Weekend Update 🎭 Character Redesigns!
This next update was a bit too ambitious to complete within a week! I could show some stuff off now, but it feels like an important enough update that I'd like to do it properly.
I won't leave everyone completely in the dark about what's cooking though. Progress is being made, I assure you. Everyone will get to meet the mysterious person behind the blue speech bubble soon, and Page's updated design will be ready to debut as well!
🔖 BlueSky || Main Blog || Questions? (Love to hear feedback!)
#indie game#indie dev#game development#godot#godot engine#godot 3d#devlog#boundlessut#Page hasn't been seen since last year!! Where's my baby!!#Also the fact that no one knows what the partner looks like yet#Is purely because tumblr refused to accept the initial gif back in the Unity days#Otherwise everyone would know by now#Or not really...since the partner got a major design update

I found a "Capsule Collider" in my daughter's cute little play vegetables. (Pretty interesting material on the mesh renderer, though... I think it's a sweet potato, but I'll have to talk to the art designer for this simulation).

Hello! And Goodbye!
If you are seeing this post that means you have probably followed me in the past. I don't really use Tumblr anymore. I'm over on the dumbass bird site that is no longer a bird site, but I'm sure as fuck not calling it what he wants me to call it! Anyway. If you followed me in the past you probably liked something about me or my work. Here's a refresher: My name is Peter, I am a solo indie game developer. I do 3D modeling, animation, texturing, coding, etc. I do 2D art. I just started doing photography, both portrait, and macro (if you like bugs and plants you will not be disappointed). And I am the creator of the weird niche little internet meme holiday, #EnergySwordSunday. Below I will post my linkTree with all my current sites and blogs, as well as a few examples of each. Thank you for your support in the past and I hope to see you in the future.
See You Space Cowboy.

Navigating Blender: A Gateway to Creative Careers
The Intimidating, Yet Rewarding World of Blender
For newcomers, Blender can appear as an intimidating labyrinth of functions and tools. However, this open-source 3D creation suite is more than meets the eye. It's a gateway to endless creative possibilities, paving the way for careers in various digital fields.
Mastering the Basics: The Foundation of 3D Artistry
Before delving into the complex features of Blender, understanding its basic functions is crucial. These include:
Modeling: The core of 3D creation, where you sculpt your ideas into tangible models.
Texturing: Adding colors and patterns to give life to your models.
Rigging: This is like digital puppeteering, where you create a skeleton for your model to move it around.
Animation: Bringing your models to life by creating motion.
Rendering: The final step where you turn your 3D scene into a 2D image or animation.
These foundational skills are essential for creating a 3D image and form the basis for more advanced projects.
Blending Software: When Blender Meets Complementary Tools
While Blender is incredibly versatile, certain projects require the integration of additional software, especially in the realm of 2D video production. Programs like Adobe After Effects or Photoshop often come into play for post-processing and fine-tuning, adding to the overall cost and learning curve.
The Leap into Game Development: Programming Meets Artistry
For those eyeing a career in game development, Blender serves as a valuable asset. However, it's just one piece of the puzzle. Understanding game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine is crucial, and this often requires programming knowledge. Languages like C# for Unity or C++ for Unreal Engine become essential tools in your arsenal.
Conclusion: A Journey Worth Taking
Blender might be daunting at first glance, but it's a journey worth embarking on. The initial challenges give way to a world of creative freedom, with opportunities in animation, game development, and beyond. While the need for additional software and skills like programming can add layers of complexity and expense, the investment in learning and tools is a stepping stone to a rewarding career in the digital arts.
As you master Blender and its accompanying skills, you open doors to a realm where imagination meets reality, transforming daunting beginnings into the start of an exciting, creative career.

Days 47-50 of coding everyday for a year... It's been stressful
So I worked on with the image on top a game in Unity. I made a reverse murder mystery visual novel for Brackeys game jam. The bottom was me getting a feel for C++ still. Tbh I'm still kind of lost with it, but I'm trying. (it's just so different from C# in some ways). I'm also doing a small coding challenge every morning after I've had my coffee with C# since that's the language I'm going to base most of my career off of (I can do Java/Kotlin, and C++ but C# is special)
Here's a link to the game...

The next few days I'll be working on more C++, and my .Net Maui project. I also might be practicing some coding interview questions/tests since the summer is coming up soon (I did make an impressive fizzbuzz with a twist)

Indie Game Development Tools for Beginners
Intro:
Hey there, fellow gaming enthusiasts! It's your friendly neighborhood game developer, Techy Saad, here to guide you through the exciting world of indie game development. Whether you're a seasoned programmer looking to dive into game design or a complete beginner eager to bring your creative visions to life, this post is for you. Today, we'll be exploring some of the best tools and resources tailored for beginners venturing into the realm of indie game development. So, grab your coffee, fire up your imagination, and let's get started!
Welcome to the Indie Game Development Scene:
Starting a game development business is a thrilling experience that offers a plethora of creative opportunities, challenges, and tools. If you are just starting out, you will need to arm yourself with the necessary resources to see your game ideas through to completion. Luckily, the indie game development community has a wealth of easily navigable tools and resources to assist you in getting started.
Game Engines: The Heartbeat of Your Game
Game engines are the building blocks upon which you can construct your entire game. If you are just starting out, it is important to choose a user-friendly game engine so that you can minimize the learning curve and concentrate on letting your creativity run wild. Unity and Unreal Engine are two of the most well-liked options among independent developers because of their feature-rich features, wealth of documentation, and active communities.
Unity:
Unity is well-known for being user-friendly and adaptable, making it a great option for novices who want to start making games. Its user-friendly interface and extensive tutorials allow you to quickly prototype and create 2D or 3D games without any prior programming knowledge.
Unreal Engine:
Unreal Engine, a well-known tool for game development, is so good that even a novice can create engaging games with its Blueprint visual scripting system. Its marketplace also has a ton of assets and plugins that can help you make better games.
Visual Assets: Bringing Your Game to Life
While gameplay mechanics are important, visually appealing content is just as important for drawing players in and making them feel like they are in the game. If you are just starting out, using pre-made assets and graphic tools can help you produce games faster without sacrificing quality.
Blender:
As a free and open-source 3D creation suite, Blender is an invaluable tool for indie developers seeking to create stunning 3D models, animations, and visual effects for their games. With its user-friendly interface and extensive community tutorials, Blender is a must-have for beginners delving into 3D game development.

Another Definitely-Not-Nightly Nightly Dev Post
SH-3 Sea King Model WIP
Also god, the more I work on Flax the more I fall in love with it.
Unity: needs a distinct file for each Monobehavior and special folders specifically for custom editors
Flax: You wanna put multiple scripts in the same file? Sure! You want a custom editor in there too? Fine by me! Organize your project how you like!
The ease and comfort with which I can do stuff in the way I want, optimal or not, is so wonderful! I feel like the engine trusts me to develop things in a sane way. Amazing!
Maybe in the next few days I'll finally have a working flight model that I can work with again... Fingers crossed!
