Sebastian Stan - The Covenant is what made me think this initially. Hearing that (at one point at least) he wanted to be Dracula and tried using the fact that he's Romanian to make it happen just makes me smile. Mads Mikkelsen - Did you know that he's actually in a vampire movie? He's not a vampire from what I can tell, he's a vampire hunter, but that's still something to think about. How would Uncle Luka, Grandfather Pavel, Yvette, and we'll add our lovely father Viktor, and mother figure Aunt Cara, as a bonus react to the MC asking them to be their first dance at their wedding? I couldn't help but think about it when rereading the party.

Luka

Despite being a father figure to MC for a decade now, they’re still caught off guard by the request. Somehow, he still feels undeserving of such a great honour. Once MC has reassured him that they indeed want him to do it, then he’ll gratefully accept.

He’s touched by the request but also feeling wistful at the same time. He knows that he’s not good enough to replace Viktor — and he’s certainly not as good of a dancer as his big brother, but he’ll make sure to give it his all, to make it special and memorable.

Honestly, he’s really surprised and taken aback. Him before Luka, who has been raising MC for ten years? He’ll probably make sure whether MC is sure and even suggest Luka to do the honour instead.

But after MC reassures him, then he’ll accept, albeit with a feeling of guilt. A small voice in his heart tells him he doesn’t deserve this, considering Viktor’s last wish was for MC to be taken care of by Luka instead of him and it was clear that Viktor didn’t consider him to be a good father figure for MC.

Her?! Are you sure MC? Yvette is fully aware that she is probably the most undeserving person to have that honour in the whole city. Hell, even Sebastian (the butler) and Ivan and Boris deserve it more than her considering they’ve spent more time with MC growing up than she ever did.

She’ll probably try to talk MC out of it, but if MC still insists… Then she’ll guiltily and hesitantly accept. But over time, she’ll come to fully appreciate the gesture and she feels hopeful… She’ll see this is an opening or maybe some kind of forgiveness from MC.

Maybe it’s not too late for her to have a better relationship with her child in the future and this time, she’ll make sure to be active in MC’s and her grandkids lives, swearing to never make the same mistake she did ever again.

Viktor

Immediately becomes emotional. His eyes are probably tearing up as he immediately accepts. MC grows up so fast… Has it really been more than twenty tears since he first held MC in his arms? It certainly doesn’t feel that way to him.

And yet, here’s his precious child asking him to do one of the greatest honours there is for a parent. As he dances with MC, he finally fully accepts that his child is now an adult and no longer a little kid.

He’s proud of them and the person they’ve grown to be and he can’t wait to be the best grandpa ever to MC’s kids.

Cara

Wait, are you serious MC? If so, then she’ll gladly accept. She’s definitely touched and honoured for the opportunity and the fact that MC considers her a mother figure in their life.

But she’s usually not a sappy person, unlike someone (*cough* Viktor *cough*), so she’ll cover it with her usual confident and easy-going grins. And yes, she does know a good deal of great moves and she’ll be more than happy to show them to MC to inspire them. Overall, she’ll just keep up her energetic and upbeat spirit.

Note: This is what happens when I'm trying to stay awake at work. I write fanfiction. Earlier I chose angst; now I'm choosing fluff.

You were sitting at the dining room table in the mansion, eyes drooping, head propped up on your hand.

For some reason you just hadn't slept well the night before. Not due to nightmares or stress; you just kept waking up throughout the night, and it would take you awhile to fall back asleep. By the time the clock hit seven, you had maybe gotten four hours of sleep. If you were lucky.

You had sat down for a break, but the table was looking more and more appealing as a pillow.

"You look like you're about to fall asleep where you're sitting, Cara Mia."

The voice jolted you out of your impromptu nap, eyes snapping open in panic. Your head smacked against the table with a loud thunk.

You winced, rubbing the now tender spot on your head.

