Annabelle Pham was born in San Jose, California and raised in an Asian immigrant household in Daly City. Growing up working class, her parents encouraged her to pursue her education while also helping raise her sickly younger brother, RJ. Playing softball and being a bit of a rebel, despite her shortcomings, Annabelle had the opportunity to attend an Ivy league college on a partial scholarship, which she rejected after her father's restaurant, Saigon Corner was vandalized and robbed.

Rather than use the money saved on her for school, she pushed her family to use it to repair their restaurant. Annabelle would choose to attend a 2 year college in a CTE program since it was more affordable, working part time in her family's restaurant while she searched for new employment.

While job searching, she became curious about the recruiters office in her neighborhood, and next thing she knew, she was in the army (much to her mother and father's disappointment.) She'd join up anyway, prompting her parents to disown her- despite the money she'd send regularly.

Anna's time in basic training had her confronted with many forms of discrimination- mostly for her small stature and sex. And in spite of these, she persisted. She would be deployed to Urzikstan in 2019.

At some point, a then Corporal, close to be promoted Annabelle Pham would meet CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell while fighting alongside SAC/SOG officer Alex Keller. Impressed by the young woman's resolve and improvisation, Laswell would choose Anna as one of the women she'd first suggest to join Taskforce 141 to John Price in the future. While hiding from enemy forces who'd kidnapped her in a foreign city, Annabelle's quick thinking kept her alive while her teammates were delayed on their rescue.

Facing dishonorable discharge after her outburst against her superior, Colonel Norris after the United States declared the ULF a terrorist group, Laswell would pull strings to void this and in the meantime, had her employed under the military contractors known as the Shadow Company, with a recommendation to General Shepard that put her right in the attention of Commander Phillip Graves. While they initially clashed, her personality and morale boosting quips eventually grew on him, and she became a favored member of the organization. At some point Anna's simple workplace crush would be stretched into something more, with Graves offering her a more lucrative role in the company, only for Anna to answer Laswell's call to join Taskforce 141.

Anna gained her callsign "Gremlin" from her unpredictable and unhinged behavior, christened by her fellow Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick. Hiding in walls, crawling in vents and ambushing enemies easily thanks to her small stature and the old fashioned element of surprise and a knack for destroying enemy equipment and radios.

Anna's first mission in the Taskforce had her reunite with Sergeant Garrick, meeting Captain Price for the first time and Captain Dhingra after an incident in Sakhra involving the Urzikstan Continental Hotel and several ambassadors held hostage. After a tricky maneuver saving the ambassador of Adal and France, Anna would find purpose in the taskforce and would eagerly join up any mission offered to her by her new comrades. She and Sergeant Garrick would make an inside joke of refusing to discuss "what happened in the Urzikstan Contintental."

With zeal, a "do it first, think later" attitude and an unwavering loyalty to those she cared for, Anna's clever thinking on the battlefield is only hindered by her emotional responses. After a heartbreaking betrayal from Phillip Graves in Las Almas and learning of his "demise", Anna would fail her mental health evaluation, and fall into a depression. Her last mission under the 141 would be under the secretive mission, "Operation Kingslayer", where she was tasked to rescue her friend and collegue Sergeant Major Hannah "Sparrow" Clayton after being captured by the Bolivian cartel. During this mission, unbeknownst to her, she'd become pregnant with the child of a newfound love- a neighbor named Peter Choi that her not so dead ex Phillip Graves had (without her knowledge) deported before revealing he was alive and attempted to recruit her into the Shadow Company.

It wouldn't be until after her son, Sylas Thomas "Tommy" Pham was born that Phillip would convince her to work for him- insisting he could provide for her and his son. Anna would be isolated from her old teammates and friends, Phillip grooming her to become his second in command while he made it seem like she had no other option.

By the time her fellow members of the 141 would see her again in the fall of 2023, she'd already be in the employment of the Shadow Company as Phillip Graves' second in command, the colloquial "Queen of Hearts" who seemed to be a shell of the once vibrant person she was before. During this time, isolated from her friends and mostly reliant on the man adamant on keeping her close, there was only one person Phillip trusted around his investment- his best friend and CIA operative, Karlos Martinez. Not only would Karlos help Anna see the authority and power Graves had bestowed upon her, but he would also vow to help Anna secure her place in the company...Even if it meant betraying Phillip Graves in an unforgiveable way.

