Small monologue that was for complimenting the Route88 demo. Mainly to clear any confusion on anyone that assumed the GENI3 title is/was the new album by my partner channel, 'Aaron of Live 12'. Listen then to what I said [clean language].
The 'Retired' in this context, specifically relates to the Aaron of Live 12 name being retired only for the music project, since the aesthetics of this new project are too dramatic for a new album under the former title. Meaning, if released as 'GENI3 by Aaron of live 12', the dude would literally be... straying too far from the origins, or roots, of the core existence of that project.
Additionally, before the remastered release of the -MANIFESTATION- album, was of a personal rule he lifted with replaygain limiting. So forced was this, that the extra work on remastering tracks to the soft limits on both ADHDS-03 and -MANIFESTATION-, caused additional stresses outside of compositions, and in the processes of both projects, 12 has frequently experienced prolonged periods of creative blocks, further impacting these projects, or at least he told me in them times.
And in reality, at this moment, this upcoming release, brutal in the energy and in some pattern switches, not often being set in compound or triplet pattern structures like 12's previous projects, thus creative blocks as I stated before. Still, given a guaranteed 9 tracks are coming, and with this new process from the man, I best to describe the change as, a generational leap... to venture into unknown territory, him producing proper breakcore for the first time, and re-learning many basic structures of the processes in producing D&B, EDM and IDM genres, and the newer technologies/plugins in where many sub-genres have been successful in recent years, but not that Hip-Hop, or Trap crap. But what has not changed, is the fact 12 still uses LMMS... yes, the tracking software as well.
The bottom line... do not retrofit the chips into incompatible systems, or else... fatal crash... like so many of our former entities have experienced. End transmission.
----------- reconnected 092323-1311 Another new 'Route88' is in the works, developed on an on-and-off schedule, and is expected to be released in late October/early November. They do say... sometimes... 'easy does it', right? For now, taste was the Route88 demos from earlier, though... show work-in-progress number or not show it... ...end...

I was jamming to some Side Order music when I realised that the track that plays when agent 8 has to do the little rhythm game segment to get back up is 88bpm.
Here's a metronome that plays at 88bpm for comparison.

A while back, my doctor sent me home with an iBloodPressure machine because every time they took my BP when I got to my appointments, it was a fair bit higher than it was supposed to be. At home, my BP was mostly normal whenever I took it, so they were like, "oh well, nevermind, I guess."
Now that I suspect that this may be the result of dysautonomia, I've pulled the machine back out and made an excel sheet to start tracking my shit throughout my day.
Tonight, I got a baseline for "has been sitting for more than 15 minutes," which still gave me a higher result than I would like, but we're early days on this. But what I did then was went and did 10 minutes of standing activity, and then sat back down for a new reading.
Y'all. Holy fuck. My heart rate jumped from resting 88bpm to 118 from washing the dishes. 🥴 I've been sitting now for nearly 10 minutes and I can still feel my heart trying to settle while I try to get a deep breath. Fucking hell.

F1 QUALI HEART RATE EXPERIMENT RESULTS:
(in case you didn’t know, during qualifying i was recording my heart rate, to see any patterns or when my heart rate is fastest/ slowest.) also i’m not an actual doctor or whatever, i run a formula one blog and this is what i do for fun apparently…
my hypothesis was that my heart rate would be fastest in Q3 when my favourite drivers are setting their final laps/ in the third sector.
some important things to consider:
• i have POTS, which (in simple terms) makes my heart rate faster/calmer depending on my posture - during this experiment i was sitting up straight and my heart rate was resting.
• i mostly support the mclaren drivers - but i also support the ferrari drivers. (i’m annoying i know)
• my watch glitched part way into Q2, and said my heart rate was 170 suddenly, when it was actually around 70-80BPM
• i’m italian and biased cos monza/ferrari. soz :)
VARIABLES:
• Dependant Variable: my heart rate (recorded in Beats Per Minute - BPM)
• Independant Variable: the driver qualifying + stage of qualifying
• Controlled Variable: i am recording my results with an Apple Watch series 3 (it’s a bit old now and not so good so don’t be expecting exact numbers) + my posture (also not so good.)
now actually onto the results:
resting: 60BPM
highest: 134BPM (…you’ll see) - this is actually quite low for me, especially in quali. i just wasn’t that hyped clearly.
lowest: 59BPM
Q1:
Q1 average: 76BPM
oscar piastri almost out: 91BPM
Q2:
Q2 average: 85BPM
lando norris almost out: 95BPM
giancarlo fisichella sighting: 89BPM
(at this point my watch told me to take a minute of mindfulness. i said no because i am a formula one fan who hates themself. it also happened when fisichella was on screen - coincidence? i think not.)
Q3:
Q3 average: 111BPM
when my earphones ran out of battery and my broadcast paused: 92BPM
charles leclerc and carlos sainz take P1 back to back: 90BPM
kelly p*quet sighting: 99BPM (scared me ig)
drivers take their Q3 outlaps: 90BPM
then i recorded my heart rate when each driver went over the line:
Fernando Alonso: 88BPM (anomalous result???)
Sergio Perez: 103BPM
Max Verstappen: 107BPM
Lewis Hamilton: 100BPM
George Russell: 104BPM
Oscar Piastri: 107BPM
Lando Norris: 125BPM
Charles Leclerc: 112BPM
Carlos Sainz: 126BPM
Alex Albon: 104BPM
MEAN AVERAGE (excluding anomalous results): 109.7recurringBPM
A SUMMARY:
my hypothesis proved correct - my heart rate increased with each part of qualifying, especially if my favourite drivers were crossing the line.
Q1: 76BPM
Q2: 85BPM
Q3: 111BPM
CARLOS SAINZ PROVISIONAL POLE: 126BPM
HOWEVER, you may have noticed at the beginning i recorded my fastest heart rate as being ‘134BPM’ but i haven’t spoken about it yet. this is because that was my recorded heart rate when CHARLES LECLERC was giggling and speaking italian in his interview. can you blame me though?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FINDINGS:
my heart beats fast ferrari.

