Effective Study Routine: Tips on How to Study Effectively for the Upcoming Exams Without Cramming.
Exam is approaching, many students is already cramming, but cramming is not a good decision if you want a higher score. It's not the most effective ways to retain the topics that you have studied. You can start planning and have a strategies so you don't need to stay up all night studying. Here's some tips on how to study effectively for the upcoming exams without cramming:
1. Create a Study Plan
To avoid cramming on the day before the exams, It is effective to have a study planner to stay organize, where you can plan the topics and lesson that you need to study without feeling overwhelmed. You make this Study Plan 2 or 3 weeks before your exam. You can break down the topics. Start with the hardest topics. You can use an app, planner, to-do list and many more to track the lessons that you need to study.
2. Set a Goal
Making a goal can make you more productive. A goal should have a clear timeframe. You can set a deadline to help you stay focused and to avoid procrastinating. You can study 3 to 5 topics a day.
3. Avoid Distraction
Having a lot of distraction can make you lose your focus and motivation to study. Go to a quiet place and comfortable area, make sure the area is clean and organize to help you concentrate on the topics. Avoid using your gadgets and other technologies, this can pull away your attention and can reduce your productivity and focus.
4. Active Learning
Learning is not just memorizing the material. Understand the materials and do some exercises to test your learning. This includes problem-solving, discussion, and applying what you've learned to real-life situation. This can help understand the topics better by encouraging you to think critically.
5. Consistency
Being consistent can have a huge impact in learning. Instead of cramming, you can study everyday to avoid being overwhelmed by the topics and lessons that you need to study. This can help you retain your memory. By reviewing everyday you're not only ensuring that the lessons stays in your mind but this can also boost your confidence. By following your study plan you're also being consistent.
6. Sleep Early
Having a enough rest is essential if you have an exam. Sleeping early before the exams can help you improve your performance. Having enough sleep can help you have a better focus and concentration, stronger immune system, and reduces anxiety and stress.
7. Be positive
Positivity can have a great impact in your performance. Positivity can fuel your motivation and help you stay focused on the exams. This also reduces stress, a positive mindset can lower anxiety making the exam easier to answer. Surround yourself with positivity, surround yourself with the people who inspire and encourage you and do positive self-talk.
By adding these habits in your daily routine not just when exam is coming, this can guaranteed you a higher grade and high confidence in answering any of your school works or exams.

Comments versus Bookmarks on AO3
A few people seemed appreciative of my post about how to use AO3's Marked for Later feature, so I thought I'd follow up with another tip about comments versus bookmarks. As part of the amazing @justleaveacommentfest I noticed a few people mentioned leaving nice comments in bookmarks, and I thought it might help to have a little info about how comments are different from bookmarks, and why it's better to send a comment if you want to make an author happy or make fandom friends or have an interesting discussion.
Bookmarks *are* viewable by everyone, unless you make them private. If you plan to say anything negative in your bookmark, please make it private. It's not really the flip side, however, that leaving positive statements in your bookmarks will reach the author, though.
Most authors are alerted when they get new comments, either through their dashboard or via email if they choose, or both. Yay! Serotonin boost, and also the ability to reply back and start a conversation! Plus, readers can have great discussions with each *other* in the comments section of a fic! If you're super into a fic you can read comments on the chapter even years later, and sometimes find the author adding additional thoughts or discussing their thought process while writing! It's like DVD extras for fanfic! (Do kids these days know what DVD extras are any more? Damned if I know).
You don't really know, as an author, when someone bookmarks one of your fics. Some authors, particularly when they are feeling low (cough cough) may also look at bookmarks to see if there are nice things there. This would basically just involve clicking on the bookmarks for each of your fics individually to see if there's anything a.) new and b.) nice in them.
This is an act of desperation. It's not really a wise thing to do, as 99% of bookmarks have no comments, or just list the title and author in fear of the fic being deleted some day and not knowing what you're missing. Even worse, if you, as an author, get desperate enough to cruise your bookmarks, you are as likely to see someone say something like "Meh" or "This got boring so I stopped reading at Chapter 5" or "Too many werewolves 3/10" in a werewolf fic than you are to see a nice compliment.
So, if you loved a fic and want to memorialize your love in a bookmark, be an extra super-duper sweetheart and cut and paste that into a comment for the author! Make the AO3 environment enriching for both authors and fellow readers in the comments section, and protect your friendly local author by not providing intermittent positive reinforcement for the negative behavior of scrolling through bookmarks!
I still recommend bookmarking fics. Bookmark those favorite fics you want to come back and read later, or use bookmarks to leave yourself little reminders if they are nice or in private bookmarks if they are not nice. Bookmark good resources, like how to code things in html or how to use AO3 filters most effectively. Find awesome new things to read by looking through the bookmarks of your favorite authors, because if you vibe with someone's writing you may also vibe with their favorite fics to read!

