actually, she does. she did it by appearing on her mom's reality tv show: the famous lives of superhero wives, now streaming on netflix and paramount plus and hulu and a plethora of other streaming services (that do not delete their ip off of said platforms)!

he's actually her favorite and everyone is always so surprised when she reveals that. he's right up there, right next to cloak and dagger because she loves a good duo with contrasting powers, as well as rogue because, well, she knows what it's like when you hurt people when you touch them. and storm because she's storm. khione doesn't trust anyone who doesn't like storm. it's just on principle, you know?

"i would ask how it's possible that she's unaware about being your stepdaughter when she's your stepdaughter, but i'll finish the sales pitch first before we dive into that: so, our p.e. teacher is named tommy boomowski, alias sonic boom. everyone just calls him boomer, though, 'cause that's what he is. his voice is loud but other than that, he's pretty harmless. a bit of a himbo, really. um, we've got professor jeannie elast - stretches herself too thin all the time." is that a power pun? yes. "rumor has it she's got a crush on boomer but she hasn't given us a yes or a no so i'd have to get back to you on that."

maybe she should have drawn him a flow-chart. "then there's mister medulla, he's basically our xavier. except he does mad science. i don't think mister xavier does mad science. mad science is really fun, actually. it's just the lessons on telepathy that trip me up all the time." that is to say, khione's good at making sure her environment doesn't get turned into a winter wonderland but keeping out telepaths? (even when it's an exercise in class?) that's something else entirely, and what it is is headache inducing.

her friends will probably not believe her when she tells them this. which reminds her that she's gotta ask for a selfie before this conversation's over. (not an autograph, those can be faked. though, these days, there's a whole bunch of things people can fake. selfies included.)

"there's this one youtuber i follow - not a figure skater, for once, just one of those uplift-y people - and she was like: we're all major characters of our own life or something like that and i know that's a cheese-fest and a half but i also don't think she's wrong about that. not really." which is the warmest, gentlest and the most pointed way of saying: hey, don't be like that, calling someone a minor character is not the compliment you think it is. that's a lot, coming from this hydro-cryokinetic.

"in the interest of being totally honest because i think that your stepdaughter who doesn't know she's your stepdaughter needs to know the ins and outs before she commits - not every student will be cool." case in point: gwen grayson. "just last week, i turned one of my classmates into an icicle on the school lawn. again. he was being inappropriate. also, they're still working on updating the mental health part of the curriculum so you're screwed if you get, say, kidnapped by barron battle---" ethan bank. "---or katie baxter." khione herself. "so she's gotta have a good support system in place."

then, the coldest girl in maxville gives the merc with the mouth a warm smile and says, sincerely: "i think she's got that covered, though."

Just finished PRM and I loved it! This isnt a question but in my head canon Marcus looks like a petrified and depressed Timothee Chalamet. I am curious if you have any head cannons for Marucs, Caius and Aro.

I must tell you, anon, I am not the author of Painting Red Madonnas. @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin is. However, I'm sure she appreciates the praise.

As it is I have a masterpost of sorts for various Aro fancasts, while for Caius I think I'd go sexy older man with eyes of steel who'd have just a bit of fun with the part. Sean Connery, Daniel Craig, Samuel Jackson, Jeremy Irons.

For Marcus, I think honestly they should just find some male model and give the model no lines. He places his hand in Aro's instead.

Bio: Orphaned from a very young age, Olivia Iridottir, goddess of dreams, was taken into the Asgardian royal family and eventually came to fall in love with Loki. Spunky with a kind heart and a bit of a tricksy streak of her own, they make a formidable duo wherever they go. Unfortunately their relatively peaceful lives start to take rocky turns after Thor’s coronation goes awry. Asgardian Royalty to Avengers to Revengers and beyond, it ends up being a very... very long 12 years.

Naturally, however, being so closely connected to Loki means that Olivia’s life can take some extreme detours. Maybe she follows her path perfectly, being the yin to Loki’s yang throughout the best and worst of times. Maybe she makes a wrong decision and finds herself beyond the bounds of time trying to free the universe from a silent oppression alongside a very hardened (yet beautiful) female variant of Loki. Maybe in another universe she abandons her good morals entirely all because some poor time intern accidentally infected her brain with a rogue, rather enchanting entity.

Bio: Abandoned by her mother after her birth, Emily spends her first ten years in an abusive orphanage before fleeing after a fire-related accident. She spends two years on the streets before happening upon Hawkins Lab. Taken in by Dr. Brenner and designated as Test Subject 004, she meets and forms a bond with Test Subject 001. Eventually they are forced into orderly roles, 001, aka Henry, gaining the alias of Peter Ballard while Emily adopts the last name of Ripley. For years they’re trapped and tortured by Brenner until a series of events leads to their Soteria chips being removed by Test Subject 011 and they rampage and kill nearly everyone in the lab. Eleven fights back and banishes them to the Upside-Down, a parallel dimension they come to tame.

Emily emerges on the Overworld periodically to keep closer tabs on Eleven and her friends, posing as a high school student who’s the second in command/best friend of Eddie Munson. Eventually hers and Henry’s long laid plans begin to unfold beginning with the unfortunate death of Chrissy Cunningham...

