miguel o'hara x reader (fluff) - nerdy college miguelito → she/her pronouns!
inspired by this image of him! glasses = smart
He's the sexiest mf with glasses because i said so
So intelligent! As per usual, I see him in an engineering or biochem major. Maybe statistics, or computer science minor. He's a bit of a nerd, the type that is just naturally brilliant; always asking creative questions in class. Babbles to you about his topics as a form of studying/affection; get good grades and keep his partner company.
He seems like the type that can easily learn and reteach information to you. He's a rare case where study dates actually work; you guys get so much work done.
Does that thing where he scrunches his nose to adjust his glasses. "Miguel, you're gonna get wrinkles if you do that." You remark, finishing the last of your Humanities discussion post. "So you do care for me?" Miguel smirks, tapping his pen against the table. "Just saying, you'll look 40 by the time you reach 30."
His Google Calendar is a crowded mess; at least four tasks per day, constant due dates to keep up with, he tries to save time for weekends.
Let's talk fashion! The sweatshirt he has on in the drawing has me on my knees. I'd love him in sweatshirts, straight leg jeans, big black puffer jacket, THOSE HALF-ZIP SWEATSHIRTS SO YOU CAN SEE A LITTLE BIT OF COLLARBONE, compression shirts on lucky days, possibly cargo pants??? Sometimes you guys match fits! If you dress up, he'll understand the assignment.
Carries around a black backpack, just with a laptop and an extra notebook. Hydrates with a HUGE water bottle. Keeps hairties, lip balm, and pain meds around in case you need them. (You do, often.)
College Miggy doesn't seem like the type to participate in Greek Life; he's there to get his education, start a step ahead in his career. Plus, he's too tired to go partying anyway.
It'd be super cute if y'all lived together; a dorm-to-apartment kind of thing. After your relationship's been serious for a while, you move in, sharing a room with Miguel just so you guys can split costs.
Miguel takes early morning classes, I can tell. Greets you on most days with a palm to your stomach, little kisses from behind. He latches onto you for warmth on chillier days, groaning and whining about not wanting to get up in the morning. "Mig, just go to class-" "Mmph, no." Miguel groans, ghosting his lips to the shell of your ear. He shuffles around in the bed, smothering and stealing your body of warmth. "M'cold!" You whine, Miguel's hands sneaking up your shirt.
YOU ARE the passenger princess in this AU, m'kay? (I can't drive-) Miguel, if he is available, will drive you anywhere! Class, mall, farmers market, coffee shop, etc. Ends up just tagging along with you most of the time. You think he's sexy when he's driving (because he is), slots his hand to your upper thigh like it's his birthright.
Most of the time, y'all are in your own little world; no participation in drama, celebrating each other's successes with a trip to a restaurant. Nothing else really matters when you're got both grades and each other to worry about.
Within the rare occasion that you guys share a class, y'all are on the same page. Working together, filling each other in on missing gaps, quizzing each other on tests; its great. Of course, you receive a high A. I feel like he'd be the type to randomly quiz or test you on something in the class. "Prophase vs. Anaphase? You playfully roll your eyes, continuing to stir your coffee.
Where do y'all think he'd work? I'd say paid internship or somewhere tech-y ykwim? He wouldn't really work at a cafe or campus store.
Oh my gosh what if he was rich!!!!! What if he spoils you with good food and well-thought out date nights? Elevating your relationship as a couple <333 WHAT IF HE PAYS YOUR TUITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh best man best man

Silicon Valley technology giants’ stock values fell off a cliff amid a global selloff after President Donald Trump on Wednesday afternoon announced sweeping tariffs expected to boost U.S. prices and ignite trade wars with countries around the world.
The tariff announcement kicked off a breathtaking plunge in the U.S. stock market, and by close of trading Thursday afternoon the prices of Apple and Meta stock had plummeted 9%, and Santa Clara computer chip titan Nvidia was down nearly 8%. Google parent Alphabet and cybersecurity giant Palo Alto Networks slid almost 5%.
Trump announced a minimum tariff of 10% on imports starting April 5, with the tax rate running much higher on products from certain countries such as China, with 34%, Taiwan, with 32%, Vietnam, with 46% and the European Union, with 20%, starting April 9.
“President Trump refuses to let the United States be taken advantage of and believes that tariffs are necessary to ensure fair trade, protect American workers, and reduce the trade deficit — this is an emergency,” the White House said in a fact sheet Wednesday.
For Apple, Meta and Nvidia, the hit was substantially worse than across the major stock indexes, where the Dow Jones tumbled 4%, the S&P 500 sank close to 5% — for its worst day since the pandemic crashed the economy in 2020 — and the tech-heavy Nasdaq dove 6%.
“Trump’s tariffs and instability are wreaking havoc with companies’ stock prices,” said Adam Kovacevich, CEO of tech industry lobby group Chamber of Progress. “It’s causing investors to be nervous, it’s causing businesses to be uncertain about expansion plans, capital, supply chains.”
For Silicon Valley tech giants, the tariffs would significantly disrupt manufacturing and sales of hardware, software and services.
“That’s going to affect their profitability and may force increases in prices, and that may cause lower sales,” said Stanford Law professor Alan Sykes, who studies international trade. “Everybody sees high tariffs as a potential threat to their bottom line.”
Adding to investor worries over Silicon Valley firms is the threat of targeted punitive responses by tariff-hit countries seeking leverage with the Trump administration, Sykes said.
“The big American tech companies are the most profitable global companies we have, so they are the natural targets of retaliation by foreign governments,” Sykes said. Other nations such as China or members of the EU could slam Silicon Valley giants with taxes or hit them with anti-monopoly legal actions to put pressure on the U.S., Sykes said.
“All of these policies that affect the wellbeing of these companies are potentially in play if we have a full-scale trade war,” Sykes said. “If I were another country, and I wanted to exert pressure on the U.S. to change its ways, I’d go after the most influential U.S. companies, and the Silicon Valley companies are among the most influential.”
For this region’s tech giants, the tariffs deliver a smackdown that contrasts with the presence of their CEOs on Trump’s inauguration stage.
“I suspect some of the Silicon Valley supporters of Mr. Trump are having second thoughts,” Sykes said.

