"Hip-Hop Journeys: Where Dreams Became Tangible Goals" Rest In Peace Santos Night Club aka Santos Party House
Rest In Peace Santos Night Club aka Santos Party House
In this edition of Hip-Hop Journeys, as we celebrate Hip-Hop's legacy, I can't express enough gratitude for how it has become the soundtrack of my life, paving the way for my global adventures and preparing me for the future. The stage was set in New York City, with an Indian summer vibe, the cool breeze sweeping through the city, and temperatures in the pleasant 80s, creating the perfect atmosphere.
On September 1st, 2010, the Rock The Bells Tour made its stop at Governors Island in NYC, promising potential special guests and surprises. A big shoutout to Dan Green from Clockwork Music Inc., a globally diverse company specializing in talent booking, concert marketing, production, online marketing, and project consultation, for promoting and marketing the event. The concert would feature Hip-Hop legends AZ and Cormega, along with opening acts brothers Willie The Kid & LA The Darkman. For me, this marked a significant milestone as I would be hosting my first major show in NYC while handling the promotion and marketing.
The primary goal was to ensure a great turnout, and the pre-ticket sales were already showing promising signs.
As they say, "If you can make it in New York City, you can make it anywhere," and that morning, I experienced the truth behind this cliché. Savoring my tea, croissant, and egg cheese sandwich with turkey bacon from the Bodega, I took the 4 train from 183rd and Jerome to Wall Street Station, and from there, I walked to the pier for Governors Island. As a native Bostonian, I embraced the city's atmosphere whenever I traveled on public transportation, appreciating the sights and being mindful of my surroundings. Governor's Island reminded me of Thompson's Island back home in Boston. To reach Governors Island, I had to take the NYC ferry, and upon arrival, the music filled the air, with two stages set up - the Main Stage for the headline act and smaller stages for upcoming artists.
Positioning myself strategically between the two stages, I seized the opportunity to personally hand out flyers for the show to people leaving the venue or moving between stages. Although I hadn't secured tickets to attend the show, a stroke of fate led me to encounter a distressed young lady who worked for Rock The Bells. Her date had stood her up, leaving her with all-access guest passes, which she generously offered to me. Gratefully, I found myself backstage with the crème de la crème of the Hip-Hop industry, no longer needing to distribute flyers. I was now adding the headline acts to the guest list for the evening event. My dreams had become tangible goals as I witnessed my first major show, with an iconic and legendary guest list. From Ras Kass West Coast legend & Lyrcists, to Consequence fresh off A Tribe Called Quest rocking, RIP Phife Dawg was still alive, Dres from Blacksheep, my big Bro Vic Black Gangstarr, and the Legend DJ Tony Toca Touch. There were so many more these were the pics I could salvage.
Now its showtime, I hopped into a cab and headed to Club Santos, also known as Santos Party House, located at 96 Lafayette Street in the Tribeca neighborhood. There, I reunited with my brother DGomez, and our friend joey had made the trip from Boston to film the night's unforgettable moments. It truly was a night to remember - my first time seeing AZ live, alongside Nature, Craig G, and the electrifying mic exchange that went down in Hip-Hop history at the 1:10 mark. It all flowed seamlessly, akin to a baton pass, with the crowd united in their clear requests. You can see my big bro from Queensbridge, The Testament himself Cormega, and The Revelations bringing down the house.
Here’s another angle from the night ! Salute to Grandgood

# LIKE CLOCKWORK
pairing: paige bueckers x teammate!reader
word count: 1532
warnings: arguing, offensive cursing?
summary: in a heated game, your girlfriend doesn't hesitate to step up and defend you.
⭑ from lani: i rlly hate this and its like corny imo but idk..oh also i have nothing against usc or any of their players i just needed someone to cause drama sorry guys!
masterlist !
