Okay, New Posting Plan!!!

I discovered the other day it's been 2 months since I started writing and I only have two chapters completely done for one story and another chapter with sporadic writing of different scenes and another that was almost finished I've been postponing cause there were heavy emotions I wanted to take some time before having to tackle.

In my defense, one of those 2 chapters had, like, 5 rewrites lol.

ANYWAY!!!

Given that at this pace it'll be over a year or two before I ever post anything with what my original plan was, and I realized there was no way I was going to be able to keep up with 3 updates a week, IM CHANGING MY UPDATE PLANS lol

At least for the first one. After that it'll be touch and go, we'll see where things land.

But for the first update, I'm either gonna finish my current WITD sprint, and schedule regular WITD updates while I work on ADP and TTLG and post those sporadically around the WITD scheduled updates and we'll see what kind of rhythm I find in the chaos, haha.

OR I continue to torment you all with suspense and wait till I finish my current writing sprint, write at least two chapters of the other two or more if I hit another writing sprint stride, post the next chapters for all three simultaneously for the first post and figure out a schedule for the other chapters I have saved up based on how long it took me to write a couple chapters each (I promise WITD will not be on a monthly rotation it'll be sooner than that, like I said I got hung up on rewrites 5 times as I got back in the swing of writing characters).

IM FIGURING THINGS OUT GUYS IM NOT A HABITUAL SCHEDULES PERSON SO IM FLAILING OVER HERE lol

Either way you'll get it sooner than if I was stubborn and tried to stick with my original plan, we'll just see where this WITD sprint takes me and how long it's been when i finish it and it'll probably go one of those two ways. 🤷‍♀️

I'll probably do the, post finished WITD chapters from the sprint while I write and post ADP and TTLG as i finish them inbetween the WITD posts until I run out of WITD saved up chapters and we'll see how my writing pace is for all three and figure out something of a schedule from there 🙃👍

BIG sweet tooth. i think hes a huge fan of custard tarts specifically. You took him to a sweet shop on your first date and it was his first time experiencing processed sugars. hes a big fan. he'll eat those things like cucumber slices. you could feed him sugarcubes like a trained horse probably

you showed him those pictures on pintrest of the tiny dogs with messed up haircuts and hes obsessed. hes got a big soft spot for little guys. he will come up to you and ask to see the silly dogs, thats what he calls them

this is what im referring to. i think he gives him names but in an Commedia dell'arte way. like all the fat ones with big noses are smunkles and all the ones with big round hair on their bodies but skinny legs are naboodle

adding onto this, i think he forgets words a lot. like he wants a clemantine, but he forgets the word. so he asks you for the orange sustenance sphere

thats the best of it though. the worst and most nonsensical of it is when he makes up a nonsense word for something when the word escapes him

hes a very quiet person. he likes to watch you do things. like he'll just stand over you while you cook or do your hair. hes a big fan of staring longingly at you. just a big shiny guy standing over you while you chop cucumbers

he likes having his hair played with. he likes having his face touched. he likes all physical affection

space is COLD and NOBODY gives him kisses there and hes NOT a fan. he likes it here, with you. you kiss him and love him. way better than space

he doesnt really know how to verbally ask for affection though, so he'll just sit or stand next to you and stare at you until you touch him in some way

he speaks very formally, but, he likes to copy you. if you have a phrase you like to say he will pick it up, and it will sound ridiculous in his voice

I started with a little cute idea of shadow watching the Aroura Borialis in a field of lilies, seemingly alone but the ghost of Maria is watching with him aww (similar to the dark beginnings episodes). I didn't really know what to do with this drawing after I finished it though...

And then it hit me...boom...a collage idea. So I made a digital sketch in ibis paint

Fun fact: I added pages from Gerald Robotnik's journal, specifically entry #589 (which is about Maria) and entry #620 (which is about how Maria gave the name Project Shadow a new meaning "A shadow can show you where to find the light"). Both entries reflect the characters very nicely and I love that detail 😌✨️

Painting (I frickin love the Aroura Borialis, also THE MOON peak, I loved every second of painting this whole thing!)

Added darker blue shading to the pencil drawing and added the lilies on top. I drew some lilies on paper then traced over them in coloured pencil with a light box

Then I cut up the drawing to look like shattard glass...or a broken record...MUHAHAHAHHA SONIC MOVIE 3 REF PERHAPS? Anyways that was also done with a sketch and the lightbox to help as a guide (I don't have photos of the process but I took photos of the guide sketches)

Thinking about killjoy jackets having meaning, which like, obviously, they're personalized, they're one of the things thats always on you, like your mask or your boots. But the thing is, even if you don't have a crew or anyone to watch your back, you have your jacket to. To quote something I read on here a long time ago that has stuck with me: "They say the Phoenix Witch can’t find you if you die without your mask on. But don’t worry, she knows your boots too. Maybe all that will be left of you is boots and a mask. That’s okay. A mask means that you were someone, a pair of boots means that you went somewhere." A mask shows you were someone, boots mean you went somewhere, and adding to that, a jacket means you stood for something.

I think a killjoy's jacket can tell a story. Look for the wear and tear, the laser burns, the patched-over holes, the parts that have started to fray. That alone can be a life story. Your jacket is wearing your interests and personality literally on your sleeve and being proud to show it, that you're there and you're alive and unique in spite of the world you live in. You wear your heart stretched proudly across your back, your destiny a mantel on your shoulders, and all your friends and all your enemies can see who you are and what you stand for, what you believe in.

There's so many different ways your jacket could come to be Yours. You find one one, make one, personalize it, but I think you could take it a step further, donning a dusted friend's or crew member's jacket is a vow, saying I will avenge you and honor your memory, and that memory, that legacy, that jacket becomes yours over time as your blood and sweat stains it instead, and the holes in it get patched with your colours now. Or maybe your jacket didn't used to belong to a friend, but an enemy. Maybe some killjoys take the jacket of the first scarecrow they stand against, fight and win, as a trophy, as proof to yourself that you're a survivor, you're a killjoy. Its a Fuck You to Better Living, its telling them my legacy with the grave of yours, its taking their sterile white and butchering it, tearing the city down in the form of personalizing your new jacket. Nobody in the desert wears white, but if you see a killjoy that is you'll know instantly its because they've fought and survived, and they're only wearing that white because they haven't had the opportunity to go buy some paint yet.