What is one lore bit about your characters that you've ALWAYS wanted to share, but no one ever "asked the right question" for you to say it?
Oh gosh I would've been able to answer this a few months back but now I can't remember what I've been itching to share. But I do want to share more about the world behind my robot guys outside of just the robots and how they work. If I've spoken about this topic before in an ask uhh this new ask is retconning anything I said previously
I'm gonna talk about the history of robots here and how the affected the technology of this specific universe. When I say "robot" I mean sentient robots unless I specify otherwise.
Robots first started being created in the mid-late 19th century in the form of complicated automatons and talking telegraph machines, these were... creepy at best but also very expensive. Only maybe 1 or 2 existed at any given time in the world. None of these first robots made it to the modern day but there's probably the shell of a few in some museum somewhere.
up until the 1950s the creation of robots was sparse, often just used for factories or as attractions. But right around the midcentury the idea that robots could exist beside these new fancy computers was something that was highly considered.
While the US was focusing most of it's efforts on things like the computers, it was the UK that started the "robot age" in the late 60s in the form of robots like Freddy and Able Mabel, who was just a concept until someone created a working version about a decade later. (These are actual robots/robot concepts btw their history is interesting)
the UKs focus on robotics was an extreme success, robots regularly out preformed what was expected of them. Even the most simple ones created at the Universities seemed to be able to interact with humans in a more complex way. People started asking questions when the robots seemed a little more, intelligent and emotional than they should be. As if they had working sentient minds.
Then the 80s hit, the decade of the personal computer and the decade of the robot. Creating robots became cheaper and so companies hired people to build robots for them to do the tedious work that people didn't want to do. These robots could socialize like humans, walk like humans, plan like humans and seemingly feel emotions like humans. While personal computers were hitting the market, robots could seemingly do things that computers couldn't and faster. So their demand for them rose and robots started popping up all over the world. You'd now see robots on public transport, at your local supermarket and at pubs. But this was also the decade where robot rights were called into question
At this stage robots were seen as unfeeling, any emotion they conveyed was just programmed into them and not something they actually felt. It wasn't until the creators of these robots stood up for them alongside the robots themselves that laws were passed to prevent the cruel mistreatment of robots.
Not all countries have the same laws or had them pass at the same time so different robots can be treated differently/built differently depending on that. Which I might get deeper into in a different post :-)

[Apple,Inc.] Leadership Styles
[Juaneishia]
What makes a leader strategic and innovative? There are components that allow a leader to take over the skills of being strategic and innovative. To have the inclination for long-term success, competitive advantage, problem-solving mindset, adaptability to change, and passion for impact, personal growth, etc. What makes a leader possess dysfunctional behavior? The ingredients are insecurity, ego, greed, inability to delegate, the list is endless but not satisfactory for the company or the employees. As we dive into the different leadership traits of the CEOs of Apple, we will learn the dos and don’ts of being a leader. You will be able to identify what type of leader you want to be for your business or personal growth based on the styles that were depicted by each CEO. Using strategies and innovation will cause challenges to arise; this is normal. “Strategic thinkers question the status quo. They challenge their own and others’ assumptions and encourage divergent points of view. Only after careful reflection and examination of a problem through many lenses do they take decisive action. This requires patience, courage, and an open mind. (Schoemaker, Krupp, Howland, 2013). Dysfunctional leadership is very unprofessional. “Unprofessional behavior can cause discomfort among team members, and it can undermine the leader’s credibility and authority.” (Blog).
Apple, Inc.
Founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne as a partnership, Apple started in the garage of the Jobs family home. Apple would move over the next half century to become one of the largest and most successful tech companies in the world. The first product developed by Jobs and Wozniak was the Apple I computer and according to Wikipedia (2020) was “sold as a motherboard with CPU, RAM, and basic textual-video chips—a base kit concept which was not yet marketed as a complete personal computer.” In 1977, after creating the Apple I computer, Apple became an incorporated company in Cupertino, California. By the time apple had become an incorporation, Wayne had sold his shares back to Jobs and Wozniak. (Richardson, 2023).
After several product successes in 1977, including Apple II and MacIntosh computers, Apple faced trouble in the market. Wintel offered lower-priced PC clones that were operated on Intel software systems. Through this trouble, Apple was faced with bankruptcy. During the challenge of facing bankruptcy, Jobs repaired the failed operating system’s issues and developed new products including iPod, iMac, iPhone, and iPad allowing the company to perform a complete 360 by 1978. (2020).
Apple, after its start, went through a few short-term CEO’s. While the more prominent leaders remain to be Jobs, Wozniak, and Tim Cook, a collaborative modern-aged leader, it is important to acknowledge the role that others had played and how it affected the company and its vision. (2023).
Today, Apple has evolved to offer full-service technology in many varieties. Apple technology now includes headwear, watches, Augmented Reality (AR), streaming and subscription services, music, and more (2025). Apple has effectively adapted to the demand of the consumer through a technological revolution.

