Okay but the fact that it's implied to still be the 2010s/early aughts in Gwen's Timeline (she and Peter are still teenagers, the style is slightly older, technology is slightly less advanced) makes the aspect of Gwen being trans and her Father being supportive of it so much stronger. Like even these days if NYPD officer wore a trans flag pin on his uniform he'd get flack for it, can you imagine how much worse it would be ten years ago? But he loves his daughter and wants her to know he supports her no matter what so he wears it anyways. And like. It also puts the 'you put the badge on so someone worse wont' comment in such sharp relief. Captain Stacy is doing his best in a broken world, and has to learn to realize that just being a good man isn't enough if he's supporting a broken system, the same system that wants him to arrest his daughter, that think she's a threat to the public. He has to pick her over that system and he does and it's so good.

📌MINOR ATSV SPOILERS AHEAD 📣
Okay but the fact that Hobie Brown and George Stacey canonically met at the end of atsv is so funny to me
Gwen's dad referred to Hobie as "a piece of work" (that's what I remember at least) so I really wonder how it went??
Was George referring to Hobie's appearance? His attitude? How was his attitude? Was he rude? Flirty? (Gwen's dad is hot and Hobie doesn't believe in heterosexuality sue me)
I just-

I still think about how Gwen's dad pointed a gun at her, and then got mad when Gwen didn't want to talk/look at him.
Like, sir, you pointed a GUN to your teenage DAUGHTER. You raised your gun back up after she unmasked.
Like, you found out Spider-ghost was your daughter and you still thought she killed HER best friend?? And on purpose??
You had a duty as a police man to what?? Shoot your unarmed teenage daughter if she tried to leave?? Instead of trying to let her explain at least??
Even Aaron let Spiderman go when he found out he was his nephew, and he was the villain.

Headcanon time
Gwen when sleeps, she has the habit to grab the nearest thing (or person,) and hug it/them, and she will NOT let go.
Her dad discovered this the hard way after watching television together until late in the morning, with Gwen taking his arm to hug; something she always did ever since she was a kid.
Except that now he can't move his arm, because his daughter has super strength now.
If this happened to Miles, in theory he could free himself from her, except that he doesn't have the heart to disturb her.
Miles; seeing his beautiful girlfriend hug his middle section as she takes a nap after a long day patrolling: Well I guess I am stuck forever now.

Alright, I know a lot of people are headcanoning Gwen as trans, but what if her Peter was actually the trans one?
Gwen's entire story is a trans allegory. I'm pretty sure a lot of people in the ATSV fandom have already established this, but I'm just gonna go over it again in my own perspective.
Peter Parker was Gwen's best friend, and the two of them were so close that Peter and his aunt May would often eat dinner with Gwen and her dad, Captain Stacey and close enough for Captain Stacy to feel a very deep connection towards him.
Tumblr media
I couldn't find a gif, but this scene showed Gwen, Peter, May and Captain Stacy eating dinner together MULTIPLE times, one of those times being Gwen's birthday and another time being Halloween. They are obviously very close family friends.
One could go as far as to say that their closeness could mean that Captain Stacy may have seen Peter as a son to him. Him dying had a huge impact on both Gwen's and Captain Stacy's mental health, which shows that Captain Stacy had as deep of a connection to Peter as Gwen did.
Losing Peter was like losing a son. Later in the movie, Captain Stacy finds out that Gwen is actually Spider-woman. The person who he believed killed his son.
Get it?
He found out his daughter killed his son and doesn't want anything to do with her after that. Exactly like how some fathers feel when they find out their son is transgender. Because they lost their son. Does that make sense?
This seems to be the reason as to why a lot of people are headcanoning Gwen as trans, which is honestly a pretty valid headcanon to make, except-hear me out- what it wasn't Gwen who was trans? What if it was Peter?
Tumblr media
This Peter looks very different from all the other Peters we see. Its not just him being slightly scrawnier thats different, but its also a lot of his facial structure. He looks more feminine. Now don't come for me for saying this, but he looks like he could definitely be a passing trans man.
It would explain why he was getting bullied by "Ned" at school and why he felt the need to become something more (The Lizard). He says he wants to be more like Gwen, like Spider-woman. What if he said that because he too felt like an outcast? He told Gwen that he didn't think Spider-woman was a bad guy, despite Captain Stacy constantly preaching that she was. Spider-woman is a vigilante, who isn't at all liked by the police. She's an outcast. A trans male thats being heavily bullied would relate to that. He would've related to being singled out because he's different.
It would explain Gwen's "Protect trans kids" poster in her room.
Tumblr media
It would also explain Captain Stacy's trans flag pin on his uniform.
Tumblr media
Peter Parker was trans and Gwen and her father supported him and protected him. But it wasn't enough to prevent him from becoming the Lizard.
Hopefully this all made sense! Once again, I'm not saying anything against the Gwen Stacy being trans headcanon, I'm just providing another perspective on the situation <3