midnight thoughts: [heeseung + drunk words]
synopsis: real sweet, but you wish he was sober (alternatively, you take such good care of heeseung while he's drunk that he decides to tell you how he really feels). pairing: heeseung x gn!reader genre/warnings: hurt/comfort (?), f2l (ambiguous but still cute i promise) / EMETOPHOBIA TW (nothing happens but throwing up is mentioned, be cautious <3)!!!, drunk heeseung lol, tiny skz mention (my worlds colliding), um alcohol consumption (?), sunghoon is the dd don't worry there is no drunk driving! wc: 1.4k (el oh el)a/n: inspired by model student heeseung in the first couple en-o'clocks who is unreasonably attractive but also ? a dork . that is all. (love u hee stans this one's for u hope u're doing okay lately w ur man acting the way he is.)
[1:16AM] six shots of tequila and a raspberry smirnoff ice deep, and lee heeseung is gone. strong surges of heat rush to his cheeks to create a dizzying push and pull effect, rivulets of sweat are beginning to drip from his temples, and he's trying his best not to vomit up the fried chicken jake and sunghoon made him eat earlier. heeseung finds solace on the cool tiles of the kitchen floor; he clutches the crisp fabric of his white button down and attempts to will away the waves of nausea that are crashing against the walls of his stomach. breathing in through his nose and out through his mouth, heeseung's thoughts begin to drift back to a familiar place. he can almost feel the phantom sensation of your fingers carding through his hair; the tips of your fingers are refreshing and imbue him with a tranquility that he isn't often privy to.
"holy shit, dude—did we really let you get this fucked up?" heeseung vaguely registers jake's voice as two warm fingers reach under his jaw to check his pulse. inwardly, heeseung chuckles—leave it to biomedical engineering major, pre-anesthesiology track jake sim to presume death over everything else. glancing up, heeseung watches the genuine concern that flashes in the younger boy's gaze. "c'mon heeseung, we gotta get you home, bro. good god—[y/n] is actually gonna murder us …”
heeseung curls in on himself at the sound of your name, hiding away from the prodding of jake’s fingers into his upper arms. he wants to press his face into the crook of your neck, he aches to feel your hands cascading up and down the length of his spine, he yearns so desperately for a chance to indulge in a tender moment of unity with you. heeseung closes his eyes to relish in the way the memories seem to envelop him in a ghostly embrace, and he swears he only blinks once. the bass-boosted music and headache inducing strobe lights become mere background accompaniment to the movie playing behind his eyelids.
he swears he only blinks once, but the familiar aroma of your perfume begins to permeate his senses—bergamot and vanilla, his favorite. voices come into focus, his head starts to pound, and the reality of being splayed all over the backseat of sunghoon’s benz is setting in at the speed of falling molasses. "what the hell did you let him get into?" there's a certain venom in the question that bites at his jugular. he recognizes the cadence of your voice and the way you suck a sharp breath through your teeth with ease. "sigma kappa zeta is so out of hee's league—you couldn't have taken him to alpha tau zeta or tau chi tau or someplace that bang chan doesn't run?"
"he said he could handle it!" sunghoon counters.
you let an incredulous scoff escape your mouth as you berate the two boys in a hushed whisper, "and, you believed him? he obviously wanted to impress you idiots. god, i'm starting to think jongseong is the only one of you with a functioning brain ... "
"[y/n]!" jake exclaims, "so not chill."
"no—what's really not chill is tweedledumb and tweedledumber letting heeseung get wasted at his first frat party." you scold, voice cold as ice while jabbing an accusatory finger in their faces. jake and sunghoon hang their heads like dogs being told off for chewing up furniture; in any other situation, you might have had the inclination to chuckle, but you don't. "now, help him up to my couch and leave before i get even meaner."
everything is blurry as heeseung stumbles his way up the stairs to your apartment; sunghoon and jake are bickering with one another while supporting each side of his body—who is tweedledumb and who is tweedledumber, who let heeseung drink this much booze, who will have to recount tonight's escapades to jay, and who will have to give pity laughs to his impending dad jokes? they curse at one another until you mention the possibility of a noise complaint, and all the incessant chatter stops. in the midst of a spring night, only cricket song remains. heeseung focuses on the quiet chirping until the cool leather of your couch cushions begins to soothe the molten liquid that seems to course through his veins. goodbyes are exchanged and a door is closed somewhere far away, but heeseung's head is too heavy to lift.
he blinks again and opens his eyes to the rough fibers of an old washcloth running over the peaks and valleys of his face. the fabric brushes along the deep circles carved beneath his bloodshot eyes; concentration knits your forehead into a multitude of different creases, and heeseung can't help the pitiful chuckle that tumbles from his mouth. an airy sensation overtakes his being as he realizes that he's right where he had wanted to be all evening—with you. embarrassment still settles like an indestructible boulder in the pit of his stomach, however; shame's spindly talons sink into heeseung's flesh as he realizes just how much of a fool he's made out of himself.
"just—just wan'ed to be cool, [y/n]," heeseung slurs out, voice plagued with exhaustion. bringing his knees to his chest, heeseung attempts to keep his tears at bay. "just wan'ed to show you that i c'n be cool 'nd awesome 'nd sexy! but, now 'm just looking stupid on your couch ..."
placing the washcloth on the arm of the sofa, you move to rest heeseung's head in your lap. he gladly accepts the comforting gesture, cuddling into the soft cotton of sweatpants he realizes are his. combing your fingers through his roots and scratching at his scalp, you whisper, "for the record—i already think you're cool and awesome."
heeseung glances up at you, face swollen and eyes puffy. "really?" he asks, "so, you don't think i'm a stupid, un-sexy idiot that can't hold his liquor?"
