note: fun fact, this was left as a draft on my main for like over a year and i read over it and thought.... it would be better on here, but anyway, there's a lot of adult trio poly stuff, why not trouble trio? I have plans (just me announcing it, I already know it'll take years for me to actually go through with making said content) on making trouble trio content, fanfics and whatnot. so, here's a headcanon post about how the trouble trio would go with a polygamous relationship with the reader, nsfw themes will have a 🔞 on the side so look out! and when it comes to requesting anything similar to this..... no, i will not do the adult trio.

How It Starts

So, who are you? For them to actually even care about your existence, you would either have to be a part of the troupe or be someone they know way back from Meteor City, I highly doubt they would go heart eyes over some really stunning person they ran into on a mission or so, because looks aren't everything, right? A pretty girl, a handsome boy, or an attractive genderless person isn't gonna phase them in the slightest, unless you're powerful enough to woo them out their boots, other than that, the choices are; being apart of the troupe (which is the most likely case, since they have a chance of them all being with you more often) or you being a friend of theirs in meteor city and their feelings grew overtime.

Who would fall for your first? I'm honestly tied between Phinks and Shalnark, for Feitan it would take like 2 billion years for his crush to kick in since he isn't in tune with his more softer emotions (yet), Shalnark to me is.... odd... he seems like the type to fall for someone oh so easy but dude is like, the personified version of "don't judge a book by its cover," and the only thing Phinks got going for him is..... anger issues, so I'd go with Phinks on this one! of course when people (troupe members) ask him about his affections towards you, he denies them with the most obvious blush on his face, his infatuation isn't exactly that obvious but there are some hints like him wanting to be next to you more or even the two of you hanging out on your off days! next on the list: Shalnark, so how exactly would he fall for you? well, he'd probably get paired up with you more on missions and when he starts to hang out with you more he starts to feel himself grow fond of you more, and it slowly grows into a crush! kind of simple really. And finally after those 2 billion years are up, Feitan is up next! Everyone has this collective idea that if he realizes he has a crush on you, he'd do the opposite of his two counterparts; he'd want to avoid you so that the feelings won't grow stronger as he considers it a distraction, he may even contemplate on killing you, which is something I really hate to say since I feel like the idea is slightly far fetched for his character (i'm guilty of saying this myself but i considering the topic of that specific post i wanted to be dramatic) but I can see why people think this, killing you only goes if you aren't a member of the troupe but since you are, he'd have to deal with you, forcing himself to accept the fact as time goes by that he is in love with you, he's confused with his feelings when it comes to you, he isn't used to crushes, no one to him is that special for him to fall for, love is very sacred to him, it's something he and the others mentioned above haven't really experienced, and as it grows, he starts to form a soft spot for you as he gets to know you well, he starts to find parts of you that made him like you to begin with. (ik Feitan's is kinda longer than the others but I'm biased he's my fav).

How would they act around you? This was really hard to do for some reason but I already stated above that Phinks would hang out with you more and would be near you a lot, at first his affections towards you wouldn't be too different to how he acts towards others, for someone like him he's pretty good at hiding his infatuation, though over time he's starting to loose the "I have a crush on Y/N" allegations, the others would tease him a little for how he acts around you, he shows to have more sympathy and affection for you, like he's more handsy with you than everyone else, and is most definitely protective over you, he really is a girly girl, ain't he? Shalnark is a bit more happier when he's in your presence, he opens up with you way more than everyone else (when you two are alone ofc) and plays video games with you, he'll never give you a break and let you win though, he's just too good! (And competitive) May not be as protective as Phinks but he damn sure isn't gonna let you getting injured slide. Feitan once again is an interesting case, since he's come to terms with him being infatuated with you, the signs will be waaaay more subtle than Phinks', you would lowkey be left confused, like something tells you he likes you but you can't exactly prove he does, you're seen with him more often, he talks to you more, but in the beginning that's about it really, but overtime he gets more handsy with you like Phinks but not as much, he would most definitely tease you when he's in a good mood, giving you nicknames and such, and of course, very protective over you.

Confessing & Relationship

Finding out they all like you! When they start to see one of the other become more affectionate towards you, shit starts to get real, a scenario where Feitan sees you and Shalnark playing a newly released game, the both of you are so happy, laughing and all, and Feitan is hiding somewhere and just stares at the both of you, the worst scenarios are running through his mind, are they dating? do they like him? he wants to do something about it but can't because for one troupe members can't fight and two, he sees how happy you are, how can he ruin that? Another scenario is the old fashioned switcheroo where you and Feitan are getting a little too handsy with one another, he's got his hand on your thigh and your hand on his shoulder, Shalnark is now in Feitan's shoes, bad scenarios running through his brain thinking the two of you have a thing for each other, a part of him wants to step in but he can't. It's kind of subtle at first until everything starts to build up, they can see each other's jealousy seeping through, let's say Phinks was the one to save you from an attacker and Feitan wasn't quick enough, a glare is shot at Phinks' way as he sees the way he's holding you and reassuring you, and he catches it, he's confused, what the hell is going on? Another scenario where the troupe is having fun or whatnot and you and Shalnark are laughing about something a little too hard, he spots both Phinks and Feitan seething in jealousy, he's also confused! Until it all hits the three of them; they all like you!