So, it should be pretty obvious by now that I'm firmly against fans boycotting Bioware and Dreadwolf due to the layoffs. I'll put it in business terms. I've worked for Fortune 500 companies, and I speak from that perspective.
The people who made it are hoping, and have said, that they hope people will love Dreadwolf as much as they do. Even when they were laid off.
It would punish the creatives who made the game far more than it would punish Bioware. They likely can't even talk about it due to NDAs unless/until it's released. Can you imagine not being able to talk about a thing you loved and poured years of your life, creativity, and passion into? I can. It would be heartbreaking.
I don't want to be responsible for harming people who love dragon age enough to make it for us. If I boycott, that's exactly what I'd be partially responsible for. I'm usually very pro-boycott, but in this case, I'm not.
So here's the question... we unequivocally live in a late stage capitalist nightmare world. Do you know how many other companies have laid off employees this year?
This type of behavior has been pro forma for corporate for at least 20 years, probably longer.
So, why would people boycott Dreadwolf and Bioware when they're by far not even the most egregious example of mass layoffs?
In 2022-2023, we've had these mass layoffs.
Meat giant Tyson Foods is laying off about 15% of senior leadership roles and 10% of corporate roles, according to an internal memo shared with CNN.
Y'all gonna boycott meat? I didn't think so.
3M announced significant layoffs as part of another major restructuring plan. The brand behind Post-It Notes and Scotch Tape said in a statement it would lay off 6,000 staff around the world.
Gonna boycott tape? Ear plugs? Sticky notes?
Lyft (LYFT)’s move in November to cut 13% of its workforce, citing fears of a looming recession.
Buzzfeed announced a 15% reduction in its workforce, or about 180 employees.
David's Bridal is eliminating 9,236 positions across the United States but did not specify how many stores would be affected.
Walmart is laying off more than 3,000 workers.
And I know many people can't afford to boycott Walmart.
Meta announced an additional 10,000 layoffs across several months on top of mass layoffs in 2022.
You still use Facebook? I personally loathe it and only keep an account for marketing reasons. I can barely even make it work anymore.
Three rounds of layoffs hit Disney (DIS), announced through a March 27 internal memo to employees. Around 7,000 people will be affected by the move over the next several months.
Amazon (AMZN) said in March it would cut 9,000 jobs, bringing the total number of Amazon (AMZN) staffers eliminated this year to around 27,000.
Indeed.com announced cuts of approximately 2,200 employees, representing almost 15% of its total workforce, the company said in March.
Satellite radio giant SiriusXM laid off 475 people, or about 8% of its workforce, as part of a broad restructuring.
Zoom (ZM) said it will lay off about 1,300 employees, or approximately 15% of its staff, in a memo to employees in Feburary.
Dell (DELL) laid off roughly 5% of its workforce, the company said in a regulatory filing in February. Dell had about 133,000 employees, the company told CNN. At that level, the 5% cut represents more than 6,500 employees.
Gonna refuse to use your computer?
Microsoft said in January it would be laying off 10,000 employees, according to a securities filing.
This was only up to around March of this year. There's loads more.
Point being it's ridiculous to boycott a company and hurt the people who made a thing they love just because they got laid off.
This is what corporations do. There is 0 loyalty to the employee at a corporation. It's all about the bottom line.
Maybe all y'all haven't worked in corporate, maybe people are hopping on the 'I'll boycott too' bandwagon. IDEK.
I honestly don't care if I change anyone's mind about it all, but it’s silly. Just outright ridiculous to expect a corporation to do anything but what corporations do.
It's not right. It's awful. I hate that Bioware basically backstabbed the creatives who made them what they are. But it's not new or even remotely rare. Bioware has laid off roughly 125 employees in the past handful of months.
Every company I named laid off far, far more. And if you think I'll believe you're going to boycott Microsoft, you must have a bridge you want to sell me, too.
Here's the source, if you want it.

The people at the head of Mob Games apparently had a lot of history with Bendy, making a lot of fan animations for it. With that in mind, do you think Poppy Playtime takes a bit too much inspiration from Bendy and the Ink Machine at times, even to the point of being a rip off?
[computer voice] ALERT! SOMEONE ASKED A DOLL FAN IF THEY THINK SOMETHING IS A RIP OFF. ALERT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL-

Ahem. As someone who's a doll enjoyer (Monster High my BELOVED!), I must say that calling anything a rip off is strange, to say the least. I remember back in the day when Bratz and Monster High fans were at each other's throats thanks to MGA releasing Bratzillas, aka the witch/horror-themed line for Bratz in order to compete against Monster High. And at the time I did call it a rip-off, I won't lie, I was and still am a MH girlie, however, taking a look at it again, they were two extremely different things that used the same fundamentals, aka horror, fashion and a themed school, to explore different things.
I do believe Mob (the company) did take inspiration from BATIM in order to make Poppy Playtime, because BATIM made money and they, too, wanted money. However, calling PPT a BATIM rip-off doesn't work at all!
Asides from the two games having wildly different art styles and mechanics (I. Will say that PPT's grabpack is more interesting than anything BATIM pulled off gameplay-wise, I'm sorry I know BATDR improved everything but that doesn't count because it came post-PPT), the way they tackle their stories is also different. They both suffer from "let's hide important shit away for the theorist community to find and give us free advertisement!", but BATIM is fundamentally about a neverending cycle that NEEDS to end or be improved (which is achieved in the sequel!), the pain said cycle is bringing to everyone, and the corruption of childhood. PPT is also about the corruption of childhood, but that's a theme present since FNaF, but it puts a heavier emphasis on the horrors these abandoned CHILDREN had to be put through, and how it affected their development and entire life. Chapter 2 had a bit of this with Mommy Long Legs, her anger outbursts and how Playtime forced her to watch people she cared about be taken away from her, and chapter 3 had it with Catnap, how the Prototype affected him, and how the HoJ affected everyone inside Playtime.
BATIM and PPT's themes are extremely different, just like its mechanics, and all the similarities they shared are things commonly found in mascot horror as a whole: The loss and corruption of childhood, corporate greed, marketable monsters, constant releases either in the form of new games on the shorter end of chapters for the same game in order to keep public attention, and emphasis on theories in order to keep the fandom going. I don't think it's fair calling PPT a rip-off, because then we would need to call BATIM a FNaF rip-off as well.
Anyways. Isn't it funny how both BATIM and PPT represented the corruption of the game companies that made them-

