the night breeze playing with the hemline ending just above your ankles. Your heeled boots are a slightly darker shade of purple, with a tasteful silver thread filigree in the shape of a large bird, wings open midflight.
“Thanks,” you try to say with a nonchalant tone. But as with every compliment and smile he sends your way, it sends a little thrill through your heart that curls inside you like a cat in a sunbeam.
Silco offers you his free arm. You hook your hand around it, enjoying the feel of the soft coat under your hand. When you rub his sleeve, he pulls his elbow close against his body, as if he could feel your touch through the fabric. He sets a leisurely pace that you match, heading towards Piltover.
Your throat is dry. Oh gods— You’ve held plenty of conversations with Silco before— what do you talk about now? How do you talk? The panic makes your tongue heavy in your mouth—
“I hope it’s alright that we’re headed to Topside,” Silco’s voice cuts through the night. He’s trying to sound casual, but his throat bobs as he swallows apprehensively.
“Of course, Silco,” you squeak out. “I’ll go anywhere with you.” (Shit, are you coming on too hard? You shouldn’t have said that.)
“I’ve made us dinner as well,” if he was nervous before, it finally cracks through as his voice trembles. He swallows again before continuing, “It might not compare to your cooking or Kharon’s—”
“Silco,” you interrupt him, letting go of his elbow to instead reach for his hand. You pull at his wrist, and he hesitantly entwines his fingers with yours. “It’s okay. I'm looking forward to it.”
He seems to be missing his usual confidence and self-assuredness, his eyes darting around as if he might find it discarded on the street. If there’s a chance that he’s as on edge as you are tonight, it actually reassures you a little, funnily enough. Even first-date nerves can't keep you from enjoying the comfortable, warm glow that always envelopes you whenever you’re in your friend's presence.
Your conversation falls into an easy rhythm as the pair of you head towards whatever destination Silco leads you to. The evening crowd trickles into the streets, on their way to their nighttime affairs. When he grips your hand tight, it’s not out of a protective instinct but a soothing one. Whether it’s for you or himself, you’re not sure, but you’re happy to be so close to him either way.
Silco points at the end of a large street, its gray cobblestone giving way to looser, dark gravel.
“We’re almost there,” he says. Most other people seem to be leaving the area, deterred by a bright yellow barricade and a sign declaring in bold, black letters: CLOSED FOR REPAIRS. After surreptitiously glancing around to check that no one is looking, he lifts the barrier high enough for you to duck underneath it. You giggle as you do so, exhilarated.
“Have you ever been here before?” Silco whispers. He glances up at the windows of nearby buildings, looking out for observers. The walkway slants downward into a slope, wild stones smoothing out under your feet.
“I don’t think so? Where are we?” Even if it weren’t getting dark, this area of Piltover is unfamiliar. The sound of waves creeps up on you, and your boots begin to sink slightly into sand.
Silco comes to a halt, turning with a flourish.
“May I present one of Topside’s best kept secrets: Midtown Cove,” he states grandly. With a sweep of his arm, he presents a small, cozy beach. The white sand is smooth, disturbed only by errant footprints. Moonlight casts a soft glow, illuminating a dappled stripe on the water. The faraway horizon is dotted with dark islands and distant boats.
Piltover is a beautiful place, but this beach has a wild allure all on its own, almost divorced entirely from the highly engineered and carved out gold and marble aesthetic of the city. No, the landscape here is untouched and untamed.
In that sense, it’s very much like Silco himself.
“This place is beautiful,” you say happily. It’s a lovely sight, straight out of a postcard or one of your own landscape paintings. You turn to him with a delighted grin on your face. “I love it.”
Silco looks relieved to hear you say that. “It’s probably one of the only places in Topside I like to frequent. Not many Topsiders seem to make their way here, so I had hoped this place would be new to you as well.”
“We got lucky that the beach is under repairs,” you then frown in thought. “How do you fix a beach anyways?”
“I placed the barricade there myself,” Silco laughs. He sets the picnic basket down, pulling out a large blanket. You walk forward to help him spread it, but he shoos you away with a wave of his hand. “Just to ensure our complete privacy.”
“I always knew you were a bad boy,” you tease him. “Insurrection, burglary, breaking and entering, and now trespassing? I’m surprised there aren’t wanted posters of you everywhere.”
“What can I say? I’m a man of many talents,” he laughs. When he gestures for you to take a seat, you do so carefully, stretching your legs out and keeping your knees close together.
“Seriously though… thank you,” you smile. It’s been a long time since someone made so much effort to take you out on such a nice date. The anticipation that was building up all day has now turned into a contented gratitude. You couldn’t have asked for a better companion tonight.
“Don’t thank me yet,” he replies with a grimace. He carefully pulls out plates and a thermos from his basket. “I’m sorry I only made sandwiches— I should have ordered takeout from Jericho’s—”
“Stop that,” you scold him gently. You grab a plate and hold it out. “Thank you so much for dinner, Silco. I can’t wait!”
Silco can’t help but smile when he sees how eager you are. He places a wrapped sandwich on your plate before grabbing one for himself, watching you anxiously as you unwrap it.
When you bite down on it, a symphony of flavors bursts in your mouth. Rich, peppered meats, sweet and juicy tomato slices, and a smooth cheese all complement each other in perfect harmony, with a beautifully crusty bread to top it all off. You hum in appreciation.
“This is so good!” you say around a mouthful of sandwich. You swallow hastily. Crap, that wasn’t very ladylike. Even if Zaunites aren’t as concerned with table manners as Topsiders are, you’re still on a date. (Tonight’s goal is to impress him, not scare him off.) “You made these yourself?? This is restaurant quality!”
With a grin, he bites into his own dinner. “Thank you. I had consulted with Kharon on how to pair the ingredients.”
“Really?” you chuckle. “I’m glad she’s warming up to you.”
“I’m not quite sure about that,” he frowns. “It’s difficult to discern what she’s thinking.”
“But she helped you, right? She wouldn’t have bothered at all if she didn’t like you,” you point out.
“Well, when I mentioned that I intended to court you, she may have… expressed her concerns.”
(Uh-oh.) “What did she do??”
“Nothing.”
“Silco…” your annoyed expression at him is somewhat ruined by the fact that your cheeks are full of sandwich.
“She may have… raised her voice at me. Not with words.”
You swallow and sigh. “Sorry about that. Kharon can get pretty overprotective.”
He shakes his head. “There’s no need to apologize on her behalf. I understand where she’s coming from. The desire to protect someone dear to you is perfectly natural... It’s the same way I feel about you.”
You blush and look away. You busy yourself with finishing off the sandwich and brushing crumbs off of your hands.
Silco holds out a napkin for you to use. When you take it from him, you glance at him sideways. There is nothing but care and affection in his gaze.
Soon after, Silco is done eating as well. He hands you the thermos and you drink from it. When you pass it back to him, you’re seized by the impulse to scoot closer to him. As you do so, he automatically raises an arm to drape it around you, his hand coming to rest gently on your shoulder. You let yourself lean into him, his coat rubbing up against your cheek.
Silco is solid and warm next to you. His fingers skim over your skin, playing with the fabric of your sleeve. The smell of his new cologne lingers in the air, a fresh and woodsy aroma that’s not too heavy but still stands out against the saltwater scent of the sea.
The two of you bask in a quiet moment, watching the waves lap at the shore. The moonlight caresses the water, bright coins bobbing and shifting over the surface.
“You were right,” you murmur quietly. “The water really is peaceful.”
Silco hums in amusement. “That’s not quite what I had in mind… would you like to see?”
You nod, curious about his meaning. When he stands up, you feel the loss of his presence keenly. It’s soon overcome by a growing alarm when he takes off his coat and unhooks his vest.
“What are you doing?!” you squeak out, clapping your hands over your eyes. You can’t help but peek between the gaps in your fingers to watch him unbutton his shirt and pull off his tie. Although you’ve fantasized about his body before, you’re wholly unprepared for him actually stripping in front of you. You clamp your eyes shut when he starts pulling down his pants.
“Come swim with me,” Silco says. You can sense him stepping closer to you, gently taking your wrists to pull you to your feet. Your eyes stay closed, though.
“Why don’t you go ahead? I’ll watch the basket,” you squinch your eyes shut tighter.
He slides his hands up your arms to hold the back of your elbows. The blush on your face travels downwards, your chest heating up like a furnace. Before you can turn away, Silco presses his lips against your forehead, softly and sweetly, whispering your name. When you crack open your eyes, he’s staring deep into you, focused and intense. You couldn’t turn away even if you wanted to.
You swallow and whisper, “Okay.”
Your breath hitches when Silco walks away to stand behind you. He slowly ghosts his fingers over the tops of your shoulders. You shiver, hoping he can’t feel the goosebumps forming everywhere he touches you.
His hands drag across your back until he finds what he’s looking for. The zipper on your dress is pulled down, slowly and deliberately. The dress falls open enough for him to place his palms on your back. Warmth blooms wherever his hands make contact: his thumbs gently stroking either side of your spine, then moving to glide over your ribs.
Your blood burns with agitation. The rough calluses on his fingers graze against your skin as he traces every inch of you, igniting fireworks in your veins.
Finally, his hands reach down to your hips and he pushes the dress off you. It falls to the ground and pools around your feet. You hold onto him for balance when you pull off your boots, leaving you only in a strapless bra and panties.
He walks in front of you to take your hands as you step onto the beach. You shyly drop your gaze to the ground, watching the cool and grainy sand sink as you step with your bare feet.
You’ve never been seen or touched like this before; it's nerve-wracking but exciting. You can feel his eyes unabashedly enjoying the sight of you in just your underwear. But you’re not afraid— except for maybe one thing.
(Is now a good time to tell him? But it might kill the mood—)
Silco starts walking backwards into the water, still pulling you along. As your toes touch the waves, the cold startles you, a deep cut to your bones. You flinch and stop walking.
“Sorry, it’s cold,” you apologize. You draw your foot back, digging your heels into the sand.
Silco’s grip on your hands tightens infinitesimally. A mischievous grin plays around his lips, a bright gleam shining in his eyes—
You realize his intentions too late.
The world turns into a blur. Wind whistles through your hair as you’re swept off your feet. You're weightless, flying through the air then crashing into the water. You shriek instinctively. He must have scooped you up and thrown you so rapidly that you barely saw or felt him move.
Your eyes close instinctively as you sink. The water is a crashing, freezing shock to your system, vision filling with white foam. Silco’s feet kick out as he spreads his arms to keep himself floating.
The cold embraces you, a soft ethereal blanket wrapping around you. Bubbles and roiling waves obscuring your vision. A part of you recognizes the truth of what Silco says: there is peace in water, but not when you’re disoriented and fighting the impulse to breathe.
Silco takes hold of your flailing arms. With a gentle grip on your elbows, he pulls you above the surface, laughing while you gasp for air.
“You’re okay,” he says. “I’ve got you.”
His hands drop to your waist. He pulls you close as you rest your hands on his shoulders, both your legs kicking freely.
You headbutt him, not hard enough to hurt, but enough to show your annoyance as you purse your lips at him.
“Dummy,” you scowl. “I could’ve drowned.”
“I would never let that happen,” he vows. “Besides, when getting accustomed to cold waters, I’ve found the best approach is to dive in without hesitation.”
He rests his forehead against yours. Touching noses with you.
His eyes are half-lidded. Even when you’re blinking water out of your eyes, his gaze bores deep into yours. Your lips part and you exhale softly on him.
(He’s not really talking about the water, is he?)
You push your hair out of your eyes. Glancing down at his lips. Raising one hand to touch his face. As your thumb brushes his lower lip, his mouth falls open slightly.
The world stills around you.
There’s only the water, and Silco.
Waiting for you to dive in.
(Then what are you waiting for?)
You lean closer. Enough to smell the salt of the ocean coming off his skin. Tracing the trail of a single drop of water meandering down his cheekbones and falling off his chin.
Finally, you kiss him.
Silco reciprocates eagerly. Mouth wet from both the water and his fervor. Lips tasting as much of you as possible. His arms tighten around your waist at the same time you wrap yours around his neck.
His kisses push deeper into your mouth, and you open wider to make room for his tongue. You gasp as a hot thrill flares inside you. Not just inside your mouth, but between your legs as well.
He pulls you flush against him. The hardness of his cock rubs up against you, barely separated by the thin layer of your and his underwear. You whine into his mouth.
Silco breaks off to press his forehead into yours. The night is dark, but a fire burns in his eyes.
“Can I take you home?” he whispers, voice low and husky.
Such a small question, made up of only five words. There’s only one answer to give:
“Yes.”