And then there's making a jacket for someone. A show of trust or devotion or pride above anything else. Its a love letter, a graduation certificate, a medal of honor. If someone's wearing a jacket that was made for them, then they've earned it somehow. It means you're worthy as a killjoy, as a friend. Wearing a jacket that was gifted to you, probably by an older 'joy, or a mentor, a friend, means they're dear to you in some way. You would die with their work, their name on you. It's wearing their heart on your sleeve right beside your own. Gifting a jacket to someone means you want that. It recognizes them as a killjoy, as a part of your story, and you of theirs, now.

A killjoy's jacket is a book, its both your shield and sword, its a legacy, and it can be a gravestone, or a curse, or a promise. Its you.

☆ in high school, before he could ever admit his feelings for you (because that would be so lame and not hardcore), he would use teasing as a way to talk and flirt with you while still keeping his composure and pride.

it was so close, yet so far out of reach. you strained your calves as your fingers barely brushed the top shelf.

“c’mon!” you quietly groan to yourself, hopping and once again missing the book above you.

a quiet snort can be heard from behind you, causing you to narrow your eyes and turn to the noise. zenix leans on the bookshelf, his hand covering his nose and mouth as looks up through dark lashes at you with a poorly concealed grin. his eyes crinkled and lifted up, and the tenseness in his shoulders gave away that he was really trying not to laugh.

“what? aren’t you gonna help me?” you accuse, pointing a finger in his direction.

he drops his hand, the amused smirk on his lips annoyingly prominent as he crosses his arms and lifts his chin up, another annoying laugh leaving his lips.

“no, i think i’ll just watch from here.”

your eyebrows pinch together and your nose scrunches up in annoyance. with narrowed eyes you look him up and down. what was he even doing in the library?

“whatever, you probably can’t read the title anyways.”

“…what?!” his voice raised in confusion. his little smirk is gone as his jaw drops and his eyebrows furrow.

“besides, i may be short, but that doesn’t make you tall. you’re probably also too short to reach this book.” you continue to taunt, satisfied at the annoyed red hue growing on his cheeks.

“WHAT?!” he exclaims, this time much too loud for the library.

“you two, out of my library now! you’re being way too loud. you’re old enough to know basic manners in a library.” the librarian appears from the end of the aisle, an annoyed look on her tense face as one hand rests sternly on her hip and the other points at the door.

“but, i wasn’t-“

“now!”

you two silently walk out of the library doors, before you turn to zenix with narrowed eyes.

“that’s your fault.”

“huh? no it’s not, you started it!”

“no, you did!”

“no-“ he cuts himself off with an annoyed groan, shoving something in your face rather abruptly.

grabbing on to it, you move it away to see what it was. it was the book you were trying to reach. you look back up at him with a raised eyebrow.

“what?! you said i couldn’t reach it, but i could, easily!”

“but it’s still not checked out, so you stole it.”

“borrowed without asking.”

“well, you still did what i asked you. for someone so much taller and cooler than me you’re pretty gullible, huh?”

his face turns red again, mouth stuttering open before snapping back shut. he narrows his eyes at you before quickly snatching the book up and taking off down the hallway.

“hey! zenix, what the hell!” you take off after him.

“see if your short legs can keep up!”

he landed you two in more trouble soon after for running and yelling in the halls.

☆ sometimes he’d slip up, showing how he really felt about you… in his own, zenix way. 

“your hands are tiny.” he suddenly notes. burnt, red-brown eyes narrow down at your hands.

“huh?” you stretch your hand out in the air. 

zenix’s larger, warmer hand meets yours, palm to palm as he compares the difference. it’s enough for the tips of his fingers to curl a bit over yours, you glance back at him with raised eyebrows. his messy brown hair hangs in his face, but doesn’t hide his softened expression as he concentrated on your hands touching.

he makes eye contact with you, cheeks bursting into flames as he fumbles for an excuse.

“it must be because you’re so short.” he blurts out.

“feeling bold today, zenix?” gene’s voice startles the both of you, your hands both shooting back down to your laps.

“what- i don’t know what you’re talking about!”

☆ as you two get older, it eventually evolves into much more playful banter, and everybody is used to this just being your dynamic.

☆ you don’t get as irritated about it, but zenix still loves making use out of your height difference. 

you two stand in line in the coffee shop, eyes squinting as you read the menu, when you feel the weight of zenix’s arm on top of your head. rolling your eyes, you glance up at zenix with a half-assed glare as he leans on you.

“really?”

he barely spares you a glance from the menu, raising an eyebrow as if he was confused what your problem was.

“what?”

you roll your eyes before looking back up at the menu.

"you're not even that tall."

"i'm taller than you, pipsqueak."

a huff leaves your lips. you stiffen your hand straight, before ramming it quickly into his side. he grunts as he hunches over, his arm leaving your head to clutch his side. he finally shoots a half-assed glare back to you, before moving his arm back up to rest on your shoulder instead. this time you don't complain.

“what are you getting?”

“…caramel macchiato.”

“…yeah, same.”

Words: 744 Chapter 1

Life can be cruel. My name is Kuramoto Sayuri. I remember when I was younger, I was a happy, bright, and optimistic kid. I don't mean to brag, but I was often better than others at many things. After a certain point in time this made other kids see me as competition, and my difficulty in controlling my temper only pushed them further away. I was ostracized and felt very lonely. Throughout elementary school, I was alone. At first, I thought people didn't like me because I excelled at certain things, but as I grew older, I realized that it was my personality and temper that made things worse—that I was the problem. Even at home, I frequently argued and fought with my family. I used to think it was their fault, but as I mentioned before, it was me. My temper was the issue. Once I recognized my mistake, I tried to change by learning to control my anger and focusing on improving myself, but it was too late. The damage was done.

 I remember the day I got my quirk. It was just a regular morning, I was 4 years, 3 months and 7 days old. Did I mention that I have a good memory. I woke got dressed and went to kindergarten, but I was seeing things weirdly. I could suddenly see things I couldn’t before.

Flashback:

“Um, teacher, I think something’s wrong,” I said, rubbing my eyes.

“What is it, sweetheart?” my old kindergarten teacher asked kindly.