Them finding out..... So, when they finally sit and conversate about the rising tensions between them to solve it, they come to the conclusion that you are the reason why, how will they go about this? They all have a goal in mind; a monogamous relationship with you, they are all trying their absolute hardest not to start anything between them, they were all on good terms until this very incident, they had no idea what to do about this, their own friends are crushing on the same person they want, and the tensions can only grow from here, and beyond this point things can go either north (good) or south (bad) really quickly. From here on out, they challenge themselves to impress you so that one of them finally gets you, an unspoken rule, until they realize that you like all three of them, and things grow extra confusing, they're happy because "yay they like me!" but also mad because "grrr they like him back!!" So everyone involved is kinda like.............. "omg??"

Poly? So, because everything came out, they all like you and you like all of them back, they're stuck here wondering how this will work, a polygamous relationship isn't even a thought to them because they just want to have you, and it may be one of your biggest fantasies, you eventually let it out that you want all of them at the same time and because of their confusion you would have to explain to them, they argue that it's not going to work well, since for one, they are all territorial when it comes to you, Feitan is most definitely the worst one since he's never exactly felt this feeling before and it's most likely his first crush and potential relationship, and since you're pretty special to him he doesn't want to lose you to someone else, in all honesty he'd probably kidnap you and hide you away from Phinks and Shalnark if you weren't apart of the troupe, so you can be his forever, yayyy, we love yanderes!!!! Phinks is in the middle, while yes he wants you to himself he doesn't want to admit that he would want to at least give it a chance, Shalnark is pretty chill, the idea of him having you to himself is nice also, but a polygamous relationship would probably solve all this conflict between them.

They Agree, so The Relationship Starts Here! So they decided that just for you, they would all agree to date you, of course at first this doesn't sit right with them since they want you to be with one of them, but they're also like... shit, I mean we all technically got what we wanted so we might as well make the best of it!

Small Miscellaneous Things

When they don't receive enough attention. Despite you all agreeing on a polygamous relationship, they all still get jealous whenever one is getting more attention than the other, when Phinks isn't receiving enough attention he gets more agitated, prone to more outbursts and will even straight up pull you away from the other, when Shalnark isn't receiving more attention, he would tap your shoulder or find ways to annoy you like hugging you or getting in your face, when Feitan isn't receiving more attention he finds ways to get yours by breaking something like a glass cup so that you can at least say a few words to him even if they aren't exactly the most kind, or staring at you for an ungodly amount of time to the point where you can physically feel his eyes on you, or like Phinks, will pull you away from the other so that you can be with him more.

🔞 What sex is like! Sex isn't too different from the usual, you can't really have group sex with them often since shit gets competitive real fast, they will go above and beyond to make you cum the hardest and scream the loudest, but when one or two of them so happens to be away, Feitan will make marks on your body to be territorial, so show the other two or to other people outside that he was the one who made that mark there, and it's even worse because he puts them in places that aren't exactly the easiest to cover, either it be a bite mark or a scar that spells out his initials. Shalnark will mark hickeys on your neck or will have photos of you having his cum dripping on your face or you laying beside him just completely slutted out and send them to the other two just for giggles, Phinks won't do anything outrageous (he can't you'll fucking die) but will have you wear his clothes afterwards to let the other two know when they get back who fucked them out ;).

Things start to get better! Overtime they start to realize that the petty fights over who gets to spend more time with you are meaningless, and that they all love you and you all love them, it takes them a while for them to come to these terms, but in the end, it gets better for the future, and everyone loves each other, movie nights aren't filled with who's chest you get to lay on anymore, sex isn't "who gets to make them cum harder" more, you don't feel as if you're some type of prized possession, you're now treated with actual respect and love and consideration, of course there's fights here and there like any other normal couple, but life is good.... for them anyway.

You were murdered! If they ever come into your house to find it ransacked, their first priority is to see if you're alright, they find your body laying in your room, devoid of all life, shit starts to get real, they never rest to look for the one who did this to you, since Shalnark has cameras hidden away around the house, it doesn't take long to find out who did it from hacking and such, and once they find them, it takes so much to not just rip their head to shreds and feed it to wild animals, Feitan wants to give them the worst of all of his tortures, and afterwards they die by their phinks blowing their head clean off their shoulders or shit maybe shalnark will do it.

Sorry for dropping it like this, I read the anon's story (who had to go to the doctor appointment. Sorry, hun, I don't know who you are or if you're reading this) and I'm SHOCKED and so angry at their neighbors. What... disgusting people. Ok, here's a little story. There was a time in my life when I almost stopped eating like for a month, because I was so scared and terrified and my anxiety was so bad I couldn't eat anything, I'd have like an apple for a whole day and that was that. I won't go into details, but, when the said situation got resolved, I started stuffing myself with food. I was just so hungry all the time. And I put on weight. And people noticed. And they had not so nice things to say about it. I was so embarrassed and ashamed of myself.