Danny Phantom a Glitch in Time Spoiler Free First Impressions Review
I'm in the hospital right now, so I won't be able to really sink my teeth into any analysis yet so bear with me on that front. But oh my god what a way to continue the series after 16 years of being cancelled!
I can definitely tell that this was made by and for fans of the show, and they had fun doing it too! Is it a groundbreaking mindblowing story? No, but I don't think Danny Phantom needs to be either of those things. It's a fun campy teen superhero drama comedy. There are some darker elements to it, but at the end of the day it's a lighthearted romp and I think it's important to keep that in mind!
That being said I think this is a great start to hopefully a series of these graphic novels. Danny Phantom has always took inspiration from comics like Spider-Man, so I think it's only fitting that these characters work so well in this medium. I also think it's a great way to make the series more accessable seeing as the original show does has its problems with flashing lights and overstimulation. The comic medium takes away those problems and gives the characters some room to breathe.
Speaking of characters, it's like they're taken right from the show and put into the page! I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see these characters actually be in character instead of what the fandom thinks their character is. Of course I loved seeing Dan again, or I guess he's Phantom now officially? I always wanted to see his return ever since I was 12 watching the show for the first time, but he never showed up! Well, now my 12 year old self can rest easy knowing he has such a great return to the series.
The art is just amazing as well. I love that the designs are updated but still stay true to Steven Silver's original work. Everyone feels more expressive and emotional, and the poses feel more fluid and dynamic. I think one limitation of the show's art style is how stiff and firm the characters felt.
Without getting too much into spoiler territory, I really appreciate how this decided to address Phantom Planet. Like it or not, it (and Season 3 as a whole) are still part of the series. It happened and we just have to accept that. Or maybe we don't anymore thanks to the ending! In any case, I think it was a smart way to handle the giant disasteroid elephant in the room so we can move on.
It was a bit of a quick read, but keep in mind this is intended for kids, and I'm an adult with an adult reading level. And that's perfectly fine! I'd rather have an action comic be snappy and have more punch than it overstay its welcome with a 900 page in depth character study of everyone's childhood trauma. It does a good job of being what it is, and I can't wait to see where the series goes next!
Also there was a cowboy part. Y'all know I love my cowboys. As soon as I get discharged and back home I'm gonna draw the gang in their western outfits. Except a little more historically accurate. Seriously, where 👏 were 👏 the 👏 suspenders 👏
Overall I give it a solid 7.5/10 based on my first read!

Dalle-2 D&D Guide: Goblins - Part 3 of 3
Finally we'll be going over weapons and then out-painting a portrait to create a full character picture.
7. Weapons
Weapons are fairly straight forward. Mostly you just can't put guns in dall-e. We'll cover the following:
7.1 Sword
7.2 Knives
7.3 Sword and Shield
7.4 Long Bow
7.5 Compound Bow
7.6 Spear
7.7 Axe
You should know that most AI has trouble putting things in hands. Expect to use multiple generations and edits to get the right look.
7.1 ---- Sword
prompt: A goblin knight, holding a sword, medium shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Dall-e likes tryin to fit everything in the frame of the picture so it sometimes shortens swords. Here it shortens the sword to a knife in #1. Also dall-e is not always so certain anout which direction the sword should be, hence #3.
7.2 ---- Knives
prompt: A goblin rogue holding knives, medium shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Likewise, dall-e is not very good with size and knives will sometimes come out very large. Note that "dagger" basically doesn't work.
7.3 ---- Sword and Shield
prompt: A goblin knight with a shield, holding a sword, medium shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Asking for a sword with a shield will sometimes not work. One of them will sometimes overpower the other. I suggest making one and then inediting the other.
7.4 ---- Long Bow
prompt: A goblin holding a long bow, wearing an animal hide vest, medium shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Dall-e does not really like giving goblins bows. Understandable. I wouldn't want to give them bows either. Maybe let's try compound bows.
7.5 ---- Compound Bow
prompt: A goblin holding a compound bow, #goblin, #bowandarrow, medium shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Whoops these are elves. I even added #goblin and it still didn't want to make them goblins. They all have green arms though. You can use this when you're outpainting form a portrait shot of a goblin.
7.6 ---- Spear
prompt: A goblin paladin in armor holding a spear, medium shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Dall-e is not good with spears. The spear in #4 makes sense but otherwise none of them look too good. Good thing spears aren't too popular in d&d. Maybe that's why there weren't too many in the database?
7.7 ---- Axe
prompt: A goblin warrior holding an axe, #goblin, medium shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Axes sometimes come out very small. Adding in a military job will help make them bigger. Still #2 is a little small.
This is a small sampling of all the weapons you can make. Remember to use hashtags to reinforce your monster when a weapon or outfit overpowers it.
8. Putting it all together
Now we can finally make a full fledged goblin. Let's make a goblin rogue holding knives and holding a compound bow.
Let's start with:
Prompt: A goblin wearing a bandana, portrait shot, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
Now we're going to outpaint. and from here we're simply going to use the prompt: A goblin wearing, by Michael Whelan, fantasy, digital art, highly detailed, trending on artstation
Tumblr media
We can edit the hands to put a knife in it and then expand out to finally get this:
Tumblr media
And so we are finally finished! After struggling long and hard we have created our goblin character. The lessons learned here can be applied to all the other races. I'll be doing tieflings in the next post followed by animal-human hybrids.
Disclaimer:
my personal beliefs are that AI art should be used only for enjoyment and not for profit. Please support art and artists and furthermore write to your senators about protecting the arts through subsidies, tax breaks for working artists and for laws that protect the jobs of artists. It will not be so easy to change the pose of your characters through dall-e. Consider paying an artist for a commission of that character.

