Awash in conflicting reports from unstable battlefronts, [President Gerald] Ford wanted a firsthand appraisal [on the situation in Vietnam] from someone he could trust. General [Frederick] Weyand was his chosen emissary. "You are not going over to lose," he instructed Weyand, "but to be tough and see what we can do." Ford conceded that any military options were severely limited. "I regret I don't have the authority to do some of the things President Nixon could do," he remarked wistfully. As the Oval Office emptied, photographer David Kennerly stayed behind. "You know, I would really like to go with the General," he said. Ford needed no persuading. As a journalist, and a friend, with extensive knowledge of the region from his two-year stint as a combat photographer for UPI, Life and Time, Kennerly could be counted on for an honest assessment of events -- more honest, perhaps, than that of diplomats and military men -- and with it, the pictures to back him up. Kennerly returned to his first-floor office with a sign dangling from his neck. GONE TO VIETNAM. BACK IN TWO WEEKS.
That evening the irreverent photo hound dubbed Hot Shot by the Secret Service appeared in the upstairs family quarters to say goodbye. Ford threw a protective arm around the young man's shoulders.
"You be careful. You have everything you need?"
As a matter of fact, Kennerly's pockets were empty. Local banks were closed and he could use some cash. Ford opened his wallet and handed over its contents, $47, as Betty Ford gave Kennerly a hug. He was striding toward the door when the President called out his name. "Here," said Ford, tossing Kennerly a quarter. "You might as well clean me out."
-- Richard Norton Smith, on White House photographer David Hume Kennerly's interactions with President Gerald Ford after Kennerly asked to accompany a General on a fact-finding mission to Vietnam in March 1975, shortly before the Fall of Saigon, An Ordinary Man: The Surprising Life and Historic Presidency of Gerald R. Ford (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO)

Not telling y'all that you should be able to identify AI slop (but it is a valuable skill, you totes should), but if you're to be accusing artists of being AI left and right at least go and do your homework, or at least do the bare minimum and use AI identification tools like Hive Moderation, so you 1- don't ruin someone's lifehood 2- don't make a clown out of yourself maybe
Like, i get it, AI slop and "AI artists" pretending to be genuine is getting harder and harder to identify, but just accusing someone out of the blue and calling it a day doesn't make it any better.
The AI clowns shifted to styles that have less "tells" and the AI arts are becoming better. Yeah, it sucks ass.
They're also integrating them with memes, so you chuckle and share, like those knights with pink backgrounds, some cool frog and a funny one liner, so you get used to their aesthetic.
This is an art from the new coming set Final Fantasy for MtG. This is someone on Reddit accusing someone of using AI. From what i can tell, and i fucking hate AI, there is NO AI used on this image.
As far as i can tell and as far as any tool i've used, the Artist didn't use AI. which leads to the next one:
they accused the artist of this one of using Ai. the name of this artist is Nestor Ossandon.
He as already been FALSELY ACCUSED of using AI, because he drew a HAND THAT LOOKED A LITTLE WEIRD, which caused a statement from D&D Beyond, confirming that no AI has been used.
Not to repeat mysef, they're accusing the art above, that is by Nestor, to have used Ai.
REAL artists are not machines. And just like the AI slop, we are not perfect and we make mistakes. The hands we draw have wonky fingers sometimes. The folds we draw are weird. But we are REAL. We are real people. And hey, some of our "mistakes" sometimes are CHOICES. Artistic choices are a thing yo.
If you're to accuse someone of using Ai, i know it's getting hard to identify. But come on. At least do your due diligence.
#no#i will not “tag” the Ai artists of the catsune miku and the cat cux for all i care AI artists can go to hell and burn#but like#there are many of them#and when you figure out how to spot ai and how the AI generate the images#please trust me on this one#it gets super easy to ident like 80% of most of it#the catsune miku is the HARDEST to ident so far#because it did something out of the ordinary#but otherwise the others have very easy tells#they're trying to mimic styles like watercolors and acrylic#that have blurred edges#and impressionism#that have undefined shapes#so theyr “mistakes” pass as intention#but that's besides the point#what i want here is people to just think a little but before randomly accuse people#cuz it's really getting out of had#and god i do love seeing an AI artist getting their wig yanked out of their fucking scalp for pretending to be a human#but y'all need to know when to do it#some of you don't know how to behave and it shows man

I feel like the 141 pitch in and hire a maid service for their Captain as a Valentine's treat.
He gets home. He knows someone is already here, but when he sees you, he rolls with it.
Hair pinned back, apron pressed neatly and tied in a bow. Slight damp patch from where you'd been leaning over the sink. Tells you to stop fussing with the dishes, that's what the dishwasher's for.
He's tracked mud into the hallway, boots are scuffed and dirty. You'd be better off greeting him properly (happy, kneeling) with the scrubbing brushes and boot polish.
(Someone better tell him you were just hired for the day. He's already clearing out space in the wardrobe and googling joint bank accounts).
#no val fic bc im going through it rn#so instead i shall force people to read my rambling fantasies#i imagine that shes not even a 'sexy' maid service where they do naked cleaning or whatever#just an ordinary woman who joined the agency for part time and weekend work — gotta get that money somehow#and now you have!!! unwittingly and (unwillingly) struck the jackpot with what you thought was an ordinary job#for a “very busy man with a high-stress job. travels a lot”#didnt expect to see him nor to end up [redacted]#hehehee#(wish fulfilment) who said that#john price x reader#price x reader#captain john price#john price/reader#john price imagine#cod imagine#tw dubcon#< not reeeeeally but kind of implied#boot cleaning#báirseach rambles