What I want to say now is this (to you, to anon, to ANYONE who might be reading this): your value is NOT determined or dependent on your weight or your physical appearance, it's NOT determined by a chronic illness, be it physical or mental, there's NOTHING to be ashamed of. You are beautiful just the way you are! Anon, I don't know if you're reading this, but I want you to know that you are beautiful. We're all human, we all can put on fat, and that's okay! You're still beautiful! Also, it can be so hard and frustrating to live with depression and to be afraid to leave your house, but, even though you have those things, you are not defined by them.

The anon was being very brave for leaving the house and going to the doctor, and I think it's something to be proud of! Their neighbors are the ones who's ugly, not the anon. The neighbors know this, and that's why they were laughing: to try and seem "better" than a person who is struggling, because they have so low opinion about themselves and such a huge level of self-hatred and self-pity they wanted to dump it all on someone else. This kind of behavior sickens me to the bone. That's disgusting and despicable and by this alone they come off as terrible people.

it's hard for me to articulate well, but i have had endless battles of my own with my weight for as long as i can remember. i carried "baby fat" (as they called it) well into high school, and it was...an extremely superficial, unkind environment (think me at size 10 being mooed at in the halls, which wasn't even the worst of the bullying i endured). i've destroyed photos of myself that i couldn't stand to see. my weight has also fluctuated, and at times been dangerously low from my chronic illnesses (some of which are GI-related, so of course that's all comorbid), yet when i was most ill was when outside opinions decided to highly praise me, as if frailty made me prettier, which...has led to some real anxiety about putting weight on. (this makes me think of when taylor opened up about her struggles with this - "I didn’t know if I was going to feel comfortable with talking about body image and talking about the stuff I’ve gone through in terms of how unhealthy that’s been for me — my relationship with food and all that over the years...I’m not as articulate as I should be about this topic because there are so many people who could talk about it in a better way. But all I know is my own experience. And my relationship with food was exactly the same psychology that I applied to everything else in my life: If I was given a pat on the head, I registered that as good. If I was given a punishment, I registered that as bad...You register that enough times, and you just start to accommodate everything towards praise and punishment, including your own body.")

even though i know, logically, that stress, hormones, anxiety/depression, illness side effects, the list goes on, can all affect that and are not my fault, it still preoccupies me. i've grappled with serious body dysmorphia and varying disordered eating issues since i was a teenager that i still contend with at times, and punishing myself in that way has manifested as a sense of "control" when other things become overwhelming, despite me realizing that's not healthy. those ashamed and self-hating thoughts can linger and plague us no matter what we look like outwardly. i say all of this so that you, and anon, can know that i truly empathize with these struggles, in countless ways.

you were hungry because your body was starving for nutrition! because we need that to survive. and i am so sorry anyone took it upon themselves to be unkind to you for something that warranted nothing but support.

Suppose Taco Bell was bought out by the Wizard Union. And they introduce a new item, the sentient burrito. It looks like a normal burrito, it tastes like a normal burrito, but it knows it exists and it knows when it's being eaten. Does it feel pain? yes. It feels every bit of pain a real living creature would feel, and it lets you know telepathically. When you touch the burrito you hear its thoughts, very clearly. But that doesn't mean you hear it constantly screaming the whole time you eat it, that would we weird. The burritos have been altered to feel masochistic pleasure when they're eaten. The burritos moan sexually and encourage you to keep eating them. Is it ethical to eat the burritos?

Huh. I really wanna make a joke about fucking the burrito, but there's actual interesting questions to be explored here.

Like, I've read a few spec fic works about creating or enslaving creatures-that-want-to-be-slaves, and I've always felt that creating such creatures is an obvious evil.

But like, real people can be sorta like that. Not entire groups of glad-to-be-slaves people, but like very subby masochists exist and as a matter of degree I don't think it's bad for them to have kids, even if those kids are likely to inherent it, because they're happy and expressing preferences and that's a fine way to be.

(Mostly this is because the answer to "is it ethical for this person to reproduce" is "yes" for almost everyone; including the disabled or what have you. There are a few people who I'd say the answer should be "no", but that's stuff like "You child is likely to come out in constant pain". If I look to have a kid with another person of Ashkenazi ancestry, I will test for Tay-Sachs because that seems highly likely to produce someone who would prefer not to exist in the first place. But for something like "Lifelong Quadriplegic", where the life is much harder but the person enjoys being alive, that's fine.)

So where does the line get drawn? I dunno, luckily we don't have a way to do that yet and probably won't for centuries, hopefully. But it seems... off? to make a line of burritos who exist only to get eaten. Do they enjoy other things? Could they enjoy music or stories told to them, such that they might want to experience those things more even they're to be eaten later? Can their lives be extended for that, or will they rot as a normal burrito does?

Hell, they would probably prefer to live longer just to extend the pleasure of being eaten, and if they enjoy the pain of being eaten there should be ways to accomplish that which take longer that they'd prefer, and if they can stay in that masochistic state they'd probably want to be alive longer.

So I'd say it's wrong to eat such a burrito, because it'd be better for them to have the opportunity to live a better life, and because unlike a theoretical human who asks to be cannibalized they don't have much opportunity to live such a life.

And either way, since I think creating such a species is morally fraught (what if you fuck it up? What if some small number don't like it and find life so horrid that they would prefer to never have existed?) it'd be wiser to not incentivize it by boycotting such a product.