"well, you can't hold your liquor," you muse with a hint of laughter in your voice, caressing the supple skin of his cheekbone, "but, no. i don't think you're a stupid, un-sexy idiot."
basking in the reality he was just confronted with, heeseung's drunken mind can only focus on one thing. his desperate need for clarification tempts him; desire's forked tongue beckons him towards the truth. the question repeats over and over again in his brain until it spills out—an unwilling victim of an inebriated perpetrator. "so ..." he drawls, attempting to wink but closing both eyes instead, "you think i'm sexy?"
and, you laugh. it's a euphoric sound—a beautiful melody reminiscent of spring picnics, gingham blankets, and the fragrant scent of blooming tulips. for a moment, heeseung loses himself in it; coherent thought escapes his grasp as he is overtaken by you. your touch, your warmth, the bleary image of your smile as it comes in and out of focus. you wash over heeseung in waves, an ocean of calm in a world that only seeks to burn; alluring siren song floods his mind as you call out to him over the sound of the blood pumping his ears. the cool tips of your fingers are beginning the quell the heat beneath heeseung's skin as consciousness begins to slip away from him, and a dopey grin is woven onto his lips.
"heeseung," you murmur, the ghost of a bout of giggles hiding behind your words. "hee, baby, you should really let me get up to grab you some advil."
the term tumbles from your mouth before you can help it, and you freeze. having revealed yourself, you're overcome by the desperate urge to run—but, heeseung has given you nowhere to go. his weight traps you, holding tight and pressing harder by the second. half of you wants to hear him say it back, while the other hopes for the couch cushions to swallow you whole. heeseung—though not a man of many surprises with his perfect grades, perfect attendance, perfect everything—manages to stun you tonight.
"wan' you t'call me that again, [y/n]," heeseung mumbles through sleep, "please."
"you want—" your voice catches in your throat, "you want me to call you baby?"
there's a beat of silence so long that you're almost sure heeseung has fallen victim to the salivating jaws of sleep, but he groans. the utterance is low and deep—dripping with what seems to be a concoction of mild annoyance, exasperation, and endearment. "'s all i've ever wanted, [y/n]," he replies, eyes closed and nose buried into your sweater, "you're all i've ever wanted."
another pause.
"okay," you say, meandering through the quiet for a moment, letting yourself wade towards him in this new sea of possibilities, "baby."

Canada’s postsecondary institutions have a responsibility to protect students and others on campus from the risks of post-COVID condition as a matter of campus safety.
Canada’s Chief Science Advisor, Mona Nemer, recently released the report, Dealing with the Fallout: Post-COVID Condition and its Continued Impacts on Individuals and Society.
Post-COVID condition (PCC), also known as “long COVID,” refers to the poorly understood and often serious health damage left by the SARS-CoV-2 virus after the acute illness appears to have passed.
Universities, colleges and schools have a duty to take reasonable precautions to protect students, staff and faculty from foreseeable harms. They must ensure the water on campus is safe to drink. They must install fire and carbon monoxide detectors and make evacuation plans. Many have adopted a smoke-free policy on campus as part of a commitment to an international charter on health promotion in universities and colleges. Yet there is little pandemic health promotion on Canadian campuses.
The authors of this story bring together expertise in higher education, engineering, biomedical sciences, medicine and the health humanities. As a few of us noted in a recent peer-reviewed article on the pandemic for BMC Medicine, “COVID-19 is airborne, transmitted primarily via infectious aerosols that move through the air like smoke.”
As with any other pathogen (or smoke, for that matter), if it can’t get into your body, then it can’t make you sick. The Chief Science Advisor’s report recognizes the vital importance of reducing PCC cases by reducing infections.
Post-COVID condition A COVID-19 infection can be the tip of a very large iceberg. A Statistics Canada report last year indicated that Canadians have lost millions of school and work days because of PCC. PCC has a long list of possible symptoms, including negative effects on brain functioning, mental health, as well as cardiovascular and lung health.
The Chief Science Advisor’s report notes that “with each SARS-CoV-2 reinfection, the risk of developing PCC is cumulative.” Postsecondary students are particularly vulnerable to repeated COVID-19 infections because of shared living spaces (dorms, student housing) and frontline work (waiting tables and retail jobs, for instance), and transmission can be boosted by extensive mixing due to complex timetables and crowded spaces on campuses.
While we lack specific data on sick days and long COVID cases at the postsecondary level in Canada, national data suggests over 40 per cent of Canadians were infected over a three-month period last winter. There are about two million postsecondary students in Canada.
Postsecondary students are inevitably affected by the multiple surges in infections each year, and so are losing days to acute COVID-19 illness. And, with each infection, they are at increased risk of PCC. This is key to understanding the pandemic’s ongoing disruptions to education and well-being for the current generation of college and university students. A study of U.S. university students with PCC noted symptoms such as “difficulty thinking, fatigue, feeling anxious” and “memory loss,” consequential for academic performance and overall well-being.