"Scusa, tesoro," Leonardo murmured apologetically, running his fingers gently over the sore skin. "I didn't mean to startle you."

He frowned at you, taking note of the dark circles under your eyes.

"Have you been sleeping enough?"

With Herculean effort, you focused your eyes on Leonardo's concerned face.

"Normally I do. I just didn't sleep well last night, and I'm struggling today because of it." You punctuated your sentence with a yawn. "But I'll survive. I think."

Leonardo sighed and stepped closer to you.

"Whoa!" you exclaimed as the greater vampire lifted you into his arms, cradling you against his chest.

"If you're that tired, you're going to be a danger to yourself," he murmured, his breath tickling the top of your head. "And we can't have you going and injuring yourself because you're too stubborn to take a break when you need it."

He started to walk out of the dining room. Leonardo's warmth combined with the heady scent of his cigarillos and the safety you felt in his arms took away any protest you had left in you (not that there was much of it to begin with), your head resting in the crook of his neck.

You were feebly aware of him stopping and opening a door, but your conscious thoughts were steadily fading and giving way to the peaceful oblivion of sleep.

You were lowered out of Leonardo's arms onto soft sheets and a pillow that smelled just like the man who carried you here. With a half-asleep sigh, you snuggled your face into the pillow and almost immediately fell asleep.

Leonardo chuckled affectionately before crawling into the bed beside you, pulling your sleeping form against his chest and wrapping his arm securely around your waist.

It's not like Leonardo needed an excuse to take a nap, but being able to snuggle with his adorable mortal partner in the process certainly sweetened the deal.

If it were even possible, you relaxed further, any remaining tension leaving you in favor of sinking into dreams in his embrace.

You would deal with the consequences later.

Bonus:

Sebastian was searching the mansion, a worried expression on his face. He had walked into the salon to gauge progress and found it half cleaned, your cleaning supplies left draped on a table.

It was unlike you.

Sebastian even asked the other residents if they had seen you. None of them had seen hide nor hair of you since breakfast.

He began to grow anxious.

The other residents agreed to help search for you, if nothing else than to make sure you were okay.

"We should ask Leonardo if he's seen them," Isaac suggested. "I know he's been occupied in his room all day working on some new project, but he's still their partner."

Sebas nodded. The mansion residents split up, and the butler headed straight for Da Vinci's room.

He knocked on the door with no answer.

He then tried the doorknob and pushed the door open, thinking Leonardo may have just fallen asleep.

He was met with the heartwarming sight of the two of you, curled up together in Leonardo's bed, so close it was hard to tell where one body ended and the other began.

Sebastian smiled, the anxiety fading from his visage.

There would certainly be hell to pay later; falling asleep on the job was unacceptable. Your forehead would be aching for weeks once he was done with you.

But for now, having assured himself of your safety, he was content to let you sleep. Clearly you needed it.

have any headcanons for Ian and Natalie?

YES. MANY.

Whenever Natalie is sad, she'll refuse to put on her nice clothes and claim she doesn't like them today. This is because Ian will have no choice but to help her find new ones, like a bonding experience, she likes having him involved in her life.

Ian was the first person to know about Natalie's crush on Ted (sorry you guys can't escape tedalie in this), and he RELENTLESSLY made fun of her for it.

Sometimes Vikram sends them extra money out of generosity only because he knows at the end of the day that they are still his kids.

Ian does Natalie's hair a lot, she loves having it braided when they're just staying in the house.

Natalie isn't huge on reading, neither is Ian, but they both will sometimes read together in the same room just to bond over it.

Ian is a horrible cook. That's it. He cannot cook for the life of him.

Natalie hates music most times, but Ian put her on some of the few non-classical artists he likes, so whenever they do listen to music, it's usually that. Ian does have a secret, VERY secretive love for some of Madonna's old songs that he wouldn't tell a soul about.

