French initiative for responsible AI leaders - AI News

French initiative for responsible AI leaders - AI News
ESSEC Business School and Accenture have announced the launch of a new initiative, ‘AI for Responsible Leadership,’ which marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the role of Chair at ESSEC, titled the ESSEC Accenture Strategic Business Analytics Chair.
The initiative aims to encourage the use of artificial intelligence by leaders in ways that are responsible and ethical, and that lead to high levels of professional performance. It aims to provide current and future leaders with the skills they require when faced with challenges in the future; economic, environmental, or social.
Several organisations support the initiative, including institutions, businesses, and specialised groups, including ESSEC Metalab for Data, Technology & Society, and Accenture Research.
Executive Director of the ESSEC Metalab, Abdelmounaim Derraz, spoke of the collaboration, saying, “Technical subjects are continuing to shake up business schools, and AI has opened up opportunities for collaboration between partner companies, researchers, and other members of the ecosystem (students, think tanks, associations, [and] public service).”
ESSEC and Accenture aim to integrate perspectives from multiple fields of expertise, an approach that is a result of experimentation in the decade the Chair has existed.
The elements of the initiative include workshops and talks designed to promote the exchange of knowledge and methods. It will also include a ‘barometer’ to help track AI’s implementation and overall impact on responsible leadership.
The initiative will engage with a network of institutions and academic publications, and an annual Grand Prix will recognise projects that focus on and explore the subject of AI and leadership.
Fabrice Marque, founder of the initiative and the current ESSEC Accenture Strategics Business Analytics Chair, said, “For years, we have explored the potential of using data and artificial intelligence in organisations. The synergies we have developed with our partners (Accenture, Accor, Dataiku, Engie, Eurofins, MSD, Orange) allowed us to evaluate and test innovative solutions before deploying them.
“With this initiative, we’re taking a major step: bringing together an engaged ecosystem to sustainably transform how leaders think, decide, and act in the face of tomorrow’s challenges. Our ambition is clear: to make AI a lever for performance, innovation and responsibility for […] leaders.”
Managing Director at Accenture and sponsor of the ESSEC/Accenture Chair and initiative, Aurélien Bouriot, said, “The ecosystem will benefit from the resources that Accenture puts at its disposal, and will also benefit our employees who participate.”
Laetitia Cailleteau, Managing Director at Accenture and leader of Responsible AI & Generative AI for Europe, highlighted the importance of future leaders understanding all aspects of AI.
“AI is a pillar of the ongoing industrial transformation. Tomorrow’s leaders must understand the technical, ethical, and human aspects and risks – and know how to manage them. In this way, they will be able to maximise value creation and generate a positive impact for the organisation, its stakeholders and society as a whole.”

In the past week, I have had 1100 attempts by Tumblr to track me.
Most of these attempts are by Facebook, with a few attempts by google (for funsies, one assumes).
The information they want includes my name, email, gender, network, location, fingerprint, cookies, and every single bit of information about my device (its brand, id, storage, memory, screen resolution, rotation, battery, advertising id, etc).
Most of this information is probably out there somewhere or the other, in the Great Cloud. I have blocked all these attempts on principle.

Who the fuck is saying yes? Other than, like, the Big Ones - Gaiman, Seanan McGuire, Diane Duane, etc, you know, people with a public platform with product that they’re trying to sell on top of shitposting - why would anyone be using their real name on here? Hells, I don’t know that those are their real names - could just be pen names for publishing purposes. I don’t know their legal, government names. Not for sure. And neither should you.
This hellsite is the last bastion of anonymity on the internet. The knights hold that continues so stand strong against the siege engines of identity data mining through social media. The sole island of fucking sanity in a trash-filled ocean ever trying to pull you under and wring that last penny out of using you and your personal information as capital.
Pick a handle to go by online. Pick a dozen. Pick one and stick with it. But don’t fucking use your real name on here.
Jesus.
so i’m curious,