Reducing infections
We have abundant high-quality peer-reviewed scholarship from a range of disciplines to help us reduce infections. Building on this evidence base, the Chief Science Advisor’s report calls for “protective measures through steps that government, institutions and employers can take.” These protections include “improved indoor air quality,” better “public messaging” and “effective masking in crowded spaces.”
Improving indoor air quality includes increasing ventilation rates, adding high quality filters to the air handling systems, the use of portable air filtration units, germicidal ultraviolet lights, and the monitoring and public display of carbon dioxide levels in all living and learning spaces on campus. Improving indoor air quality has been shown to reduce in-classroom transmission of COVID-19 by at least 80 per cent in schools.
Free N95 masks and updated vaccinations should also be made available, and their use promoted on campuses to improve awareness and access. Communications should educate students on reducing their risk. Drawing on faculty expertise from all disciplines, and with little financial cost, postsecondary institutions can implement and model best practices on all of these fronts.
Organized, evidence-informed efforts are also urgently needed to accommodate students whose coursework has been significantly affected by infection or PCC. PCC includes a wide range of symptoms at varying levels of severity, so no cookie-cutter approach will work well.
The pandemic’s ongoing effects Institutions lack even the most basic data about PCC on campus. How many people on campus are already affected by PCC and to what degree? How many are on extended leave or had to withdraw or resign because of it?
Transdisciplinary faculty and student expertise and lived experience can help institutions to understand the pandemic’s ongoing effects. This is a necessary step to the development of more inclusive and effective approaches to mitigating the harms of the pandemic.
Without efforts to reduce students’ risk of getting sick — and to meaningfully help them when they do — we can only expect more population-level problems with well-being, ongoing health-care needs and academic success. These effects have the potential to ripple into the general workforce, adding to population and economic consequences. While the pace of research on COVID-19 has been and continues to be fast, new discoveries will not erase the lost educational days and other long-term harms that are already putting pressure on this generation.
The burden of PCC and the pandemic will will shape the next half century, and it is in everyone’s interest that our postsecondary institutions start working now to limit these harms.

Hey, students who are heading into Finals Season™ here's an important reminder:
Your grades do not matter as much as they say. In four years a D will be no different than an A for all your degree will matter. Do not sacrifice your mental or physical well being for these tests.
The way we approach education in the US is cartoonishly at odds with everything we know about learning. You deserve better, and it's a shame that our country takes such a punitive approach to everything education.
That being said, here's some study tips you may already know from a neurodivergent trainwreck who spent Too Long in academia:
Studying for twenty minutes a few times a week is vastly more effective than cramming. But assuming it's too late to break it up over several days, at least break your study sessions up throughout the day. We don't actually build memories during the learning, we build them after the fact. You need downtime in between to effectively encode what you're trying to remember.
Eat. Eat carbs and protein. Get yourself A Little Treat. Cognition requires calories. And balanced meals with both protein and carbs typically give you the best boost.
Drink hydrating fluids. Seriously. You would not believe how much hydration improves cognition.
Rest. Rest as often as you can. Look if your nerves are going through the roof and you can't sleep that's valid. US Education is structured in disastrous ways that specifically cause and exacerbate anxiety. Rest is still extremely powerful. Get comfy. Get ready for bed as you normally would, and even if you don't sleep just rest with your eyes closed and day dream about a society that doesn't weaponize education
Mnemonics devices are your best fucking friend. Most folks' memory isn't really designed to just cram an immense amount of information (from multiple different subjects) directly into your short term memory. You have to glitch it a little and mnemonics are how to do that.

Pushing the Limits (Part 6)
This is my first time ever writing smut so please be easy on me because this is nothing but pure smut
Azriel x Reader
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 7
-------
You let Azriel deepen the kiss and felt him harden in an instant as your hands entangled in his hair when you wrapped your arms around his neck. He walked you backwards a step before lifting you easily, your legs wrapping around his waist as he carried you into his room. His low growl reverberated through you when you pulled away and began to trail kisses down his neck, nipping as you went.
“Fuck,” he groaned as your arousal filled the air and he placed you on the edge of the bed. “Gods, I can’t wait to taste you.”
His words earned him a small gasp that he chuckled at before he began your previous actions. You trembled beneath him which only seemed to boost his ego while his hand slid from your waist and made its way slowly up your body. Your back arched when he cupped your breast and he grinded his hardened length into you. A quiet moan escaped you and it had him grinding against you harder.
He had barely done anything and your mind was already spinning with lust, your previous troubles forgotten. Impatience seemed to take hold of him because he lifted you up just enough to pull your shirt off, groaning at the sight before him. Azriel didn’t bother with working his way down your body but instead latched onto your breast with a force that took your breath away. He sucked one harshly while teasing your peaked nipple on the other momentarily before he was pulling your shorts and panties off.
“If you’ve wanted me this bad after all of this time, Princess, all you had to do is say so,” he chuckled darkly as he ran his fingers through your wet folds.
Another moan escaped you that was slightly louder and you silently cursed yourself for feeding into his ego so much. In an attempt to gain some form of an upper hand, you grabbed the hem of his shirt to pull it off. If you were honest, you wanted to see every inch of him and feel all that you could but it was something that you would never admit. A curse fell past your lips at the first flick of his tongue through your core and you couldn’t help the involuntary thrust of your hips that had him pinning them to the bed.