Despise being posh and rude, they treat their maids/butlers/tailors/workers extraordinarily well. Bossy? Yes, but they pay them well and are polite to them.

Ian spends a lot of time working, so Natalie is always bored and usually has to entertain herself, he feels bad for leaving her so bored most days.

Both really love indulging in staple Indian food sometimes together, they both really like it.

Natalie HATED Cara, Ian and her didn't last long, she stays around as a friend though.

Essa fanfic é inspirada numa fala do diretor Jeff Nichols, que diz que tanto Johnny quando Kathy querem moldar Benny para que ele atenda as expectativas deles, o que o torna um homem infeliz. Nessa história você vai vê-lo escapando dessas duas pessoas corrosivas.

Os ombros livres do colete dos Vandals pareciam até mais leves. Não só os ombros, Benny suspeitava que talvez sua alma estivesse mais leve também. Ele já não se sentia mais prestes em ser dividido em dois, como se duas forças opostas tentasse puxa-lo para direções diferentes. Direções que ele nunca desejou seguir, coisa ele só percebeu quando o barulho das vozes de Johnny e Kathy se perdeu no vento, quando ele acelerou a sua Harley Davidson para longe dos dois. O momento em que Benny Bauer pôde se encontrar com Benny Bauer.

Enfim se livrar da presença de Kathy fez a atmosfera perder aquele aspecto sufocante. Ele já não sentia mais o peso envolto em seu tornozelo, o peso que ameaçava prende-lo no mesmo lugar. Que ameaçava arrancar sua liberdade. O peso que ele fingiu não sentir quando permitiu que ela entrasse na sua vida. E Benny ainda se perguntava o que tinha na cabeça quando achou que Kathy, com seu olhar ansioso espreitando pelo bar cheio de motoqueiros, era uma garota interessante. E ele sempre soube identificar bem garotas realmente interessantes.

Kathy com sua conversa, que só girava entorno do seu trabalho numa lavanderia caindo aos pedaços no centro da cidade, era o sinal de alerta que ele havia ignorado. E, todavia, quando ele finalmente acordou do seu torpor, era quase tarde demais. A mulher estava se agarrando a ele como um parasita ao hospedeiro. Foi, aí, que ele percebeu que era hora de partir, encerrar definitivamente aquele capítulo da sua vida.

Também era hora de deixar Johnny e o mc para trás. Benny que havia se tornado parte do grupo de motoqueiros para dividir o seu amor pela vida sem amarras que sua Harley lhe permitia ter,  entendeu que no mc não era bem aquilo que ele havia encontrado. Depois que vestiu aquele colete parecia que o seu pior lado havia vindo a tona. Um cara que ele mal conseguia reconhecer e um cara que ele, definitivamente, não queria ser. Um cara que não demoraria para ter sangue em suas mãos. Um sangue que ele podia não conseguir se livrar.

Em seu momento de epifania Benny, enfim, conseguiu perceber que o motoclube  e  Kathy eram sua cruz ou sua espada. Ambos acabariam o aprisionando de alguma forma. Os Vandals – inevitavelmente – acabariam sendo o seu passaporte para a cadeia. E ficar atrás das grades acabaria sendo o seu fim. Ela, por sua vez, acabaria o aprisionando em sua vida estagnada e sem perspectiva. Estava claro não só para Benny, mas para qualquer um que cruzasse o caminho de Kathy, que ela acabaria seus dias bebendo cerveja e fumando nos fundos da lavanderia. E ele sempre quis mais que uma vida acomodada na mesmice.

Era hora de partir. De agarrar sua autonomia de volta.

Quando o vento bateu em seu rosto, puxando os cabelos louros para trás, e a estrada se descortinava a sua frente foi impossível conter o grito de liberdade que irrompeu de dentro dele. A sensação leve de uma vida sem correntes o preencheu. Benny, finalmente, estava indo embora, deixando os dias cinzentos com seus personagens sombrios para trás.