You can get gold bullion in many different weights and sizes?
Introduction
When you think of USA gold coins, what comes to mind? Perhaps a bar of gold that is used as an investment? Or maybe a piece of jewelry? Whatever it is, you might be surprised to learn that gold bullion comes in many different weights and sizes. In this blog post, we will explore the different weights and sizes of gold bullion so that you can better understand this popular investment. From 1 gram all the way up to 1 kilogram, we will cover the most common weights and sizes of gold bullion. We will also touch on some of the less common weights and sizes so that you can have a well-rounded understanding of this topic.
Tumblr media
The Different Weights and Sizes of Gold Bullion
Gold bullion comes in many different weights and sizes. The most popular weights are 1 oz, 10 oz, and 100 oz. The most popular size is the 1 oz gold bar. The 10 oz and 100 oz bars are also popular, but they are not as widely available as the 1 oz bars. The other popular weights of gold bullion are the 2.5 oz, 5 oz, and 7.5 oz bars. These bars are not as widely available as the 1oz and 10oz bars, but they are still popular among investors. The 2.5 oz, 5 oz, and 7.5 oz bars are also available in a variety of sizes, including the mini bar (1 gram), the small bar (10 grams), the medium bar (100 grams), and the large bar (1 kilogram).
How to Choose the Right Weight and Size for You
When you're ready to buy gold bullion, you'll need to decide on the weight and size that's right for you. Here are some factors to consider: - How much money do you want to spend? Gold bullion comes in many different price ranges, so you'll need to figure out how much you're willing or able to spend. - What's your preferred method of storage? Some people like to keep their gold bullion in a safe at home, while others prefer to store it with a bank or other third-party storage facility. - How easy do you want it to be to sell your gold? If you think you might want to sell your gold at some point, you'll want to choose a weight and size that's easy to find buyers for.
Pros and Cons of Gold Bullion
Gold bullion is often thought of as a safe investment, but there are both pros and cons to consider before investing in gold. On the plus side, gold bullion is a tangible asset that has been used as a form of currency and store of value for centuries. Gold is also relatively scarce, which gives it value even when paper money is devalued. Gold bullion is also portable, making it easy to transport and store. On the downside, gold prices can be volatile, and you may not get the full value of your investment if you sell gold bullion. Gold bullion is also subject to theft and fraud. You should only buy gold bullion from a reputable dealer, and keep it in a secure location.
Where to Buy Gold Bullion
When it comes to buying gold bullion, there are many different weights and sizes to choose from. The most popular options include 1 oz, 10 oz, and 100 oz bars. There are also smaller options like 1 gram and 5 gram bars, as well as larger options like 1 kilogram and 100 ounce bars. The best place to buy gold bullion is from a reputable dealer. There are many different dealers to choose from, so it's important to do your research before making a purchase. You can find reputable dealers online or in person at local coin shops or precious metals dealers. When buying gold bullion, be sure to pay attention to the spot price of gold. This is the current market price for gold, which can fluctuate daily. You'll want to make sure you're getting a good deal on your purchase by paying close attention to the spot price. Gold bullion is a great investment for those looking to diversify their portfolio or add a hedge against inflation. With so many different weights and sizes available, there's an option for everyone. Be sure to do your research before making a purchase, and pay attention to the spot price of gold to get the best deal possible.
Conclusion
Gold bullion is a popular investment because it is a tangible asset that has intrinsic value. Gold bullion can be bought in many different weights and sizes, so investors can choose the amount of gold they want to buy. Gold bullion is also portable and easy to store, making it an ideal investment for those who want to diversify their portfolio or have a liquid asset that they can easily access.

Leclerc says his start 'wasn't good enough' as pole-sitter forced to settle for P2 at Singapore GP
Charles Leclerc was left to lament a bad start that cost him a possible victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, as the Ferrari driver took the chequered flag in second place behind race winner Sergio Perez. Leclerc said his start from pole "wasn’t good enough" as Perez made his way past on the run down to Turn 1. While both drivers exchanged fastest laps early on, Perez was able to pull away from Leclerc before the drivers swapped their intermediates for slick tyres. Leclerc pitted for the medium tyre on Lap 34 trying to undercut Perez, but a slow pit stop cost him time. However, after a Safety Car – caused by Yuki Tsunoda’s crash on Lap 34 – bunched up the field, Leclerc put Perez under intense pressure but dropped back towards the end, finishing 7.5s behind the Red Bull driver. READ MORE: Perez hails ‘best performance’ in F1 in Singapore Grand Prix as he gives his view on Safety Car investigation Speaking about why he'd dropped back, Leclerc said: “To be honest, first of all I think with Red Bull it seems like we have the upper hand in the first few laps and then they seem to… I don’t know, they struggle a little bit with warm-up but once they put their tyres in a window, they are very strong. “But then at the end of the race it wasn’t that representative. I was pushing until the gap was like 1.5s, but then when I knew it was 5.1s, I just kind of brought the car home, so the pace wasn’t that representative at the end. But having said that, I pushed quite a bit at the beginning of the stint and probably my tyres were also a little overheated at the end.” Charles Leclerc's race start 'wasn't good enough' at Singapore GP With Carlos Sainz finishing third, Ferrari sealed a double podium finish for the first time since the Miami Grand Prix, and Leclerc praised the work done by his team this weekend, believing they made the right calls in a difficult race. “That’s good,” said Leclerc when informed about Ferrari’s double podium finish. “As I said before the weekend, we are trying to take those last races to improve our execution on Sunday, communication, strategy. READ MORE: Perez holds off Leclerc to win rollercoaster 2022 Singapore Grand Prix as Verstappen settles for 7th “We’ve already done a few changes; it’s not been an easy race today, but I think we made the right choices, and for that I am happy. Then of course we will look into the start because that is where we more or less lost the race.” Asked if the bad start cost him victory, Leclerc said: “Maybe. But it’s part of the game. The start wasn’t good enough but then it was a really difficult race for us to overtake but it’s like this.” Leclerc now sits 104 points behind Max Verstappen in the drivers' standings – meaning that victory and fastest lap for his title rival in Japan will give Verstappen the title, regardless of where Leclerc finishes the race. via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

This was a satisfying project! I'd definitely recommend trying it out.
It says you can refrigerate the dough for up to 5 days, but I wouldn't do that again. The first half-batch was easy, but 3 days later, the dough was SO STICKY, I don't even know how much flour I used up getting it back to a workable consistency, and the sour flavor was also much more pronounced. Still tasty, but maybe intense for some people.
All told, I'm not gonna throw out this standard pita recipe (+ tips), which is easy and doesn't require sugar, but this one is definitely tasty and quick and good for managing discard.
Ingredients 235 g warm water (about 110°F) 7.5 g sugar 10 ml salt 45 ml olive oil plus more for greasing the bowl and for frying if cooking the pitas on the stove 15 ml active dry yeast 250 g unfed sourdough starter discard brought to room temperature and stirred down to remove any bubbles 350 g all-purpose flour, divided plus more as needed and for rolling out the dough 105 g cup whole wheat flour
Instructions Combine the warm water, sugar, salt, olive oil and yeast in a large bowl. Stir in the sourdough starter discard. Add half of the all-purpose flour and all of the whole-wheat flour and stir until well combined. Add the remaining all-purpose flour, half a cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Form the dough into a ball. If the dough is too sticky to work with, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of flour or more as needed. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Wipe out the bowl and oil it lightly. Place the dough in it and turn it over to lightly coat the entire ball. Cover the bowl with a plate. Let the dough rest for 1 hour in a warm spot, until doubled in size. Punch down the dough. If you won't bake the pitas immediately, store the dough in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Because the dough may double in size in the refrigerator, choose an appropriately sized container. (When you want to bake, remove as much dough as you’d like.) Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and cut it into 12 pieces. Roll into balls between your palms. With a rolling pin, roll the balls into 7-inch disks, between ⅛- and ¼-inch thick. As you work, add flour to the work surface as necessary to ensure that the dough doesn't stick. Oven method Place a baking sheet, cast-iron pans or a pizza stone on the middle rack of the oven and preheat the oven to 450°F. Once the oven has heated, arrange a few of the rolled-out disks onto the hot surface, at least 2 inches apart. Do this by placing a disk on the palm of your hand and flipping your hand to drop the disk onto the surface, being careful not to burn yourself. The pitas will puff up almost immediately. Bake for 2 minutes, flip over with tongs and continue to bake for 1 more minute. Remove the pitas from the baking surface and place them in a towel-lined basket or bowl. Fold the towel over the pitas to keep them warm. Repeat with the remaining dough disks. Stove top method Heat a medium-size skillet over medium-high heat and brush on a very thin layer of oil. You'll know the pan is hot enough to cook the pitas when it sizzles after you've sprinkled on a few drops of water. Place a disk in the hot pan. Cook until you see bubbles begin to form, about 2 minutes. Flip the disk over and cook for 1 minute. It should begin to puff up a bit. Flip over again and cook for 1 more minute on the other side. Transfer to a towel-lined basket or bowl to keep warm. Continue to cook the remaining pitas, brushing a very thin layer of oil onto the pan in between cooking. Place the pitas in a towel-lined basket or bowl. Fold the towel over the pitas to keep them warm. Repeat with the remaining dough disks.