The Importance of Tokens in Building a Robust Crypto Investment Portfolio
Introduction
Cryptocurrency has revolutionized the world of finance, offering new opportunities for investment and innovation. Central to this ecosystem are tokens, which serve as the building blocks of blockchain technology. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or a newcomer to the crypto space, understanding the importance of tokens is crucial for building a robust and diversified investment portfolio. This blog will explore the different types of tokens, their roles, and how they can enhance your crypto investment strategy.
Understanding Tokens
What Are Tokens?
Tokens are digital assets created and managed on a blockchain. They can represent a wide range of assets, including currencies, utility functions, rights, or even tangible assets like real estate. Unlike cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, which operate on their own standalone blockchains, tokens are typically built on existing blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Solana, or Binance Smart Chain.
Types of Tokens
Tokens can be broadly categorized into three main types:
Utility Tokens: These tokens provide access to a product or service within a blockchain ecosystem. For example, Ethereum’s ETH is used to pay for transaction fees and computational services on the Ethereum network.
Security Tokens: Representing ownership in an asset, security tokens are similar to traditional securities like stocks and bonds. They are subject to regulatory oversight and offer investors certain rights, such as dividends or profit sharing.
Governance Tokens: These tokens grant holders the ability to vote on decisions affecting the blockchain network or project. Examples include Uniswap’s UNI and MakerDAO’s MKR, which allow users to influence the direction of their respective platforms.
The Role of Tokens in the Crypto Ecosystem
Tokens play a pivotal role in the functionality and governance of blockchain projects. They enable decentralized applications (dApps), facilitate transactions, and incentivize network participation. By holding and using tokens, investors and users can interact with various blockchain-based services, participate in governance, and contribute to the growth and security of the network.
The Importance of Diversification in Crypto Investments
Why Diversify?
Diversification is a fundamental principle of investment strategy. It involves spreading investments across different assets to reduce risk. In the context of cryptocurrency, diversification helps mitigate the inherent volatility and uncertainty of the market. By investing in a variety of tokens, you can balance potential losses with gains, thereby protecting your portfolio from market fluctuations.
Benefits of Diversification
Risk Reduction: By holding a mix of tokens from different projects and sectors, you reduce the impact of a poor-performing asset on your overall portfolio.
Increased Opportunities: Diversification exposes you to a broader range of investment opportunities, increasing the likelihood of high returns from successful projects.
Stability: A diversified portfolio is generally more stable, as gains in some assets can offset losses in others, leading to more consistent performance.
How to Diversify Your Crypto Portfolio
To effectively diversify your crypto investment portfolio, consider the following strategies:
Invest in Different Types of Tokens: Include a mix of utility, security, and governance tokens to benefit from various use cases and value propositions.
Spread Across Blockchain Platforms: Invest in tokens built on different blockchains, such as Ethereum, Solana, and Binance Smart Chain, to leverage the strengths and innovations of each platform.
Incorporate Stablecoins: Stablecoins like USDT and USDC provide stability by being pegged to a fiat currency, offering a hedge against market volatility.
Consider DeFi and NFTs: Explore the growing sectors of decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for additional diversification and potential high returns.
The Strategic Role of Tokens in Your Portfolio
Enhancing Liquidity
Tokens, particularly those on popular blockchain platforms, often have high liquidity. This means they can be easily bought or sold without significantly affecting their price. High liquidity is essential for managing a portfolio, as it allows investors to quickly adjust their holdings in response to market changes.
Yield Farming and Staking
Tokens enable yield farming and staking, which are popular methods for earning passive income in the crypto space. Yield farming involves lending or staking tokens in DeFi platforms to earn interest or additional tokens. Staking, on the other hand, involves locking up tokens to support the network’s operations and receive rewards in return.
Governance and Voting
Holding governance tokens allows investors to participate in the decision-making processes of blockchain projects. This involvement can be valuable, as it gives token holders a say in the project’s future direction, potentially influencing its success and, consequently, the token’s value.
Access to Exclusive Services
Utility tokens often grant access to exclusive services or benefits within a blockchain ecosystem. For instance, holding certain tokens might provide discounts on transaction fees, access to premium features, or priority in network activities. These benefits can enhance the overall value of your investment portfolio.
Hedging Against Inflation
Cryptocurrencies and tokens can serve as a hedge against inflation, particularly in regions with unstable fiat currencies. By investing in tokens that appreciate in value, investors can protect their wealth from the eroding effects of inflation.
Case Studies: Successful Token Investments
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum’s native token, ETH, has been one of the most successful and influential tokens in the crypto space. Beyond its use as a cryptocurrency, ETH powers the Ethereum network, enabling smart contracts and dApps. Its value has surged due to widespread adoption and continuous development, making it a cornerstone of many crypto portfolios.
Binance Coin (BNB)
BNB, the native token of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has demonstrated remarkable growth. Initially used to pay for trading fees on the Binance platform at a discount, BNB’s utility has expanded to include use in DeFi applications, token sales, and even travel bookings. Binance’s aggressive expansion and token burn strategy have further driven BNB’s value.
Chainlink (LINK)
Chainlink’s LINK token has gained prominence by providing a decentralized oracle network that connects smart contracts with real-world data. LINK’s value has risen due to its critical role in enabling DeFi applications and partnerships with major companies and blockchain projects.
Solana (SOL)
Solana’s SOL token has quickly become a favorite among investors due to its high transaction speeds and low fees. As a competitor to Ethereum, Solana supports a growing number of dApps, DeFi projects, and NFTs. Its robust performance and strong community support have driven significant price appreciation, making it a valuable addition to any diversified crypto portfolio.
Also if you are intrested on solana, Then must create your own memecoins token on solana in just less than three seconds without any coding knowledge. with solana launcher & Deployment tool.
Tips for Building a Robust Crypto Investment Portfolio
Conduct Thorough Research
Always conduct thorough research before investing in any token. Understand the project’s goals, team, technology, and market potential. Read whitepapers, follow project updates, and engage with the community to gain insights.
Stay Informed
The crypto market is highly dynamic. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and major announcements. Follow reputable news sources, join online forums, and participate in community discussions.
Use Reputable Exchanges
Use reputable cryptocurrency exchanges for buying, selling, and trading tokens. Ensure the exchange has robust security measures, a user-friendly interface, and good customer support. Examples include Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken.
Secure Your Investments
Use secure wallets to store your tokens. Hardware wallets and reputable software wallets provide the best security features. Avoid keeping large amounts of cryptocurrency on exchanges for extended periods due to security risks.
Diversify Across Sectors
Diversify your investments across different sectors within the crypto space, such as DeFi, NFTs, and blockchain platforms. This approach helps mitigate risk and exposes you to various growth opportunities.
Monitor and Rebalance
Regularly monitor your portfolio and rebalance it as needed. Market conditions can change rapidly, and rebalancing ensures that your portfolio remains aligned with your investment goals and risk tolerance.
Be Prepared for Volatility
The crypto market is known for its volatility. Be prepared for significant price swings and avoid making impulsive decisions based on short-term market movements. Focus on long-term growth and maintain a disciplined investment approach.
Conclusion
Tokens are the backbone of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, offering diverse opportunities for investment and innovation. By understanding the different types of tokens and their roles, you can build a robust and diversified crypto investment portfolio. Diversification, research, and strategic investment in utility, security, and governance tokens can enhance your portfolio’s performance and reduce risk.
As the crypto market continues to evolve, staying informed and adaptable will be key to success. Embrace the opportunities tokens offer, and you may find yourself at the forefront of the next wave of financial innovation. Happy investing!

