What some of the ninja look like in my Jaya Prime Empire Au Comic
I decided to draw the ones that you won’t see much in it, not because they aren’t there. They’ll probably be in a couple panels or flashbacks, but I wanted to draw them in case you don’t see them that often, so you would know what they’d look like.
Who should I do next? (P.S. I made Zane’s eyewhites super light so it would give off that shiny robot feel but idk if it came across well.)
Just a little late with the publication of this part of MAP
Technically I finished it at the end of October, but...
It so happened that I seemed to work more with the background, I tried to do it as carefully as possible, but it still jerks a little at the beginning... (I tried to fix it but...)
I have more Bizzaro boy thoughts... So many thoughts about when as a total: SO! Last night, I found a Picrew (credit to ninjawhoa) and decided to craft the boys and explain their powers. Here we are! Once again, A - Z
Cole:
The chronically tired boy. While still a Master of Earth like his ninja counterpart, his power involves more gems and geodes. Able to summon them from his hands, protective shielding, and while there is no true scheming to them, they tend to lie around the purple and dark blues tones. He can throw literal spears of gems, or whole clumps of geodes towards his victim with no regard to the safety of the victim.
Jay:
Jay has a deep purple lightning that if very powerful compared to Jay's, but also takes more energy from his body. Since purple lightning appears closer to the atmosphere of the earth, Jay has to charge for a few days compared to his inventing counterpart, who takes a few hours to a day.
Kai:
On everyday: Kai uses black fire. A fire that's barely visible and very fragile like him, but effective for small things. But, it can flip on a dime to create white fire. Small, black fire spots can escape from his body, but white fire is the strongest and hottest flame that he can create when utterly pissed or protective. Small flares can leave from Kai's body (primarily hands and arms) when in the white fire stage.
Zane:
Black ice. While not used in the actual terms, it's just as dangerous as seeing black ice. Since it's so dark, and tends to be thicker, any captured in it is set up for a painful time. It's also much denser than normal ice, making it a useful (and deadly) makeshift weapon, second to rocks itself.
brain is all over the place today so I'll share my last major focus of the day
Seasonshipping wedding.
Kai was the ring bearer, the cutest kitty ring boy there was.
And cause he gave everyone their rings/pendants, Nya didn't have anyone to walk her down the isle, so she had Edna be her maid of honor-
And all the guys had their fathers walk them down the idle. Nya laughed cause every single one of her husbands were red in the face.
I have more than enough time on my hands, so here's my take of what my current hyperfixation, ninjago, would be in one of my oldest fandoms, warrior cats
Kai
In this au(?) Kai's name is Scorchflame and he's a warrior in RiverClan, even though he's grown up being afraid of water, being unable to swim and catch fish like the rest of his clanmates. His dream has always been to become deputy, which has caused him to make rash decisions, one of which causing him to get the scar over his eye. His parents, Rayblaze and Mellowripple, vanished when he was just a kit and due to RiverClan's vast overpopulation at the time, especially with apprentices and kits, Scorch and his little sister were quickly forgotten and left to train, raise, and care for themselves, Scorch especially.
Jay
Known as Jaystorm, Jay is a ThunderClan warrior who grew up as a junkyard cat with his adoptive parents, Ed and Edna, before being invited to join the clans, although he still sneaks out to visit his parents. What he doesn't know is that his birth parents actually were from the clans. His dad, Cliffbeam, was the deputy of ThunderClan, while his mom, Lightningcloud, was a SkyClan warrior. While Cliff saw their relationship more as a random fling, Lightning saw it as genuine and was heartbroken when Cliff turned her away after saying she was expecting their kits. Not knowing what else to do, Lightning ran away and ended up dying soon after having Jay, Ed and Edna luckily finding him. Cliff died in a border fight before Jay joined ThunderClan.
Cole
Here, Cole is a WindClan warrior named Colepetal, the son of Loudsong and Lilyburrow. He grew up happily until his mother died of illness not long before his apprentice ceremony. This caused a huge rift to form between him and Loud as his dad continued to brighten the clan with his positive attitude and bird songs, despite not being the best hunter and fighter, and wanting Cole to grow up to do the same. However, Cole wanted to be left to his mourning and ended up running away from the clans for over a season before finally returning to become an official warrior, although his relationship with his dad is still rocky.
Zane
In this, Zane is Birchsnow, a SkyClan medicine cat, although he still has plenty of fighting skills to defend himself. He used to be a loner, wandering the woods as a kit with his former-kittypet dad, Julien, who told him all about the clans and wanted to join them. Unfortunately, Julien died of greencough one winter before they found the clans, leaving just Birch, who almost died as well before SkyClan found and brought him in. At first being trained to be a warrior, Birch chose to become a medicine cat after the clan saw what a strong connection with StarClan he had with his visions.
Nya
Like Kai, Nya is also a RiverClan warrior, her name being Shorestrike. She's the opposite of Scorch in a way, being a complete natural at swimming and fishing. Despite her and Scorch being littermates, Shore is considered his little sister due to being a runt, even causing her to be apprenticed a moon after him. Despite the overpopulation, none of the apprentices wanted to become a medicine cat, so Shore was forced into the role due to the current medicine cat practically being on their death bed. Forced to train as a medicine cat for nearly 5 moons, she finally puts her foot down and demands to be trained to be a warrior, which she is due to a different apprentice wanting to become and medicine cat. Due to her late warrior apprenticeship, Shore is the last to earn a warrior name.
Lloyd
Finally, Lloyd's name is Leafshine and he's the deputy of ShadowClan. He's one of youngest deputies ever, not even having had an apprentice yet and being given the role due to his involvement in a prophecy. He was originally born outside the clans and was abandoned, leaving him to wander alleyways where he was captured by animal control. From there, he kept being adopted and returned due to being deemed "too much to handle" before eventually running away and being found by his uncle, one of ShadowClan's medicine cats, Whitewhisper, being taken into the clan and made an apprentice. He's the youngest out of the group, and was second to last (only beating Shore) to get his warrior name.
I meant like what motivates them to do evil things in general not literally “what motivates them to be evil” so like “what motivates him to kill the people he does” falls under “what motivates him to be evil”. Because yeah no, Zane’s not trying to be evil but he’s still trying to kill people which is usually objectively evil.
But if someone’s just evil from birth, then they don’t need a general motivator. They don’t need an overall reason. They can just stab a guy because he annoyed them and it doesn’t need any deeper explanation because nothing made them choose to do that aside from this guy annoying them right now. There’s no root cause or deeper reason for them choosing to be violent because they’re evil from birth!
Like if Zane’s whole thing is that Garte was abusive and often used violence towards others to solve his problems, and now the use of violence is normalized to him, then he is now not evil from birth. He’s not stabbing a guy just because he annoyed him, he’s doing it because violence is normal to him and therefore stabbing the guy is, to him, a justifiable response.
My brain's not working well but!! I think if the character is doing things for no reason (regardless of if the things they're doing are bad or not) it's a very obvious sign of bad writing! Like yeah he stabbed someone but why? Just because He's The Villain? Damn Jess great writing yeah no definitely not a 2 dimensional character
This is a problem in most of Jess's writing because it often seems like the characters are doing things Just Because? There's no reason for a lot of it other than "it's funny" or "it's dramatic" and that's!! So frustrating!! I want villain characters to be evil and irredeemable and horrible while also still being People and not just a cardboard cutout of a classic villain!
Giving a character reasons for their actions is often seen as "oh so you're justifying what they did??" when it's not!! People have reasons to do things, you don't just wake up one day and go "im bored I'm gonna go kill someone", people don't work like that even if they're objectively bad people!