Anime I Watched This Fall
My first semester of college is officially over and the December holidays are upon us! I hoped to make one of these posts sooner, but I have been incredibly busy with schoolwork. Now that things have slowed down, let’s take sometime to reflect on things I’ve watched.
These anime are listed in chronological order and encompass everything I’ve watched from 9/1/2020 - 12/15/2020
Like always, they will be rated on a 1-10 scale; 1 meaning complete garbage, 10 meaning masterpiece. I will offer my thoughts on what I did/didn’t like about each show!
1. The God of High School - 6/10
Tumblr media
Despite the stellar animation from MAPPA and my high expectations, I was really disappointed by how this series was treated. Most of the story’s crucial elements were handled poorly. I finished this series feeling more confused about the plot than when I first began. The power system is really cool, but poorly explained. More time should have been spent on exposition and world building for this series, instead the fights were given the most screen time.
2.  Doukyuusei - 7/10
Tumblr media
I really liked the style of Doukyuusei. Granted, this was another movie I chose to watch primarily because of the hype surrounding it. The dynamic between Kusakabe and Sajou is an interesting one, and I also enjoy how the movies different acts were separated by the seasons. However, there's nothing that really sets Doukyuusei apart from other romance movies, its a little generic. Still, I enjoyed it nonetheless.
3.  Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season - 8/10
Tumblr media
My opinions on Re:Zero’s second season are biased. This was, by far, the sequel I was most hyped for during the summer/fall anime season. I was so happy to see the story’s continuation and I’m looking forward to the season’s second part coming sometime in January. Re:Zero is one of my all time favorite series because of the way it handles it characters and power dynamics. I also really enjoy the show’s psychological aspects. If you haven’t already, give Re:Zero a try!
4. Saint☆Oniisan (Movie + OVA) - 8/10
Tumblr media
This was a wonderful comedy. I wasn’t sure how the subject of Jesus and Buddha living together would be tackled, but it was handled wonderfully. I was laughing for pretty much the entire movie. I love the art style and little references to both Buddhism and Christianity, plus the incorporation of Japanese culture. Saint Oniisan is a bright comedy, with two eccentric main characters. If you like a show that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and need a good laugh, I can’t recommend this more.
5. Clannad: After Story - 10/10
Tumblr media
Never, while watching anime, did I cry as much as I did while watching Clannad: After Story. I didn’t realize how much I related to Okazaki until I saw him grow up in After Story. I was left sobbing, especially after episode 18. I still, to this day, cannot listen to the Dango song without tearing up. The original Clannad is nothing special, but the continuation of its story its something heartfelt, emotional, and down-to-earth. I love Kyoto Animation with all my heart, and Clannad made me appreciate everything the studio has done just a little bit more. Thank you Clannad, for reminding me about the kind of person I strive to be.
6. Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu - 5.5/10
Tumblr media
The art in A Whisker Away was beautiful. The story itself, however, is nothing too enjoyable. I found it difficult to like our protagonist or her love interest. Nothing about this movie is inherently memorable. The emotional climax came far too early which made the second half of the film seem long and drawn out.  All in all, the movie has a wonderful concept, I just believe it could have been so much more emotional than it was. When I watch a move, I like to empathize with the characters. It’s difficult to do when the characters aren’t given the proper exposition to be empathized with.
7.  Shikioriori - 6/10
Tumblr media
This is less of a movie and more of a collection of short stories. Flavors of Youth is something you shouldn’t watch on an empty stomach, all of the food looks incredible. The same cannot beside for the rest of this feature. The stories themselves seems heavily clichéd. Much like A Whisker Away, the initial premise is intriguing, but the execution results in something that comes across as trying too hard and carries no emotional weight with the viewer. If you plan on watching, pay more attention to the artwork and animation than the actual plot. You won’t be missing anything.
8. Vinland Saga - 7/10
Tumblr media
Vinland Saga helped me get out of the rut that Clannad: After Story. Not only does this show have a great story, its action packed with lots of interesting fights. I especially enjoyed all the Nordic history embedded within the show. Its really unlike any of the other historical anime I’ve watched. I will say, it’s gory. But, compared to all the other things I watched this time around, I finished this series the quickest. Its good, its graphic, its fast paced!
9.  Mononoke Hime - 7/10
Tumblr media
It’s ironic considering how much anime I’ve watched that I have yet to watch all of the most classic Studio Ghibli films. Princess Mononoke is grittier than most other Ghibli films I’ve seen, but it’s message is positive and its characters are wonderful. I can’t really speak ill towards classics like these. I guess maybe my one complaint is that this movie could’ve been a faster pace. Other than that... I really enjoyed everything Princess Mononoke offered! I understand why it’s so popular.
10. Howl no Ugoku Shiro - 8.5/10
Tumblr media
Can you believe it took me this long to finally watch Howl’s Moving Castle? Me neither!! This movie is so endearingly beautiful. I loved every second of it, from the characters to the soundtrack. So many iconic things come from just this one movie. I would like to take this time to thank my best friend for reminding me that Studio Ghibli films are wonderful! Thank you for watching this with me, I loved it! All in all, I regret not watching this sooner!
11. Toradora! - 6.5/10
Tumblr media
Toradora took me a while to finish, just because I lost interest about halfway through. But, I powered through it, and ended up really enjoying the show! I’m not the biggest fan of the ending, but that’s just a personal preference. Somehow, this show also made me cry? I’m not entirely sure why because Toradora! is probably the thing farthest from sad. Apart from the show’s dull slice of life moments, it was super cute! A much needed light-hearted romance.
12. New Initial D Movie: Legend 1 - 5/10
Tumblr media
Full disclosure, this is the only thing related to Initial D that I’ve ever watched. My band and I watched this expecting to hear some of that iconic Initial D music, itself all we got was a mildly confusing story about different types of cars. It was cliché and frankly a little boring. Although, I am still considering watching the original Initial D just so I can hear the music in the way it was original intended. I’ve got no other opinions on this movie. It’s best not to watch these movies without the context from the rest of the franchise.
13.  Uchuu Patrol Luluco - 7.5/10
Tumblr media
I didn’t really understand why people enjoy studio Trigger so much until I watched Space Patrol Luluco. I loved all the fun references to other studio Trigger works. I loved the humor, and I loved all the bright colors. The animation was extremely high energy, and the art style fits the show’s premise. Each episode was only 12 minutes long so it was a super quick binge. If you’re looking for something quick, light-hearted and comical, this is the perfect show to watch.
14. Orange - 7/10
Tumblr media
I owe a big thanks to a tumblr mutual for recommending this show to me! This holds the honor of making me cry by episode 3! I honestly did not expect the subject matter of this show to be as dark as it was. Usually when I see the genre ‘shoujo’ I do not associate it with a love story like that of Orange. The heavy subject matter made it a little too close to home for me, but I still really enjoyed this series. It reminds me off all the good times I had with my friends in high school, and of all the regrets I carry with myself to this day.
15. 3-gatsu no Lion - 7.5/10
Tumblr media
March Comes in Like a Lion is another show that was a bit of a slow burn for me. Each episode left me feeling emotionally drained, so I had to take a lot of breaks while I was working on watching this series. Shaft, the studio behind this anime, holds a special place in my heart because I loved their work on the Monogatari Series. March Comes in Like a Lion is a little different. It’s driving force it is characters, and it was cathartic to watch our main character transform through the entire duration of the first season. I know the show’s second season is much better, so I’ll be starting that soon!
16. Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei - 8/10
Tumblr media
I loved how artsy and smart The Tatami Galaxy is, but honestly I couldn’t watch too much at once cause it would hurt my head. I also couldn’t watch this show while I was tired because the speaking rate is much faster than typical anime. The Tatami Galaxy is so unique for its medium. I loved the different time loops and the crazy animation. The characters were fascinating. The dialogue, although very fast, it also fantastic. There’s an element of humor to this unique story telling, and I enjoyed ever minute of it!
Currently Watching:
Hunter x Hunter - 6.5/10 (As of Episode 30)
Tumblr media
I pride myself in having watched a lot of shounen anime, but I was reluctant to start Hunter x Hunter for years because I thought I would find it boring. I was oh so very wrong. Considering great shows like Naruto and Fairy Tail that fall under the same category, I expected Hunter x Hunter to be subpar in comparison. It gets a low score for two reasons. One, the power system was introduced a little too late and now I’m wondering if all the fights post episode 30 will involved nen in some way, shape, or form. Two, its still on hiatus.
Two Cursed Additions For This List
Please to do not let these be representative of my anime taste.
1.  Yarichin☆B*tch-bu - 4/10
Tumblr media
I am a CLOWN for not knowing this was 18+. The only reason I watched this was to see why everyone was talking about the pink-haired boy with the glasses and tongue piecing. I know why now, and I regret it. This was a massive mistake on my part. But hey, at the least the art and ending song kinda slap?
2. Euphoria (Dropped After 1 Episode) - 2/10
Tumblr media
If you know what I’m talking about when I say Euphoria, I am so sorry. And no, I am not talking about the HBO series. Seriously, don’t google this. Don’t watch this. Don’t interact with anything related to this. You’re probably wondering, “Then why did you watch it?” I did not watch this willingly. You see, I have a very bad habit of starting anime and then taking months to finish them. I made an ultimatum with a friend, lost, and then was forced to watch this a punishment. Not a fun experience. I’m very glad there are no GIFs of this on tumblr...

