I had one more Furby idea to "get out of my system" for the moment.
My pair of gloves recently got kinda wrecked and unwearable in the wash, so I repurposed them as an octopus-like Furby. It's an idea I've had for a while, but avoided due to complicated leg design, but the glove fingers worked as legs perfectly, and so much easier!
Not quite an octopus, but more of a decapus with ten legs.
Here's .·₊˚₊·*☆ Decapod ☆*·₊˚₊·. A straight-forward name that means ten-legged, but I thought it sounded cool :]
The girls are finally ready! Grace the Golden Sebright is completely hand made.
I cut the vague shape of a chicken out of clay with a craft knife, wait 24 hours for them to dry, then sand them down to smooth the surfaces. After that, a layer of gesso to make the paint sit nicely. Then comes the actual painting using acrylics.
Once that’s completely dry, a few layers of UV resin on each side to protect the clay. Curing the resin is pretty time consuming with no freaking SUN lmao.
Finally, I attached split rings to the hooks for extra security and put the whole thing together. 🌈
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while and I finally got all the materials to make it. I made my very own clown doll! I’m terrible at sewing but I think I did a pretty good job with the clothes. His name is Buttons and I’m so proud of how he came out.
I've had the ceramic lighthouse for years, slightly broken and not quite my style, until this idea came to me and now I'm desk deep in air drying clay dust and sculpting tools 🙃
Still many hours of sculpting to go (the suckers on the largest tentacle took me most of a day ahah), and then painting it (which I'm looking forwards to so much omg)