The Rise of Phishing Attacks in India: A Privacy Threat
Tumblr media
In India, phishing assaults have become a significant privacy risk that impacts both individuals and companies. By tricking victims into disclosing private information through deceptive methods, these attacks aim to steal financial and personal data. The number of phishing cases has increased due to India's fast digital expansion, creating serious security and privacy issues. Phishing assaults are now a prevalent method used by hackers to take advantage of unwary consumers, ranging from banking scams to phony government notices. This blog explores how phishing attacks operate, their effects, and strategies for avoiding becoming a victim.
Phishing is a type of cybercrime in which criminals pose as trustworthy organizations, such as banks or governmental organizations, in an attempt to fool victims into disclosing personal information. These attacks can take many different forms, such as voice phishing (also known as "vishing"), in which the attackers make phone calls posing as customer service representatives, SMS phishing (also known as "smishing"), and email phishing, in which the fraudulent emails imitate reliable organizations. The psychology of phishing is straightforward but powerful: attackers instill a sense of urgency, fear, or trust, which prompts victims to take action without fully confirming the source. Phishing assaults frequently rise during significant events, like the COVID-19 epidemic, when individuals are more susceptible to money or health-related hoaxes.
The attacker starts a standard phishing assault by sending a message that looks authentic and exhorts the victim to respond right away. For example, the email may state that the victim's bank account has had unusual activity and request that they click on a link to confirm the details. However, the link takes the victim to a phony website that looks almost exactly like the actual one, where they enter their personal information, which the attacker then takes. Spoofing authentic emails, making phony websites, and appealing to emotions like fear or excitement to elicit fast answers are common phishing strategies. Bank customers in India have been the subject of multiple phishing attacks; some have lost a substantial sum of money after divulging their login details on phony websites. Phishing can have disastrous effects. As people cope with the fallout from stolen data or depleted bank accounts, phishing can cause identity theft, monetary loss, and psychological distress. Even worse outcomes are possible for businesses, such as financial losses, consumer distrust, and data breaches. Furthermore, numerous phishing attempts erode public confidence in digital platforms, deterring people from conducting business online and perhaps slowing India's digital adoption rate.
People should look for any irregularities in the sender's email address, including a minor typo of a well-known domain, in order to identify phishing attempts. Watch out for links that don't seem to belong or grammatical problems. A sense of urgency, like "Your account will be suspended unless you take action now!" should always be checked when someone unexpectedly seeks important information. You can spot tiny warning signs by contrasting phishing attempts with authentic communications from organizations. A proactive strategy is necessary to defend against phishing assaults. Installing antivirus software, turning on two-factor authentication for online accounts, and avoiding clicking on unsolicited attachments or links are all things that people should do. Training staff to spot phishing efforts, putting email filtering systems in place, and performing frequent security audits are all essential for businesses. Another crucial step in thwarting these attacks is reporting phishing efforts to cybersecurity organizations or the appropriate authorities. Phishing assaults pose a significant risk to privacy in India, with potentially dire repercussions for both individuals and companies. Preventing these attacks requires being alert, spotting phishing efforts, and taking precautions to protect personal data. You can help others stay informed and better defend themselves against phishing scams by spreading the word about this blog and increasing awareness.

The legal systems are still holding. Between the courts and the utter incompetence of DOGE, the coup is stumbling badly and people are out on the streets getting in the way and screaming at their republican congresspuppets. We have 20 months to keep them stumbling and work to insure that the 2024 mid-terms stand.

Hackers leak 2.7 billion data records with Social Security numbers
Almost 2.7 billion records of personal information for people in the United States were leaked on a hacking forum, exposing names, social security numbers, all known physical addresses, and possible aliases.
The data allegedly comes from National Public Data, a company that collects and sells access to personal data for use in background checks, to obtain criminal records, and for private investigators.
National Public Data is believed to scrape this information from public sources to compile individual user profiles for people in the US and other countries.
In April, a threat actor known as USDoD claimed to be selling 2.9 billion records containing the personal data of people in the US, UK, and Canada that was stolen from National Public Data.
At the time, the threat actor attempted to sell the data for $3.5 million and claimed it contained records for every person in the three countries.  ...

Opt Out of FB/Meta Stealing Your Data for AI
Meta is using your data, pics, etc, to train AI. Here are the steps to at least try to stop it. What this doesn't cover is that then you will get a notification (that little bell in the top right on FB) that says they have a response. The response is also BS, so I typed in this:
-I do not give permission to Meta to use any of my media, uploads, posts, pics, words, or any other data in any way shape or form to train AI or in any other way for corporate purposes.-