THE WHOLE GAME was a mess, in all honesty. the aggression. the determination. the ref’s bullshit calls. there were too many factors that contributed to the general tensity of the game.
in the midst of the march madness tournament, uconn ended up going against usc, a school that was set up to have a “rivalry” with the huskies due to the similarity between their star freshman, juju watkins, and your own all-american girlfriend, paige bueckers.
however, the crowd was focused on a different pair tonight: you and kayla williams. you had heard of the girl prior to the game and acknowledged that she was a good player on both ends of the court, so you prepared yourself for her efforts.
before tonight, you had absolutely nothing against her. you respected her and her dedication to the sport, even complimenting her once in an interview. but for some reason, the trojan had been all up in your personal space the entire game. some may call it good defense but she was simply doing way too much in your eyes.
there had been multiple accounts where she illegally restricted your movement as you went to make a shot, yet the refs let it be. the entire ordeal pissed you and your own teammates off, but specifically your girlfriend.
you could tell paige was getting annoyed at the way kayla was acting, even when the ball wasn’t in play. her eyes were trained on the opponent every now and then to make sure that she wouldn’t try anything. but she practically death stared her.
it’s not that you couldn’t handle yourself, because everyone knew damn well that you could, it was the fact that the intensity of kayla’s physical pressure over you was honestly concerning. still, you continued to focus on the game.
it was currently two minutes left in the fourth quarter and uconn held the lead 82-76. with a six-point deficit and a freshman sharp shooter for usc, the score was too close for your team's comfort.
your coach had advised the team to stay off of social media to avoid letting their opinions get to your heads, but you still knew what was happening. people were calling you out for being too emotional on court after an incident with a player on duke in the previous round.
———
it was almost the end of the third quarter and uconn was up by…a lot. the duke players were not happy at all.
you were running across the floor, crossing between the two duke players guarding you. for some reason they were set on the fact that you were their biggest threat, so as they double-teamed you, you had to push harder against their defense.
your teammate kk arnold passes you the ball over the pile of bodies trying to guard you as you catch it with your hands extended in the air. quickly, you adjust your stance as you shield the ball away from duke’s grasps.
you dribble the ball forward before stepping back out behind the three-point line and faking a pass to paige to get the guards off of you. with the small time frame and physical space you had, you quickly jump and shoot the ball into the net, resulting in a beautiful swish as another three points are added to the board.
you also draw a foul since one of the duke girls grabbed at your leg mid-jump shot. you throw up three fingers in the air and smile as your teammates pat your back and dap you up.
before you were set to get three free throws, you huddled up with the rest of the girls to discuss your next plays. you were focused on what paige was explaining, but you couldn’t help overhearing the loud discussion in the huddle next to you.
“god, she’s not even that good. the only reason she’s here is because her dad is on the coaching staff.”
“exactly, she’s just a bitch with connections, all her shots are sloppy.”
you lift your head from your own huddle to make sure you’re hearing them correctly. “hey, what was that? what’d you say?” you ask them.
“nothin’ bitch, just mind your business,” one of the girls says with a pointed glare.
“sorry?” you’re now fully turned around to face her, but you try to maintain your composure so as to not get a tech.
“woah hey chill,” paige says as she swiftly places her hands on your waist to pull you away from the scene, “you gotta ignore them, y/n, we can’t have you getting a tech. don’t let them get to you.”
her eyes are locked on yours as her large hands are still grasping your jersey loosely. you nod wordlessly with your jaw clenched.
“like clockwork?” she asks you, fist extended.
you smirk at her proposal and bump your hand against hers, “like clockwork.”
it was a phrase you two often used on the court, just the two of you. whenever either of you said it, it was an unspoken promise to have each other’s backs and power through the game no matter what.
it was a signal to show your opponents your unbeatable connection that left everyone speechless and scrambling for their words. so, like clockwork, you two were beasts on the court after initiating the promise.
you were angry to say the least. you were tired of the treatment not only from other players, but also from the media. everyone had instructed you to block it all out and take your emotions out on the ball and net. so that’s what you did.
———
and that’s what you continued to do. you drove your shots, defended well, and refused to back down. you were pumped up by the adrenaline running through your veins, but after you managed to drain another three-pointer, one split-second interaction sent a different emotion to course through you.
“try-hard bitch,” you hear as you are shoved forward. turning around, you are faced with, of course, kayla williams.
before you could respond, you see paige stepping in front of you protectively and getting up in her face. you see her place a strong forearm against kayla’s chest to push her off of you.
“yo, you need to back the fuck off,” she demands as she lessens the space between her and the trojan to intimidate her. paige had about five inches of height on the girl, so she was glaring down at her with looks that could kill.
she was tired of all the bullshit you were getting, tired of them pushing you around. so, naturally, she had to do something about it.
but unfortunately, the refs caught the heated interaction, immediately blowing their whistles to give both paige and kayla technical fouls for unsportsman-like conduct.
paige freezes the second she hears the refs’ call before walking away from you and kayla frustratedly. you stalk after her, eyes wide and eyebrows furrowed at her sudden outburst.