(Note: As of now, it’s theorized that Henry is Eleven’s biological father. I’ve adopted that theory and made Emily Eleven’s biological mother after Brenner tried to crossbreed his two older experiments; Terry Ives was the unknowing surrogate)

Bio: It’s 1987, not long after the earthquake that split Hawkins. A newly transformed Emily, a de-Vecna’d-Henry, and a resurrected Eddie attempt to seek out food on the surface world since Emily and Eddie can’t feed on the creatures of the Upside-Down without hurting themselves. Their Gate somehow gets redirected to Volterra, Italy to be faced with the Volturi, the silent but deadly rulers of the world of vampires the Hawkins gang hadn’t known existed before that. Problem is, one of the three rulers bears a striking resemblance to Henry and, what’s more, is completely enamored with Emily. 

After bottled up feelings erupt in an explosive arguement, Emily seeks comfort with Caius and has to come to terms with the fact that she’s falling in love with him, too. Being pulled in two different directions, Emily has to choose between Henry, their decades long bond, and their mission, or Caius, providing the life of comfort and the family Emily’s always wanted.

2. this is not in support of “cancelling” rick riordan. it’s about accountability, responsibility. as a white cishet christian man, rick does not possess either the knowledge or personal experiences to write about certain communities he himself is not a part of, and thus he must obligatorily resort to research. and thus it is expected of him to put in all the required effort and care in said research to meet a certain standard

3. this is not about who is right or who is wrong. opinions differ. not all lgbtq+ fans agree that nico’s outing, for example, was terrible. just like not all native fans agree that piper’s feather issue is offensive. and so on. that said, however: if you are not part of a certain minority/community, you have absolutely no say in whether the character that belongs to that very minority/community is good or bad representation (example: if you’re not muslim, you have no authority on whether samirah is good or bad representation for muslims)

4. this is about offering a different perspective. people’s lives are different, their experiences are different, their personal relations with society and the world are different, even if they belong to the same minority/community. this in turn affects the way we look at these books and these characters. as mentioned before, it’s only natural that due to this not all of us will see eye to eye when it comes to certain issues, and that’s okay

5. this is also about encouraging debate and the general talking of certain topics and problems within these books that had never been brought to light until very, very recent years. and to further assert the constant need for us to consume our media in a critical way. fiction does affect reality, no matter how some people will have you believe otherwise

Ciao! I was about to ask a question about who you would cast as Aro, when I read your Asks warning and decided I wanted to know way more why you won't answer questions about the movies? Is it because you don't like the way the story was adapted? Also, I still want to know who you would cast as Aro, and I'm sorry if this has been answered before but I'm new around here! Just started reading Nebuchadnezzar's Dream and I'm looooooving it by the way!!

Who would I cast as Aro?

Many suggestions have been made by yours truly on this blog, as I'm not committed to anyone specific for Aro but have strong opinions nonetheless. I think I'll just bullet point potential fancasts:

A young Cate Blanchett Is she the right gender? No. Do I care? Also no. I'm a blind casting kind of gal. Blanchett has beautiful alien-like features, she's enigmatic, she seems larger than life, she's a great actress. She'd be convincingly three and a half millennia old.

Damiano David (the vocalist from Måneskin) if he were an actor He looks perfect for the part.

A young David Tennant Tennant is great at manic, lunar, and unhinged characters, just as he can do understated characters. He has one of those faces where it wouldn't matter that he didn't quite look like Aro, either, he's handsome and unique enough that you wouldn't mind.

A young Glenn Close Another woman, but again, blind casting. Close is incredible at villainous roles, she has a screen presence that's impossible to look away from. There's this unshakable dignity in her, I would look at her playing the part of Aro and not question for a moment that this is the man(?) who has been the world's clandestine ruler for over a thousand years. Also, she's hot as hell, in Dangerous Liaisons she is in her forties and never so much as kisses another character, yet she has more sexual energy than Michelle Pfeiffer and Uma Thurman combined. I can absolutely see her as a petrified gay vampire who's seducing bright-eyed priests all over the place. And like Siân Philips below, Glenn Close would kill the hell out of Didyme.

Margot Robbie Right age, wrong gender, but right manic energy. She just lets loose, goes completely nuts if the director lets her. And she's charismatic, incredibly so. Margot Robbie as Aro, I want to see it.

A young Siân Philips I swear I'm not messing with you people, this is a serious suggestion. Siân Philips played Livia in "I, Claudius", and she was just masterful as the emperor's wife who plots and poisons and controls all the lives around her, always ten steps ahead of everyone else, always the most intelligent person in the room. If we're casting for Aro in a prequel where he's rising to power, Philips would be a blast to watch as Aro destroying his enemies so thoroughly they don't even realize it's happening. I can see her killing Didyme, too, she'd act the hell out of that (in part because I've already seen her as Livia killing her beloved husband.)

Timothee Chalamet He's the right age, right stature, right type of face, and would be great in that this is an Aro who'd be constantly underestimated, as I'm sure Aro was for the longest time. No powerful coven would look at vampire Timothee Chalamet and thinks, "welp, it's over for us". I'm not sure if he has the acting talent required, but I feel I should have one suggestion on this list that is contemporary, an actual actor, and the right gender.

Why won't I answer questions about the movies?

I've answered questions about them in the past (check out the masterpost!), as I'm happy to explain what I think of them. Which, in short, is that they're terrible and form a different canon than the canon of the books.

The problem is that people kept asking me to write movie-verse metas, such as what do I think of Jasper and Bella joking around at the beginning of New Moon, or what do I think of Bella's wedding dress, and it came to annoy me as I'm a fan of the books, not the movies. Plus, I've said so much about those films already, I feel I've got it covered. So, I put a blurb on the askbox asking people to please not ask me about the damn movies anymore. (And then forgot that blurb existed until just now.)
