been collecting vintage tiles for the surface of the studio work bench I’m building. a bunch of these were sourced from demolition sites in the path of Sydney’s WestConnex motorway, scraps of vintage fireplaces rescued from the rubble by another local artist.

aiming to use recycled/second hand materials where possible…sourcing recycled timber next week <3

Hey creature features, guess what

If you save your toilet paper rolls, you can wind yarn balls onto them. Then, find something you can stick it over and boom diy yarn holder. I personally am using Torani syrup bottles but I imagine a paper towel stand or even a toilet paper stand you can move out of the bathroom, a coat hook, any number of things would work

Not sure if it's the nostalgia, the inspiration from furblr, or the lack of sleep within the last three days due to the meds I have to take (stupid allergic reaction to mosquitoes), but I had the urge to pull ol' Furb out of the storage box.

He has definitely seen better days. And did something run off with his eyelash?!

Needless to say, I think it's time that Furb should be re-furb-ished. (Hur Hur Hur, my puns are so funny)

So I'm going to look up tutorials on how to fix a furby! Any advice is good and nice.

A while back I posted about the overabundance of mid-2oth century costume jewelry I have inherited. One response to that post was a suggestion that I make it into hangable wall art with a frame and pieces fastened to an attractive background (such as black velvet).

I am definitely going to do that, as soon as I can get my hands on some shadow boxes. The other issue, though was a few nicer pieces, such as the matched set of jade earrings and cufflinks that my parents gave each other for their wedding.

They're too nice to mix in with costume jewelry, so I'm going to get the earrings remade into pendants, and then keep one for myself and send the other to my sil. It can be a memento of my mother. The cufflinks could go to my brother and my son - if I can figure out a way to repurpose them that they would actually like.