“paige, what the hell was that? what happened to not letting them get to us?” you ask as she plops down into a chair on the sidelines, head in her hands. she shakes her head, not responding to you, “paige??”
“i’m sick of their shit, y/n,” she says after taking a deep breath and lifting her head to look at you, “they’ve been acting like this the whole game. i tried to hold back but this one is on them.”
“i know they’ve been acting up, but that doesn’t mean you step in and get a technical!” you practically yell at her. everyone’s emotions were complicated at the moment, and you were letting yours get the better of you, “you can’t do that paige!”
“but i’d do it again!” she yells back, standing up to be face-to-face with you, “for you, i’d do it again because guess what? you don’t deserve this shit. i’m perfectly fine with getting a tech because they were speaking on your name. i wasn’t gonna let that slide.”
there was less than a foot of distance between you two. both of your chests were heaving as you got into a bit of a screaming match. the refs were still replaying and discussing the recent altercation, trying to determine the intensity and consequences warranted.
“fuck, paige,” you sigh as you run a hand over your face, “you can’t put your career on the line like that for me. i won’t be the reason your future is ruined.”
“what are you not understanding, y/n? i don’t care about all that right now. all i care about is you. are you telling me that you wouldn’t do the same for me?”
your expression is straight as you remain silent, knowing damn well that you would go to hell and back for this girl.
"that’s what i thought. so please don’t give me anymore shit for this and go win this game.”
after a few seconds of intense eye contact and you processing her words, you mirror her priceless smirk.
“you’re impossible,” you breathe out and shake your head before making your way back to the court, but not before paige lands a quick slap to your ass.
“like clockwork, ma, like clockwork!” she yells at you with a smile.

What if I'm the Monster?
(Based on Monster from Epic the Musical, it's incredible, give it a listen)
So! For the past few years, Danny has done nothing but defend Amity Park from Agressive Ghosts, Lunatic Ghost Hunters, and the GIW, all on his own. But no matter what he does, he is always seen as a Monster by the people of the town, just for being a Ghost.
Over the years he has lost a lot.
His Best Friend. His Mentor. His Mom.
Tucker was caught by the GIW and arrested for helping Phantom, and was never heard from again. His Parents still visit the Mayor's office for any word of him, but no one has any idea what happened.
Danny and Clockwork had a falling out after Danny refused to go down his intended path. He wanted to live his own life, one not predetermined by a Time God. Clockwork had told him that he would regret the decision, and left.
And his Mom had died after discovering his secret. She had surprisingly accepted him, but then the GIW had tried to capture him and she decided to defend him, and she got caught in the crossfire.
Every time Danny tried defending the people of Amity Park, he was vilified and hated even more. He would never be a Hero in their eyes, he was no Justice League. He had lost so much just defending them, but he couldn't bring himself to resent them, they didn't know what they were doing, it was how they were supposed to think. He still needed to defend them.
But he could no longer do so acting as the Hero.
Being a Hero stopped him from raiding the base that he assumed Tucker was being held in. Being a Hero led him to disagreeing with Clockworks advice. Being a Hero led to his Mom's death.
So he would be The Monster, instead.

Hey I’ve noticed that more and more people have been talking about Wendy Carlos recently, so here’s a friendly reminder that Wendy Carlos has her own website. It’s ancient, but very informative and charming, with her art, photos of her pets, and her interests including color theory and astronomy.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that if you want to know anything about her to please use this as your source!! The website includes her biographical notes, a list of all her approved interviews, and has an archive of all her music. It also has a list of publications that are false/bigoted and that she does not approve of.
IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT that Carlos does NOT want her legacy to be “the trans woman who changed music”. She is a very talented musician who contributed to a rich history of music, but she makes it clear in this open letter that she is not a superstar, and in this message that she does not want to be known only for her gender identity, or defined by it.
Please please show her the respect she is due.