A Brave New Start

Long time no see! It was about time I posted something here and, while it is fanfic related, it's not exactly the kind of thing I usually post. Now, look at this screenshot:

Brave New World is a very old Pokémon OC fanfiction I started working on back in 2017. It was a highly ambitious project that never really reached its destination, although I managed to write twelve chapters. Most of the tags don't actually reflect characters or events that one could find within these chapters, but rather things that would or should happen in the future. However, these things won't be happening now. In fact, if you go to my AO3, you won't find this fic. I deleted it on January 28th because I'm redoing this story.

Why January 28th? Because it's the day of 2017 I came up with the concept for this Brave New World's protagonist, Juliette Ronson. It's actually pretty silly: it all started because I saw that in one of the shops in SM they had both a cap and a pair of shoes themed after Zygarde. I suddenly thought, "What if I created a Trainer OC whose goal is reuniting all of the Zygarde Cells and having it as her partner?".

I actually started working on this story not long after, but then USUM were announced and I decided to wait and see what happened with Necrozma in these games because I really wanted to include it in the fic. Seeing its tragic backstory in canon made me want to portray it in a sympathetic light with Juliette being its biggest defender, but now that I look at my old notes I can see I gave it all a very melodramatic spin lol.

Many things will change for Brave New World, its main pairing being one of them. As you can see, I intended to ship Juliette with Kiawe. However, Game Freak has recently presented us with a character who, after some time, I came to see as a better fit for her (Hint: read the fanfic's summary and see if it reminds you of someone). I'd love to go on a tangent about this topic, but I'd rather save it for another day. This is not to say that Kiawe will no longer be a part of Juliette's life, they will be friends regardless. In fact, Juliette will still have a crush on him for some part of the story, but she decides it's best to let it go because of reasons (Spoiler: he's taken).

Something that won't change is having my friend as a co-author of the story. Not only she offers interesting ideas and good insight, she also allows me to have one of her OCs in it and I wouldn't have it any other way. My friend's OC is called Luana and she becomes Juliette's closest friend. Their personalities contrast and complement each other at the same time, making them an interesting duo. I can't wait to write about their interactions again!

That's all I have to say about Brave New World for now. I always try to work on the new version's draft here and there, whenever my busy student schedule allows me to lol. I will post stuff about the rewriting process from time to time because I'm pretty excited about sharing this renewed version. I think it will not just show my growth as a writer, but also as a person.

Things I Like RP Partners to Know

I like to be called: Captain, Kuro, Zach, Degenerate, w/e. I'm typically not nerved by really anything, mostly chill. (Went in-depth and tagged below cut)

One thing you should know about me: I really just write for passion anymore, I don't care about this whole Post+ stuff, it won't play a factor in me. Tumblr has really everything that allows me to write and further myself. However, it ever goes away, even if becomes Myspace 2.0, I'll probably still maintain writing here off and on in spurts. --Now if they shut-down, I might convert over somewhere that's identical, cause Twitter couldn't handle my girth. I'm mildly autistic and suffer from a few other conflicting health aliments, writing is my obsessiveness and remedy. Used to be gaming, but I became less of a gamer, and replaced it more for writing cause It's a place where I can contain and throw all my thought's to usage. My mind overlaps with so much thing's at once, I get side-tracked, misplacement, my concentration shifts horribly, before I know it, I haven't slept for twenty-four hours or more. Lot of stuff is just me being redundant by fault. Or I become overwhelmed with a story ideas, that impulsively takes me, but majority of my best thing's are sudden. Not the one's that are ever planned. But I don't live to make excuses never care to be defined, by one thing, or person. I don't aim to attain much of anything in life but be a better me, until my end. And by analyzing your mind, you can do or achieve a lot I've discovered. So I repetitively no matter what jog down my WIP's and unleash, or my errors, I put them all on badges displays, then I go back and repeat until I show progress. That's how I have to learn. But passion is a candle, so when it burn's out I lose a lot of what I learned, it's natural after that to be discouraged, but instead, for me, that gets me going again. Cause mean's I can come at thing's with a whole new mental perspective and different flow, then compare, and again, adapt and improve. One thing you should know about RPing with my character(s): Everything is a factor and story with me. Losses, they matter. My character originally was highly killable almost every session, but advanced due to the actions of others, because of them, he found the value of his own life, and that's how I like to do my characters. Even the win's my character gets from stories, will most likely have a 'bad ending' occasionally or result into something new sprouting from it eventually, however that doesn't define at-all how permanently it effects them. But seasonally they go through their struggle. Life for real, is up and down's, these are the component's I factor in. Realistically, sure we fall. We never truly decline unless we allow it. Our character's philosophies, their mental judgement, dislikes, etc, all these thing's become ingrained they decide how much they want too fight and live, they step to improve or sometimes stumble under roadblocks, but not truly devolve. So the more people he interacts with or meets and encounters in RP, they are factors, they're meaningful to meet again, or live, their short teachings are insightful. No matter how small or large or incomplete stories went or passed-by. I created a character who was filled in by others initially. Even one-shot smuts, they're important experiences. Lot more to appreciate when your character learns on their own how to surpass their weaknesses and suffering organically. When comes to interacting with anything Canon base, It'll always dwarf me though. Most likely I'll write my own legit WoL's, thinking of making an 'antagonist' one, but more 'protagonist too' (maybe hunk viera male?) I like making construed lines between characters, that's really complex, it's avidly up to a reader to decide who's in the right or wrong or if they're rooting for the villain or good-guy. I see most lore characters as Celebrities which my character would be rightfully cultured in, and they're untouchable, least for my characters. To me the source of what, who, or with you're writing is what determines a lot. But yeah RPing with anything Canon related, I switch to being a just minor gnat. And there's going to be a lot of consequences, that come if there's anything that does effect something that matters in the Universe. Just cause my pirate is causing havoc and having fun for now, doesn't mean law's don't catch-up or something else doesn't. Cause and effect always. so i was watching @super-metroid's stream of Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass (highly recommend by the way) and she fought Imaginary Numbers this time. I guess I just wanted to share my thoughts on it, since it's my favorite boss and all. This is gonna be a longpost and it's gonna have spoilers so the whole thing can be found under the cut.