HUGE trigger warning for trauma, mental, emotional, verbal, panic and anxiety attacks and possible ptsd.
Okay...So..I would like to take a moment to explain why my writing; be it writing posted on here in terms of fanfics and headcannons or just replies to other things; has been practically non existent; because I know that's exactly what it's become; aside from small thoughts I've had and things I've reblogged and other things that aren't writing related. I would like to preface this by saying this is not a cry for sympathy; or an excuse; I know it's also my fault for letting what I am about to disclose affect me to this point; but.. Yeah I felt it was well more then time to come clean about my reasoning and be completely transparent. So... Yeah.. Hah.. Okay.. So.. For the past seven years; up until 2023 and now 2024; I have been forced to deal with horrible emotional, mental, verbal and at times physical abuse from my dad's former partner; all of which he was not able to do anything because during that time he was also dealing with mindgames from her on his end; that includes her holding my little half brother over his head. I was not able to get away from her and had no means of escape except from the brief trips to places I would go as a means to get away from her; including the times where Covid was around and I had been exposed to it; no I did not end up catching it thankfully. I would go out with my mask; even if it was just to the dairy because I wanted any means of escape from her. This included long and extended trips libraries where I would stay with my computer until it closed; internet cafes; out with my mother; my dad's friends etc; among other things that I will not go into because I don't feel it's right to share that on my blog. This is about my experience not his. The reason why I was not able to get away from her is because I had no means; and the housing market is still incredibly difficult over in my country. We only got the house we are at now from sheer luck and I am still on the benefit because of reasons I do not feel comfortable disclosing. I will however list all of the things that I was forced to deal with while under her roof; the very roof of the place that I still refer to as ' my prison ' because that's exactly what it was. It wasn't a home to me. It was a prison, a cage that I was stuck and trapped inside without any means of escape; the only hope being in the form of my friends on discord; quotev; my dad; my mother and other family friends. To keep it brief I will now list off everything that I endured at her hands. First and foremost the insults and verbal abuse. Below is every single thing that she called me; in no particular order.
Bitch
Useless bitch
Fat, ugly, bitch
Useless cunt
Fat, lazy bitch