“There are weird little things everywhere,” I said, pointing to the air.

“What kind of things?” she asked, bending down to my level.

“Things like these.” I started drawing the atoms and molecules I saw in the air. When I showed her my drawing, she squinted to take a closer look. When she didn’t recognize what it was, she searched it on the internet. As I sat there waiting for her response, her eyes widened in shock. She turned to me and said, “Sweetheart, I think you might have awakened your quirk. This is exciting—I’ll call your parents.”

Seeing my confusion, she added, “You see, everything—including you and me—are made up of different atoms and molecules. They’re far too small for most people to see, but you can see them. They make up everything in the world.”

After school she called my parents to tell them of my quirk awaking. My Parents were quite excited but ultimately confused as to what my quirk was because they were both quirkless. Thats right I was born to two quirkless parents. They took me to the doctor and ran tests turned out that my quirk was a mutation. The doctor determined that my quirk was Subatomic Manipulation. Since my quirk was so related to chemistry, I wanted to learn more about it. So, my parents bought me some beginner chemistry books and urged me to read them, as any kid my age I was super excided to get my quirk and wanted to learn all about it. That is how my love of chemistry began.

End of Flashback

I am currently 13 years old. I may be young, but I understand enough about the world to know this: life is cruel. That phrase was the only thing running through my mind as I watched my parents slowly dying while we waited for help. It was a stupid drunk driver who crashed into their car, killing both of them on impact. My entire life was uprooted, and I had to move to Musutafu to live with my grandmother.

I am currently living in Musutafu with my grandmother. Even now, I remain a loner—the quiet, smart girl without friends. Not a day goes by that I don´t think of killing myself, but I am to sacred to do it. Although my grandmother is kind, it’s not enough to take away the loneliness. There is one classmate I admire; she is amazing, reliable, and well-liked. I want to be just like her. 

While walking home, I see a battle between a hero and a villain, but instead of focusing on the fight, I focus on the crowd cheering for the hero. I start realizing how well-liked heroes are. People rely on them and admire them, just like the kind of person I want to be. That’s it—I will become a hero so people will like me.

I have an incredibly powerful quirk, so it will be easy. From now on, I will train my quirk for combat. A hero school! Which one should I choose? UA is the best, so I should aim for that.

1 year later

The night before the UA entrance exam, In the past year. I have studied chemistry extensively and improved my quirk. Now, I can create energy balls to blast at people (they are really powerful), form shields, and even fly by blasting energy from my hands and legs. I can make other things too, but those are the main abilities I will need for combat.

I try to sleep but I can´t. From the other part of the city, a boy with dark green hair is revising his notebook one last time before going to sleep.

Batfam fic! Tim gets stuck in a year long time loop and gets out, but I'm only interested in the fallout. Here's Jason and Steph discussing it:

Park Row Public library is a short, squat building built like a honey badger in that it’s packed full of personality and only sweet by name. Librarians at the smallest branch of Gotham Public Library take no shit and give even less, but they’re good people. Jason’s people.

Bruce only donates.

He stops in and asks Maddie, the front desk worker, if there are vetted Gotham therapists. Tim might fry Jason's computer for searching on his behalf, but the library will remain untouched.

Maddie looks at him as if he should be ashamed for asking questions he knows the answer to.

It's a short list.

Loudly chewed bubblegum approaches with inaudible footsteps and no presence whatsoever. Weight slings itself over his shoulder at the counter as Steph hooks her chin over his shoulder like an ungainly purple parrot. “Watchya got there?”

“Your mom,” Jason says on instinct. Steph jabs a knuckle into his ribs for the cheap shot, though it gets lost in the leather jacket.

Sue him for the lack of creativity, he wasn't expecting tolerable company.

Jason thanks Maddie and takes his new parasitic growth over to the classics section. Steph shadows him like a dog with a bone. She snags a magazine on the way, one of the current events ones with more text than pictures. Paired with the beat-up armchairs a couple steps from Jason's usual haunt, she's going to outlast his patience.

Sure enough, Steph flops sideways over the arm of one to wait out Jason's post in front of laminated covers and yellow-aged textblocks.

At least she's honest about her lurking.

The rest of the menagerie would sulk outside like stalkers.

Speaking of-

“Fucking hell,” Jason sighs through his teeth at the shelves of cracked paperbacks and literary analysis. “Just ask about him already.”

“Nah, seems to me you got it covered.”

Jason half-turns to level the gremlin a disbelieving look. Steph crosses her purple docs over the chair arm and blows a bubble at him.

“Bullshit,” he says.

Steph tellingly doesn't argue, but she's glaring at the magazine instead of actually reading it. “I don't care. Just, tell someone if you lose track of him?”

Red flags start rising in Jason's mind. Still, he keeps paging through an insultingly poorly informed essay on Mr. Darcy’s land management praxis. Steph would ask that if she had attempted to watch him and messed it up spectacularly. Paired with Tim’s mental state, it paints a vague picture in his mind.

“What'd Replacement do to piss you off?”

Steph is too good to freeze, but there's a little to much force in her gum chewing. “Nothing anyone needs to worry about.”

Jason shrugs and lets her be. Maybe one of the others would push, but this family is already too nosey without him adding trouble. It's part of what he likes about Steph - they don't push each other like that.

She follows when he checks out a book - more to keep numbers up at the library than to read it, but who knows. Watching Tim eat his own misery might get boring.

“Do I need to worry about Cass showing up to kick his ass?” Jason asks once they're outside, taking a meandering path towards the apartment.

“Nah.”

“You're giving mixed signals, Narrows. I don't care what happened, so just… do I, or do I not need to brace for impact, here?”

“No worries, for real. Dick and I tried to keep close tabs on him for a bit but stepped on a bit of an emotional landmine in the process.Cass doesn't blame him either, so don't be pissed at him for me,” Steph says, looking anywhere but at him. “S’not his fault.”

“Sounds to me like it was.”

Steph glances at him sidelong. “Thats- look, when we thought B was dead and Dick was running himself into the ground, Damian and I ran nightshift with him. Tim… didn't stick around.”

“I noticed that part,” Jason drawls, just to be an asshole. Steph rolls her eyes.

“Point is, we pushed and forgot that the last time it was us doing that, Tim’s support network wasn't exactly working. He had every right to tell us to get lost a couple months ago.”