Aromantic Experiences in Fandom: Survey Result
PART 1 - PART 2 - ANALYSIS - TIME IN FANDOM - ANALYSIS: AROALLO VS AROACE
This post wants to see if there are any differences between the opinions of survey respondents, depending on how long they have been in fandom. For this analysis, respondents were split into three main groups: short-time (3 years in fandom or less), medium-time (4 to 7 years in fandom) and long-time (8 years or more in fandom). The short-time group is made up of 215 people, the medium-time one of 411 people, the long-time one of 259 people.
I suggest reading through Part 1 and Part 2 of the survey results, which shows the general results, and/or keeping them open in another tab in case you want to quickly confront the general results with what is found in this post.
Not all questions of the survey will be discussed here, only those where there was some difference in how the various groups answered. If a question is not discussed, it was either not considered relevant (i.e, demographic questions are not discussed here, as the point of this was not to see what the different demographics were for each group) or showed no significant differences between the various groups.
General Fandom Questions
In general, would you say fandom spaces are aro-friendly?
The short-time group was the most likely to be unsure of this (58.1%) and slightly more likely to say yes (11.2%). The medium-term group said no slightly more often than average (46.7%) and yes slightly less often (8.8%). The long term group was both the most likely to say yes (12.7%) and the most likely to say no (49.4%).
Do you think it's easy to find aromantic specific content in fandom?
Both the short- and medium-time group said no slightly more often than average (88.8% and 88.1%), while the long-time group said no slightly less often (83.4%). The long-time group also said yes more often than average (8.1%).
Do you think alloromantic (non-aromantic) fans are in general respectful of aromantic interpretations of characters/media?
The long-time group was the most likely to answer no to this (61.8%), while both short- and medium-time groups answered no less than average (52.6% and 55.7%). The long-time group was less likely to answer yes (6.9%) while the short- and medium-time groups were more likely to answer yes (10.7% and 9.0%).
Have you ever received arophobic hate or harassment over something relating to fandom (aromantic headcanons, aromantic fancontent, etc.)?
The medium-time group was very in line with the average. The long-time group was more likely to say yes (22.8%), while the short-time group was less likely to say yes (13.0%).
Content Creators Questions
The short-time group was less likely to be a content creator, while the long-time group was the most likely. There were 144 short-time content creators, 314 medium-time content creators, and 218 long-time content creators.
Have you ever made content focusing on aromantic headcanons, or other kinds of aromantic content?
Long-time creators were more likely than average have made aromantic content in addition to their non-aro content (61.5%), while short-time content creators were less likely (54.4%).
Have you ever received hate because of the aro content you made?
Short-time content creators were less likely to say yes (17.3%), while the medium- and long-time creators were more likely to say yes (19.6% and 20.4%).
Shipping Questions
The long-time group was more likely to enjoy shipping (92.7%) than either of the other two groups. In total, we have 240 long-time shippers, 360 medium-time shippers, and 184 short-time shippers.
Shippers
How important is shipping to you when it comes to being in fandom?
There are some fairly large differences between the groups here. Short-time fans were the most unlikely to have shipping as their primary form of engagement (2.2%), medium-time fans still being below average when it came to answering this way (5.0%), while long-time fans answered this way quite above average (14.6%).
Something similar happens when we look at the percentage of fans who answered that shipping is important to them, but they also enjoy other sides of fandom. Short- and medium-time fans were less likely to answer this way (21.2% and 21.7%), long-time fans more likely (25.8%).
When we look at percentages for the option saying that shipping is as important as other sides of fandom, short-time fans were the most likely to pick it (42.4%), followed by medium-time fans (38.3%), and lastly long-time fans (36.7%).
The next option offered was considering shipping not very important, and preferring other sides of fandom. This option was more likely to be picked by short- and medium-time fans (33.2% and 33.1%), far less so by long-time fans (20.8%).
Lastly, when it comes to considering shipping the least interesting part of fandom, the differences between the groups were minimal, with long-time fans being the most likely to answer this way (2.1%), followed by medium-time fans (1.9%) and short-time fans (1.1%).
Do you consider non-romantic shipping (shipping characters as queerplatonic partners, friends with benefits, etc.) to be a valid form of shipping, or do you think shipping only refers to romantic situations?
The short-time group was most likely to answer that yes, non-romantic shipping can count as shipping (75.0%), followed by medium-time (73.3%) and long-time (65.4%). In turn, the long-time group was the most likely to answer that some non-romantic situations can count as shipping (26.7%), followed by the short-time group (19.6%) and the medium-time one (19.4%). The short-time group was the least likely to answer that only romantic situations count as shipping (5.4%), with the medium- and long-time groups answering this way more often (7.2% and 7.9%).
When it comes to your ships, do you prefer content that focuses more on the romantic or sexual aspect of the relationship?
This is another question that gained quite differing opinions between the various groups. The overall most common option picked here was preferring romantic content and disliking sexual content. The short-time group picked this option far more often than average (42.8%), and so did the medium-time group (37.8%), but the long-time group picked it far less often than average (19.6%). In fact, this was only the third most picked option for the long-time group.
The medium-time group said that they prefer romantic content, while still enjoying the sexual aspect, more rarely than either of the other two groups (20.0%). The short-time group was in line with the average answers (24.5%). The long-time group picked it more often than average (27.9%), and it was with a good margin the second most commonly picked answer for this group, as opposed to third overall.
For the long-time group, the most chosen answer was that it makes no difference, that they picked way more often than average (37.9%). The medium-time group picked it less often, more in line with the overall average (31.9%). The short-time group was by far the least likely to pick it (23.9%).
The long-time group was more likely than average to say that they prefer sexual content, while still enjoy romantic content (12.1%). The medium-time group followed (8.3%), and lastly came the short-time group (7.1%).
The short- and long-time group both were slightly more likely to say that they prefer sexual content and dislike romantic content (2.7% and 2.5%), the medium-time group a little less likely (1.9%).
Would you say fans place too much importance on romantic shipping, leaving too little space for other kinds of discussions?
Medium- and short-time groups were most likely to answer yes (89.2% and 84.2%), while the long-time group was less likely (77.9%). The long-time group was much more likely to answer no (7.5%), followed by the short-time group (4.3%) and lastly the medium-time group (2.8%).
Non-Shippers
Is the reason you don't enjoy shipping connected to the fact that you are aromantic?
Short-time fans were less likely to say yes (80.0%). Medium-time fans were in line with average (86.3%). All long-time fans answered yes.
Would you say fans place too much importance on romantic shipping, leaving too little space for other kinds of discussions?
The long-time group was the only one where some people answered no (5.3%), answering yes less than average (89.5%). In the short-time group, most people said yes (96.7%), with the rest answering unsure. Everyone in the medium-time group answered yes.
Do you think you would be more into shipping if people more often shipped characters in a non-romantic way, such as writing about queerplatonic relationships?
The medium-time group was the most likely to say yes (86.3%), followed by the short-time group (83.3%). The long-time group answered yes less than average (78.9%).
Summary
Some of the differences found within the various groups can easily be considered due to the amount of time spent in fandom. For example, long-time fans were more likely to have created aro-specific content, this could simply be due the fact that they have had more time to create and, reasonably, have created more works. Long-time fans were also more likely to have received hate because of their aromantic creations or headcanons, again, this may be because they have simply had more time to run across arophobes.
Long-time fans are the most likely to say that fandom spaces are not aro-friendly, and also the ones to find alloromantics the least respectful of aro interpretations (maybe also due to having received more hate than average). However, they were also the group most likely to say that aro content is easy to find within fandom.
Some of the biggest differences noted came in the context of shipping. Long-time fans are much more likely to consider shipping very important to them, including seeing it as their primary way of engaging with fandom. They were also, at large, the group less likely to say that the amount of shipping present in fandom is excessive. If I may hazard an hypothesis, I would say that people who find shipping particularly bothersome are more likely to distance themselves from fandom spaces because of it. Thus, it seems to me reasonable that long-time fans would be as a general rule the ones to enjoy shipping the most and be more at ease with it.
Short- and medium-time groups are more likely to prefer the romantic aspect of shipping compared to the sexual aspect, and especially they are more likely to say that they dislike sexual content entirely. Long-time fans, on the other hand, seem to be more favorable when it comes to sexual content, and to be less favorable towards romantic content. That being said, looking at the preferred tropes did not show a lot of difference between the three groups (which is why they were not covered in this post).
When it comes to non-shippers, the long-time group was the most likely to say that they do not enjoy shipping due to being aromantic. However, the group most likely to say that shipping is too prevalent in fandom spaces was the medium-time one.

imma give this to roe in a second bc there’s questions for him
but yeah, he’s a therapist who is literal trash at conversations. idk how that happened but it did
and thats exactly how it happens. i just kinda give my laptop to him and tell him to talk on here and then do whatever
N E WAY TIME TO GIVE HIM PHONE
Roe here -
1. I do workout, I do it mostly for health but I don’t mind the fact that it gives me muscles. If that makes sense
2. In my opinion, maybe a 7.5 (Ghost disagrees with that one but it’s my opinion)
3. I’m gonna answer in two different ways, both just in general and in a sexual way (That feels weird to type)
General: probably her hands or her thighs
Sexual way: this feels weird to answer, honestly. But I’d probably her ass? That feels so weird to type
4. I‘m technically a psychologist but I just say therapist because I‘ve met people who didn’t really know what a psychologist is and I don’t want to have to explain it to people
5. I have, but not recently. The last time I did was probably a year ago if not more
6. I do live in a penthouse type thing, I’m not sure if it’s technically called a penthouse but I call it that. I have a couple bathrooms where I live, but the master one isn’t giant or “big”. It’s probably medium sized. And I do have the waterfall shower
7. I have a motorcycle and a mustang, I don’t use the motorcycle as much (Ghost used it more but then health kind of made that too risky)
8. I won’t say the age gap, simply because Ghost said she doesn’t want her exact age out there. But she‘s in her early twenties, so there’s a twenty something age gap. But I don’t look like the guy in the video.
9. Okay, so the way I style myself is kind mixed. Its dependent on the day, but I guess you could say I wear kind of a ceo type of thing when I go to work. When I’m not it varies but I have done the shirt with buttons undone, no tight pants though. I talked to Ghost about this because she knows more about style “labels” and she said my style fits into the “academia” style
10. We both clean and get help if we need it, before Ghost’s health started acting up more it was mostly us but now we get help. I don’t have a live in maid or anything, I do have a maid who comes in to clean twice a week
Thank you for the questions, and yes, you did good.
- Roe
motorcycle 👀 academia 👀 you’re so cool for that phew . thank you for answering everything !!