You had to bite your lip to keep any sound that wanted to escape you and as if he already knew, he gave a short laugh before he began to devour you like he had been starved for years. It had been long enough since the last time that you had been touched in this way that it didn’t take long at all for you to fall over the edge. He continued to work you through it until you were a shaking mess up under him.
“Has anyone ever told you just how good you taste?” he asked, his mouth hovering so close to your ear that his hot breath sent another wave of heat through you.
“That seems to be the general consensus,” you answered cockily, refusing to let him think that he had the upper hand.
His reply was simply crashing his lips to yours, leaving the taste of yourself on your mouth before he pulled away and easily slid off his pants. Your mouth watered at the glorious sight of him, a look he missed because his eyes were too busy trailing your body. If you didn’t know any better, you’d say he was committing it to memory. His eyes settled on your shoulder for a moment before turning his attention to spreading your legs and settling himself at your entrance.
“How do you want it, Princess?”
“Hard.”
The voice that came from you wasn’t one that you recognized but you gave him a challenging smirk anyway because you knew the effect that you were having on him. Your heart warmed a little bit when you noted that he was careful to place his hand above your shoulder so he didn’t hurt your already nasty looking bruise. You continued to hold his gaze as he slid in inch by inch, giving you time to adjust whereas he hadn't the first time. He pulled out to the tip and thrust back in. Hard.
Azriel’s pace was just as fast as the last time but the only difference was that he would slow just every so often enough to pull out slowly and thrust back in just as slow. It made it easy enough to realize that he wanted to enjoy it more thoroughly this time. You almost shuddered when he leaned down to whisper in your ear.
“What was it you said about sub-par?” He thrust in hard to prove his point and it pulled a whimper from you that he seemed satisfied with. “You’re being such a good girl for me.”
His praise pulled you over the edge again and you knew that it had pulled him close enough to his own pleasure when his hard, unrelenting thrusts began to falter. Your head fell back at the immense pleasure but he wasn’t having any of it.
“Look at me,” he growled, the sound nearly pulling close to your own pleasure yet again.
You did as he said but the challenging look never left your face, especially when the curses fell past his lips. Another groan left him when you pulled him closer and twisted your fingers through his hair and pulled just as harshly as he had done to you.
“Cum inside me.”
“Fuck!”
Those three words were his undoing and you smirked in satisfaction as his body shuddered while he filled you. You still kept your eyes on his as he pulled out but once you saw his hand reaching out towards you, you stood to collect your clothes with his seed running down your legs in the process. A sound came from the male standing behind you sounded like confusion and you had to will yourself not to grin as you pulled your shirt back on.
“I guess I’ll let you level up one level,” you said cockily.
“You’re leaving?” he asked in an icy tone.
“It’s just sex,” you replied nonchalantly, waving your hand in dismissal. “It’s not that deep.”
With that, you left him standing there alone again. Sex was one thing because you would be able to keep your emotions out of it and even if you wanted to stay, that would be what would bring any sort of emotions other than disdain out of you.
The night’s events calmed your mind enough that you fell asleep easily despite the nightmares that continued to plague you.

naruto wingfic headcanons
wings (and other hidden things) - lemon_ee - Naruto (Anime & Manga) [Archive of Our Own]
reference ^ for more context :)
Summing up the AU, wings are permanent and solid chakra constructs that evolve over a shinobi's lifetime. They are directly connected to chakra coils, and gain additional colors when a person goes through a life-changing experience or becomes more powerful. Kakashi seals his wings (which can be done b/c they're chakra based) to hide them, similar to his face.
Wings show a lot about your social status, connections, and personality. Small movements can indicate emotional expression (though these can be controlled with chakra and most shinobi choose to do that), and allowing someone to touch them demonstrates a lot of trust, as attacks can damage them permanently. Color changes can result from a traumatic/dramatic/generally life-changing event or a huge development in power level.
The ANBU tattoo is a strengthened wing seal. The typical jounin seal only temporarily puts their wings into a “pocket dimension” of sorts, which still allows for the wings to form while hiding them effectively for short-term high-ranking missions. The ANBU seal redirects the chakra that flows to form the wings, preventing them from existing at all. ANBU seals are much better, because the jounin version still allows the wing chakra to be sensed. Kakashi just keeps on using the ANBU version even when he’s not on missions.
Kind of already included in the story, but cool/beautiful wings = being attractive. Kakashi went around without his wings for half his life so he never really experiences this. After he starts having them out more, he goes through a sudden increase in propositions, much to his students’ consternations. Of course, wings are also related to some bedroom activities ;)
If Kakashi had looked at his wings when he still had the Sharingan, he would’ve seen a mess of molting feathers and immediately resealed them. The reason is because the Sharingan eats away at his non-Uchiha chakra reserves, keeping him in a constant state of half-chakra. To reflect this, his wings are weaker and lose feathers constantly. After his Sharingan was taken, the chakra drain lessened considerably, and Obito’s chakra boost essentially restored his wings. Also, if he did have his wings out, he would likely become chakra-drained much faster because a portion of his reserves would be dedicated toward manifesting wings.