“What?” Jason double checks his mental calendar and finds it wanting. “No?”

“Listen, I know there's two recovery timelines. The one where you're recovered and the one where everyone's patience wears out and they want you to be recovered, which usually happens first, burns bridges, all the fun stuff-”

“But the time loop was happening,” Jason says.

Steph blinks. “Time loop?”

“Yeah?” Jason hazards.

“What.”

“Time loop. Didn't B-?”

“Didn't say a word, just let us know Tim is compromised.” Steph grinds teeth through her gum for a second. “I'm gonna put glitter on his dryer.”

“Alfred doesn't deserve that.”

“Ah fuck, you're right. Guess he's getting a good ol’ glue trap.”

“What'd you think was happening?”

“Honestly, I figured he had a caffeine overdose, but it kind of figures some mystic nonsense would get him first.” Steph pops another bubble. “What even are our lives, y'know?”

You know that feeling when you finish a piece of media you really enjoyed, whether it be a show or game or book. And now its over and you can never go back and experience it for the first time again.

i think my favourite scene outside of the liz, thiago, joui scene in the last episode, was the bit after they killed the big slug in the asylum. idk the pacing of it was just really cool to me, the drawing in the sludge and losing sanity without realizing. for me it set up this feeling of "you cant trust anything you dont know for certain about" for the entire rest of osnf.

that fucking house btw. i wanted them to leave that house the moment they got gregorio out of that room. i hate that house. i would like for that house to explode.

i want to put Arthur in a shoebox for safe keeping so that he may never get hurt again. Cesar too. Joui as well. and Liz.

ill probably take a week or two to mourn finishing this series before moving onto Desconjuração. which is a very fun word to type. probably will make another post like i did this time to put all my updates in as i watch it.

Same here. Me and my friends hopes the other side mangas will show a bit more ligth in this subject but thats a wait and see for now.

Certainly in canon, things where a lot less stressful I bet. But there are as many perks as theres con with being in the thirds custody so early on. Btw Sonic, me and the others has decided to add an extra few months to the timeline, mostly so we can add some more shenanigans that Kafka and the others go through. But we are also adding another of 9's forgotten experiments thats gonna cause some more trouble the cast really don't need.

Its still in the planning stages though, as we are arguing on what this kaiju should be like and such. We are more then happy to hear suggestions though.

By the end of the months, things start to calm down though. Kafka has started to finally getting some proper control thanks to Soshiro becoming the himbo's personal trainer. Something Soshiro finds as a interesting challenges and also fun due to some of the situations Kafka ends up in. Though even the swordman will winch or even flinch on some of the outcomes and feel sorry for the himbo.

It is also by this time a proper medical examination can be done without anyone being in danger for the most part. They are taking it one step at a time as no medic with sense wants to make Kafka lose what little control he has. This proves to be both a good and bad thing.

Why? Beacuse Kafka ends up having several fainting spells and new life crisis from the findings. Turns out some kaiju bits stays even when Kafka turns back to human form, like the fact he now has both male and female reproductive organs with a fully functioning womb. Much to the himbo's chagrin and the man having to learn a whole new way to keep his neather parts clean with both Mina's and Okonogi's help. And a few other organs or veinworks that are usually seen in kaijus to help with both waste management and blood flow, and yes that includes the tubs/veins that allows Kafka to pee from his nipples. His blood is also still acidic, though at a far lower level then when he is in full kaiju form. Ect ect.

The second month is basically Kafka being both horrified and embarrassed about his new body atomenty. Lucky for Kafka, he quickly learns that he can change things somewhat, though he only dares to do that during his fourth or fifth month after his transformation. By then he has read books on both kaiju and human biology to feel he has a good understanding on how to 'fix' certain aspects of his new body. And feel more secure in his own control to try some small changes first.

This month is also when Kafka has to use all the willpower he has to not give in on certain aspects with his new instincts. From trying to not grom himself in places thats just unnatural for us humans, to fighting against his new territorial instincts until he has approval and a small escort with him for safety reasons. And much more then that. At least noone in at the base has to deal with small kaijus trying to sneak in anymore after that. And what kaijus they have in holding are suddenly a lot calmer now that they can smell the scent of a very powerful kaiju nearby.

Kafka also learns how to use his electric like powers to become a walking tazer, as some of the scientists seems not understand what personal space means nor that they are just asking for trouble. Noone blames him for it, and Mina always have a good deal of proof on hand to make sure noone uses these 'incidents' as a way to prove Kafka is nothing but an animale now.

Isao also makes weekly or at least bi-weekly visit to the third to watch how Kafka has progressed. Not to mention seeing some of the tests that are done at one of the exame sites due to safety reasons.

Bakko also becomes a surprsingly good sparring partner for Kafka. Both himbo and tiger honestly has a good time as well, though Kafka also likes the sparring matches he has with Soshiro and other officers who wants to try. Though for now only those of platoon and up is allowed to challenge Kafka.

I can definitely see Kafka's horrified face when he learns about those biological changes. He's no doubt the type who helped Mina and other female friends with that time of the month. Something he's afraid he might experience or worse, lol.

It wasn't until I left my ex that I realized how much of me he had taken away. How much I had to go back out and find again. To piece back together.

I used to read. Voraciously. I read through GoT in a couple days in preparation for the show. Then I read the rest of the series. And I was always looking for more to read. I have a mini library of books I've had since before HS that I've added to over the years.

But I couldn't read at home. Not anymore.

Because every time I did. Every. Time. He would come over to talk. He could be stone cold silent watching TV but as soon as I had a book in my hand it was like a beacon. He had to interrupt me.

I remember once I was home early and realized I had just enough time to read a chapter before he'd get home. I felt rushed, but at least I was reading. I grit my teeth when I heard his truck pull up and I was SO CLOSE to finishing the chapter.

He came home. I said hi and then he went on about work as usual. Right into it. I had a couple paragraphs. Thats it. One or two minutes and I'd be done. But I listened to what he had to say, interacted, and waited for him to be done and around the corner before lifting my book back up.

He came back around the corner and started talking again. Like some kind of Spidey sense.

So I listened. And engaged. And he walked off. So I picked up my book again.

You'll never guess what happened next.