Ok so ya girl went back and pressed ‘buy’ on that aliexpress factory reject Violet Willow. Probably after seeing that shimmer video because I wasn’t sure just how flat-flat the heads were going to be. Anyway $14 seemed like a decent gamble even if only the gorgeous mix of metallic and matte kiwi hair goes to use. Lucky me, not too many paint defects but hair problems I can fix: she had a big split and the hair was unsealed. After removing lots of hair (that is so fine it goes ev-ery-where), heating and supergluing, there’s still enough hair that a side part looks nice.
Lily the dog was having an anxiety attack over the hairdryer again so I switch to a bowl of boiling hot water for the head, got a nail bufffer with the lowest grit to sand down the eyes in case the fit isn’t right and it isn’t, over and over... so I keep sanding until the eye goes in and ooooh it finally dawns on my -unfed, headached, needing to pee and panicking about my dog and tasks for the day- brain that duh the eyes weren’t round in the custom eyes video. By this time the water to heat the head was cold and I’m afraid I attacked this poor head with the rubber end of my pliers to get eye number 2 with the cut + sanded top in there. I pry out eye number 1 and of course I don’t have eye number 2 now to make an exact copy. *headslaps* In conclusion, my cyborg body will include a ‘Maslow hierarchy of needs’ freeze current program until levels are back to acceptable hack.
TL;DR: 18mm half round eyes are fine, don’t sand them down as the eyewells are plenty deep. DO cut off the top and sand that into a rounded shape. Make sure both eyes match. Heat the head until it’s really quite pliable or you’ll get mini tears in the eyeliner as seen above.
I would like to take a moment to express how frickin cute dark brown eyes are, even lashless, misaligned, slightly clashing, too shallow, cheapy, slightly frosted ones (removed from doris the recast before I threw her away).
Tumblr media
Imagine what nice glass eyes with a pretty hazel could do for this doll!
I’ve got a bunch of cheapy 20mm eyes with the same size iris as these (12mm) that I can experiment with if they don’t fall apart. I turned all the nice blythe eye printouts I’d bought into 13mm glass eyechips which is RAGRET.
Notes:
-She’s on a Disney Descendants Jane body with a dremel thinned neck anchor so you can actually remove it again and elastic bands so her head doesn’t flop from the weight of the hair. Having some chest and thick thighs looks good on her.
-Acetone removes the shimmer so fixing paint errors leaves visible holes, you can attenuate this with a nail buffer at medium grit or magic eraser.
-There are four Kiwi by Donggang hair colours here: metallic silver, metallic cornflower blue, metallic fuchsia and matte mauve. The silver looks nasty when wet. Headsize for wigs is 7.5"
-The cupid’s bow is painted on silver over a normal lip which looks a little odd under normal light.
-Flat heads look creepy from the side when the eyes are too recessed.
-Highlighter/shimmer looks lovely but does not belong on the forehead and under the nose.
-I’d have gone with white metallic instead of silver. Silver is trendy on human hair but white on dolls gives a warmer, less muddy blend if you’re aiming for a violet.
- I need to dig out my heating pad from the winter storage who knows where because desensitization with Lily the dog is going nowhere and no wonder because I’m not exactly a calm stable beacon of strength right now.
I can’t really give you a conclusion or a proper review (will leave that to @keiths-dolls when he get’s his hands on one) as it’s a damaged eyeless bodyless head. I’ll probably get Sunny and maybe Poppy when they arrive on these shores AND will continue to yell at Issac Larian online. Probably won’t get more unless there’s a big price drop as I’d like a couple of FailFix and to finish the Star Darling rainbow. Will provide exact eye dimensions at a point that coincides with a dog walk and it being between 9-21h (noise regs) which probably won’t be until saturday.
I forgot links aliexpress.com/item/4001240310784.html and this one has an unrooted raine head aliexpress.com/item/4001246939241.html

Homestuck characters and their hugs- rated by me
insp by @karixx-png
i am so touch starved writing these is giving me heart palpitations
John- strong. definitely lifts people up when he hugs them. really good at hugs probably has the most practice. when he’s sad he drops all of his weight onto you tho but even thats kinda nice cause you get to wrap him into ur arms  9/10
Rose- rose is..... trying. its the thought that counts? but like, she’s way to stiff for this to be a good hug. she does get the emotional bit down though! shes probably better off going with a good natured pat on the head tho 4/10
Dave- needs a hug thats for sure.. i think he would be too flustered to maintain a proper hug for long. he appreciates them! he just doesn’t know what to do with his hands and its nice but its... alot. good with those one armed side hugs tho! 5/10
Jade- JADE GOOD HUGS!!!!! LIFTS PEOPLE UP SPINS THEM AROUND AND SQUEEZES YOU SO TIGHT!!!!! BURIES HER FACE INTO YOUR SHOULDER AND YOU CAN FEEL HER SMILE!!!! 10/10
Jane- good professional hugs! definitely one of the more comfortable, natural, huggers! it comes really easily to her! literally the best person to hug when ur sad, she does that really nice thing where she rubs up and down your back with her nails. she also always smell good. i want jane to hug me so bad 10/10
Roxy- ANOTHER GOOD HUGGER! good combo of a jane and jade hug! more for casual cuddling as opposed to a hug tho! likes to drape her body over people like a cat 9/10
Dirk- desperate hugger.  you already have to be pretty close to dirk to get a hug out of him, and one of you is probably going to be crying when it happens. bad at initiating but once it is he tooooooootally just sinks all his weight into it and just grabs onto you. probably cries. 7/10 the hug isnt really all that gr8 but you feel v emotionally relived after it all
Jake-  another one of those bone crushing huggers! jakes hugs are always him basically squeezing the life outta u. good for the short term! not sustainable tho  also very talkative but if you like pet his hair he’ll get real quiet real quick 7/10
Aradia- in theory she would be a good hugger! not to good at it in practice tho! all the potential is there tho, she is very strong and soft! needs practice but getting there 7/10
Tavros- very medium hugs? theyre not bad for sure! and he puts the effort in! he’s just v akward about it 5/10 medium
Sollux- i cant see Sollux ever giving out hugs too willingly. if you were really close maybe? he kinda just leans on u with his arms next to you. not a good hugger. thats okay tho he listens to u about whatever u need to say and helps things make sense. still not a good hugger tho 2/10
Karkat- if ur gonna hug karkat he will probably start crying! and then get mad at himself for crying so be prepared for him to mush his face into your shoulder. very clingy he’s gonna hug you HARD . very hug shaped though, fits in ur arms nice. comfy. 8/10
Nepeta- TACKLE HUGS!!! she WILL jump on u to hug u.  then u gotta move around with a nepeta clinging to u like a back pack. very nice tho, very comforting weight 7.5/10
Kanaya- hugs always start stiff with her. give her a second and she’ll relax dw! after that she is a very firm hugger, not in a bad way tho! makes you feel safe. if ur close she’ll probably hum while she hugs you 9/10
Terezi- if u hug terezi and she likes you ur in this for the long haul. you have a troll permanently attached to u now. deal with it. that said terezis hugs r good! a little tight but good! she comfy 8/10
Vriska- i dont think vris would be one for physical affection! maybe if she was really feeling up to it and liked you enough she’d sling an arm over your shoulder or give a quick squeeze! but long term hugs nah 3/10
Equius- damp. 1/10
Gamzee- i would not hug him. ?/10
Eridan- desperate hugger. always seems to hug u for a little to long. not the worst tho. 4/10
Feferi-  hugs u a little to hard at first but thats okay! she evens it out quickly! very talkative! likes if u play with her hair when u hug her! not good at sitting still but she usually ends up patting your back! 8.5/10
BONUS!
Calliope- very light hugs... likes when u hug her firmly tho. shes very.... boney... to say the least. so not very comfortable but the effort is there! better with her words! 4.5/10
Calliborn- no 0/10