Had a Pots flare up while being in the store.
I was so confused out of the blue and anxious and the neon lights on the ceiling where sensory wise hell for me and I started breaking a sweat and everything was spinning , I had ear ringing and my pulse was fucked.
I luckily found a place where I could sit down in the store to recover and not faint.
Then when I had to get up again bcs my mom was at the cash register and I wanted to help my pulse went from 88bpm to 124bpm in the matter of seconds and it was hell 😭
I was so glad sitting after in the car again.
Then when we arrived home and I had to stand again it was shitty again. I like couldn’t wait to sit down in the kitchen to not faint.
I then demonstrated my mom that “uh I think this isn’t normal” and showed her my little party trick :)) pulse 88bpm and it went up to 114bpm. She went like “yeahhh…that’s defo not normal and healthy uhhh maybe u should go see a doctor about this mayhaps???”
And I was like yeah probably.

Last Monday of the Week 2023-10-23
Testing the limits of my kitchen
Listening: I've been using my enormous playlist of Japanese Jazz Fusion as background music at home. This is Galactic Funk by Casiopeia.
youtube
Reading: There's a great PBS video on insect metamorphosis that debunks the whole Butterfly Soup thing and explains the much, much more bizarre truth: even before they enter a chrysalis, caterpillars have started to develop butterfly parts inside their bodies. Big chunky caterpillars contain a half-built butterfly. Inside the chrysalis they simultaneously dissolve the remainder of the caterpillar parts and finish the butterfly on the existing scaffolding.
youtube
There's a great paper referenced in that video which is this one, which is about findings from time-lapsed 3D CAT scans (which I guess makes it 4D) of caterpillars as they pupate.
There's actually quite a few interesting papers on following metamorphosis with modern imaging technology, including a big old thesis that I have only just started to dig into and that I do not understand.
Watching: Nothing.
Playing: I got a little obsessed with Bullets Per Minute, a rhythm FPS roguelike. Well, more of a tempo FPS roguelike, since you have to fire, reload, jump and dash on a very regular 88bpm 4/4 rock/metal soundtrack. Here, I've cut some clips together.
Hell of a lot of fun, I've been in the market for a really fast paced shooter. I tried to replay Titanfall 2, which is good. I also had a good time playing Warframe missions I was way too high level for, eventually I remembered watching the ZeroPunctuation on this and picked it up.
BPM feels great and is also a really fascinating old-fashioned indie roguelike. The game has almost no tutorials, you just get dropped into levels. Items have absolutely bare minimum descriptions and no hard numbers, the fan wiki is full of notes very clearly the result of trying to puzzle out exact damage numbers and percentile improvements from the player side of the game.
It is not hostile though! Very forgiving accessibility options if you aren't great with rhythm and good difficulty modes. I've done two full clears on normal difficulty and like with most roguelikes, that was a product of familiarity and getting the Good Items early in my run (thank you infinite ammo + revolver)
Making: Made a full spec Wedding Meal (vegetable biryani, dal, and soji) for Friends over the weekend. Easier than I expected! A lot of prep but not actually that time consuming, as long as like me you're good chopping one million vegetables.
Also finished hacking on monctl to have a command line interface. It allows fast USB control of a Gigabyte monitor. I have started poking at Display Data Channel to better generalize monitor control because I want to get a second monitor soon but this works great for now.
Tools and Equipment: If you have a dishwasher you should pretty much always use it to wash, even if it's only half full. Your dishwasher probably uses under 12 liters of water to do a full wash cycle, less on Eco modes. You are almost never going to beat it for economy or sterilization, so the only things you should wash by hand are things you either cannot put in the dishwasher (e.g. cast iron) or things you need washed right now.
