Yeah knowing nothing about the author, I was genuinely taken aback by how much casual Gender there is in Dendro. Not just in the sense that crossplayers are common enough for Cheshire to have a boilerplate "this is not like crossplaying in other games and might give you actual factual body dysphoria" warning, but how central the self-described both-but-not-exclusive identity ends up being with characters like Hugo and Claudiah. It's very neat, it makes the world seem generally rich. It's nice to see a story that is welcoming to the idea of queer people and weird genders kind of... casually :) Like, of course infinite possibility would also mean trans people are a thing. Very interesting to see a presumably cis perspective on gender mutability and gender fluidity be expressed as "neat thing other people do with their identities".

I’m going to indulge in some shallowness and say that being thin basically is attractive. But this is because being thin is associated with being physically fit and with being healthy. I propose the root principle is that looking healthy is attractive. This can occur at many sizes and shapes.

A lot of people that are just thin actually look very sickly, which, and I am being shallow and my thoughts on this do not matter, I do not think is attractive