A fucking liar
Now I will write down the rest; again in no particular order.
Isolating me from practically everyone and forcing me to be in my room every single day from the time she was pregnant with my little half brother because ' I was being rude and antisocial ' because I was on my computer in the lounge. As well as due to me not being around her because I wanted to stay the hell away from her, any and every time she was over; which was almost every single day; at all the three houses we jumped from; the last I still refer to as my prison.
Would pretend to be nothing short of lovely, kind, happy and nice when anyone else was around and then go right back to how she was with me when it was only her and me ' home. '
Attempting to turn my dad against me dad, poison our relationship out of envy and jealousy as well my and my dad's thoughts about my own mother because she doesn't like my mother.
Verbally; mentally and emotionally degraded; insulted and shamed me every. Single. Time I would not do what she wanted while she treated me as a live in slave; including at one point practically ordering me to stay behind to do the dishes when I was leaving to go to the course I was going to; while she would sit in the lounge and watch things using the internet that I pay for myself. This would later turn to full blown screaming and yelling at me along with calling me a tart at ' the prison. ' During this whole time my dad would not be there and at work. She stopped pretending by the third house and before we moved to the house we're currently renting.
Attempted to cut off really the only emotional support that I had at the time by turning off the again my internet because ' I was talking to my friends about her. ' only to stand in my way; blocking me from getting to the Modem; and saying she would turn it back off again as soon as I went into my room.
Devaluing any of my accomplishments such as me achieving a level 3, 2 certificate in Retail; level 2 in hospitality and my NCEA at the courses I was going to because i dropped out at school because of bullying before evily grinning when I would just stare at her incredulously.
Made me doubt my sanity by constantly going ' No I didn't! ' and so on.
Emotionally manipulated me and love bombing me by acting all sweet, caring, kind and loving to me while calling me honey and etc. I also remember her; during the first few years at one point pretending I was her daughter when around some of her family so I could get a necklace from one of her family members; and interrupting me as I was about to say that I wasn't her daughter.
Has shoved me when I was trying to stand up to her and show her I wasn't going to let her walk all over me or push me around; and the second time when I shoved her for calling my mother a crackwhore. And for the first time tried to spin it on me by saying that I had shoved her while she had been holding my little half brother. She wasn't. She shoved me with both hands.
Is the reason why I lost my cat due to neglecting to tell her sister to put her dog- who has killed a cat before- on a leash; the very same cat that I got as a birthday present; who was practically my emotional support animal while dealing with her abuse.
Her responses to anytime I have confronted her on her treatment towards me or any other time I have just stood up to her; has always been ' oh get fucked ' ' whatever. ' ' oh shut up. ' and so on.
Pretended that everything was perfectly fine; while never apologizing; owning up to anything and acting as if nothing at all happened despite how horrible she would be to me.
Never taking accountability; or apologizing; denying everything; turning the blame onto me and making me seem like the villian whenever I would call her out on her bullshit and treatment of me. I would be the one always apologizing and whenever I would I would always get a cold ' whatever. ' ' mhm. '
Prevented my cat- who was at the time a kitten- from being able to settle in by constantly slamming the doors; including cupboard doors and draws; closing the doors; being genuinely horrible to her; forcing her to become an outside cat because ' cats are outside animals ' after my cat had kept her up due to her not letting her explore around the house because ' she didn't want it in the house ' much less settle in due to not slamming things. Saying ' fuck off / get out cat ' kicking at her; because she was my cat.
Accusing me of abusing my kitten because she wouldn't come out from under my bed; due to the fact that she wouldn't stop slamming things; when I looked after her own cat; including feeding it and spending time with it; in the last few years of her life; while she would neglect it; giving it small portion meals and hardly ever spending time with the kitty after my half brother was born. As well as not coming to the funeral we held for her cat.
Pointed at me and said ' do you want him to turn out like that. ' during an argument about my little half brother with my dad. As well as constantly bringing me up in arguements before.
Gaslit me.
Caused me to have a nightmare about her pinning me to the wall; in the hallway of the ' prison ' and choking me with her arm while looking me with a glare and snarl on her expression; with the intent on killing me; which caused me to wake up afraid and to look around; thinking that I was going to find her in the room I was sleeping in.
Attempting to humiliate me in front of my family during a birthday party of mine; including my friends when I had them over for a sleepover. This happened more then once. Again because I hadn't acted as I should as her live in slave.
Has 10000% stolen and sold the necklace that my mother got me for my birthday.
Blatantly lied about things she ' taught me ' to others and ' has done for me ' such as being the one who taught me about my period; to make herself seem like that good one. She didn't. My mother did.
Attempted to exclude both my older brother and me from outings with my dad and her before so it could just be ' her, dad and her older son ' this being before little dude was born.
Just been blatantly petty and passive agressive.
Gone through and caused damange to my older brothers gaming console when me, my dad and my older brother still lived together because ' she was looking for a cord. ' by slaming it down into the box on concrete.
( This and the last two have happened at the new house ) Threatened me with physical assault
Said I should be living on my own; and brought up my age. I am younger then her.
Filmed me with her phone after provoking me
Said that she would and I quote ' would do it again. ' when I confronted her about it for the final time.
Has blatantly and knowingly ignored any and all boundries she knows such as her coming inside; telling me to ' shut up ' that ' it wasn't up to you. ' when I told her to get off my property and take my younger half brother home; and still attempted to turn it around on me when I- understandably pissed- lost it on her and told her to get out and away from my house. Even going so far as to say ' go ahead call them. ' when I threatened to call the police if she didn't. This being after she said she would ' do it again. '
Above is everything I can recall; but as you all can see; I have enough here to be able to write a book on. Thankfully as of 2023 I was finally able to get the hell away from her and escape it; escape her in a house that I have made clear to my dad that I do not want her over; much less setting foot in for longer then a second. I have been on the path to heal; but thanks to the times she has come around; thankfully those are extremely scarce it has not been easy. As a result of all I have endured at her hands it has led me to develop social anxiety; having panic and anxiety attacks at times at the current house; breaking down at work in tears to my boss and having to go home from work while I was dealing with her abuse because my mental state was that horrible; being afraid to leave my room because I didn't want to be around her; having horrible stomach pains and just finding much more difficult to focus; as well as..Losing a big chunk of my passion, love and motivation to write. Which honestly hurts and makes me the angriest and honestly hate her more. Among all the other things, of course.
The fact that she robbed me of a portion of what I love to do the most. My passion and my dream the reason I even started this blog; started writing.
My mental state is slowly but surely getting better thanks to the support of my dad; my mother, family and my beloved friends on Discord and also my plushies; but...It's still hard. I still cannot hear or type her name without wanting to flinch; I still get so on edge every time I hear her voice or just see her; or just the idea of her coming around. To the point where I still lock my downstairs and front door so she can't just walk right in.
I don't like being angry; I don't like hating people; holding grudges; I never have; especially the level I have felt; the levels of pure rage that I have felt due to her; to the point where I have literally trembled and shook from it and my entire body has felt like it was buzzing from it; and the tears I've shed. Good fudge the tears I've shed because of her... A part of me still feels numb; drained, emotionless and not all there and I know it's because of it; the abuse I suffered at her hands; and I honestly can't help but wonder if that feeling is what's left of the genuine love, happiness and joy that I would come to me before I had the misfortune of having her come into my life; the part that was there before she worked to destroy all of who I was from the inside out..
I know that they'll return; I hope they will; I have people around me who love me; want me and care for me and my environment is safe; that'll remain safe; or at least I hope they'll return; but I just miss feeling whole; maybe that's a dramatic thing to say but..I do. Like I said; I don't want sympathy; this isn't a cry for comfort; I don't want an apology from her because I know I'll never get it; this is just me wanting to explain what happened to my writing and why it takes so long for me to respond.
All I do want is to feel complete and whole again. I want to feel the same passion and love for writing as I did before all of this horribleness happened; before a big portion of it was ripped away from me and torn to shreds just because it could be. It's still there of course; and I still love writing but.. I miss feeling it to the extent that I did before all of the above things happened.
I just want my love, my passion for writing back; the parts of me that were ripped from me back; I want to be able to get something out quickly and not take freaking days or weeks or months to do it; like I unfortunately do now. Because of her.
I know they'll come back; they already are thanks to the incredible support and validation from my friends and family and I'm feeling a little bit better day by day; but I know I've also dissapointed and let down a lot of people and I am truly sorry. I know in time this feeling and everything that's been caused by it will fade and I'll feel less incomplete; or at least I hope anyway; and I can feel my love for writing and motivation coming back gradually little by little; I'm on the road to healing after all; but..It's still difficult.
Once again I am very sorry to everyone who I may have and likely disappointed; be it with a request or a response to a roleplay. But..Yeah that's all I wanted to explain. I don't know if I'll delete this..But.. Yeah. Please, do not send any asks or comments on this post commenting on how my dad handled this; he's also a victim in this too because he too has suffered heartache and abuse at her hands.
So...Yeah.. That's why I haven't written anything on here. I'm sorry if this post is so long and a bit extensive but I just.. I just wanted to be as transparent as possible.