While Phillip tries to secure himself a place in the United States political landscape, Anna does the dirty work as Commander, only beginning to recognize the woman in the mirror again...Even if she isn't smiling anymore.

After almost a decade of service multiple of his medical issues from childhood were finally diagnosed leaving him with a medical discharge and Azrael being the person he is definitely doesn't accept that as the end of his military career applying to Shadow Company intent on proving his abilities and keeping up his work.

Azrael is almost always found wearing as much covering clothing as possible almost never found without his neck gaiter on to cover the scars that mar the skin on his face and neck a painful reminder of captivity he's determined to keep hidden.(Though Graves and the other Shadows eventually coax him into opening up and wearing it less often)

Personality: Azrael is known for being extremely closed off keeping strong walls around himself to keep others out and away from his emotions and vulnerabilities. it's a major surprise to most to find that his old friends describe younger Azrael from before he was captured as cheery, sweet, and, extremely empathetic many don't exactly believe it considering most see him as cold and unfeeling, even if he does truly care for those around him just from behind his walls where he believes himself to be safer.

Ashton, with the help of a friend in high places, fakes his death, disappearing to work with Shadow Company on American soil where he's less likely to be discovered, and he still has opportunities to take out the men he's been searching for.

Personality: Ashton is known for being fiery, confident, and extroverted, often found chatting with the other shadows, happily helping out with what he can where he can without complaint.

All goes well for Vance for the most part the shadows do their jobs damn well and he's endlessly proud of his and Graves' men he's expecting things to go as usual as he's sent out in the convoy with the missiles only to find himself very wrong watching as his men are slaughtered he plays dead knowing damn well they have him outnumbered he's determined to make it back to Graves he waits out the soldiers as they collect the missiles keeping still even as the fire in the car licks at his skin immediately putting himself out and scrambling for a radio as the sounds of cars fade out he finds himself lucky as he's able to contact Graves ULF being able to send a small rescue team despite Shepards refusal to attempt proper rescue saving Vance's life leaving him in the hospital to recover during Las Almas returning to work as soon as he's cleared

Personality: Vance is known for being fiercely loyal to Shadow Company it's commander especially taking care of Graves and the shadows diligently making sure everyone is taken care of and not neglecting themselves his usual calm but happy demeanor soothing to those around him though that's definitely not saying he's not short tempered especially when it comes to defending Graves though the shadows often tease him for it prodding the man about having a crush despite Vance vehemently denying it.

Arlo is extremely dedicated to his work and loyal to Graves. the two had gotten along well since he joined Shadow company, though only a few years into his time with them through what he'd thought were harmless hookups to blow off steam, they had managed to get pregnant despite their infertility, despite the bad timing and circumstances, Arlo is understandably ecstatic having wanted kids of his own. though, due to the high-risk nature of her pregnancy, Arlo finds themselves on bed rest though Graves refuses to let him be alone considering, Arlo is single with no family, leaving him and Vance insistant on helping out and make sure he's cared for. he ends up having his daughter, Evie, with only mino8 complications, being age 8 as of the events of MW2 and 11 as of MW3.

Arlo does eventually defect from Shadow Company, joining up for 141 after the events of Las Almas. Despite the guilt he feels abandoning Graves, the young man couldn't cope with continuing to work with them, afraid of events like Las Almas repeating.

Personality: Arlo is known for being extremely sweet and charismatic keeping things running smoothly and arguments to a minimum at least to the best of his ability.

She’s just like her brother of having those cocky attitude. And also have the same mind field goal of getting whatever these two WANTS.

Philip Graves is like an idol for Callie. Always following his footsteps of being the best of the best.

And since Callie heard about her brother dating Anna. She has no grudge against her. Seeing her brother happy makes her happy. And she may have helped her older brother out to know of where his little jewel went whenever or wherever she goes. Spying on her is one of the thing that Graves need.

So how does Anna feel of meeting Callie?

I'm gonna be real? I do not think Callie and Anna would get along.

I think its depending on what version of Anna she meets (Gremlin or Shadow!Anna) Anna is either blindly in love with Graves and is super blind to red flags. If they'd met before she joined the 141 or pre betrayal, I think that is the only time they'd be friends.