Obito has always thought Kakashi’s silvery wings were super pretty. Obito was super disappointed when Kakashi started sealing them after his father passed away, so he only has vague memories of fluffy silver wings. You can bet he was screaming and having heart palpitations in the afterlife when Kakashi does his wings reveal during the Kaguya fight lmaooo
Shinobi can absolutely fly, it just takes more chakra than most are willing to sacrifice. It’s also not super good for fighting, because there are a number of long-range jutsu that would bring them down immediately.
Rin’s wings were purple. Side note: when shinobi die, their chakra wings disappear. When she was forcibly made into a jinchuuriki, the tips of her wings started greying and painfully molting. It was too dark for Kakashi to tell.
The orange tips on Naruto’s wings are a little more red than Obito’s were, but it was still enough to remind Kakashi of Obito, playing into his guilt complex.
The black on Kakashi’s wings actually crept further up the more grief and trauma he went through. So after his dad’s death (btw the silver reminded him of his dead dad! and his wings were stained with blood when he went to report his father’s suicide, which didn’t help the rumors later on in the older generations of shinobi…), he starts sealing his wings and never really notices the black. It increases after his entire team’s deaths. The white dots are for every person he’s killed with chidori/raikiri, so I guess it really is a good thing he doesn’t know exactly how he got them (though he probably can guess). The blue underside is the influence of Obito’s chakra and the entire life-changing experience of the war.

-- study tips!
this'll be a bit of a longer post. during my time working at my learning center, we were taught to help students implement these strategies to have more effective study sessions. below the cut i explain all of them in a little bit more detail so hopefully you all will be able to try some of them out as the school year takes off!
music
how easy is it to remember the lyrics to a catchy song you hear all the time on the radio? even if it's not a song you particularly like, the chorus can wiggle its way into your memory. try transforming the concept you're learning into the lyrics to a song you already know.
visualization
everything happens twice: once in your mind and once in reality. try to visualize the concepts you're learning.
metaphor, analogy, simile
this method can be used to connect the unfamiliar with the familiar. (blank) is like (blank).
reciprocal teaching
this method is my favorite. grab a classmate, friend, family member (anyone that will listen really) and explain the concepts you're learning to them. encourage them to ask you questions to get yourself doing some critical thinking. we remember 90% of what we teach to someone else.
roleplay
motivate yourself to more actively participate in your learning. put yourself in the shoes of your professor and make practice tests, or in the mind of whoever discovered the concepts you're learning.
writing
we remember what we write much more than things that we simply read or even type. writing connects the brain and the body.
story telling
it is easy for the brain to remember stories with a beginning, middle, and end. this method works great for concepts that are processes. turn your concept into a little story.
mnemonic devices
mnemonic devices include acronyms and acrostics. these are great for remembering lists.
visuals
there's a reason textbooks these days have so many pictures! images help the brain remember and connect new information with something you may have seen before.
movement
motion connects the brain and the body. make easy to remember motions to go along with the concepts you're learning.
graphic organizers
graphic organizers are another one of my favorite study methods. mind mapping helps to better organize the concepts you're learning and makes it easier to connect key points.
drawing
drawing and making diagrams helps to further visualize and organize information.
games
games help lower stress and increase retention. things like kahoots, quizlet live, matching games (etc.) can help you enjoy studying a little more.
projects
project based learning is a very active learning strategy. think of things like science fair projects. when professors assign projects try your best to put your all into it.
field trips
field trips are another way to lower stress and increase retention. visiting museums dedicated to what you're learning is a great way to boost your interest and morale.
work study
getting more intimately involved in your field of study greatly increases your critical thinking skills surrounding it. for many fields this looks like getting involved in research, TA'ing, or becoming a tutor.
humor
what's more memorable than a good joke?
discussion
this method is a lot like reciprocal teaching. find a classmate, or someone else how has about the same level of understanding and talk about the concepts you're leaning.
manipulatives
there's a strong connection between what our hands hold and brains comprehend. manipulatives includes anything that can be touched and handled, like science models or interactive kits.
technology
using technology can look like a million different things, such as using apps to facilitate learning (like quizlet or duolingo).
i hope someone can find even one of these things useful as they continue with their academic journey. feel free to leave me any questions comments or concerns!

My GCSE exams are next month and I am absolutely terrified! I'm worried because they kind of determine your life and I only really have the ability to sit the basic exams (English lit, English lang, higher mathematics and combined science higher) as I I haven't been in school since I was twelve and have to take them in a community centre. I'm obviously hoping to get the best grades I can- I'm doing quite well in English and being predicted 7s and 8s, but in maths and the sciences I seem to be stagnating at 5/6. I've been studying, but I was wondering if you have any extra tips for actually sitting the exams ? Or any specific maths/science tips?
P.s I adore your blog- you write so eloquently! Sending lots of love <3
Absolutely. I didn’t take GCSEs—we don’t have them in Ukraine—but I did take A Levels, and I’m now at an English university where I’m surrounded by people who took GCSEs, and I’ve tutored a few students for their GCSE exams, too. All this is really to say that I understand the system and expectations, even if not completely personally, and I definitely understand the pressure and anxiety you’re currently feeling.