The art evolution and the cyberart hegemony
André Arruda Bruno
Comparing the markets of old Renaissance art and modern digital art, we all know that they show significant divergences. The renaissance brings more tangible, realistic art and is older, otherwise digital art is the latest form of artistic expression. It surrounds many types of art such as animations, illustrations, digital paintings, etc. The main differences between Renaissance art and digital art are their form, how they're made, and how they're shared.
Renaissance art was a really important time in art history. As we know, Classical ideas came back and artists had more freedom to create. Furthermore Rich people or groups and organizations with money, called patrons, helped the artists a lot. They gave financial support to the artists. Art groups, known as guilds, also played a part, making sure that the works were of good quality. The market itself based their judgements on the classical ideas that remained from the past.
The 20th century opened a door for a new era of technological advancements, stimulating a digital art revolution. The computers and digital tools transformed the art universe, and this marked a big change in how art was created and dissolved as we know from the past paragraphs. Artists, now, had access to new mediums and techniques, opening a new horizon of artistic expression.
This technological advance stimulated the creation of new tools to create a new type of art. The so-called cyberart. According to wikipedia this term "cyberart" is vague and relatively new; An example of a common type of cyberart is produced programmatically by applying a set of design rules to a natural or preexisting process, generating an digital software made art. Some of the known types of cyber art are the NFTs (non-fundable tokens), Augmented reality (AR), Pixel art, animation etc.
Opposed to the renaissance market, the modern digital art market has evolved in their most various mediums. In the creation and dissolution of art, a big move was brought about by the digital era; The Technology became a special tool for artists. Online galleries and NFTs have become fundamental for the digital art market. These online platforms provided a global reach for artists to exhibit their work, and NFTs have revolutionized the concept of owning a piece of art in the digital niche, creating a new market dynamic. With the internet age, online platforms became the pillar of the digital art movement. Nowadays, there are many types of galleries in which the most various types of art are exhibited, as well as the online markets, which the NFTs dominate and make a lot of success. never could Da Vinci think that technology would change the way how se see art like today’s vision
Concluding, the Renaissance art market started in the 14th century and the changes over the 7 centuries shows how the technologies affected not only the arts itself but also the perspective upon the pieces of art, and how these perspectives affected the dynamic of the art market nowadays.

The heist was a success (mostly)!! Static was super happy I allowed him to bite the cables controlling the security camreas, Security had a rough time dealing with Tag and Zene, trying to taze them, luckily they were too big for it to actually affect them. Risk felt like being a little shit and grabbing useless stuff, but eventually made up for it.
I'm unsure how valuable any of this stuff is, mainly computers, and metal crates filled with god know what. Risk uncovered a trapdoor which had a safe in it. I was unable to open it, and I'm scared if I asked Zene to he would do what humans do to empty soda can's. I'm bringing it all to the safehouse, I'm hoping you can help us sell this stuff off. By the sounds off the crates it might be ultraballs or even masterballs. The safe seems important too. We should be at the safehouse by the end of the day... and we'll just stay till we can get our bearings back.
Thanks for all your help, I couldn't have pulled this off without your advice :) -Sprite
Ah, I love to see it. We'll ID your haul, pass it on to our fence, and get you your share of the profits. This looks like a decently valuable one-- always a market for low-price ultra balls.

yeahhhhh pretty much, except the only thing is it's less individual investors and more Hedge Funds.
Hedge funds use algorithms to maximize profits by any means necessary, up to and including certain tactics that will deliberately tank a stock. If it's not performing well or if they just don't want it to, they can bet against it and whip out a variety of bullshit of varying legality to push the share price down, which causes other HFs to sell to stay ahead of the market, which leads portfolio managers and accountants and regular folks to sell, and then when the selloffs are done the original HFs make fucking bank off strangling the stock. (This also works in reverse: betting a stock will rise, baiting others to buy in, profit, then bet against it again)
So a "strong" company is one with lots of gains and very few/short losses (harder to break/less room to manipulate, generally Big Name stocks like Disney/Apple/etc) whereas a "weak" company with more losses than gains or lots of volatility is a prime target for the piranhas. The people running companies are terrified of stagnation, let alone losses, because it can very, very easily be taken advantage of and even outright kill the company in just a few weeks or months. Perpetual growth is virtually required to survive the market as it is today.
Individual, casual/hobbyist investors with at most a couple dozen shares in a handful of companies don't have the numbers/margins to seriously affect a stock price. Even hobbyist/semipro "traders" who obsess/hoard and attempt to imitate The Big Guys are comparitively few in number and just don't have the weight to affect much more than their own account balance. But hedge funds do have MASSIVE weight in the market, throwing around thousands of shares at a time, several times a day, for dozens of different tickers, in multiple markets and across multiple industries.
And then there are "market makers." These are giant companies whose SOLE purpose is to manipulate the market ensure "market liquidity," or, "a buy for every sell, a sell for every buy." What this means is that if demand is high but there aren't enough shares available to sell, they make more by "borrowing" them, potentially infinitely. If these market makers feel a stock is too "overvalued," they can dump loads of those borrowed shares to saturate the market and drive the price back down. There is extremely little regulation on this, which leads to situations where the same one share can have dozens or hundreds of "owners."
This can happen because regular everyday investors don't actually "own" stock at all. Like, very literally, their "shares" are 1) not real and 2) can be liquidated by their brokers at any time, because, as the go-between third party, their brokers own the shares "on their behalf," and brokers essentially just "deliver" digital IOUs. All Actual Real Shares are held in the DTCC by a company called Cede & Co, and everything else is traded on credit.
If you buy a "share" in a company through a broker, it's not your name on the company shareholder list, it's your broker's. If you're submitting paperwork to your broker for voting for that company's policies at their annual meeting, your broker is pooling aaaaall the votes and "proportionally" voting "on your behalf." And your broker can decide to lend out your shares without telling you (to their own profit) and you may or may not ever get them back -- this is called "failure to delivers" or FTDs and there is a massive backlog of them that just ... never get addressed.
this is hella over-summarized and sloppy but the tl;dr is that supply and demand economics are beyond broken, the entire stock market is more fake than you ever imagined, it's propped up entirely by computer programs trading IOUs-of-IOUs-of-IOUs, and is easily manipulated at the literal whim of bank-and-billionaire proxies.
companies really have got to be okay with stagnant profits. what is wrong with earning the same amount every year? why does it always have to be more? it's not sustainable. there are only so many people on the planet you can profit from 😭
#stock market#it was a hyperfixation i try to forget#but sometimes i ... cannot#it still makes me so ANGRY#its a bernie madoff wet dream#and there is just SO MUCH INFO to try and organize and communicate#like i could prob make a nice masterpost with a cpl days of prep#but i rly can't right now bc irl stuff#and i shouldn't#BUT IM SO TEMPTED#a great primer tho is Jon Stewart's episode on Dark Pools#anyways#rambles#FUCKING STOCK MARKET AAAAAAAA#financial law enforcement can take YEARS and fines are often LESS THAN 5% OF PROFITS FROM THE CRIME#and they reversed the last charges from the 2008 crisis#and they're still fuckin DOIN THE SAME SHIT#when it finally implodes its gonna be like. so ungodly bad#it was never supposed to be this#it was supposed to be regular ppl supporting good companies products and employers#until a handful of ppl figured out how to turn it into a terrifyingly efficient money printing game#with a 0% chance of legal consequences#and 'only' like a 5% chance of total economic annihilation via catastropic chain reactive system failure#aaaaaAAAAAAAAAA okay. okay im done#im done im good im... letting go now#going back to normal. i can be done. i can.#sorry