I’ve started on my animorphs read (got a whole heap of notes on the first three chapters somebody help me) and I was thinking about how it’s neat that visser three is the one to say elfangor’s name but also. <an honour to meet you>
like probably nobody else knows this isn’t their first meeting because of Chapman’s apparent memory wipe. And like wow, this is a big moment. Their first face-to-face meeting since the alternate universe.
Prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul, decorated by the Andalite military, mortally wounded and the last survivor of the ambush on his dome ship. A hero so big that nobody will ever hear of his crimes, who just wanted to do things right.
And he’s facing Visser Three, who nobody has fought and survived.
Whose face he has personally been spitting in - as well as a creature without a mouth can - since he was just a subvisser in a hork-Bajir body.
Whose hands he played into better than the visser could ever have hoped, allowing this abomination - an andalite controlled by a yeerk - to be created.
And he knows he has to die. There’s nothing he can do, but he makes his ship fire, one last time - not on alloran though, he could never kill alloran, this is all his fault after all, but people have been freed before, and he’s just met the son he never even saw and he needs what he tells these human children to matter.
So he shows them how to fight, how to be brave, as one of the biggest moments in the war against the Yeerks happens in an abandoned construction site on Earth, with five human children as witnesses. Elfangor probably isn’t arrogant enough to think he’s a big moment, but to the yeerks, to the andalites, to the animorphs, he is. So really, of course, the biggest moment in the war was before visser three landed and showed the animorphs what elfangor meant. It was when a dying alien crash-landed in front of a bunch of mall rats who should’ve taken the long way home.
#got a little carried away as usual. but man. this book sets the stakes#and I know andalite chronicles almost certainly wasn’t planned at this point#but it kind of adds to Esplin’s flair for dramatics. He knows this is a huge moment#and to treat elfangor like he knows him only by reputation gives the moment more. He acknowledges he’s great - downplays it sure#but it’s not the time for bringing up past failures. they’re both heroes of their armies so he makes sure everyone watching knows#this is a big moment. he’s the one with the power but this is no ordinary warrior that’s been brought down#way too many thoughts sorry#animorphs spoilers#in case anyone is on their first read#animorphs#animorphs book club

I'm sure I've ranted about this before, but it drives me wild how proud Bruce is of Cass because SHE MADE HIM BLEED!!!
You can read the "that's my girl" loud and clear in the way he smiles after wiping his mouth.
He's so damn happy and she's so damn smug. They're insane and I adore them.

Batgirl (2000) #1
#and then he's just as proud when she throws herself on front of the bullets to save a man#their dynamic is so out of the ordinary I want to bite them#like father like daughter#cassandra cain#bruce wayne#batgirl 2000#batman#batgirl#batgirl (2000)

Maybe some more of the mass transmigration au? Like how previous occupations (like Liu Qingge being a delivery driver) affects how they run Cang Qiong?
If YQY was a business major, he would be a lot more ruthless in his business negotiations + Qi Qingqi perhaps working in the mafia + Mu Qingfang and modern medicinal practices, etc.
it would be funny to see how modern occupations affect cang qiong and maybe how the rest of the world sees it
all I can say is MQF will definitely revolutionize healthcare (IN A GOOD WAY! )
I'll try my best to incorporate how their modern era experiences impact their lives now in ancient China but their jobs definitely don't match their current occupations so I'll have to get creative...
#yqy was originally gonna be an office worker but buisness man yqy is definitely some food for thought...#archerrambles#mass transmigration svsss au#when i was assigning them jobs i was more focused on them being just ordinary people#did i shoot myself in the foot with that one? yeah

people making posts on how they stan "ugly" Snape and how objectively awful he had looked, and then reblogging/making art where he looks like he should be in a museum for the people to pay to look at him, will always make me extra confused
#or even when he looks normal and ordinary honestly#ik beauty is a subjective concept but it's bold of you to suggest this man you've got here is ugly because his nose isn't non-existent...#even funnier with realistic renders and fancasts honestly#severus snape#pro severus snape#pro snape#i wonder if people would call character who is fat ugly with the same ease they call a charachter with hooked nose and greasy hair ugly tho#because calling normal features real people have ugly is surely a choice#and honetly the narrative doesn't insist that Snape is ugly he's called ugly like twice by harry and james#what it does insist on is that his hair is greasy nose hooked and skin sallow#which i guess makes people objectively ugly am i right folks:D#there is no way real people have those:D