I finally had to tell him "look I'm at the end of the chapter can I just finish this?"

He literally stood there and STARED at me while I read to the end. Looming. Waiting. Watching. I couldn't even fucking focus because I could FEEL his eyes boring into me with this expectant "hurry up, then" aura.

So I finished (sort of. Id later have to reread the end of the chapter) and then he went right back into his diatribe.

Never asked me how my day was, mind you. He had to learn to do that in couples counseling. And even then he never actually wanted a reply. It was done by rote to get the question out of the way so he can talk about what's *really* important.

So I stopped reading.

And I stopped talking about my day.

I stopped going out because any time I wanted to, he would bitch and moan. I had to drag him with me like a reluctant toddler. Even when it was to something right up his alley.

I started just planning things without him, but I would often get a sinking feeling in my chest when I remembered my partner chose not to be here. Chose to watch TV instead of spending time with me. Chose something he found more important. Which was anything but me. When I told him I planned to go somewhere, he never once accepted going with me. Told me "ok" in the most uninterested tone possible.

So I stopped going out for the most part.

(Which was great when he threw in my face that he "missed when we did things on the weekends" during one of our "is this over?" talks. Like... What? Also he could have tried planning something????)

I've been single for getting close to two years now and I've read over 20 books this year so far. I've gone to festivals and events or just the park or the beach or wherever whenever I wanted without feeling like I'm dragging someone along with me (the dog LOVES going out with me 😄).

I can eat what I want without his picky tastes limiting me to burgers or pizza. If I make something at home, I can enjoy it all for myself without going through the trouble only to get an "it's fine" as the highest possible praise. And I wash the dishes as I go rather than his method of letting them fester in the sink for days until I say something or just do it myself.

He didn't start off this way. And counseling clawed back a bit of this. But not much. Not enough.

I didn't even really realize how much I had given up while it was happening. It was the frog in a pot. I let go of a thing here or there for the sake of his comfort. For trying to work around his wants.

It's not like I went "he's the reason I don't read anymore." I just... "Didn't have time"

I didn't think "he never lets me leave the house" I just... didn't feel like going out anymore.

He didn't force my hand. He took away my will to use it.

Little by little.

Piece by piece.

We all compromise for our partners. But there's a difference between agreeing on who does what chores or what movie to see vs. giving up things that make you happy because of them.

Your partner is supposed to be your life raft when you need one. Not your anchor.

I'm sad I put so much of myself into "us" when he was perfectly happy to take from that pot without putting anything back into it. Not without me "nagging" or a counselor telling him to and always begrudgingly. Or with expectation of immediate reward for his (lackluster) efforts

But ya I really like the ice cream back cover and I like some of the pics from the cd that I've seen. Some of those could maybe be better cover choices though. My sister pointed out that why was she wearing the same shirt from the sunrise cover on the back of the pink cover too..like the outfits don't match and I'm sorry..but it bothers me now! Other than that, yes I'm excited! I will admit that 1989 is not one of my fav albums. Sometimes the songs just blend together and one of the eras I felt kinda disconnected to her at the time and my old friends always hated her. I never stopped loving her but she kinda became like the popular girl and I couldn't relate to that even though I was also hanging out with my friends a lot during that time..but by reputation I was fully back in and also by that time all my friends had left me lol..so weirdly it did kinda like up with my life actually..which is why I'll forever love Taylor haha. Thats so cute..I think I found the Teardrops MV on someone's Myspace actually lol! I knew Our Song and maybe some of her other videos but never actually owned the Debut album. Fun.fact..i had the biggest crush on a boy named Drew in high school too..so I really relate to the song and gives me memories of high school. Ooh I connected Is it over Now? To her fame and career actually similar to the Lucky One or Nothing New but I didn't think of the slut connection! But I also saw a lot of people say is it over Now is probably a relationship..and as a closer, maybe it's actually pretty similar to Clean and that's my favorite song on the album so I'm kinda excited for that one now too. Also..I have never been out of the country so I think it's so cool that you came here from Hong Kong! I can't imagine what that would be like.

My favorite show was probably Wicked..cuz that was the first show I ever saw..and I had a lot of excitement for it. I didn't know the whole story and seeing the costumes and sets was also cool. Rent was another favorite, which I think I told you. I also got to see Darren Criss in Hedwig as the second show I saw. I liked Into the Woods cuz I got to see Gavin Creel and Stephanie J Block and her husband. I saw CATS and Lucky enough to be 2nd row and see the makeup and costumes up close and it was my 1st show back since the pandemic..so it made me really excited. I got to see HP and the Cursed Child and I never saw a play before but it wouldn't be my fav cuz it didn't have any songs..but still liked some music. Hadestown was cool cuz it's all singing and the effects and i wasn't as familiar with it either. It would be so cool to see that show without knowing anything about it beforehand.. Dear Evan Hansen is one of my fav shows as well and that was the last show I saw. But i never got to see Waitress or Hamilton and those would have been favorites probably. I'm still hoping for Les Mis next month too. What about you? How many shows have you seen overall or estimated?

Ya it didn't feel like that much..obviously they added the two songs and maybe a few 5 minute scenes..idk. I am excited to watch Theater Camp later tonight. How was it? For the books, it was a book called the Unfortunate side effects of Heartbreak and Magic..I just read the synopsis but it was a book about witches so that's why I considered it. The other one was called Running Past Dark and it was kinda a mystery and what happened to her twin sister. I read a snippet of it but was unsure cuz I think both of these books just came out too so idk. But that one seemed kinda similar to another book called Whistleblower that's on my list..I think I picked it for orange cover. It's just a maybe at this point though. wicked is SO fun live!!! the costumes and the set and choreo is just so good, it's just a show and i hope the movie will be similarly impressive. i don't know if i told you that i've never seen rent — i was supposed to see the ... 20th anniversary tour a few years ago when they were in seattle but also had bronchitis back then (funnily enough, wicked was also here that summer and i also had to miss seeing wicked that time around). i'm so so jealous you saw gavin creel, SJB and seb arcelus in into the woods — i wanted to see into the woods so badly </3 i've been very lucky to see a lot of shows but i've also seen a lot of things repeatedly so my number is pretty high! i think my favorite show i've ever seen live is either: hadestown, newsies (first show on broadway, very sentimental to me), marie dancing still, waitress, or come from away but i think i also have a lot of very fond memories associated with specific shows/performances — like i met one of my best friends at oklahoma!

i really enjoyed theatre camp! it was like, everything i love and hate about theatre people and i will admit that i cried a bit at the end!!! but i do cry at everything! i love molly gordon <3333 and noah galvin is very, very talented. did you like it? what did you think of it? and ooh! you'll have to let me know how those books are! i haven't been reading much lately but i have been watching some tv!! i finally watched season 2 of heartstopper, and then finished watching why didn't they ask evans? (i watched the first ep and then never finished but finished last night)! i'm almost done with my audiobook though, and then hopefully i'll feel up to reading something soooonish.

what are some in general tips you have for a person is not/put together?