music and narrative {[0]}
so. as part of the ongoing music researches, I've for a while wanted about the relation between music and narrative. that's going to be a long project! but to begin with I wanted to run down the examples I know, and maybe solicit a few more~
now, on some level, nearly any song has some degree of narrative. your basic love song introduces us to some characters - singer, object of their affection - and furnishes them with emotions and desires. moreover, music can play a role in a narrative without literally relating events - indeed, the art of soundtrack design is definitely a subject I want to look into at some point. even songs addressed directly at the real world, such as political songs, construct some kind of narrative.
however, for these purposes, I'm interested in songs that go a bit further in the direction of telling a fictional story, especially when those link together into whole albums (sometimes called a concept album, though this is a slightly broader concept). which can work in a lot of ways!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
for example, Janelle Monae's The ArchAndroid tells a sweeping scifi story of an android fleeing an oppressive society and becoming an unintentional figurehead of revolution. it sketches out a wide-reaching set of influences in constructing a scifi world, but you'd be hard-pressed to boil it down into a simple series of events - it prefers to leave a lot to interpretation. by contrast something like Splendor & Misery by clipping. deals with kinda similar subject matter - a scifi story, an escaped slave, artificial intelligence - but with a different musical approach and perhaps a slightly clearer narrative arc; sometimes directly narrating the thoughts and actions of characters, or slipping into memory, but also drawing less direct musical parallels with e.g. gospel tracks and slave spirituals. both excellent albums - both solve the problems of conveying a story musically in different ways.
of course, the largest pool of examples here comes in the context of musical theatre, and further back opera. (the exact transition from one to the other is something I'm going to need to research). particularly interesting to me are sung-through musicals such as Les Misérables, in which there's no spoken sections in between the songs. this restriction means the songs (and staging etc.) have to do all the work of conveying the events of the story.
there's a lot to be said about the various traditions of musicals (for example). there's even more to be said about the history of opera - both the Western traditions and other musical traditions that have been given the label such as Chinese opera. but that will have to wait for later day in the project because otherwise this entire post would be a huge list of musicals, and I want to try and wander all over the shop.
what I'm most curious to find is music that tells a story all on its own - no actors or staging, but more similar to oral narration. of course, in the present era, music is often released along with videos, and these can tell quite elaborate stories that will become part of the overall 'message' communicated by the song, so the lines are a bit blurry! but since the aim of this series will be to look for ways to convey narrative using music, I'm looking for examples where the music does most of the heavy lifting.
Tumblr media
music that tells stories is something with a looong tradition in folk music, pretty much the world over. in Europe, the ballad was a common form for it, a word that survives into the present. it seems that most cultures have had some kind of tradition of wandering itinerant musician-poets - for example, at various points in history, there were biwa hōshi in Japan (pictured) and griots in West Africa, medieval Europeans had minstrels, the Celts had bards, the Occitans had troubadors...
moreover, work and marching songs such as sea shanties would also have a certain degree of narrative to them, in addition to their main function of keeping a group moving in time.
in modern times, people will sometimes attempt to reconstruct how this kind of music and lyric poetry would have been performed. you can naturally only go so far with the archaeological evidence, but I'm fond of Peter Pringle's recordings of segments of the Epic of Gilgamesh, using period instruments if not necessarily a period musical style!
in the modern age of recorded music, these traditions have become much more niche, but there are still artists who use music as a vehicle to tell a fictional narrative. (fair warning: I'm a huge nerd, so most of the examples I know are like, supreme nerd shit. also about ten years ago I was given an assortment of metal from a friend which included a bunch of what I'm about to put below.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to begin with I've naturally got to talk about my friend Maki Yamazaki (Dr Carmilla) and the band she founded but later left, The Mechanisms. They tell a story of a sprawling gothic scifi universe, with the band playing the role of travelling space pirates who observe the (invariably tragic) tales that unfold. The Mechanisms' music starts as folk song pastiche, but gradually gets more original, although narratively they keep the approach of crossing over mythology with genre storytelling (fairy tales as space opera, arthuriana as space western).
The Mechanisms got a significant measure of international fame washing back after their frontman Johnny Sims got really big on some podcast or something.
Maki's solo music as Dr Carmilla took things in (from a narrative sense) a more abstract direction, using elaborate production and an incredibly textured sound to tell a (so far!) fragmentary story of the tragic space vampire Dr Carmilla and her doomed relationship with another vampire Lorelei (for example). And I'm gonna have lots more to say about them all, in the future, but this is just an overview so let's not get ahead of ourselves!