Tumblr media
✎desc; how I would rate haikyuu character's drawing.
✎team[s]; fukurodani, inarizaki
✎genre; crack
✎language[s]; english
✎chef note; okay, first off, I'm not a professional drawer but I can still rate drawings. This idea just came to me like a minute ago and I had to do it now, so enjoy :)
Tumblr media
fukurodani.
Bokuto
Aight, I see that we started off greatly.
In all honesty, he have no idea how to draw,
And of course his drawing would look,,,, quite terrible i'm so sorry bokuto lovers
He's that kid in art class where's when the teacher already told them what to draw,
Bokuto sat there on his chair, staring at the canvas
Like, what is he suppose to do? Draw?
Well, yeah technically but what???
I can totally see him frustratingly erase the sketch if it can be called as a sketch
And then proceed to try to copy other people's work
Keyword; try
It's bad but at least he had an effort to finish it
4/10, there I said it
Akaashi
His drawings are not that professional but it's pretty
Have you ever seen a drawing that you wanted to stare at it for hours until you're satisfied?
That what's his drawing are like
Not typically an art kid so he's fine when student's from his art class asked him to draw for them
And is feeling pretty neutral with his talent (he actually won't call it a talent but more like a hobby or sum)
And just say 'thanks' if peoples compliments his drawing
Let say his drawing is, a good 8/10
A decent drawer in conclusion :)
Konoha
Not a bad drawer but he rather keep it basic
Konoha's prolly too lazy to draw something over the top so he's just gonna draw flower or something ksndnzkj
Sometimes sleep during art class and had to ask what they had to draw
Proceeds to decently draws a scenery
He's totally not the creative kid so whenever the teach tell them to draw something, he'll always go with basket of fruits, like,
Man, I appreciated the drawing but at least put some effort on thinking what to draw
The art teacher also kept telling him that he have raw talent and should enhance the skill more,
But that never happened, no
"Sorry ma'am, I'll just stick to volleyball, thank you,"
One part of the art room has a section of konoha's basket of fruits drawings but in different mediums
Rating is 7/10
Washio
IS actually an art kid and you cannot convince me otherwise
Has a small sketchbook with him and he'll always doodle when he's bored or in a middle of a lecture (while taking notes of course)
His main skill in drawing tho is painting
The colors blends in so well with one another and he's good at picking color palettes
Also, he doesn't really get that annoyed if some kids from his class ask him to teach them how to draw
Or even look through his sketchbook
He'll just nod and hand it to them without a second thought
Ajsjdhsijsi Washio get so blushy when someone compliments his drawing,,,,
I’ll give a 10/10 :), congrats
Sarukui
The best that he can do is doodles of owls and other shits but other than that, he cannot do
But the doodles are kinda cute doe ngl
He’ll have his moment where he’s in class and have no idea what to do, and just doodles a bunch of stuff
Once he draw his whole teammate including his coach and himself, he thought to himself,
“Huh, this looks good,”
And then take a picture of it for memories (cause he might throw the book he’s doodling in away)
Speaking of that, he doesn’t have an official book for drawing and just draws in his english or math’s textbook or sum
His juniors eyes are blessed when they got his textbook
Sarukui just vibes in during art class, draws and that’s pretty much it
The drawings,,,,,eh,,,, not that good, he only specialize in doodling as I said
so in conclusion,
drawing? 2/10
doodling? I’ll give a solid 5/10, good job
Komi
I’m gonna say this and I’m prolly gonna say it again
He hates art class
Like, even with him trying his best to draw, it’ll always gonna look strange than what he planned
mf cannot draw a straight line in art class
This dood can draw a nice straight line in any other class whether it’s for a graph or others,
And then proceed to shakily draw a straight line during art session
Totally not an art kid and will never be one
His drawings,,,,
I’m so sorry but it looks so bad
It’ll prolly look a lot better if he put more effort, but it’ll still look bad no matter what
Komi hates art class and can’t draw even a decent doodle so unfortunately, I’ll have to rate it 0/10, sorry :(
Anahori
His drawings are eh
It’s not good but also not bad?
Sometimes you’ll just stare at his drawing for a good minute and be like, what did he just draw just now?
What I’m saying is that his drawing’s are unexplainable
Maybe if you stare at it a little bit longer then it’ll make sense and you can see the beauty in it
But honestly I can’t really see anything, not in a bad way, but like, literally nothing
You’ll be staring at his canvas as the mario kart rainbow road music started playing inside your head
But Anahori is always proud of his drawings no manner what
So, I’ll rate confusion/10
Onaga
Just like Komi, he sorta hates art class too
But lemme tell ya, his sketches are GODLY, like, have you seen those pinterest hand sketches?
That’s what his sketch would look like
It’s so yummy to look at what
But he sucks at lineart so JAHGSDSHD
Onaga cannot properly hold the black pen and do the lineart, it’ll always turn wonky and he had to throw it away
Like, if he spend even hours tryna outline it all, and then erase it
It’ll look so trash
And he’ll just stare at it for a couple of minutes before crumpling the paper
He’ll also suck at coloring
Mans cannot understand how the color blend in together
And I think I’ll rate,,,,,6/10 just cause he suck at coloring and lineart lmao don’t worry i suck at coloring too
Kaori
Another decent drawer and her drawings are almost the same as Akaashi’s
But instead of it looking pretty, it looks cute
I have a headcanon that Kaori have a journal and does journaling so that’s prolly the reason why her drawings are cute af
But honestly, her drawings sometimes depends on her mood,
If she’s mad or frustrated, her drawing would look kinda rough and not that cute anymore
If she’s feeling happy tho, It’ll look so nice and cuddly does that even make any sense
Isn’t necessarily an art kid but would love to try be one
And she totally have drawing sessions with Washio aaaaaa,
Just imagine both of them sketching in the same sketchbook while talking about the volleyball club or anything else
She’s getting an 9/10 just cause her sketchs looks clean <33
Yukie
She doesn’t draw at all
Like, you’ll never see her drawing at any kind of time so you have no idea what it looks like
Yukie would still attend art class,
But never draws
She said that she’s pretty lazy to draw it and said to draw it at her home later
But no one even saw that drawing after that
Yukie doesn’t show her drawings nor EVEN draw for once
So I technically can’t rate :/
inarizaki.
Ginjima
LISTEN
The only reason why I started with Gin is because he have some amazing drawing skills
He admit that he’s not an art kid but draws godly as if he had been thought since he was a kid,
Well, actually yes
I think Ginjima actually wanted to be a drawer when he was still a little kid way before he started his 3rd year of middle school
So he practiced a few and became a nice drawer since then,
But he kinda quit being a drawer and decided to go with volleyball
And guess what?
His drawing talent is still there
He totally specialize in pencil drawing cause that’s the first thing he started learning
The lines are smooth and the shading are so yummy what is wrong with me
The Miya twins and Suna are so sh00ked when he saw his drawing during art class
ngl he’s pretty smug about it too but doesn’t brag about it
I’ll give this boy 12/10, mwuaah
Suna
I hate this man for this sole reason
Suna is too LAZY to draw so he doesn’t give any effort in his drawing
I can guarantee myself that I’ll get an eye strain when I saw his drawing
And...
*wipes away tears*
He draws too many dick
–2/10
Don’t come for my head Suna lovers
Atsumu
OMFG
OKAY, OKAY, I KNOW THAT ATSUMU MIGHT PUT ON SOME EFFORT IN HIS DRAWINGS,
BUT WHY IS IT STILL SO BAD?????
He’ll prolly think his drawing would look good but no, it’s not
No matter on what perspective you look his drawings at, It’ll still look bad
AND HE DOESN’T EVEN NOTICE IT
Osamu laughs a lot at his drawing and they started fighting for that only reason smh
Atsumu, I appreciate your effort so SO much,
But please, just stick to volleyball
–10+/10
I put a plus there because of his effort and because of pity
Osamu
He draws in ms paint, with a mouse
But he can draw some foods tho
But all of it looks wonky af
1/10
Akagi
A pretty decent drawer
Akagi always draw happy and cute drawings so you’ll also get happy when you saw his drawings
Puts on a big smile when people compliments his drawing and shyly scratches the back of his neck
“Nah, this just look normal!”
But he draws oddly thick lines sometimes
Sometimes it looks good in some drawing
And sometimes it looks, bizzare in others...
But I think his drawing would look nice <3
Overall, I’ll give a,,, 7.5/10, keep up the good work
Oomimi
He’s from class 7 AND I really think that he’ll be good at drawing
Well, he can draw a few things but he struggles drawing other things he never accustomed to
But!
Oomimi is that kid who’s good at drawing scenery
He knows basic color palettes and which is cold and hot colors
So the scenery drawing would always look good
He get a lot of compliments for the drawing (50% of it from Akagi)
I think he doesn’t have that many time to relax and draw freely but when he does have it, it’ll just be small and simple doodles
um, let’s go with 8/10 <3
Aran
I truly believe that Aran can draw peoples face but in a pretty decent amount
He’s also good with anatomy teach me your ways king
But as much as he’s good at that, he kinda sucks at drawing any kind of background drawings
Mans can’t draw a scenery I’m telling you
As if the background doesn’t even exist in his mind lolol I’m sorry Aran lovers, I didn’t mean that in a bad way
Mainly uses copic markers to color and color pencils to shade
The first time he use the copic marker, he got really frustrated that the marker stain the other pages lmao
And he never uses digital drawing applications or softwares
Aran just doesn’t
I think I’ll rate him, 8.5/10
Kita
Okay, I know that Kita’s a top student and never fails in anything
But he’s not typically a good drawer that much
His drawing still got good marks but when you look at it, it just looks normal
I just know that the Kita lovers gonna get me after this
It’s not that bad and not that good, just a nice balance in between
I personally think Kita’s not that godly in drawing but rather a neutral drawer
He draw what he can and does shading and coloring when it’s needed
The colors are all basic colors, no pastel, no neon
And the shadings are pretty basic
Just a normal drawer here
Ya’ll gonna fight me for this but I’ll give Kita’s point,
7/10