Hi love! Congrats on entering this new, exciting chapter of life (and legal adulthood). Here are some of my general tips for living a more put-together life: 

Create Bookend Routines: While most people obsess over morning and night routines, I’ve found the most important rituals to be the ones I do right before and after my biggest tasks of the day. So, for you, this probably will be work or school. Consider how you start your day or prime yourself for these activities (if in the afternoon). Set up a couple of habits that can you in the right headspace – a nice cup of coffee and a hearty, healthy meal, listening to some upbeat music, journaling for 5-30 minutes, and creating a to-do list. Then, create a wind-down routine to signal the end of the productive portion of your day (or at least classes or work instead of small homework assignments or a side hobby). I like to take a long walk while listening great playlist to signal the end of my workday. Also, try adding a relaxing shower, another satisfying meal, and doing some shadow work or reading a book afterward to ease into your evening. 

Decide On Your Current Focus Areas In Life: Pick one or two life arenas that you want to truly focus on at the moment and strategize daily to cultivate habits to work towards your goals in the areas. Make sure to maintain the other areas of your life for balance, but forgive yourself if you don’t put 100% of your desired effort into these areas for a season or two of your life. Priorities are essential for achievement, avoiding burnout, and mental stability. 

Give Yourself 1-3 Top Priorities Daily: Complete this one large task or a few smaller to-do list items and errands to feel accomplished daily. This method allows you to do what you need to get done and feel productive without driving yourself crazy about doing everything at once. List out everything you anticipate needing to do the following week on a Sunday. Itemize it by area of life, work or school task, or errand/appointment, and assign it to a day of the week.

Discover Your Simple Pleasures: Whether it’s a favorite coffee, snack, or a ritual like getting your nails done or watching a certain TV show, it’s important to find what activities give you true joy and pleasure. Reward yourself daily with at least one small indulgence – even if it’s just a hot 10-minute shower. These activities will give you the mental stamina to keep going and enjoy your life (which is essential – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!). 

Allow Yourself Time and Space To Discover Your Interests & Passions: Allocate 10-30 minutes a day to learn more about yourself – whether it’s scrolling on social media for inspiration, reading about a topic of interest, or engaging in an energizing activity. Learn what you love. This skill can only help you and allow you to feel fulfilled as life responsibilities continue to pile on over the years.

how i (personally) pirate things. this is by no means a great extensive perfect guide, ill just give you the process of how i go about it. and if you’re in a country where they monitor your internet usage, consider getting a good vpn! always helps. also if anyone wants to add their personal resources, PLEASE DO!!! you’re encouraged to do so!!!

not much to do with the pirating itself, but i download most of the stuff i watch/read/listen. sometimes websites get deleted and links go bad, but files are forever! consider getting a usb/external disk for your stuff. it was one of my first investments as an adult. got a 1 TB disk 5 years ago and im not even halfway through filling it. so most of the sites listed here are for downloads. sorry if you prefer streaming stuff.

in the same subject, get VLC media player. it’s a great media player that works with a bunch of file formats AND you can add subtitle/cc files for the stuff you watch. more on that later.

and for the love of fucking god GET MOZILLA. i swear to God, if you only use chrome it will change your browsing experience. it's just a better experience, no tracking, uses less space, has a bunch of useful add ons to help with browsing security. for a search engine i use startpage. it's just Google without blocking pages and tracking. life-changing

to the actual pirating. first step if you want to WATCH stuff:

AND also, keep in mind that if you can’t find something here, i suggest you go to a non-google browser, and simply type out what you want + “watch/download free”. of course you should get an ad block (i recommend ublock) and learn how to recognized fake links, but that’s just practise. most of the time you’ll find a random website that has what you’re looking for.

torrent:

- for movies, i usually turn to yts/yify movies. this is the latinamerican site but im sure it’s available almost everywhere. quite good catalogue, not that complete, but yknow. its good. any time you download a torrent file, make sure the file is .torrent, and that the thing you’re downloading is in the right format (mp4, mp3, mkv, etc. don’t open.exe files from places that aren’t trustworthy lol)

- torrent is IN MY OPINION one of the best ways to download media in general. i use it mostly for movies, tv shows and games. my go to torrent client is deluge because it doesn’t use much space and it’s fairly easy to use. here’s a tutorial, for you to learn how to use it. not difficult at all

- for subtitles /ccs, i go to yts-subs. bunch of subtitles in all languages. or simply check out opensubtitles, my oldest friend

- for tv shows it gets tricky, because i had a website i used before but its gone now :( so i turned to limetorrents. you can find it if you search for it. has a bunch of other stuff but i only use it when i have nowhere to turn to lmao. but upadates quite quickly, so. just make sure the uploader seems constant and trustworthy, which you can check in their profile.

non torrent stuff:

- for pc games: igggames hasn’t failed me yet. they update their links quite often

- for books: z-library (latine link, but just look it up! should show up). and my recent ally, vk. you should all love vk. vk is my fucking best friend. just look up [book name] + vk and it should show up.

- for audiobooks: vk! my good friend. i’d suggest you make an account and then check out this profile. or simply google [book] +  audiobook + vk. something will pop up. audio files can only be streamed on the website, but fear not, there is also mobilism, which also has some other content, though i use it mostly for audiobooks. you’ll have to make an account but thats fine. you can download the files in there.

- for anime: i don’t watch a lot of anime tbh, but you can find subtitled anime here

- for premium apps: here’s my trusty spotify premium link. but mobilism has links for android and ios  apps as well! i have a friend who uses it and says the links check out, so!