First, I highly recommend trying my method for exam revision. I’ve found it to be extremely effective, I’ve recommended it to friends and students to great success, and it works especially well for exams like the GCSEs, which demand a certain level of precision and adherence to the specification. Your overall pace and approach should be steadily consistent, and focused on memorisation—GCSEs, especially in Maths and the Sciences, value regurgitation and do not reward creative deviation from the mark scheme. If you do a manageable amount of active revision daily, then you’ll find everything to stick in your memory far better than if you were passively revising or cramming at the last minute, and you’ll feel well prepared and capable when you walk into the exam hall.
Secondly: GCSEs are some of the most widely-taken exams in the world, and this is absolutely to your advantage. There are a myriad of excellent videos, study guides, and pre-made notes and flashcards that perfectly match the specification and are tailored to the examiners’ expectations. Of course, in an ideal world, it’s best to make your own notes and flashcards—and you may well have done so—but if you haven’t, then don’t waste these last few weeks making them, when you could find a set for free or very little money being sold by a former GCSE student, and spend your time on more active revision. As for videos and online resources, I’d recommend treating them as you might a personal tutor; find the answers to your questions and help with the areas you struggle with, all through the material specifically intended for GCSE specifications. I can’t stress enough how knowing your specification and mark scheme off by heart—knowing which topics fall within which paper, knowing what is necessary and what is superfluous, knowing the exact phrasings and expected presentations of your ideas—is the key to doing well in GCSEs. You do not need to be a genius; you need to have worked both smart and steady.
This advice stands for all subjects, really, but it’s especially pertinent for Maths and Science. Do as many past papers as you can, and do them actively—complete each paper twice over: first, entirely blind, and second, after having read the mark scheme/examiner’s report and watched videos on areas of particular difficulty. This is the most effective and efficient way to boost your grade; I’ve had students go up by 2–4 grades just through daily, disciplined past papers and tailoring their revision accordingly. When doing the paper blind (i.e. the first time around), mark a star next to each question you found particularly difficult—that “oh, gosh, I don’t even know where to start” sinking feeling—in the moment, move on to complete the paper without stopping to look anything up, and only afterwards look up the specification number for that question via the mark scheme, and go through videos, practice questions, and notes/flashcards until it’s clear enough that you can do it without hesitation. Make sure that you know your formulae off by heart, even the ones given on a formula sheet, because it will boost your confidence and actually wastes a fair amount of time to be searching for the formula you need.
When it comes to the exam itself, my advice is really quite simple, and most likely you’ve heard it all before. Eat enough, sleep enough, drink enough. Stay calm in the morning, eat whatever breakfast you can stomach (I tend to have a boiled egg and a cup of matcha), and stay calm. Resist the urge to go feverishly through your notes, try not to talk to anyone else taking the exam (this is hard, I know, but their nerves can easily put you off), and breathe through it. I also highly recommend bringing a sports-type drink and some glucose tablets, if the exam is long; our blood sugar can drop during periods of extreme concentration, and you want to remain alert to the very end. When the exam is over, walk out of the hall, immediately forget everything that you’ve just written, take a nap if necessary, laugh at the memes on Twitter (the biggest benefit of doing such a widespread and massive set of exams, in my opinion), and move on to what’s next. GCSEs put you into a rhythm and the quicker that you can fall into step—regurgitate, tick off, move on—the smoother and more successful it will be.
Good luck, anon. You sound like an incredible student, and I have every faith in your ability to do well. Feel free to DM me or send another ask if you need anything else from me—and let me know how everything goes 💕

The Surprising Study Snack: Chocolate for Better Memory | @researchatory
Level up your study game with a little dark chocolate! Research suggests it can enhance focus and memory retention. Just a small piece might give you that extra edge. 😉
#StudyTips #BrainFood #ChocolateLover #MemoryBoost #DarkChocolateBenefits #StudentLife #CognitiveFunction #StudyFuel
That's fascinating! It's always interesting to see how everyday things can have surprising effects on our cognitive abilities. So, a little bit of dark chocolate might actually be a study buddy in disguise. It makes sense that increased blood flow and those stimulating compounds could give the brain a little boost when it's working hard.
It's good to know it's not a magic bullet, though. Consistent effort and effective study techniques are still key. But the idea of a small, enjoyable treat potentially enhancing learning is definitely appealing!

My own reimagining of the Triumbric stones and Eclipse armor
It's been a long time since I posted something original. For this post, I wanted to overhaul the Triumbric stones' powers (specifically, what the individual stones give) and rework the Eclipse armor’s power. I was inspired by a post by @az-daniels-yeeter where he talked about his headcanons about the Triumbric stones and it's cool.
For starters, let’s talk about the Eclipse armor in this rework. While the daylight armor (or Trollhunter's armor because I don’t think it's ever really referred to as the daylight armor in the series) is made from daylight, the Eclipse armor is made up of sunlight, the pure concentrated energy of the sun. Some of you might be thinking, “Well, what’s the difference between the two?” my answer is that sunlight is stronger. What I mean by this is that the daylight energy that comprises the daylight armor turns trolls to stone, whereas the sunlight energy that comprises the Eclipse armor legit burns them to ashes; just one nick on the tip of your finger from the eclipse blade can incinerate an average trolls arm.