In a related vein (though I'm much less familiar with them) comes indie band Decemberists, who often create narratively driven songs - for example, The Mariner's Revenge Song depicts a sailor's motivation for extracting bloody revenge on someone who wronged him, with the actual violence conveyed by an energetic instrumental break. A subject that reminds me of the Clockwork Quartet, now long gone, who managed to record just three of their songs from a larger project, yet stand out as way more interesting than most of the steampunk milieu - with for example The Clockmaker's Apprentice giving a very fun antihero-revenge narrative to the ticking beat of a clock, and The Doctor's Wife a compelling tragedy of desperate medical science.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's definitely something in common with this type of storytelling and the subgenre termed rock opera, which has a pretty long history going back to the late 60s (SF Sorrow by Pretty Things and The Story of Simon Simopath by Nirvana, thanks wikipedia), with notable examples including some incredibly popular albums like Pink Floyd's The Wall (which was adapted into a partly animated film using animations by Gerard Scarfe, c.f AN86) and My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade. In many of these, the connection between songs and narrative is fairly abstract and metaphorical - most of the examples mentioned are about the psychological arc of one character.
Calling this a genre or subgenre is kind of a stretch recently - just in those four examples we see a pretty wide range of musical styles, so it's more like an approach to album writing. Still, for want of a better word, there's definite overlap between this 'genre' and musicals. For example, the history on wikipedia cites The Rocky Horror Picture Show as an example of rock opera, which in my head it's just a musical. (Anyway, exactly the taxonomy of regular opera/libretto, rock opera and musical theatre is not that important anyway, because we want to look at the techniques of all of them!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A more direct narrative comes in the work of The Protomen, who have the 'no way that would work' premise of creating a huge, dramatic, emotional story based on the plot of the Mega Man games. By putting the focus on the tense relationships of the fought main characters (scientists Light and Wily and robot boys Proto Man and Mega Man), and their sense of rejection and betrayal by the broader society, they somehow pull it off.
Moving gradually in the direction of (progressive) metal, we encounter Ayreon, whose entire career has been telling psychedelic and occult stories of time travel, aliens, warnings projected into the past, out of body experiences, and the history and direction of humanity. I'm not sure if all of their albums fit together into one big story exactly, but certain ideas seem to keep coming up - for example, future societies or aliens sending warnings to humanity to fix our shit before it's too late. In some of their albums (e.g. The Electric Castle) they follow the device of having each member of the band play a character in an ensemble cast, bringing it a bit closer to something like a radio play.
Also in metal land we find the rather unique project Charlemagne: By The Sword and the Cross, best known for that time Christopher Lee shed the blood of the saxon men. This is using music as a vehicle for a (more or less) historical story, featuring an old Charlemagne (Lee) reminiscing on the various awful things he did over the course of his life. Apparently they made a sequel to this album, which I never realised!
As well as history, metal also likes to lean on literature and poetry. For example, Kamelot (classed, apparently, as 'Power Metal') have a rather fun adaptation of the story of Faust into two albums, Epica and The Black Halo. Iron Maiden famously took on the Rime of the Ancient Mariner in a 13 minute song. And that's not even to get into all the songs dealing with Tolkien.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moving on from metal before we start listing a hundred songs about vikings, it's worth looking more broadly for music about history, since it's a pretty major overlap with fictional storytelling! For example, the Boney M song Rasputin tells an incredibly catchy account of the assassination of Grigori Rasputin. Another rather more charged example comes in Nakam by Daniel Kahn and the Painted Bird, about the unsuccessful paramilitary plot to poison six million Germans as revenge for the Holocaust.
If you go looking, you can find an impressively long list of historical songs compiled by 30 users of lyrics website Genius - though many of these I feel don't really count, since they were describing contemporary events when they were written.
Of course, there is a heavy overlap between this subject and political songs - in many cases the historical subjects are invoked to comment on the present. For example, Wernher von Braun by Tom Lehrer was written at a time when von Braun was leading the US space programme. In many cases, the songs simply invoke a historical event to express a feeling, assuming you already know what happened. Others may recount events more or less directly, before seguing into a verse or two at the end about why it matters now. Most of the songs in this list focus on recent (20th-century) history, sometimes they reach further back - mostly to talk about colonialism.
Historical songs can also be quite oblique. For example, Mili's song Salt, Pepper, Birds and the Thought Police is about the life of Korean poet Yoon Dong-ju, but you wouldn't necessarily know it from the content of the lyrics unless you were already familiar with Yoon's life. More on Mili in a moment - most of their songs are more fictional.