So, to put it simply, this dungeon is about stress and confusion. It's about Jimmy's mind frantically trying to comprehend the high-level math that Andrew is teaching him on top of his schoolwork. Jimmy thinks that his dad is the smartest man in the world- this is hyperbole for sure, but the fact that Andrew is quite intelligent remains clear. Jimmy looks up to Andrew because of his intelligence- and because of this it means a lot to Jimmy to be praised by Andrew. He wants his dad to view him as intelligent as well, because, if a man as smart as Andrew thinks Jimmy is smart, he can't be wrong! And hell, it feels nice to be validated by your parents.

Clearly, Andrew has already recognized Jimmy's talent with numbers and has started teaching him concepts beyond the second-grade curriculum, something that we see in the flashbacks in the Symmetrical Cavern. However if Imaginary Numbers' design is anything to go by, these concepts may be at or above the high school level. They're too much for Jimmy to understand. He's only eight, and his mind just isn't ready for that yet. Still, he feels the pressure to keep up with- and understand- the work that Andrew gives him. Why? Because he fears failure. He worries that if he admits to his father that the work is too hard, Andrew won't see him as a "smart boy" any longer- and that praise and validation means a lot to Jimmy. He doesn't want to lose it.

Let's start with the song that plays during this nightmare dungeon- Counting Backwards From Infinity. From the erratic bassline to the random samples of people shouting numbers in no particular order over and over again, this song simply screams disorder and panic. As a person who has always struggled with math, it's incredibly relatable. Counting Backwards From Infinity always reminded me of taking math tests in high school. I was so slow that I almost never could finish a test in a single class period. The frantic, wild bass and the cacophony of people screaming numbers out of order reminded me of trying desperately to remember how to solve a type of problem- and do it quickly enough so that I could hand the test in before the bell rang. I imagine that this is how Jimmy feels when Andrew places in front of him a concept that the boy does not fully understand. Perhaps he's had it explained to him several times but still can't fully grasp it (likely because, again, the kid is eight). The wild confusion and stress he feels when he doesnt fucking understand what's in front of him and doesnt want to look like an idiot in front of his dad. Even the name of the song is a reference to the fact that at this stage of his life this stuff may be an insurmountable task.

The dungeon itself is also set up in an incredibly confusing way. There's a bunch of bizarre-looking purple structures and winding paths. You teleport all over the place with no particular rhyme or reason. The enemies in this area, too, are deformed geometrical shapes that are almost Lovecraftian in the way that they cannot be understood. To Jimmy, Andrew's teachings might as be as comprehensible as a Lumpagon or a Squiggles, and that's definitely the idea that one gets here. The confusion, the pressure, the panic.

At one point in the dungeon you're teleported to a fakeout area that looks like the Path of Enlightenment. This is my favorite thing about the Asymmetrical Cavern, because of the fact that it has so many cool secrets, but also because it gave me a feeling that I could (once again) relate to. Jimmy's teleportation to the Path of Enlightenment isn't random. It represents familiarity in a sea of confusion. Jimmy sees something he recognizes during Andrew's lessons. Maybe he thinks that he's finally got the hang of it- that he's studied hard enough and now all of this jargon makes sense- only to be rudely awakened by the fact that he's been doing it wrong and never understood the concept in the first place. Even the secrets kind of hint at this. If you speak to pointman in this part of the dungeon he says "I am the blood of numbers leaking from your ears. The nails of ignorance are already being driven into your brain. What point is there in giving voice to madness?" (which is metal as fuck by the way)

Jimmy just thinks that his inability to understand makes him an idiot. His lack of understanding- the nails of ignorance- are being driven into his brain. If he can't understand all of Andrew's teachings, maybe he was never a smart boy after all.

And finally let's talk about Imaginary Numbers itself. First of all, it's an amalgamation of a bunch of different mathematical symbols, including a tombstone, a slashed epsilon, and a sigma. I'm sure there are more, but those are the only ones I recognized, honestly. Given that dreams don't really make things up, instead just taking things that you have seen/experienced before, it looks like Jimmy has encountered some... seriously advanced shit. Tombstones are used in geometric proofs. I only started doing proofs in high school geometry, meaning that Jimmy may very well be learning concepts meant for kids twice his age. No wonder the poor kid is stressed.