The recent outbreak of COVID-19 had an immense effect on the online on-demand home services market. Even though the epidemic damaged the world economy, demand for cloud computing increased due to the pandemic. As a result, significant players took full benefit of the crisis to create ways to reform their business models. There was the rapid growth of the e-commerce platform, which essentially aided the boost in market growth. Further, during the pandemic, a large population was inclined towards digitalization and essentially adopted smartphones, which resulted in high internet penetration. Thus, the market witnessed a heightening requirement even during the pandemic. Hence, the increased demand during the lockdown restrictions has primarily helped the market gain traction.

What Are Current Affairs?

In a world that moves faster than ever, keeping up with what’s happening around us isn’t just helpful, it’s essential. Whether it’s the latest political shake-up, a scientific breakthrough, or a global sporting event, current affairs help us make sense of the world. But what are current affairs?
Understanding the Basics
Definition of Current Affairs
Current affairs are day-to-day events of political, economic, social, or cultural importance, both at a national and international level. Simply put, it’s what’s happening now and what people are talking about today. Think of it as the pulse of the world; it changes constantly and affects everyone differently.
Why Current Affairs Matter in Today’s World
They keep you informed, make conversations richer, and help you connect the dots in real life. Whether you're discussing taxes over tea or analysing global crises, staying updated gives you the upper hand.
Historical Context
The Evolution of News and Information Sharing
Back in the day, people relied on town criers and letters. Then came newspapers, radio, TV, and now we’re in the digital age. Information moves at lightning speed, and so does the scope of current affairs.
From Print to Digital Media
Today, a tweet can spark a revolution, and a blog post can change public opinion. The shift from print to digital has made news more accessible and, sometimes, more overwhelming.
Categories of Current Affairs
Political Events and Governance
Elections, legislation, leadership changes, and international policies all fall under political current affairs. These stories shape the future of nations and impact everyday life.
Economic Updates and Market Trends
Stock market shifts, inflation news, job reports, and budget announcements are crucial for everyone, from business owners to students planning their careers.
Social Issues and Cultural Movements
Movements like #MeToo or debates around education reforms are key social affairs. They reveal the changing values and concerns of society.
Science, Technology, and Innovations
From AI advancements to space exploration, science and tech-related news not only informs but also inspires. Ever heard of CRISPR or quantum computing? They’re part of current affairs too.
Environmental Developments and Climate Action
Climate change, deforestation, conservation efforts—all these are essential for understanding our planet’s health and future.
International Relations and Global Diplomacy
Trade deals, peace treaties, and diplomatic tensions impact global stability. Even if they seem distant, they have ripple effects on economies and security worldwide.
Sports and Entertainment News
From the Olympics to the Oscars, these events shape global culture. They’re fun, but also big business and influence how we relate socially.
Sources of Current Affairs
Traditional Media: TV, Radio, and Newspapers
Still reliable, especially for in-depth reporting and analysis. BBC, The Guardian, and ITV are classic British examples.
Online Platforms and Social Media
Quicker, often trendier, but be cautious. Sites like Twitter, Reddit, and news apps offer updates in real time but also spread misinformation.
Government and Official Publications
Gov.uk, NHS updates, UN reports these are primary sources and crucial for accurate information.
Importance of Staying Updated
For Students and Competitive Exams
Current affairs are a major part of exams like the UPSC, IAS, and other civil service tests. Knowing them can make or break your score.
For Professionals and Decision Makers
Business strategies, marketing campaigns, and public policies often hinge on recent events. Being in the know means making smarter decisions.
For Everyday Awareness and Conversations
Want to be the interesting one at parties or the insightful one at work? Then knowing what’s happening around the world is your secret weapon.
How to Keep Track of Current Affairs Effectively
Tips for Daily News Consumption
Set aside 15–30 minutes each day
Use a mix of reliable sources
Listen to podcasts or watch summaries
Avoid info overload, less is more if it’s quality
Recommended Apps and Websites
BBC News
Google News
Khan Global Studies for curated summaries
Challenges in Current Affairs Today
Fake News and Misinformation
Anyone can post anything these days. That’s why verifying sources is key. Cross-check before believing or sharing.
Information Overload and Bias
So much info can confuse instead of clarify. Stick to a few good sources, and be aware of the biases behind them.
Role of Current Affairs in Education
Academic Relevance
Subjects like political science, economics, and sociology are deeply tied to current events. Real-world examples make learning relatable.
Critical Thinking and Awareness Building
Current affairs foster analytical thinking. You learn to ask, “Why did that happen?” and “What does it mean for us?”
Global vs Local Current Affairs
The Balance Between World News and Community News
It’s easy to get caught up in global drama and miss what’s happening in your town. Both are important, one shows the big picture, the other your immediate surroundings.
The Future of Current Affairs
Role of AI and Automation in News Delivery
AI is changing how news is gathered and shared. It can filter stories, detect trends, and even write short updates.
Emerging Trends in News Consumption
People prefer video over text, and newsletters over websites. The format may change, but the thirst for current knowledge stays the same.
Conclusion
Current affairs are the thread that weaves our world together. From politics to pop culture, staying informed helps you grow intellectually, engage meaningfully, and act wisely. In this age of instant updates and endless information, knowing what’s relevant, accurate, and timely isn’t just a skill; it’s a superpower.