so i realized while i was looking for a costume that i won too many pairs of jeans that i dont actually like and decided to rank them for the internet cause why would i want to do anything productive
Tumblr media
so first up we have these. theyre from gap. theyre definitely mens jeans. i dont know why i bought them. the worn in wash is kind of obnoxious. i think I've only worn them maybe twice? they do fit though somehow but the legs are weirdly baggy. i usually forget i have them. i would never normally wear them but they do look cute with my cowgirl boots (yes i own a pair of cowgirl boots but that's a whole separate post)
rating: 2.3/10
Tumblr media
up next we have these. theyre levis. i bought them at a thrift store when i was home over winter break for like $5. they might be mens, idk. i bought them to have a pair of jeans i could not care about when i was doing crew things. theyre very nice, good quality, nice stretch to them. my mom thinks theyre too small on me (theyre not) but they have some nice stretch to them and i could totally do a split in them if i wanted. i also really can't stand medium wash jeans i think theyre disgusting. but i dont wear them usually outside of my stage crew job which i dont have anymore because school is still closed.
rating: 7/10
Tumblr media
these are actually my moms jeans. theyre from the 1980s. they have absolutely no stretch. theyre like a half size too small on me which is always fun (but they make my butt look good). i think I've worn them once because after awhile they start to hurt cause there's no stretch and theyre too small. also they have a button fly which i think should be illegal. and theyre light wash? i hate light wash jeans almost more than i hate medium wash jeans.
rating: 5/10
Tumblr media
these are another pair of gap jeans. i really can't stand these. they claim to be skinny. they are not skinny. the bottoms do this weird gap thing. also i think theyre like an inch too short. and they have just a smidge too much stretch where you have to wash them after literally every time you wear them. i really dont know why i own them. they could be my villain origin story. my mom thinks they “fit nice” though. i avoid wearing these unless literally every other pair of pants i have is dirty (and on top of all these jeans i own like 10 pairs of leggings cause dance so that's saying a lot)
rating: 1/10
Tumblr media
these are essentially the last pair but in light blue. theyre also from gap. again, not really sure why i own them. these ones do this obnoxious thing where they gradually become shorter on you as the day goes on. i have no idea Why but they do and i really really hate it. also they have a grass stain on them for some reason? idk why or how it even got there but whatever. aesthetically tho they kinda slap and i wear them when i need to look slightly more presentable. also my terrible english teacher senior year had this exact pair of pants and my goal was to wear them on the same day as him and twin but it never happened.
rating: 5/10
Tumblr media
these are my last surviving pair of abercrombie and fitch jeans. i think theyre honestly like a good 5 years old at this point (which is not only my oldest pair here besides my moms but a long lifespan for a&f jeans) theyre kinda cute. they are a size too big on me though now which is mildly annoying cause i definitely have to wash them after every time i wear them. and the pockets are annoying cause they have dumb snaps and dont fit anything. but theyre a vibe. i still wear them when i need to look mildly presentable.

these. these are my absolute ride or die jeans. i love them so much. theyre calvin kleins. i bought them off the sale rack after christmas almost 2 years ago at lord and taylor. like they were originally 80 and i bought them for maybe 20. they are so amazing. good quality denim. nice tight skinny jeans. make my ass look good. theyre my everyday jeans. match literally all my shirts (you'd never know but black jeans are actually my favorite kind of jeans and before this i bought a&f ones that smelled like rubber for 4+ years idk why i did that). the only issue is. they ripped like 6 months ago when i was still at college. and i haven't been able to fix them yet. and they dont sell this style any more. which makes me really sad. and i really need to fix them cause i hate literally all of my other jeans.
rating: 9.5/10 (only cause there's a hole in them rn)

So! Another movie adaptation review. This time, I’m doing (*insert drumroll here*)...
PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME!
(This movie was recently added to Disney+ btw. Guess they finally remembered that it existed...I opted to not pay like Speed Racer though. Yo ho yo ho, a pirate’s life for me...)
It’s based on the Prince of Persia series (the Sands of Time Trilogy, not the two originals or the 2008 remake). So Disney got the rights to make this movie way back in...
Tumblr media
2004? The movie came out six years later!
Anyway, they got the rights at that point. The producer apparantly worked on Pirates of the Carribean, so they decided to try and make a PotC esque franchise by taking cool elements from the source and making a good movie from it (though this time it was a game instead of a theme park ride). They also changed some stuff for the release date in hopes of launching a such a franchise afterwards.
So did they succeed?
Tumblr media
Haven’t seen development for a second movie...so...I guess not. Come to think of it, outside of a likely mediocre VR game, there’s been nothing new for Prinxe of Persia in Ren years since the release of this movie and forgotten sands...
But I’m not here to discuss the issues of loosing what could have possibly-maybe-not really been another great franchise like Pirates’. I’m here to discuss whether or not it’s actually a terrible movie as many say it is.
This time, I’m going to try to break it down to pieces for the purposes of being comprehensible and sounding like I know what the fuck I’m talking about rather than just giving a likely subjective opinion...
ANYWAY LET’S GET TO IT!
1. THE STORY (spoilers ahead)
If you went to this movie believeing it would try to exactly copy the story of the first game, then I’ve absolutely no idea what to tell you. So I guess I’ll make a list of similarities and differences about such things
Similarities:
Persian Prince attacks city, gets Dagger, saves princess, runs from bad guys, fights bad guy, gets sent back in time to the start of the game (or movie in this case) and prevents the villain’s plan from ever really getting off the ground to begin with.
Said Prince is good at parkour and swordfighting.
Unfortunately, Princess doesn’t do much outside of being eye candy, occasionally share exposition, and take the Dagger from the Prince at one point (could they seriously not make her, like, be at least able to fight well? C’mon Disney, if you wanted to make this movie discount pirates, at least make the female lead more like Elizabeth and less like Sleeping Beauty!)
The King dies and then un-dies when the timeline gets reset or whatever
And now Differences! First, I will say that I understand some of these had to be made to adjust to the new medium (video games and movies aren’t experienced the same way, after all), but I’m still going to list them
The Prince has a name: Dastan.
He has two brothers, Tus and Garsiv
His uncle is the revealed villain instead of some random no-name Vizer
The movie is mostly in the desert city of Alamut and some nearby desert-y areas of Persia while the game takes place in India
The Princess’s name is Tamina instead of Farah
A lot of the side peoples like the Hassansins, Seso, and Sheik Amar were added to the movie
The Prince doesn’t release the Sands of Time in the start of the story. Instead it only happens in the Third Act
So, I’d say overall there was an alright job at changing the story to fit a movie setting more. You can’t really have a character that has much more human interactions as opposed to just parkour and fighting sand monsters not have some sort of name. The side characters help to establish decent side parts to the story.
Overall, I think the story is...okay. It’s not amazing, but I think it gets the job done in a reasonable fashion.
2. THE CHARACTERS
Now for the other important part. Before I get into the performance, I will say I’m disappointed in yet another instance of whitewashing in Hollywood. I would’ve definitely liked it if they could’ve avoided this issue, but for now I’ll tick off points for that and discuss the performances.
Tumblr media
Jake Gyllenhaal does a pretty great job as Dastan. He’s a dashing rogue with some good lines and generally sells his performance pretty well despite the mediocre plot and story.
Tumblr media
Ben Kingsley does a good job as the traitor uncle Nizam. While he’s not always as threatening as, say, the Hassansins, he does certainly have his moments in the film and his motivations are hinted at early in and make sense.

Richard Coyle’s Tus (left) and Toby Kebbell’s Garsiv (right) are mediocre. They’re not as interesting as Dastan or some other characters I’ll mention later, but I will say Tus as a character seemed a lot better and more fleshed out for the most part than Garsiv.
Tumblr media
Tamina. Already said she’s a missed opportunity for a badass female lead. However, Gemma Arterton makes most of her interactions with Dastan pretty believable and I’ll admit that her attempts at trying to get the Dagger of Time back from The Prince are pretty neat and she almost succeeds two out of four times (actually nearly killed him in one of them, but he gets saved by:
Tumblr media
Yeah, I know it’s a dead meme, but you get the idea.
And lastly, one of my personal favorite performances in the movie, Alfred Molina as Sheik Amar and Steve Toussaint as Seso. They’re not in the movie very long, but I have to say that they’re both my favorites in their own way. Molina’s Amar is quite funny and bizarre and makes for an entertaining supporting character, and despite the unfortunately limited speaking and screen time for Seso, his skill and general badassary are portrayed well.
I’d say most of the characters were good despite the many missed opportunities for the characters and the whitewashing issue. So! I’ll wrap up with a discussion on the effects and action (but not music. The soundtrack was pretty generic imo.)
3. THE ACTION AND EFFECTS
This is definitely the highlight of the film. The action, from the free running to the fights, is all done very well. One of my low key favorite scenes is just before the invasion of Alamut, where Dastan climbs the outer wall. Also, the effects when he rewinds time with the Dagger are amazing. (links aren’t working for me right now so you’ll have to find them yourself.)
Honestly, there’s a lot wrong with this movie between the whitewashing, the not-always-great characters and interactions, and the mediocre plot and soundtrack among other things. However, when this movie does something well, it does it pretty damn well. I think it’s a shame that this movie wasn’t completely able to break the “video game movie” mold, but for what it is, a swashbuckling action adventure movie, it’s good.
7.5/10
Honestly, if I had a decent mike, I could probably make a small YouTube series outta this instead of making a Tumblr essay...
