People rightfully talk about how devastating romantic solavellan is, but I think platonic solavellan can also be extremely devastating.

Like, my main Inquisitor was a Dalish rogue. She had no experience of magic, or the Fade, or anything like that before accidentally stumbling into the whole Corypheus ritual thing. Solas saved her life. He was by her side when she was confused and scared and trying to figure out what the hell had happened to her while all these humans were accusing her of a terrible crime she didn't commit. He helped her learn how to use the mark to seal the rifts; helped her understand what her new abilities were and that they were needed. When the humans began to call her the herald of a divine figure she didn't worship, Solas was the one person she could turn to when it all started to get a bit much (my Inquisitor was very much a Life of Brian-esque "I'm not the Herald of Andraste!" type). The conversation they have in the snow after everyone gathers together to sing "The Dawn Will Come" is such an important moment. Two elves, in the midst of a struggle fundamentally elven but that human beliefs had managed to co-opt.

Solas was her mentor. Her friend. Someone who opened her eyes to the vastness of the world; who complicated things she thought she understood. And she listened to him with an open mind and heart in turn. She was living proof that his unpleasant encounters with the Dalish were not universal. She had accepted her mortality, her lack of magic, because she knew no other way to be, and it probably broke his heart that he knew that HE was the one who had taken it from her. idk I'm just obsessed with all the dialogue that implies that the Inquisitor, through befriending Solas, changed a lot of his opinions about the modern world (modern elves especially), but that it wasn't enough to make him accept the world as it was in the end

Thank you so much to all the artists, and I'm so sorry I sat on your art for so long! It was really cool to open these up and see everyone's pieces again, and I feel guilty that they've been sitting on my computer for many (MANY) months.

When I was drawing the first piece, I thought "aha, wouldn't it be cute to start with a dragon from one of the artists' lairs so they can see how it changes?" and I thought CrystalBlackpaws' Dangao looked fun. In my mind, I drew a character that was suitably different enough from the original that it wasn't obvious what the base dragon looked like...

...and in hindsight, it was a bit too clear what the inspiration was 🥲 like, it accidentally was the world's most convoluted art trade haha. But even with that, everyone did a really great job transforming Dangao into and out of different forms! Seeing everyone's skull masks was my favorite part for sure!

Hello, WickedCriminal I just wanted to say I absolutely adore your treasure your Half brothers: au seeing my favorite childhood dragon hero books and Film incarnations together as siblings warms my heart so much!

I sent a previous message already asking a question about if Merciless the book version of the green death and the first villain that little Hiccup defeats. Is he still canon cause he should have shown up in the first Flim as well…as the big threat that gets little Hiccup and Toothless recognized as heroes…

So how is he incorporated into the half brothers alternate universe? Does he still even exist and what is his role…does he still wash ashore to Berk? Does he still fight the young Vikings the movie cast and the book trainees? Does he still die to little hiccup?

I did see your first ask, sorry I didn't get to it quick enough. Merciless is still in the au, don't worry! The Red Death and the Green Death are both different dragons, and are both Elder and Younger's Big Moment to Shine respectively. As far as the Half Brothers AU timeline goes, the movie happens before the book, so Elder defeats the Red Death first, and Younger defeats the Green Death a few weeks to a month later, while the dragon flock is settling in on Berk! (DreamWorks wise, this would mean it happens during the 'Riders of Berk' era.)

I did it this way because I thought putting both Death dragons into the first movie might cram it a little. So in this instance, Elder kills the Red Death to allow the dragon flock the freedom to make peace with humans and live on Berk. The Green Death would arrive a little while afterward, feeling irritated by this union and hoping to mess things up a little!

Younger defeats him with the help of the other Hooligan kids, as well as the Meathead kids, who had arrived for Thor'sday Thursday. (Elder and the Dragon Riders don't do much because this fight is Minicup's time to shine.)

I've been rewatching some of the episodes and im still wishy washy on whether or not I want to redesign all the characters but here's some recent and old character sketches!! I've been playing around with their designs but trying not to deviate too far so that the characters still look like who they're supposed to be

Idk if anyone would wanna see me redesign/rework every character but I'd post em if there were people who wanted to see that.

Here's the rundown for those who are interested:

My basic ideas for fairy tail are to make every character a fantasy trope/creature/class/myth. Some of the characters will change into a different thing over time as they gain experience. I feel like fairy tail has a lot of potential to write a more modern fairy tale type story because of the whole wizards and magic thing. With dragons and princesses n everything. This is obviously present in the story, but i really want to reinforce that idea. there are some characters who I think really fit this, like Erza (obvi main knight of the story but also has the title of titania queen of the fairies) and natsu (obviously dragon as an mc, sort of a role reversal of the evil dragon. and maybe a fun demonic plot twist haha). But with other characters i may need to make more changes. Lucy is a loose version of the princess (with a fun runaway backstory), but I want her to evolve into a priestess. Grey kinda has nothing going on for him imo, the ice wizard thing keeps throwing me off every time i try to project something onto him. I think i'll go with a hunter -> demon slayer thing. He just happens to use ice magic. i don't wanna go with regular wizard because thats a bit boring lmao. It would also make the elemental thing between natsu and grey funnier bcuz he's a spooky demon and that guys a hunter so you guys REALLY shouldnt get along. They do anyway because the power of friendship lol Anyways that's the basic plan? even if i dont post it on tumblr just know its cooking in the back of my head. thx for reading all this haha