- for music: how old are you? just download stuff from youtube with a youtube to mp3 converted. jeez.

BRIDGERTON S2 REVIEW WITH SPOILERS (and comparisons to the book)

bridgerton s2 was lovely! I to be honest dont know where to start. though i guess i should start with the obviouse stars of the show.

The chemistry of Simone and Jonathan is impeccable and I could not ask for a better casting.

Kate and Anthony's plot were well thought out in my opinion, and I loved the gutwrenching-ly good slowburn the show delivered. The lines were very well written, and I'm grateful that they chose to make them fall in love with each other naturally and in their own pace rather than the rushed feel in the books. I like that they weren't verbatim FORCED TO MARRY BECAUSE OF A BEE! but still incorporated that fear of Anthony's without making it a huge phobia of the bees itself rather than his own fear of the memories of his father's death, losing his father, and what his family especially his mama and him had to go through.

though to be honest, i also quite liked the book's version where Eloise was the one to have witnessed her father's death, i feel as though it would make her relate much more with Sir Crane (IF her love plot would follow the books).

back to Kate, the one thing I really wished they would've put in the show is Kate's fear of storms. I loved that Anthony's irrational fear of bees were dimmed, and I know it would've added to mere subplot in the show, but I think Kate's fear of storms and the story of her biological mama's death would've bonded them more rather than just their lust for each other in the beginning, for example, the library scene in the book i think is better than the one in the show.

The ending felt rather anticlimactic to me, and i truly don't know why. I don't know if it's just me, i dont know if it's because i set up too high of an expection for a grand ending, of course i'm happy for them, and i still love the ending, but i dont know why i cant help but feel like they couldve done better? OR IDK MAYBE IM JUST A SUCKER FOR WEDDING SCENES IN MOVIES AND SHOWS AND WAS A BIT DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY DIDNT SHOW IT? thats probably it

Eloise's plot this season was chef's kiss! And I don't have much to say about her character and the comparisons in the books.

I at first, was shocked to watch that in the show Edwina actually fell in love with THEE Lord Bridgerton, because in the book she just felt kinda burdened and (i feel that she feels) uncomfortable with the whole trying to find a spouse who'd be able to support mama and Kate too; plus it was really obvious to her in the book that Kate and Anthony were smitten by one another.

I do like that Edwina, in the show is sure and strongheaded in what she believes in and wants for herself, even if in the beginning it might not seem that way.

The Featherington's subplot about the mines etc, PLUS THE WEIRD THING GOING ON WITH LADY FEATHERINGTON AND THE NEW LORD FEATHERINGTON is kinda weird and uneccesary me thinks, but idk maybe it's because i dont really care for them except for Penelope.

Penelope's plot this season was meh, but that's because I suspect she'll have a more bigger role in S3 or even have the third season be for her and Colin (since we did find out that Shonda said she would not go in order according to the books, and we were left by that cliffhanger of Colin saying he would never court Penelope which is not much of a cliffhanger should you want to read the books) Also, i really dont like how she was selfish enough to keep Eloise from meeting Theo, like I know she was trying to protect herself, but SHE LITERALLY could've gone to another print shop LIKE PAYING A BIT MORE AND MOVING, IN THE SAME TIME AS TO NOT HURT YOUR BEST FRIEND'S FEELINGS OR EXPOSE UNWANTED SECRETS IS WORTH IT DANGIT, and Eloise and Theo could enjoy each other's companies much longer.

Colin's a dumbass. A literal dumbass. Everytime i see his face and the decision he makes i just go "dumbass..." I literally do not hate him, but you get it right? like? right?

Benedict's plot for me was also meh, though I do not wish for the showrunners to make him a drug addict please! ISTG it wont add any substance to his character

Im far more interested in Francesca's plot and how they're going to manage to mend it in the third season.

Gregory and Hyacinth always cute as ever, and I LOVED that exchange between Gregory and Anthony, also that ball scene of the Sharmas and Bridgertons dancing together!!

Daphne's role wasnt that significant in this season but that's to be expected, but I loved how even if she is younger than Anthony by age, she knows more in terms of emotional intelligence than him (even if all the Bridgertons seem to share one single brain cell :))

The Queen's plot is also interesting. I can see how she loves The King so, but is so sad and heartbroken by him at the same time and how she wishes to be able to repeat time just to seep in the good old days with His Majesty.

ALSO LADY BRIDGERTON?? LIKE I EXPECTED MORE FROM YOU GIRL!! But then again, i think it kinda made sense for her not to push so much since in the beginning of S2, she pushed and Anthony just kept being more aggravated at her, but like idk i guess i just kinda missed how she pushed Daphne, bcs come on, a mother's feelings are never wrong.

Lady Danbury's always-meddling and never-minding-her-own-business is great although sometimes annoying, I can see why it's definitely of use.

I DEFINITELY LOVED the fact that in the show, they clearly chose to marry each other because THEY DO love each other and are brave enough to declare so.

SONG CHOICES THIS SEASON WERE QUESTIONABLE?? WHY HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE BY CALVIN HARRIS? WHY NOT LITERALLY ANY OTHER SONG IN THIS WORLD. i liked the song choices in S1 better tbh.

LETS GIVE A HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THE CREW! I HAVE TO GIVE THEM A SPECTACULAR APPRECIATION FOR THEIR ATTENTION TO DETAIL, AND DEDICATION TO MAKE THIS SEASON THE SHT! especially the writers pls :,) i thought the i burn for you scene in s1 was pheww, but there are 3 scenes in s2 that just melted my being away, which were the HONOR line scene, CONSUME MY VERY BEING - LILIES scene, and last but not least the YOU MUST FEEL IT, BECAUSE I DO line scene.

