#polls #tumblr polls #For me I think the top ones would be the House. The Money. or the Friend Group. But I ultimately might would go for the house #JUST becuase it would be my Dream House which means it would already meet mostly all of my specifications #and what I might be looking for. which would save a lot of time searching or customizing/rennovating.#Also because I could use that as a way to leave the US lol.. like .. if I get to choose my dream location.. couldnt I just choose some othe #country?? But I wonder how that works. Can you legally 100% have full ownership of a property in a country yet not be a citizen of that #country?? Would you show up and be like 'erm.. i own this house.. so i shall now live in it' and theyd be like 'uh no. you cant live here #despite owning the house. leave.' ??#So I think the initial process of 1. scraping together funds to actually MOVE myself and my most valuable belongings physically #TO another country. and 2. figuring out how to STAY in that country . might end up being difficult.. BUT. if I could just work that #part of things out then.. dream house?? security for once in my life?? stability?? :0 #Though the $1mil is enticing it's also like.. I feel .. with the way housing prices are now... that's not much???#it's a lot I guess if you plan on like.. investing half the money and staying in an apartment for 5 years while you grow your wealth #or something. but if you're a 'I Need Stability NOW' ready to settle down person who would be most interested in owning a property rather #than nice clothes or a car or whatever other investments you could make then.. eh..?? It seems like unless you're okay with living in #a small town or kind of far away from the city - even some SMALL houses in majorly populated areas in the US will be like #$600.000 - $900.000 or something. like that would be MOST of my money. Which I know you could just pay partially and make #payments on it but idk.. in the option of just outright owning the house it seems like it'd end up being cheaper.#Plus I would want to own it fully asap because I'd be afraid of losing it somehow otherwise. like it being taken for medical bills or #something. which I thought was supposed to be - not IMPOSSIBLE - slightly more complicated legally if you actually have #paid off the house in full. I guess the issue then would be utilities and property tax and such. But I feel like thats overcome-able??#Like I could just stipulate that my Dream House has a little furnished addition or something and then find someone #with money and be like 'Look you can live in this extremely nice area with amazing ameneties and updated everything and ALL you have #to do is give me money to cover the utilities and property tax.'' or something like that. Like the little furnished addition is nicer #than the actual house. they have their own pool and spa and movie room or something and Ill also cook all their meals for them #or whatever (how luxurious it would be depeneds on how high the property tax actually is/how much I would need to entice them into #why it's a good deal for them to pay it for me lol). idk... something like that.. ANYWAY #I asked a few people I know though and one of them answered they'd rather have a romantic partner. the other one said they'd like #to be able to choose someone to die lol.. So I'm curious what people value the most

Storytime: There was really only one time when Stanley was in actual very genuine danger of being revealed/captured by the governt. It all started with a traveling group of amateur "anomaly hunters" (AKA. poachers) arriving in town looking to make a quick buck by profitting off of whatever exotic creatures they managed to catch.

You can already kinda see where this is going.

So, the group arrived in town to harangue the townsfolk and wildlide in search of anything interesting they could potentially smuggle or sell off. However, they weren't a very experienced or organized group of poachers, and so they hadnt realized that Gravity Falls was a hot-spot for anomalies.

By sheer coincidence and luck, they somehow ended up missing every single sign of an anomaly that happened to pop up behind their backs unnoticed and then disappear out of sight when they looked. Just as the group deemed the town a dead-end and was prepping to leave, they noticed a strange tourist trap on the edge of town, owned by an even stranger "man" and his brother.

They decided to investigate, yada yada, and they eventually found out that Stanley was, in fact, definitely not human and most importantly: profitable!

So, when no one was looking unser the cover of night, they decided to jump Stan and restrain him like an animal while they discussed how they should transport him back to their van.

Too bad Stanford was there to throw a wrench in their plan! That was the first and only time Ford killed people with his own two hands in this AU. He didn't regret it.

i need them to add a proper character creator in Destiny 2

it's not enough that i can change it afterwards, i need more options – for hair style, colours, face shape, body type, make up, etc. – i nEED MORE

i can spend hours in a character creator and i'd love to customise my guardians more

and then proceed to always keep the helmet on

#and i don't mean a very detailed one #i do not need to manually set the height of the chin or something #but i wish there were more options we could choose from #there are like 3-4 actually okay-ish hair styles in the maybe 10 we get to choose from #even worse with the exos imo #i need to be able to customize them more #maybe even accessories #pretty pleeaaaaase #destiny 2 #destiny the game #queue up guardian

Indecisive? Just make five different MCs (two for fire, one touch starved one touch averse) with each possible hobby and replay each MC for each RO so you can see every possible scene in a super creative and cool IF by a super creative cool author. I am autistic about choose your own adventures/IFs also but that's unrelated.

Just realizing there are technically 5 attunements if you play it that way, and also 5 hobbies. 🤯 This is fate!

Hello, I'm not sure if you're aware, but tumblr is going to start helping midjourney gather data for their AI. You're one of the artists I follow here pretty actively and I wanted to warn you to maybe start nighshading your art before posting it here so it doesn't get swept up!

I've seen a couple of posts about it. Feeling disappointed but not that surprised. Also not excited about having to start nightshading/glazing my pieces but if there isn't going to be any serious regulations regarding data scraping and ai "art", there aren't a lot of choices.

Thank you for taking the time to warn me just in case, it was very thoughtful of you!

#from what I've seen the effectiveness of nightshade/glaze has been debated and I don't even pretend to understand how it works #but like watermarks it's at least some kind of preventive measure a token effort to stop your art from being stolen and misused #but I fear that if someone is determined to do it anyway chances are they will find a way unfortunately #this shouldn't be the reality of trying to share art online #it's a pretty dismal situation when this responsibility falls on the artists themselves #I've been here since 2011 I've lived through multiple tumblr apocalypses I'm not leaving unless they make this place wholly unlivable #and I don't think there are truly good alternatives with similar sense of community and as varied posting and customization options #it seems like every other major social media platform is doing this exact same thing if not worse #answered #ohdeergood #I'm tired we're all tired of this

I just heard another writer trying to figure out which self-publishing route to take, and all I'll say is that I'm glad I found Draft2Digital. (More accurately, I'm grateful to my more knowledgeable writer friends who told me about it a couple years ago.) I don't even use the free services as much now that I've learned to do fancy formatting etc on my own, but it sure is nice that the option is there.

TL;DR: you upload a manuscript, they make it presentable and available everywhere from Amazon to your local bookstore, and they charge you zero dollars, only taking a cut of the profits they helped you make. A small cut.

They are run by Writer People who want to help other Writer People succeed, and it shows.