I feel so bad for Gwen during the scene when Miguel is explaining canon event's to miles. Because in near enough every spider man story the Stacy's play massive roles.
The three events of the captains death that Miguel shows are all captain Stacy. Asm 90 is his comic death, the amazing spider man 2 clip is his movie death then we see a third animated one where the spider man says his name.
Tumblr media
And Gwen Is looking directly at it in this scene(or at the floor I can't really tell) , because after miles finds out it's Gwens dad he looks over at her.
Tumblr media
Gwen has seen her dad and probably herself die over and over in these canon event conversations she looks so numb to it. It could also possibly play into the part where she didn't want to go home as well as what we've see in the movie, if shes not there he can't die, it also plays into why she didn't go see miles for so long is because she's seen her canon event she knows there's a high chance she could die, like a lot of Gwen's (from what I've seen) die round the age of 18.
And we know she knows about it because of the clock tower screen, when she says her falling in love doesn't end well. I kinda hope it plays a bigger role in btsv because Gwen Is much braver than I am because I would never leave the house again if I found this out.
My poor angel 😭

Captain Stacy meets Miles and absolutely adores him cause he’s a gentleman and respectful cause Rio would have nothing less from her son only for him to go meet Rio and Jeff and they interrogate him worse than Gwen and now he knows why she warned him about impressing them

I hate when characters die in fiction. Especially when they're characters you see a lot of. The more I see a character, the more their death will upset me. Also, it'll upset me doubly if they fall into a character archetype that I like. Some examples:
In Books: I'm just going to hone in on Percy Jackson and Harry Potter for this category for now. Both those book series have a lot of death. Some of which affected me more than others, but all affected me to some degree. Like with Pjo and Harry Potter the two deaths I couldn't get over are Jason Grace and Albus Dumbledore. I couldn't handle Jason's death because I'd read 4-5 books with him as a main character! At least with Bianca and Zoë, you only know them for one book! Not five! And as for Dumbledore, I'm not kidding when I say he was my favorite character. He was. When he died, I barely wanted to keep reading. If I could force the authors of those books to undo both these deaths, I think I would make them undo them.
Comics: I think this is why I like 60s comics more than comics from later decades. Less death. In the 60s the majority of characters that tended to die (I think) were minor villians and stuff. Which I can handle. What I can't handle is killing off a recurring character or villian. I'm still bitter about the deaths of both George and Gwen Stacy (even though I stopped reading after George Stacy died). I also disagree with the killings of Captain Marvel, Jason Todd, etc. I'm sorry, but they didn't deserve to die. Especially when I'm using these goddamn stories as my escape from reality! In an escape from reality, I don't want to be reminded that we can all die! No!
I also hate when villians who get used more than one time get killed off. Because it's pointless. I'd rather they fade into obscurity instead of dying. It's pointless. And I hate it.
I could probably continue this post by discussing other forms of media again, but I think I've said all I need to say for now.

For as hard as he is on his son, there is no doubt in my mind that if Jeff ever found himself in the same situation as George, he almost certainly wouldn’t have continued to arrest his own child