Another difference between the daylight armor and the Eclipse armor is that any weapons manifested while the Eclipse armor is active can petrify a troll as if it were the sword of daylight. If memory serves me right, weapons made with daylight in the show does have the same effect as if it was the sword of daylight, yet it was circumstantial. If it's circumstantial, then it’s unreliable, and it leads me to believe that weapons made with daylight aren’t as powerful as the sword of daylight.
I don’t think we ever got a legitimate reason why the sword of daylight can not kill Gunmar in the show. So the reason why Gunmar can’t be killed by daylight in this overhaul is because Gunmar is so incredibly powerful. Attacks from the sword of daylight are like cuts, and the resulting petrification is like small bruises that his natural healing factor can make it go away. On the other hand, Sunlight affects Gunmar the same way daylight affects an average troll.
It’s a power creep, I know. But that doesn’t mean it comes without any risks. Just because the Eclipse armor doesn’t affect the Trollhunter who wears it doesn’t mean it’s harmless to others. The Eclipse armor constantly builds up Sunlight energy as it has less control over how much energy is produced unlike the Daylight armor, and if that energy is not used to conjure and strength a weapon, the energy will build up in the armor to the point where it is dangerous for others to touch the armor, and then to a point where it will start to burn the wearer. In order to combat this while still wearing the armor, the wearer has to put energy into the weapon. This in turn strengthens the weapon. However, if not careful, the armor’s durability will weaken, and it takes a bit longer to regain that energy as a-pose to when its conjured.
Now, it’s on to the Triumbric stones. First on our list is the birthstone. The birthstone boosts the Trollhunter’s durability and healing factor. “Gift’s the wielder the skin of Gunmar” if you want to be short and cryptic. The killstone gives the Trollhunter an incredible boost in strength.
Now, it’s time for the Eye of Gunmar. I put more thought and effort into this than the other two stones (evident on how short the last paragraph is). The Eye of Gunmar gives the Trollhunter the powers of Gunmar meaning that who ever’s got it can absorb a heartstone’s power. With that much power of a heartstone’s energy, you could heal from fatal wounds, or regrow parts of the body. However, the bigger the part of the body is missing, the longer it takes to regrow it, unless you use a whole bunch of the heartstone’s energy to hasten the process, but then you’d be burning up that energy. The eye of Gunmar can also give away heartstone energy to heal and revitalize others, or to overload a person by giving them more energy than they can handel, sort of like how Gunmar almost exploded Dictatious in the hero’s forge in season 3. It also holds residual traces of his memories and instincts, allowing one to fight like Gunmar.
The Birthstone and Killstone’s abilities are passive and activate when the Trollhunter dons the armor, whether that be the normal Daylight, Eclipse, Moonlight, ect. The Eye of Gunmar, on the other hand, activates as a reaction to the user’s animosity, anger, and/or survival instinct kicking in at the current moment and deactivates when the user has calmed down. When this happens, there is a sunburn that appears on the area of the user’s right eye in the shape of the Eye of Gunmar when it was chiseled, signifying that it is now active, fading away only when the user has calmed down. Depending on how long and how much the Eye of Gunmar is used, the sunburn could get worse. While the Eye is in use, the users own anger and animosity is amplified, throwing away their own morals. It doesn’t matter if their just training or sparing, or if someone’s begging them not to kill them, they wont stop attacking until their opponent is dead. Unless a loved one intervens and talk some sense into them.
The Eye also connects the mind and souls of both Gunmar and the wielder, allowing them to feel what emotions he feels or would feel, and see what he sees. In order to see through Gunmar’s eye, one would need to be in a state between anger and frustration, and calmness, sort of like how you would try and calm yourself from frustration, along with having your eyes closed. What was just said, can also be reversed. As in how Gunmar could feel what the wielder feels and see through the wielder's eyes. Though the part where he would see through the wielder’s eyes can only happen if the Eye of Gunmar is still active, and relaxing with his eyes closed (though I kind of think he would just pace around to calm down).
This type of connection is very dangerous, as the soul is at risk of being corrupted by Gunmar’s own evilness, making the wielder act more and more like him, making it harder and harder for loved ones to calm the wielder down. If it’s not dealt with while the corruption is still small, then the soul will be permanently tainted and can’t be purified. A good, and only, visual indicator for how much the soul has been corrupted is how bad does the sunburn mark on the area of the right eye. If the mark looks like a type 1 sunburn, then the corruption is small and can be cured with minimal to no damage to the soul. If it looks like a type 2 sunburn, then the soul can still be purified with minimal damage to the soul. If it’s a type 3 sunburn, while it still can be purified, the soul will have some noticeable damage to it. If the mark is a type 3 sunburn and fades to a type 1 when the Eye is inactive, most of the soul has been corrupted and nows the time to really seek out a master wizard for help. Type 3 and fades to a type 2, it’s time to put them down. Type 3 sunburn and stays that way after the amulet has been taken off, you should have killed them when you had the chance. If the mark is still a type 3 sunburn, but now the eyelids are now colored burnt black, the sclera (white part of the eye) is black, the iris is a ghostly blue that emits a flame with the same ghostly blue color just like Gunmars. Congratulations, you’ve got a new Gunmar on your hands to deal with.
Welp, that was my overhaul of the triumbric stones and the Eclipse armor. Let me know what you guys think.