Oh yeah, also the boss sucks ass to fight. I've heard some people call that bad game design, but I'm not sure that's how I'd classify it. Sure, like I said, the boss sucks complete ass to fight and is almost entirely RNG-dependent. From a gameplay standpoint, this is wack as hell, yeah. Fucking 30% chance to deflect any magical or physical attack with a 30% chance to dodge a physical attack on top of that? Definitely bad game design. But from an artistic standpoint? Not at all. In fact, the futility of this fight adds to it. It really drills into your head that the only thing on your side here is pure fucking luck. And the odds aren't in your favor.

The feeling of futility- of the fact that this may in fact be, by all definitions, an insurmountable task for Jimmy, really struck home the situation. The battle would not be nearly as impactful without this. And personally, I'm all for it. Imagine walking into the Asymmetrical Cavern for the first time, not knowing what to expect. You get your ass handed to you on a silver platter by Imaginary Numbers after it chains Program Omega at you five times in a row.

That's the feeling Kasey wanted to give you. And it's critical. It's just... so perfect, I honestly don't know how to put it into words. It was supposed to represent the confusion and turmoil of a task nigh insurmountable. And it did the job pretty damn well, if I do say so myself.

I know Jimmy is good at numbers and this wasn't supposed to represent a real struggle with the subject of math/the concept of numbers in general, but hot damn if I didn't feel seen. Except Jimmy is eight but I was like 17 struggling in precalc with the same shit. I guess we know Jimmy's smarter than I am rip

TLDR; andrew please stop putting unnecessary stress on your kid youre freaking him out

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

OK, it's no secret that I was inspired after watching the O&Y episode, but it might be a surprise to you that I'd already HAD the idea of writing an Amnesic Marcy AU. I was originally going to go down a 'Sleeper Agent' route but after watching O&Y and seeing The Core in all its awful glory, seeing the binary codes and just the fact that this computer was being uploaded into Marcy really inspired me to work with the computer allegory that you see in O&O.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

Ignoring that my other fics so far are oneshots (or an unfinished AU), I think what makes it different is probably just sheer amount of stuff I’m throwing into this? I’m trying to cover so many different aspects from character development, to relationships to plot lines that it’s kinda insane. I’ve said in the below question, but I also have some special teachings that I’m working into this which I try and stand by myself which is what makes this fic special to me!

11: What do you like best about this fic?

I've already said in another ask that I love the POV changes and the angst - but another think I love about this fic so far is the underlining lessons(?) I'm trying to include in there. I don't know how much of them people have picked up on yet (there's a key one I know some people have spotted so far) so I won't say anything more, but let's just say I have another lesson to teach you all which will come into play. :)

15: What did you learn from writing this fic?

So, is it bad if I say I learnt that I'm actually pretty good at writing and I've learnt to be more confident with it?

I've always loved writing but I've always been way too scared to actually share it with anyone, so O&O was kind of a test for myself. It's the first fanfic I've ever written and published, so to see people commenting and enjoying the work I've written has definitely bumped my confidence.

I'm still learning though, I can already see how my writing has improved from the first chapters of O&O to my more recent chapters, so I'm excited to see how much more I can evolve my style!

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

OK, I don't know if you've read this one Lex, but the real reason I wanted to talk about this oneshot, is I because I wanted to shout out about my inspiration for this one.

My original inspiration for this was a nice little tweet by Kayseix where they'd basically said, imagine a specific angsty scenario. So, me being a happy little angsty writer thought, yes I can do that.

Then I made the mistake of reading @ghostadventurespirit0rb's fic there's just too much that time cannot erase as well as MidnightCrossroads' fic they see you when you're sleeping. The defining factor of these two fics? They are angst written in second person - and they both absolutely destroyed me.

So, they basically inspired me to try writing in Second Person which lead to this angsty oneshot! All three of them are amazing writers, which I highly recommend, so go check out their work if you haven't already!

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

This ties into the above question! It's all written in second person, which is something I don't typically do! It amplifies the angst I'm trying to inflict on you portray in this fic. :)

This is a continuation of this post, because that was getting far too long so I thought I'd split it up.

When it gets to autumn it's time to get honey and wax.

Early autumn mind, so the bees have plenty of time to build up depleted stores ready for winter.

Geralt puts bee escapes in the hives they're collecting from (basically 1 way gate things that gets all the bees out of a super so they aren't there when you take it away), but obviously not in all of them because not all the colonies are strong enough to give honey.

Of course Jaskier insists upon helping Geralt carry the supers into their house because there are quite a lot of them.

Only it turns out that honey is very heavy and he doesn't have the upper body strength to lift a super and then carry it any distance. So Geralt takes it off his hands.

In his defence he did try very hard to lift a full super. Definitely gets points for effort, if nothing else.

The kitchen then gets covered in cardboard and sheets are hung up to cover the door frames. It is also thoroughly cleaned so the honey is free of bacteria and stuff.

Now it's time for spinning.