One thing I'm curious about is whether there are examples of more historical fiction in music, which tries to imagine the thoughts and feelings of historical characters... well obviously there's Hamilton, and perhaps that illustrates why there aren't a lot more songs about non-recent history, because the vibes can be off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Storytelling is still a powerful mechanism even in a contemporary, political song. Take Construção by Chico Buarque - the story it tells is of the pointless death of a construction worker; with the lines ingeniously remixed over the course of the song, this turns into a wider illustration of the ruthlessness of the system that killed him. Its lyrics are absolutely fucking genius, even if you don't speak Portugese.
Speaking of language, most of the examples I've covered so far are in English, since well, that's my native language. It's naturally a little harder to access a story in a language you don't speak, but in these days of subtitles, we kinda can! So for example I can encounter projects like MILGRAM, something of a combination of music project and voting-driven story, in which we are introduced (by character song) to a number of characters facing execution - and then invited to vote on who should die. Heavily illustrated, it is somewhere vaguely in the space between album and straight-up anime.
I mentioned Mili already, but many of their other songs have a strong narrative arc to them, and sketch out the contours of a fictional setting. For example, one of their best-known songs is world.execute(me), which portrays the failure of a bdsm relationship between an AI girl and her creator. Which is relatively grounded by Mili standards - other songs depict for example the relationship of a jiangshi and a mad scientist cooking food, or a witch reanimating a knight with scientific methods to kill on her behalf.
And I think that will suffice for now. But we are of course only scratching the surface - this is by no means supposed to be an exhaustive list but I'm sure there's stuff that I'll be kicking myself for not mentioning. Mostly, however, this is a request for recommendations - particularly, of music from genres I haven't addressed in this post, and especially non-English languages, or that convey their stories in especially creative or unusual ways.
This project will likely be a long time in the works - it's something of a supplement to the Music Theory Notes (for science bitches) series - but my aim will be to pick out a few of these to examine how they go about conveying narrative through songs. Because I think that's kind of one of the big things I want to do with music.
ok canmom out i gotta go play some music. see you next time!

she goes around the manor saying "BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, POW, POW, POW, POW" (dot dot curve song reference) all the time, and it gets on everyone's nerves
there's not a time when she isn't listening to music tbh, even when she's out killing
sometimes she'll make her victims listen to one of her playlists and rate it, if they give it a good rating she'll give them a fast and easy death, but if they give it a bad rating.. slow and painful.
Clockwork
rock and roll / glam metal
Joan jett & the blackheart's, guns n' roses, the rolling stones, ramones, queen, the runaways, etc.
Joan jett is her idol
Her walls are COVERED in band posters, and she also collects old magazines just cause she thinks they're cool
She knows how to play guitar, the only reason she learned how to play was because of slash from guns n' roses
She will try to fight you if you talk shit about her favorite bands
Jane the killer
dark wave / post punk / gothic rock
siouxsie and the banshees, she past away, bauhaus, the cure, london after midnight, lycia etc
She's a fan of the cure, tobys a fan of the smiths.. they fight, a lot.
she collects a lot of cd/tapes of her favorite bands, and plays them ALLLL the time
if she's not too busy sometimes she'll go to a goth club, she doesn't really dance though.. she'll just stand at the back of the club and vibe
She usually doesn't care about other people's opinions when it comes to music, but if you diss robert smith she's throwing hands.
Eyeless Jack
Alternative hip-hop / britpop / psychedelic pop
Blur, tame Impala, oasis, MF DOOM, beastie boys, out kast, etc.
he will correct you if you spell it "mf doom" instead of "MF DOOM" but other than that, he's a pretty chill guy
He secretly thinks that blur is a bit better than oasis, but he'll never say that out loud.
he doesn't take music too seriously
he has a "each to their own" mentality when it comes to music
he does collect records though, and if he sees even a tiny scratch on one of his records he freaks out.
If you need a good playlist to listen to during a smoke sesh, he's your guy.
Jeff the killer
dsbm / hardcore punk / death metal
Woods of desolation, bathory, cradle of filth, forgotten tomb, carcass, the exploited, etc.
Regularly calls people "posers" and he will make you name eight songs instead of five
he thinks any other music is overrated, and will voice that opinion.
Average reddit user (I'm sorry)
He looks cool as hell in corpse paint though
He frequently goes to shows, but he has no "mosh pit etiquette" if he sees someone fall, he'll just stomp over them and continue moshing.
