🎭 3MA Authors Unmasked 🎭

The ballot box is closed, the votes have been counted, and it is time once again for authors to be unmasked! We are incredibly grateful to the 30 authors who wrote 117,556 words across 41 fics for this round of TUA Masked Author. Among the 3MA authors, we were privileged to have an amazing eighteen authors who were new to the event (including three authors who took the plunge of publishing fics for the first time!), our first collaboration, seven second-time submitters, as well as five dedicated authors who have taken part in all three rounds. The fics they wrote made us laugh, cry, and deepen our appreciation of the show and fandom we all love, for which we say a sincere thank you!

This round proved tricky for would-be investigators (one fic evaded detection entirely -- Remembered Burning by Blue_feathered_corvus managed to fool all the guesses), but some were still able to suss out deep-hidden hints and canny clues that lead them to the truth!

Reigning champion @melivian dug deep into the fics (and assembled another spreadsheet or two, we hear) and successfully defended her title as the most successful guesser for 3MA! Huge congratulations to her for guessing correctly on 83% of fics, unmasking the authors of an incredible 34 fics 🎉

In second place was Lee, who correctly identified 22% of 3MA fics’ authors, followed closely by @destinyandcoins, who came third with 20% correct!

Over the next week, we will be reblogging all fics that were promoted through tumblr with the name of the author, along with statistics such as the top guess and % guessed correctly.

I think it's also notable that her expectations for marriage is "the stenography and typing skills I'm cultivating will be useful for work!" instead of more typical housewife skills and having children immediately. It's 1897 and she can't have a career while married, but she's trying to juggle both.

She wants a partnership with Jonathan as her top priority!

Exactly! This is a noteworthy detail that really establishes a lot of Mina's characteristics for the whole novel.

Mina wants to marry Jonathan, she loves him with all of her heart, but her priorities in this future marriage are quite different from one may expect from a lady of that time.

Instead of writing to Lucy about the transition from schoolmistress to housewife, Mina talks about typewrites and shorthand, and training herself like lady journalists (👀), so she can become adept in basically documenting information (👀!!!!).

Why is Mina doing all of this? Because she intends to work alongside Jonathan in his solicitor job. Since lawyering is a profession with a lot of paperwork, then Mina decides to cultivate similar skills as much as she can in order to take charge of that part of the job.

It's incredible how, while she is sad for leaving her current job, Mina isn't lamenting that she can't work because she is (correctly) expecting to work with Jonathan. Housewife skills, home care, and children are last things in her mind. Mina is ready for marriage life, and all of the stuff that comes when you, and your spouse are working in the same space.

The HC of Danny’s hair gaining white streaks but with him being in Gotham.

He keeps dyeing it back to solid black, because he doesn’t want to attract attention by resembling a rouge or vigilante. He has to touch up the roots every 3 weeks so absolutely no one knows.

At some point Danny ends up running out of dye and his roots start to show through so he makes an emergency stop out of his usual way to pick up more dye.

Danny ends up literally bumping into a man that sets off a light version of his ghosts in the hair dye isle, he hadn’t run into anyone that set it off in Gotham yet and ends up having no idea how to react. After a few minutes of uncomfortable staring and silence Danny just awkwardly asks the guy the first thing that came to his mind, basically asking the guy if he’s buying dye to cover up the evidence of his death too.

Jason is now panicking because this scrawny kid just:

1. Thinks Jason died (the kid is right, but he shouldn’t know that)

2. Admitted/thinks that he died (the kid either did die or thinks he did, both are concerning for very different reasons)

3. Has evidence of white in his hair just like Jason (the kids eyes are blue, so his bungee jump back from death’s probably not related to the pit. Hopefully)

And 4. looks like someone Bruce would kidnap off the street and put in a colorful costume (probably the most worrying. The kid looked like a strong wind would blow him over, he wouldn’t make it as a bat or bird)

Fic where Wanda does not get snapped. Westview happens during the blip.

At some point before Westview, Wanda visits Tony at the lake house (maybe she wants him to make the government give her Vision's body back). Tony, deep in his grief and just wanting to be with Pepper and baby Morgan, doesn't help as much as she wants him to.

Before leaving, already very unhinged, Wanda offers to take Tony's memories of Peter away. She phrases it like an act of compassion, since she can sense the depths of his pain. But Tony perceives it as a threat. And it's one that, especially during and after Westview, he knows she's powerful enough to achieve

So, he calls a wizard. He begs Wong to do a spell to protect his memories of Peter from ever being harmed by magic

Fast forward to NWH. Tony has been in a coma ever since the battle with Thanos. He finally wakes up, and he's so grateful to be with his family, but he doesn't understand why a certain teenager is not there

It doesn't take long for Tony to realize that no one else remembers Peter. May is dead. The kid is alone, erased, forgotten by everyone

But not by him. Because of a witch's threat and his own paranoia, his memories are safe.

And now it's time to go get his kid