Geralt is old fashioned in his beekeeping and so has a hand powered centrifuge. Which means that he needs to spend a while spinning the honey round and round to get it out of the wax. It's pretty hard work and his muscles look very good.

This is the best picture I could find on the internet of a centrifuge. Mine is a little different and has a lid to help avoid spillages but its currently underneath a lot of stuff because I won't need it for several months. Anyway Geralt would spin the handle that's on the side.

Jaskier is on holding the centrifuge steady duty because he's strong enough for that, and not trusted with a knife. It also gives him a chance to look at Geralt's muscles but shhh.

Yennefer for some reason is trusted with a knife, so she's cutting the caps off the cells. (Honey gets little wax lid things put on it by bees to preserve it, called caps. This needs cutting off so that the centrifuge gets it out properly. A hot knife is best to cut through wax because it melts ot a bit.)

Ciri is in charge of giving Yennefer the honeycomb to cut the caps off, removing the wax that had been spun from the centrifuge from its wooden frames and giving hot water to Yennefer to heat up her knife.

Which sound like a lot but it doesn't take much to move around frames, and the hot water only needs replacing every 15 minutes or so. So it's only 1 proper job really.

This makes it sound a lot calmer than it was. It was highly highly chaotic.

For one thing, honey gets fucking everywhere and is very sticky. But it's also surprisingly slippery when theres above a certain amount in 1 place.

Jaskier keeps eating bits of honeycomb with honey in which slowly makes him feel sick from all the sweetness. But also now hes got beeswax in his mouth and nowhere to put it. And if you chew beeswax for long enough it gets all crumbly.

Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer's hair gets honey and small bits of wax in it even though its tied back. None of them can go outside in case bees or wasps find them and follow them back inside to where all the honey is.

When all of the honey has been spun, and then transferred into a settling bin (a smaller tub that you put honey in to let bits of wax rise to the top so its easier to get them out of the honey) it's time to deal with the sticky wax.

Geralt and Ciri normally make beeswax candles together, but the wax needs to not have any honey in it otherwise it smells of burnt sugar when it burns and smokes a bit.

So they need to separate out the honey and wax by melting it. (Wax is hydrophobic and less dense than honey so it rises to the top and when it solidifies you can take it off in blocks. This often needs to happen twice.)

They all gather up the wax that Ciri got out of the frames and squash it into some metal dishes that Geralt has for wax melting. (I do not have this sort of thing, but I figured Geralt probably would. Instead I use dishes that are also used for food which are always a massive pain to clean.)

They then get put into the oven which is on very low, and left for a while. Geralt takes them out when the wax has melted because it's a lot of hot liquid that really needs to not be spilled especially because wax is very hard to get off stuff.

There's lots of metal wires in the wax that need taking out with great care, so of course Jaskier underestimates how hot the melted wax actually is, reaches into the wax to get the wires out, and promptly burns himself.

Ciri takes out the wire with a fork so that she doesn't burn herself.

She also takes out the wax that hasn't melted, which is bad for making candles with. (I have no idea why there is wax like that but there always is. Its generally a different colour too.)

Once its cooled down, Ciri takes the wax and cleans it. (Theres always gunk inbetween the honey and wax when it separates.)

Every year as a treat, Geralt lets Ciri choose one extra candle mould when she makes candles. At this point she has about 10, because she started off with more than 1 anyway.

This year she decides on a light house because she doesn't have many tall candle moulds.

Jaskier gets wind of this and decides he wants to get Geralt one. So he gets the THORNE catalogue and looks at the candle moulds. (THORNE is a supplier of bee stuff. There's so much stuff you can buy from them, including a bee suit with knee pads built into it. They sell candle moulds too, along with wicks.)

There are a lot of potential candles for Jaskier to choose from.

He's very tempted by the 'lovers' one because he is giving it to Geralt.

But then he turns the page and sees a candle that has been censored for the magazine.

And it is called '50 shades of wax'. So of course Jaskier has to get it because hes almost certain Geralt's reaction will be priceless. (This particular candle is one that I saw in a THORNE catalogue. I have no idea how many people would ever want to buy it, especially because you couldn't see what was going on because it had a red box covering most of it that said '18+' on it.)

He orders it separately from Ciri's though, because it needs to be a surprise and also he doesn't want to explain to Ciri why he got it for her dad.

When it arrives he shows it to Geralt just before they're about to go to bed.

Geralt isn't really aware of books that have come out even slightly recently, unless it's something that Ciri likes.

So when he sees what it's called, and especially without knowing what it looks like (it's a solid mould and a relatively complicated design so it's difficult to see what it is) hes just really confused.

Because of course you can dye wax so that it's different colours, but those aren't really shades?

And beeswax does come in slightly different colours, but that's normally impurities in the wax, rather than the wax itself being a different shade.

So Geralt just looks at it in confusion for a long time.

Jaskier eventually puts him out of his misery by explaining why it's called that, and roughly what it will look like.

But by this point the mood Jaskier was hoping for has well and truly been spoiled.

But at least he got a laugh out of it, if not how he was expecting to.

That's probably enough for now? I'm definitely gonna add more. They still need to feed the bees and actually make candles. Among other stuff.