Post "death" She's angry at him. Very angry. A person she'd worked with and trusted "died" after betraying her and her friends. The Shadow Company and any associates, his SISTER especially wouldn't be a friend to her. If Callie "knew", Anna would not forgive her.

Shadow!Anna/Queen of Hearts Anna (MW3) is numb. She's deep into his manipulation, but she can't leave even if she knows. They would not be friends. Phillip promised her a good life for her son if she works under him and "keeps" her. By this time she's like a simmering kettle, only a matter of time before the top blows out, and even if she's not angry yet, she's taking it out on anyone below her- Callie included. As Phillip's reluctant second in command they'd clash alot over her authority, and I think she would only see Callie as another extension of Phillip.

By the time 2024 rolls around, Anna is already a seasoned leader for the SC, with a reputation for flying off the hinges and she is CONSTANTLY talking down to Phillip since shes both "doing the dirty work" for him. Depending on Canon or ACES, in ACES Phillip takes a break from the field to work on a political career...And Anna is left to run the Company. There's a general resentment either way, because by now she's like "this is purely contractual, there is no love on my end." And she makes this harshly clear. As "Acting Commander" she's pretty much found her voice as a leader, and by now she is fully aware of what Graves did to keep her around. If she catches Callie snooping in "her business" that girl is having her head repeatedly smashed into the table before she realizes who it even is.

Anna's character has reached a certain level of paranoia and anger towards anything associated with the company. She's "engaged to him" the same way and intern is promised a job.

Anna, as of 2023, can barely stand one Graves, what more another?

Mindfield Project Unclassified - The Start. Pt1

The dimly lit room, a room that Howard knew all too well. It was the room he often found himself inhabiting, even when he wasn’t on shift. Sadly, it was a curse the best of the best had to endure. Quietly, his boots made soft thuds against the dirty floor of the hideout. His mind reeled with who he would encounter on the other side of that rusted, metal door. An enemy? A spy? A close friend? All were possible, some more heartbreaking than most. 

Howard had seen many things in his time in the organization, but he hadn’t seen anything quite like what was hidden behind that door. Anticipation filled his every fiber, causing his muscles to tense as his fingers grazed that cold metal door. With a grunt, the male threw the door open, or… well, more like swung it open. Despite his efforts to push that door, it appeared to be far more rusty than he had remembered. 

Scanning the room, the dimly lit room held a small table covered in tools of Howard’s trade. His eyes slowly moved from the piles of dirt in the corners, to the spider webs along the walls, to the chair… the chair he had seen so many poor, unfortunate souls trapped in. Before his eyes, though, seemed someone who was far more comfortable in that chair than they should be. Narrowing his chestnut eyes, the soldier took in the form before him. 

It was a small male, no shorter than 4’0, but no taller than 4’5. Their long, brown hair looked disheveled and pulled out of its neat bun, their stormy grey eyes seemed to reflect the room, but in a darker light. The poor lighting threw unnatural shadows onto their face, highlighting their scars but hiding their secrets. Those secrets that Howard was tasked with uncovering. There was a tattoo, a stark contrast to the scars on their exposed skin, that piqued Howard’s interest, the Ace of Hearts was tattooed onto their skin. The meaning of this eluded Howard, but he couldn’t let the strangeness of the enigma in front of him change his mind. Howard Bryant never stepped down from a challenge.

The folder in his hands bent under the force of his grip, his eyes stared down at the short soldier in front of him. How could someone so… small be wrapped up in something so horrid? If Howard had to guess, the soldier in front of him looked no older than twenty-one, barely having started to enjoy the throws of life. Far too young to be a Commander already… perhaps there was more to this enigma than meets the eye. Quietly circling the other male, Howard set the folder down on their lap, the large print glistened under the light of the barely working hanging lamp above them. “Tell me about Project Mindfield,” His deep, grave voice said into the small soldier’s ear, eliciting a sharp inhale from them. 

“Where would one even begin to tell the tale?” The small soldier replied, their voice catching Howard off guard. His eyes narrowed slightly as he walked around them again, his boots creating a rhythmic thump on the dirt-covered ground. “I could start with Operation Black-Gate, but that wouldn’t be the start… no, the start is farther back than both of us care to go…, but it’s only fair to start at the beginning…