Overall even with room for improvement for the next season, or things they could've done better (for me) this season was wonderful, and im always a sucker for a good enemies to lovers plot <3

I think I found my most hated genre of fics under the Daemon and Rhaenyra tag in a03 with any Aemond/Lucerys kind of fics and any Aemond/OC fics but no. I believe I found something I cannot stomach, in a completely different way, but still makes me wanna hurl. Fics where they basically redeem Aegon the Usurper and make it so that he becomes King without fault. Yo, I cannot stomach this. Baby Aegon Cheeks and Viserys not being King? Targs with Hightower Blood continuing the main Targ Line? g (ad (a) Im biased, I know, but man can I not stand the blood of otto and alicent remaining on the throne no matter the circumstances even if the author makes Aegon TuTu into a saint thats

Yes. I do believe that the fic was from redactedhejdbnsjsjsj. Believe me, I reread Blacks & Greens like a hundred times before I caved and started browsing the Daemon and Rhaenyra tag on ao3🥹😢😥. I did not actually fully watch the show if u can believe me WHAHAHAHAH. Too painful. But based on the occasional tiktok i see in my feed (i still seee some sadly in my for you page🫠) I still hate the greens, including aegon da most. I dont care how pathetic everyone in that show is and how out of character everyone is. I will stick to my book morals and forever think automatically that I will hurl if Aegon II becomes King and is the one to continue the line.

But yeah, sadly, theres not a lot of only book canon fics. There are some which are more book canon and only have bits on the show. I click on these the most. But sometimes i get the urge for more content and cant help myself so i still read even though i dont totally understand whhats happening WHAHHAAH. But maybe i should watch the show to see how you came to like Aegon somehow? I dunno know lol WHAHHAHAHA

My Favourite Episodes of House of the Dragon Season 1

(After a bit of time and some rewatches i wanted to do my personal ranking of the episodes there will be critic don't like dont read also daemon is my favourite character of course it influenced the ranking)

1. 7 Driftmark

I love the pacing in this episode it is so quiet and calming until the moment it escalates. In terms of music it's also the best episode for me so many great music pieces. The tension in the dagger scene is so high and the dialouge is so good. It's the episode after that you know there is no peace possible.

Favourite scenes are the wedding and the beach scene with daemon and rhaenyra. They are finally together and it's just beautiful.

2. 8 Lord of the Tides

Very close to episodes 7 and a good follow up to it. Sad about the time jump because i would have liked to see more of daemons and rhaenyras life on dragonstone. But seeing theese two together with their family is just beautiful. A big contrast to alicents family who all seem to dislike each other (except aemond who cares about his sister)

Favourite scene is viserys entrance in the throne room and daemon helping him up the stairs. Makes me cry everytime i watch it. Oh and the beheading is just purely daemon at his best.

3. 4 King of the Narrow Sea

Another rather calm episode who solved a part of the story that the book does not really answer. Daemons and rhaenyras choices in this episode set up the course for the rest of the season. It also shows that they have a cemistry that can't be denied. It highlights the diffrence between alicent who is dutiful and misserable but endures it because she believes it is the only way and rhaenyra who breaks the boundaries at any choice she is given.

Favorite scenes daemons and rhaenyras talk in the garden and daemons and viserys confrontation in the throneroom.

4. 3 Second of his Name

Only so high up because i love every scene in the stepstones. The beginning with daemon and caraxes (dragon attack hell yeah). And the ending scene with daemons suiccide mission. The soundtrack in this scene is the best in the show so far it's just haunting in the beginning and turns in the best battle soundtrack i heard since lord of the rings. The bells in the end are so beautiful. And i just love action scenes.

5. 1 Heirs of the Dragon

I love the pilot and i still think it's one of the most important episodes. Because you get introduced into the time and world which is quiet diffrent from thrones. Every character is introduced very good.

Favourite scene: The Tourney (without the birthing scene of course) the best tourney scene on tv jet.

6. 10 The Black Queen

I don't think it's the worst episode but it could be so much better if it would not feel so rushed. A lot of important things happen and all the deleted scenes would have added far more depth to it (I dont talk just about daemons cut scenes, there was one with baela and rhaenys and rhaenyra and jace.)

Favorite scene is rhaenyras coronation and daemon singing to vermithor.

7. 5 We light the way

My main issue is the dead of rhea royce. Not that i dont think that daemon would have done it but it happened earlier in the book and even in westeros there are accidents that are just that. But i guess that would have been too boring. I also did not need to see it rhaenys telling viserys would have been enough (We have all imagination.) Confirming it later in daemons conversation with her uncle would have been better for me. I mean rhea and daemon dont even have a real conversation. The wedding is a grand affair and the soundtrack and costumes are stunning. The other issue is christon murdering joffrey and getting away with it. How can that be? The driftmark set design is very beautiful. I like corlys and rhaenys relationship.

Favorite scene is daemons entrance at the wedding and his and rhaenyras scene on the dancefloor.

8. 2 The Rouge Prince

A good episode but thats it for me. Dagonstone gets introduced which is my favourite location. I like that they did not go for the mysaria miscarriage storyline. The burner is of course that viserys marrys alicent.

9. 6 The Princess and the Queen

One of the worst for me. Rhaenyra has to show the baby after giving birth. Her kids get attacked by alicents on christons order(why is he still alive?). Who is allowed training rhaenyras kids even if he hates her now(because she rejected him?). Laenas and harwins characters are completly butchered. And daemon is depressive in pentos and is not allowed to hug his kids. Oh and Rhaenyra is not on dragonstone in the first place as she should be because itvis the tradition for targaryen heirs. They set up rhaenyra in the first episodes as a girl who is afraid of childbirth and didn't want to have that many kids in the first place and that completly backfires here because there is no explanation why she has three. (Except of course that the children play a huge part in the book later.)

10. 9 The green Council

This episode was just so boring to me. It should not be because it is a key episode with the greens ursurping the throne. The whole storyline of finding aegon is so unneccesarry. An rhaenys comming through the floor is a nice moment at first but the consequences of her action are so grave. She could have ended things here but that's not how the story goes and that makes the whole scene stupid. Aegons character has no agenda at all the made him a raper and worse. Was it so hard to give him a bit from his book counterpart? He at least wanted the crown after being convinced. And giving alicent an excuse for all this because she interpreted viserys last words wrong? She is a bitch in that part of the book let her be one. And last bot not least the food scene that was just disgusting.

As resume i enjoed the show very much which i did not expect in the first place. But i can say that the first half of the season was better written than the second half. As someone who is over 25 years old and has seen a lot of tv shows and movies it worries me what the writers of some tv shows today are thinking. I myself want to see a good book adaptation who is open for changes if they make sense and are true to the book. I don't want to see the themes of the current time in a fantasy tv show. Tv shows are an escape from reality not a mirror of it.