How to study when you have no idea how to study

(This is kinda for a pretty serious study session, so if you're opting for a 45 minute study plan then this isn't for you, sorry)

First things first, find a place to sit.

You may have already created a perfect study space for you, but sometimes it isn't enough to get "into" the studying part.

Find a spot where you think you can spend some quality time for the day, and collect every possible thing that you might need to study.

Textbook first, followed by your class and handmade /digital notes + paper and pens and highlighters and midliners and whatever floats your goat tbh. Make sure you have all the content that you need to study with you.

Clear up your study space.

Get rid of everything that's not going to be required. This includes all those other books on your desk, your planner (if you haven't included anything about your study session in it) and anything that is taking up unnecessary space. Your study area needs to look as neat and motivating to you as possible.

Keep a tiny water bottle nearby, along with some nuts or maybe junk food. You know you won't transform into the perfect student overnight, it's okay to enjoy a bit.

Getting "into your element"

First of, determine your test's portion. Sometimes the entire chapter isn't included in the exam, only a part of it is. Know what part you're supposed to study.

The textbook is your bible. My teachers always say that no matter how many reference books and notes I refer to, the best information I can get is using the textbooks. So open them (for real) and see for yourself.

Tick the topics you are going to cover in the textbook.

Start reading the textbook, and by reading I absolutely do not mean skimming through it and considering it done. You know it doesn't work that way.

Underline stuff you find important with a pencil. You obviously can you highlighters as well, but what happens then is that whenever you refer back to your textbook it's this big mess of neon and it will make reading difficult for you. Use a pencil, make boxes around subtopics, underline phrases, make doodles to explain stuff, go crazy. Studying can be fun if you want to have fun doing it.

Retain what you just learned

You may have heard of this method before, and trust me when I say it's helpful af.

You just went through the textbook, now write down the main points on a blank sheet of paper. Only the main topic, subtopics and examples. Whatever you feel outlines the topic.

This is how my outline looks :

Try to condense the info down as much as possible, kinda like you're making a cheat sheet.

Also, if possible do not loose this paper, because it will help rewiewing the chapter later on when you sit to revise.

Find out what you need to understand now

Chances are you have retained maximum information already, but hunt down the text for anything you do not understand clearly. Mark it for future references.

Use all studyblrs' favourite Khanacademy and CrashCourse videos to clarify the topic. You can use a friend's help, and in the end teachers are always ready to help out!

Mark this chapter as done in your study planner, if you do not have one I'd highly recommend making one as it is tremendously helpful. Mine looks like this :

I'm gonna apologise in advance for the shitty photo; my main light is dim and I have an orange lampshade so the colours are off. I'd say it is true to colour to how it looks on lolibrary IRL

As for if I would recommend meta; for quality, yes. This JSK is very well made and is probably the highest quality lolita piece I own (and I own a few big burando pieces, including AP, AATP and BTSSB as well as a few pieces from Lady Sloth). The print is super crisp, and the lace is cute and soft. I kinda wish I had the opportunity to wear it out more often, but lockdown is lockdown.

However, I am literally at the top end of being able to fit into this and I'm a UK 8/10 who is flat chested. I am broad shouldered and on the taller side (5'8), but I mean it when I say I have to fight the zipper a little to get it all the way up and breathing is not as as easy as it is without it on. It's not as bad as my BTSSB oldschool JSK which I had to extend the straps on by 3 1/2 inches to have it sit on me right, but I am fond of breathing. I know meta's store has a plus size section nowadays but if you're looking at the 2nd hand market that's something to keep in mind. I think lolibrary suggests a max bust of 92cm and they ain't kidding. They ain't. It also doesn't fall anywhere near my knees because, yeah, 5'8, 33" inseam.

I, uh, am unwilling to attempt to wash this myself too; I don't trust the red to stay where it is, so you should also probably take into account dry cleaning costs too if you're looking at bright coloured pieces. I probably wouldn't want to wear it out in the rain either.

If you're a cheapskate like me I'd recommend checking out 2nd hand Japanese sellers, the big one being Closet Child. I've regularly seen big brand pieces, including JSKs and OPs, go for less than 3000yen (about £20) on there if you time it right; I've gotten a brand blouse for 100yen on there before. Closet Child (and Wunderwelt, though I prefer Closet Child cos it's cheaper and restocks more stuff on a daily basis) vet their stock so you won't get any fakes. Lacemarket is also a good shout, although during the pandemic a lot of people aren't shipping outside their continent or country and if they do it's very expensive. Popular prints are also highly inflated in price on there IMHO.

If you're fancying playing it a bit riskier, yahoo auction jp, rakuten, fril and mercari also have brand go stupid cheap - I got this JSK in mint condition from a rakuten store called Tokyo Alice for about 7500yen. You will need to use a shopping service to purchase from these sites but I find it comes out cheaper than the western secondhand market even with shipping and fees. I personally use Zenmarket for yahoo auctions and rakuten and Japan Shopping Service (JSS) for fril and mercari as both allow you to reduce the declared value of goods (fuck HMRC), but I can also vouch for Buyee and I've heard good things about White Rabbit.

So yeah TL;DR buy yourself some meta. Shop smart and get CHEAP meta. But not Night Carnival in navy. If you see that tell me about it instead lol
