Thinking about how Magolor's electric ball attacks look nothing like any other instances of electricity in the games that I can recall (particularly in Star Allies), but do resemble Gooey's Dark Laser attacks quite a bit

because Foul Legacy is so used to being in the shadows, only used for Childe's most desperate moments. Legacy doesn't deserve or need love- such sweet emotions are reserved for humans, and he is anything but that. a weapon, a monster, yes- but not human, and he knows he'll never be human. he's fine with it, mostly. Childe treats him well and gives him blood and battles because that's all he needs, and the rest of Legacy's time is spent either dozing or idly watching the outside world from within the Harbinger's body, and everything is ordinary and dull- until he meets you

you're not scared or disgusted at all- in fact, the first thing you say to him, to Foul Legacy, is that he's beautiful, gently holding his face in your hands

he likes it- that's what the warm feeling in his chest is, right? your words are soft, comforting, and Legacy finds himself purring whenever you happen to wander into Childe's view. you love the Eleventh Harbinger as well, but there's a special affection reserved only for his Abyssal side, something that confuses both Childe and Foul Legacy. but Legacy finds that he adores your attention, his heart melting from your simply kindness as he trills and snuggles closer to you, bumping his head against your shoulder happily, a sponge for your affection. you can't really blame him- he's gone so long without it already

he thinks that tomorrow he'll give you a flower. that's what humans do for people they like, right?

ambrose and artemis just regularly resort to extreme methods to protect the things they love and i kind of love that for them. they're both insane. Fr runs in the family

Though it's debateable whether that is good or bad #Unrelated thoughts but i like to think artemis used to be more merciful and more regretful of taking the lives of others #it still weighs on her now but much less so and she is far more eager to end a life (though not like. for fun or anything.)#this also applies to ambrose--they werre *far* gentler hundreds (perhaps thousands) of years ago.#but both cousins have been mangled a little by the eldritch powers they have become entangled with.#(ambrose to a far larger extent; artemis still clings to her humanity more than her cousin does.)

"Antiochos’ and Stratonike’s activities in the eastern part of the [Seleukid] empire are largely shrouded in mystery, but, as Engels has argued, Antiochos was far from idle since he embarked on a large building programme and was active in securing the frontier. There is some evidence to suggest that his new bride accompanied him for much of this period. We can perhaps identify Stratonike’s presence with her new husband in the Upper Satrapies through the gold coinage minted in Susa and Baktria in c . 287. The two gold coin sets are of the same type, the obverse features the laureate head of Apollo facing right and the reverse features Artemis in an elephant biga facing left with the legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ in exergue.

The reverse image of Artemis in the elephant biga is within the same design type as a large range of other coinage issued by Seleukos I celebrating the success of his elephants and thus his eastern campaigns. The appearance of Artemis is however unique to these coin types. This suggests the emphasis on the close links between the twin gods, Artemis and Apollo, depicted on the obverse and reverse of this coinage . Since there appears to be as a close link between Apollo and Antiochos as there is between Zeus and Seleukos, the presence of Artemis could be seen as a symbol for Stratonike. This would create a series of parallels: Seleukos/Zeus, Antiochos/Apollo, and Stratonike/Artemis. The first two reflect what we see for these two kings at the list of priests of Seleukid kings in Seleukeia in Pieria . Additionally, it may be notable that the sister-wife ideology [...] appears to be evident later in the reign of Antiochos.

As all of the Apollo/Artemis cointypes were produced on high value gold coinage, this suggests that it was issued in order to commemorate a significant event. While the type was similar to other Seleukid coinage, the shift from Athena to Artemis was clearly discernible and unique. The arrival of the new joint-King and Queen in the region to take up residence would have been a suitable moment for the issuing of the new coin type. This advertisement of their new rule certainly falls in line with Seleukos’ wedding speech which confirmed their new roles."

The way some people are reacting to the Oscar nominations, specifically in regards towards Barbie, and many other things surrounding it holds certain undertones, especially when they then start to go and deny America Ferrera's talent among other things, that are very concerning. Like let's not do that. Especially if you're writing an article for a newspaper (LA Times) that makes digs towards the other films and their nominees, mainly who were women, and say that that proves the point of Barbie. Even though the point of the film was that women have to work harder than men just to get their foot in the door, not about shaming other women, but I digress.

After my latest fic chapter I feel compelled to remind people who have never read the SGE books that Clarissa Dovey (whose ideology and behavior I did not alter) is supposed to be a good guy. She is the benevolent, motherly mentor figure. We are supposed to like her very much.

In related news: The School for Good and Evil is the single largest case of authorial "oh shit I forgot all my world building when it came time to do the story framing" I have ever seen in all of media.

season 4 is not a good season to be a steve fan it actually made me like him less

Don't want to tone police anyone else, but I kind of hope that if anyone sent me a misguided ask trying to 'correct' some terminology I used for my own self-identity, I'd be able to reply in a way that didn't frame myself as superior for being out longer than the asker.

#i've only been out for like 5 mins anyway so i kind of hate that anyway for maybe personal reasons??#i met a lot of trans people my age this year who also didn't come out during their entire 20s for Reasons #and we all agreed it fucking sucks and feels like wasted time #and i'm well aware people come out much much later than that and the same applies #as a transmasc person i have detected a small amount of 'well how would you know you only just came out like 5 mins ago'#from other transmasc people about my age who have been out way longer #and i understand where they are coming from i guess but i also can't help it #and i hope our community never has to be divided by supposed privilege lines of who came out when and who spent more time as 'cis'...#maybe people are already trying to do this but i hope not because none of that stuff is fixed enough to be an axis of oppression #though it does change our experiences of life of course it's never as simple as 'privileged vs oppressed' on things like this #in particular there's one transmasc person in my local area (there aren't many lol) who i really want to connect with but who has made #implications that they see people like me as trans babies of sorts #like not talking about me but someone else they said of a long-time friend of theirs who just came out as transmasc #'i could have used that support 10 years ago!'#i was just like :/ well they aren't talking about me but is this how people in my community see me??#anyway i think if we can't have compassion for and acceptance of each other's unique experiences it will stand in the way of intra-communit #connection
